It's the News, I'm Ben Thomas. A judge has dismissed some of the charges against former President Trump in the Georgia Election Interference case. Mike Hempen has details. Fulton County's superior court judge Scott McAfee wrote that six of the counts in the racketeering indictment must be quashed, including three against Trump. But he left in place 10 others against Trump and says prosecutors can seek a new indictment on the charges he dismissed. The indictment charges Trump in more than a dozen other defendants with violating Georgia's racketeer influence and Corrupt Organizations Act. This is the first time in any of Trump's four criminal cases that charges have been dismissed, with the judge ruling prosecutors failed to provide enough details about the alleged crime. The ruling is a blow for Fulton County District Attorney, Fannie Willis. She's facing an attempt to have her removed from the prosecution due to her romantic relationship with a colleague. I'm Mike Hempen, the House has passed a bill that would lead to a nationwide ban of TikTok if its China-based owner doesn't sell at stake. Lawmakers concerned the video amps beholden to the Chinese government and poses a national security threat, Representative Kathy McMorris Rogers. We have given TikTok a clear choice. Separate from your parent company ByteDance, which is beholden to the CCP and remain operational in the United States or side with the CCP and face the consequences. The choice is TikToks. Israel says it'll direct 1.4 million displaced Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip's southern most town of Rafa toward humanitarian islands in the center of the territory ahead of a planned offensive. Russian President Vladimir Putin says his country is ready to use nuclear weapons if its sovereignty or independence is threatened. The warning to the West comes just days before an election in which Putin's all but certain to win another six-year term. A plan to install new leaders in Haiti appears to have crumbled, political parties rejecting it. This is AP News. The European Union has approved an artificial intelligence law expected to act as a global signpost for regulating the fast-developing technology. And Seth Soutel has the AP markets report. Stocks drifted to a mixed close on Wall Street as a lull carried through financial markets worldwide. The S&P 500 edged down two-tenths of a percent Wednesday, a day after setting its latest all-time high. The Dow rose 37 points as about one-tenth of a percent. The Nasdaq composite fell half a percent. Stock markets around the world also made only modest moves. Crude oil prices rose, adding to their gains for the year so far. That helped the stocks of energy companies. Valero Energy rose a bit more than 5 percent. Dollar Tree sank more than 14 percent. The company said it was closing a thousand stores and slashing the value of the rival family dollar chain it acquired almost a decade ago. Treasury yields edged higher in the bond market.
