With new levels, come new devils. Join us for this exciting and insightful morning prayer as Pastor Sean talks about new challenges David faced as he began to step into his divine destiny.

I want to read the end of 1st Samuel chapter 18, verse 10, and I want to read verse 11. David was playing the harp as he did each day, but Saul had a spare in his hand, and he suddenly hurled at David, intending to pin him to the wall, but David escaped him twice. You know what I want to talk about today? Success breeds jealousy. Success breeds jealousy. I believe this is a word for you, and you're going to be blessed. But before we get into the word, let's worship God. And the Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders. Let me walk upon the waters, wherever you would call me, and take me deeper than my feet can ever wander, and my faith would be made stronger in the presence of my Savior. Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders. Let me walk upon the waters, wherever you would call me. Take me deeper than my feet can ever wander, and my faith would be made stronger in the presence of our Father God in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Me and Pastor Amy would join our faith, which are wonderful people here on this morning. Dear God, anoint the word of God. Take the word of God and apply it to our hearts and our lives. Make us stronger. Make us mature. Help us to grow. One us. Help the word to cause us to be shopper. You said the word is the discern of the thoughts and intents of our hearts. Have your way this morning. Bless your people beyond measure. Encourage them in the name of Jesus. Let something come from your word that will quicken them and make them better Lord. In Jesus name, someone say amen. Good morning to you wonderful saints. We are continuing our series on overcoming adversity. And we ended yesterday where Saul began to I, David, with a jealous eye. And on this morning, I want to talk about this. Success breeds jealousy. When God began to work in a person's life and he begins to increase that level of success. As your level of success increases, of course, you'll have a lot of people in your carnal celebrating rejoice with you. But don't be fooled. That gonna be some people who will be jealous. Everyone's not gonna rejoice. Look, when God began to work great signs, one is in miracles. In the life and ministry of the Lord Jesus, the Pharisees were jealous of him. They were eaten up with jealousy. The Bible says Pilate who was a heathen king. And that's putting it mildly. Pilate who was a heathen king recognized that it was because of envy that the Pharisees wanted Jesus to be murdered. Even Pilate could see right through them and realize it was because of envy that they wanted to kill Jesus. They were jealous of him. They could not handle his success. There was great signs, wonders and miracles. The crowds went everywhere he went. Amen? And then watch this. I want you to hear this success breeds jealousy. Let's go to the first time in chapter 18 and I'll pick up where we left off yesterday. So from that time on Saul kept a jealous eye on David because the ladies came singing Saul have killed thousands but David have killed tens of thousands. So in Saul's eye they elevated David above him but that was Saul's own doing because Saul disobeyed God and God sent Samuel the prophet to Anoint David. We talk about that when we started this series going into the life of David. Remember we talk about it. The spirit of God departed from Saul. God told Samuel I want you to go on Anoint David to be the next king. I'm given I've chosen someone who is better than Saul and God used Samuel to tell him I've chosen a neighbor that's better than you. Wow, some serious stuff. And when Saul saw David defeated Goliath and then the people he was excited when David first killed Goliath. But the men and those ladies started singing Saul kill a thousand but David killed tens of thousands. Now there's going to be trouble because now it stirred up a jealous spirit in Saul. So from that time on Saul kept a jealous eye on David. Now this story here this always amuses me when you teach or preach this message in church how some people are quick to put themselves as being David and their pastors being Saul which that's and sometimes that's the case but not all not all the time. That's not always the case. It's amazing that they never see themselves as an absolute because you know there's a flip side where absolute who's the son attacked his father David. Are you listening to me? But it just amazes me that people never call themselves Absalom and some of them absolutely are. But everyone wants to be David. You understand? Watch this now. So from that time on Saul kept a jealous eye on David. Verse 10 says the very next day a tormenting spirit from God which means God allowed this to happen to Saul because he opened himself to it. Over when Saul and he began to rave in his house like a mad man. David was playing the harp as he did each day but Saul how to span his hand. You better keep the minds over playing that music. So Saul how to span his hand and he suddenly hurled it at David intending to pin him to the wall but David escaped him twice. That was God. I mean he's trying to minister the very person he's trying to minister to. The very person he's trying to break the power of demons over. That's the very one who launched a murderous assault to try to kill him. I mean Saul was experienced sold it. He was a warrior and he tried to kill David because he was jealous of him and that's where jealousy will lead. It leads the person becoming one to murder and kill somebody over jealousy. And David escaped him twice. Saul was then afraid of David. For the Lord was with David and that turn away from Saul. Saul realized God is with this man like he used to be with me and Saul was angry. He was jealous. He was furious. He was in a rage. He wanted David dead. Now you listen into me. Finally Saul sent away and appointed him commander over a thousand men and David faithfully led his troops into battle. David continued to succeed in everything he did for the Lord was with him. There is something about when God is with you. There is something about when God begins to show up. There is something about when God begins to give you divine favor. Are you listening to me? There is something about the favor of God. There is something about when God's hands is on your life. There is nothing nobody can do about it. Now watch this. When Saul recognized this he became even more afraid of him. He became afraid of David. What's amazing is there was no need to be afraid of David. David was committed. David was submitted. He was humble. David didn't look at himself for some big shot. But Saul could tell this got to be the one that God is about to raise up. So he wanted David dead and he was afraid of him. But all Israel and Judah loved David because he was so successful at leading his troops into battle. Success breeds jealousy. You may be in a situation like that. But you got to be like David. You know David never spoke evil of King Saul. He never tried to undermine his authority. He never spoke negative of Saul. David stayed humble even to the point that when Saul was killed by the Philistines, David said I refuse to speak evil against the lords and I did. Lord have mercy. Some people in the church can use that lesson right there. He refused to put his mouth on God's anointed. What a lesson. But I want to say this to you. Success breeds jealousy. When God begins to work great signs, wonders and miracles and give you great favor and great influence. Everyone's not going to be happy. And you got it. You got to face that. Don't be naive and don't be vulnerable and think everyone's on your side. That's not the case. But the most important one is on your side. The God who called you. The God who chose you. The God who anointed you. The God who appointed you. Oh blessed be the name of Jesus father. Write down me in past Amy. We join our faith with your wonderful people. We join our faith with them. We join our faith with them. Those who are experiencing similar situations what we talk about today. We're dealing with jealousy. Give them great wisdom. Give them knowledge. Give them understanding. Give them discernment. Guide them with your wisdom. Guide them with your wisdom and help them to overcome adversity in the situation that they are in. Just how you kept David and help him to escape over and over again. Help your people to escape. That's dealing with jealousy. Help them to overcome whoever is healing to that spirit.
