AP News, I'm Ed Donichy, a judge gave Fulton County DA Fannie Willis a choice. She could back out of prosecuting the Georgia election interference case against Donald Trump or she can drop Nathan Wade as special prosecutor. Wade has decided to formally withdraw. Willis and Wade had a romantic relationship, more on Wade from the AP's Mike Valsamo. He's one of many special prosecutors who were hired by Willis's office. Some of the special prosecutors are experts in the Recost Act. One of the charges that were brought in this case. Wade offered his resignation in a letter to Willis saying he was doing so in the interest of democracy, in dedication to the American public, and to move this case forward as quickly as possible. The U.S. is warning Iran of major new sanctions if it moves forward with an advancing plan to provide ballistic missiles to Russia for the war with Ukraine. White House national security spokesman John Kirby was asked if there's recent evidence of Iranian weapons used in Ukraine. A black Connecticut state trooper was acquitted today of all charges in the death of a black community college student with mental illness who was shot as he sat behind the wheel of a stolen car holding a kitchen knife. Trooper Brian North could have faced up to 40 years in prison in Connecticut. Prosecutors say a man who shot and critically wounded another passenger on a New York City subway train may have acted in self-defense and will not immediately be charged with any crime. The shooting during rush hour yesterday came a week after Governor Kathy Hochl sent the New York National Guard into the subway system to help police search for people with weapons. This is AP News.
