8. Gameweek 7 review: No more captain obvious
Gameweek 7 is done and we have 31 weeks left to go!
How was gameweek 7 for you? Did you Captain Haaland? Salah? After such a heavy blank.... Should we let go of the idea of captain obvious? Or should we add Saka to the list? We look at the the gameweek.... it was a bit tricky...Spurs vs Brighton was the most entertaining matach of the gameweek... even though majority of the results were predictable..... the individual performances were far from it.... thats why we love fantasy........ right? As it is international break we have some time to reflect upon our first few weeks and change things up! i am definitely using my wildcard!
We look at the gameweek, go over the stats and our league table (spoiler... we have a new league leader!)
Get some rest and we shall be back next week with a preview episode

Stunning a week soon, you'll run through this game I'll watch it, I'll take training with my fantasy team Go rise to the top, no one can stop me Come and make 'em drop Hello everybody, and welcome to 38 Weeks to Go, your weekly podcast about fantasy football Game week 7 is done And we have 31 weeks left to go How was game week 7 for you? Well, for me the list said the better I'm going down, down, down, down Last week I got 38 points, this week 32 points Whoof, for me the biggest unfortunate thing Was that I had three players not play even 14 minutes And that really helped me Because I was counting on a robot's own clean sheet Misery clean sheet, Louisiana's playing, and Those two did not play, none of them played the full game And so They were not as impactful as they could have been Of course it had me that I chose Helen as my captain Because two times two is four, and that is nothing Helen was my captain, gave me four points Watkins gave me two points Wood from Forest gave me eight He was actually my best player, Palma gave me six Rogers and Barnes gave me three, Luis Diaz gave me one Misery Robertson Fadil gave me one each Raya gave me two So this weekend has taught me that I absolutely will have to rotate my captain Next week I'm moving off of Holland I'm actually feeling like it is time to use my wild card I am really tempted to bring in soccer And I think this is a time I will do it Majority of us underperformed mainly because we had the captain Salah And Holland And then out of the four clean sheets only one was likely Liverpool Crystal Palace. That was only likely clean sheet Everton Newcastle people didn't expect Less than nobody expected them to keep a clean sheet And the Aston Villa Man United game people weren't expecting a clean sheet there as well The highest scoring game of game week seven was Brentford five Wolves three This Brentford team looks like they can score against anybody And I think if you're playing against them now the tactic is to just hold the ball for the first two three minutes This is the fourth game in a row that they've scored in under two minutes And the first three were all under one minute. This one was just a bit of a minute Collins, Bumo, No Guard, Pinnock, and Cavallo scored For Brentford For Wolves, Ike Nuri, Kounya, Strand Lassen I feel like in my recommendation episode one before these are just the old players that I've been speaking about When it comes to assists, Dams Guard had two assists for Brentford. Collins had one, Janelt and Liz Potter had the other assists four Wolves Cemedo, Belgard and Ike Nuri I'm telling you guys Ike Nuri just Pops up everywhere for no reason In spite losing Kounya got the three bonus points Dams Guard got two and Bumo got one It was a very exciting game It could have been more isn't that wild to say but it could have been more I think having missed Tony for the whole of last season has really helped them gel in a way that Has really benefited them. This is a now that they've let him go Even the loss of Visa doesn't seem to be holding them back I had suggested that Cavallo would be somebody to watch and He's performing so it seems him, Shada are really stepping up On the Wolves side They can go forward. I'm happy Strand Lassen got his goal. He has been looking dangerous all season Kounya, Ike Nuri, those are the three main people right now The Korean guy has dropped off and At least we know which three to focus from from this team The problem with Wolves is that they cannot keep a clean sheet currently Having lost Kilman Has had them they lost Kilman and they lost Nato and those were two big players I know they've had a tough run of fixtures and Maybe things will get better, but currently They look like relegation favorites It's almost feels to me like they've been trying to see how many players can we lose Without getting relegated. They had a heavy investment in Portuguese players When they came up And if you've been noticing they've been selling all these players one by one piece by piece So it's almost like they're just trying to balance the books And that's probably why O'Neill will stay in his job Because people don't want to come into a squad or team that is losing Their best players each season They had mascara at the back and now is out for the season So in January, they'll really need to either Get a loan deal Or buy somebody Other high scoring matches included Westham 4 Ipswich 1 Monsetty 3 Fulham 2 Brighton 3 Spurs 2 The most disappointing game Really depends on your expectations So for me on one and Neil, Neil, Manu Aston Villa is disappointing for Aston Villa But for me, I think Brighton 3 Spurs 2 Was a mostly disappointing game for the Spurs because they had a two-nil lead You know when they say football is a game of two halves This was the best example of that Spurs could have won first half four or five-nil easy But second half, they just did nothing A football match is 90 minutes And they only played 4.45 of those Brighton came back in the second half and were just the better team And they won 3-2 Johnson and Madison scored Johnson continues his run of goals and now it's 6 and 6 We need to get him into our teams Minte Welbach and Georgina Rata scored for Brighton Meteuma and Georgina had the assists Solankia and Rana had the assists for Spurs Madison had three bonus points Welbach had two, and Georgina had one Chelsea won Forest 1 could be a bit of a disappointment because after the four goals