AP News, I'm Haya Punjuani. The House is easily passed a bill that could lead to a TikTok man in the U.S. AP Correspondent Sagar Megani reports. The popular app is owned by Chinese tech firm ByteDance, which lawmakers say is beholden to the Beijing government. They worry China could demand access to the data of TikToks more than 150 million American users. Washington Republican Cathy McMurris Rogers says the bill requires ByteDance to sell TikTok if it wants to keep operating in the U.S. The choice is TikToks. But California Republican Tom McClintock says the choice should actually rest with American consumers. The answer to authoritarianism is not more authoritarianism. The bill's Senate prospects are unclear. President Biden has said he will sign the legislation if it passes. Sagar Megani Washington. A new law in Mississippi will allow earlier Medicaid coverage to women who are pregnant. The presumptive eligibility legislation will allow pregnant women in Mississippi to receive earlier Medicaid coverage to help improve health outcomes for mothers and babies. The state has the nation's worst rate of infant mortality. The new law states that Medicaid will pay for a pregnant woman's outpatient medical care for up to 60 days while her application for the government-funded insurance program is being considered. Eligibility under the new state law during pregnancy would be based on a series of questions about income. If the Medicaid application is rejected, the program will still pay for any services a mother was provided during her time of presumptive eligibility. In a speech at the United Nations, the European Union's Jossup Boral says the situation in both Ukraine and Gaza constitute a humanitarian crisis. "An starvation is being used as a war, armed. And when we condemn this happening in Ukraine, we have to use the same words for what's happening in Gaza." This is AP News. AP correspondent Dasha Litvinova reports this week's election in Russia is expected to cement Russian President Vladimir Putin's grip on power until at least 2030. Putin is virtually unchallenged. His firstist critics are jailed or in exile and the three other candidates come from Kremlin-friendly parties. Putin's crackdown on dissent has also crippled independent media and rice groups, giving him full control of the country's political system. AP correspondent Mark Meyer reports the Timberwolves beat the Clippers 118 to 100. Anthony Edwards scored 37 points as Minnesota rallied from 22 down to beat the Clippers. The Timberwolves trailed 57-35 midway through the second quarter. Nikhil Alexander Walker had a season-high 28 points. Mike Conley went for 23. Clippers star Kawhi Leonard left the game after just one quarter with back spasms. Paul George topped the clips with 22 points. Minnesota wins the season series three games to one.
