AP News, I'm Ed Donahue. Special counsel Robert Hur is facing questions from Democrats and Republicans on a House committee over his recommendation not to file charges against President Biden over his retention of classified documents from his time as vice president. Democrats like California's Adam Schiff are criticizing the part of the report that questioned the president's age and mental competence. You understood when you made that decision, didn't you Mr. Hur? That you would ignite a political firestorm with that language, didn't you? Congressman, politics played no part whatsoever in my investigative steps. You understood nevertheless the work that I've put in my report. Republicans like California's Tom McClintock are critical of the recommendation of no charges. At the same time, an armed incursion claimed by Ukraine-based Russian opponents of the Kremlin unearned a border region just days before Russia's presidential election. President Biden is hosting Poland's president and prime minister for talks at the White House today, with the Polish leaders looking to press Washington to break its impasse over replenishing funds for Ukraine at a critical moment in the war in Europe. Stocks remain higher on Wall Street. This is AP News. The scandal overcame the Princess of Wales family photo is the newest chapter in the thorny relationship between the media and Britain's royal family. It's also a sign of how hard it is for the monarchy to control its own narrative in the social media era. Ukraine newspapers were dominated on Tuesday by what the Daily Mirror called "the picture of chaos" and the Daily Mail labeled "a PR disaster for the royals." It follows the retraction by the AP and other news agencies of a photo of Kate and her children over concerns it had been manipulated. Kate apologised, but that's not stopped. The flood of rumours and conspiracy on social media. A former Jacksonville Jaguars financial manager Amit Patel, who pled guilty to stealing more than $22 million from the NFL franchise through its virtual credit card program, was sentenced to 78 months in federal prison.
