AP News, I'm Ben Thomas. Senate's top Democrat is calling for new elections in Israel, saying Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is an obstacle to peace. Sakamogani has more. Chuck Schumer has positioned himself as a strong Israeli government ally, but amid a growing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, says Israel needs a course correction. Prime Minister Netanyahu has lost his way. Saying he's badly heard Israel support worldwide by putting his political survival and his far right extremist coalition over Israel's best interests. "Israel cannot survive if it becomes a pariah." Minutes after Schumer's unusually direct call for a change in leadership. "Jewish state of Israel deserves an ally that acts like one." Republican leader Mitch McConnell blistered Schumer, who is among a growing number of Democrats joining President Biden in publicly pressuring Israel to protect Gaza's civilians during the war. Sagar Megani, Washington. "Russia state media is reporting a claim from Yemen's Houthi rebels that they now have a hypersonic missile. But White House national security spokesman John Kirby says, "Those reports are inaccurate. There's absolutely no indication." The federal judge has rejected Donald Trump's bid to throw out his classified documents criminal case. Eric Tucker on What's Next. "The trial is tentatively scheduled for May 20th, but that date exists only on paper. Both sides have proposed a summertime trial, although Trump's defense team also says that there's no rational way to hold a trial this year so close to election." The father of Michigan school shooter Ethan Crumbly has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter. James Crumbly was accused of failing to secure a gun and doing nothing to address his son's mental health problems. Ethan killed four students at Oxford High School in 2021. His mother, Jennifer Crumbly, was convicted last month. This is AP News. There's a mounting push across the country to save the segregated cemeteries where African Americans have been buried. Norman Hall has the story. Growing awareness and the discovery of graves of African Americans have sparked efforts to restore the sites which were established due to racial division, even in death. The burial sites have been found beneath parking lots, schools, and even in Air Force Base. Race relations historian Marvin Dunn. "We're talking about hundreds of thousands of black people whose very places will never be known." In Miami's Brownsville neighborhood, the abandoned Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery was purchased and restored by a black family. Frank Wooten says maintaining it is a labor of love. "I'm a little more than that here, so I enjoy coming out here and keeping it up."