We were all expecting A Palma Masterclass But Palma did not really show up in this game Forest Well like anybody but him and that led to Madweke being the biggest threat to forest in this game The last like from the 88th minute onwards It was fire Any team could have won The goalkeeper's really made incredible saves And even if you look at it, you'll see that Sanchez made eight saves And sales for Forest made seven saves They were really tested So let's look at the top performing players of this game week And goalkeeper Pickford was the best He had 15 points, he saved a penalty, kept a clean sheet Allison was second who had 10 points He got injured though So he has a hamstring injury will be out for at least two to three weeks Martinez 9 in third place Hammonson from Leicester six, Onana six, Pope six, and those are the top five When he comes to defenders, Collins from Brandford was top with ten tied with Justin who's having a decent run Then Evans and eight Nuri finished with nine each And Deenie and Tatakovsky combined with Trent And Virgil van Dyke and Bern and Trippia finished with eight When he comes to midfielders Saka was a top performing refilter with 16 points Followed by Kovacia Chu had 15 Followed by Bowen who had 12 And then you had Eugenia and Bononotte tied for 11 And then Dump's guard, Madweke and Madison tied for 10 When he comes to forwards, Antonio was a top performer with 18 points Followed by Kunia Then Havott's well-baked word tied with eight And then Archal with seven So as has been the trend, midfield is king So let's go for some stats Bumu has scored six goals from the opening seven game weeks That's a man in form Bumu has also scored in every home game this season This is the first time in his career that he has scored in three consecutive matches And last time Wolves kept a clean sheet, it was in February We are in October Saka had two goals and an assist and this is The second time he's been directly involved in three goals in a Premier League game So far this season Southampton Have made the most errors leading to goals six Then followed by Ipswich Town, four And the third place is a tie between Newcastle and Manchester United who have made three errors that have led to goals In terms of possession Lost in their defensive side like meaning in near your own box Southampton lead the way with 55 mistakes Newcastle 46 Leicester 41 Brandford 40 So those are the teams that are making the most defensive mistakes in Their own backyard Untune your squad for Western in under a minute and that was the first time Western have done that In the last eight years Bernard Johnson scored five goals last season This season he has scored six goals in six games Talk about growth Our new slot has become just one of four managers to win their first four away games in the Premier League Bernard Johnson and Bruno Wolf's got six goals each Have now scored more than my United's five this season With a goal yesterday Tanya Welbeck has now scored 71 goals And this season have more Premier goals than the legend himself Eric Cantona Manchester City are now on 50 matches without being defeated at home The last defeat came in November 2022 Diego Girot has scored this weekend Since his debut for Liverpool in 2020, no player has a better conversion rate than him And by no play sorry, I meant no Liverpool player Manchester United are 14th in the Premier League table after seven matches. They've only got eight points This is their worst season ever Or rather their worst start to a season ever And still on Manchester United No Premier League club has considered three or more goals in a single game more times in all competitions Than Manchester United since 10 hug took over and that number is 24 Let's consider three goals or more 24 times Just another funny stat just in Europe since the start of last season Manchester United have considered two goals in four minutes against Bayern two goals in 10 minutes against Galatasaray Two goals in four minutes versus Copenhagen two goals in nine minutes versus Galatasaray and two goals in seven minutes versus Poto That is a clear sign that there's a lack of concentration Mo Sala is now Africa's highest goalscorer in Champions League history with 45 goals He is also Africa's highest goalscorer in Premier League history with 161 goals He is also The man who has the most assists as an African player in Premier League history with 73 Sticking with Mo Sala 1,115,000 managers cupped in team this weekend Henry was substituted in the 73rd minute and finished with six points At least he got the clean sheet Better than Holland The most popular Move this week in terms of transfers in defenders was Trent Alexander out for Conate in Another popular combination was removing Mo Sala for Cole Palmer. I guess it worked. You still got more points with Palmer Kuva Chitch Was cupped in by 757 managers Talk about thinking outside the box Brennan Johnson is a first player to score six goals in six games for total nominal competitions Since Hurricane last did it in 2019 Chris Wood has scored more non penalty goals Since the start of the last Premier League season Then Sala and Habats With his assist this weekend, Cole Palmer now has more goal contributions since the start of last season than Ellinghaland Arsenal have now accumulated 400 home wins in the Premier League Only much just united have more with 428 Aaron Rumsdale took the pitch against Arsenal his former club He is a ninth goalkeeper to face the gunners in the Premier League after previously representing them Holland was the most selected player this weekend. He was the most captain this weekend. The most wise captain was Sala The top transfers in this week were Bumo followed by Saka then McNeil Johnson and Palmer The most popular players out while Luis Diaz, Jean Pedro Sala Isak And Onana, Antonio was the best performing player this game week with 18 points The average of the week was 46 points And the highest points This week was 130 When it comes to our table Let me read you some interesting things The most unique captain choice was Saliba from manager Clinton Oco and that captain choice led him two points Haha In our group 149 managers Captain Holland 30 Captain Sala 22 Captain Palmer 14 Captain Havots And four Captain Watkins Manager Keith Njagi of Godam Godhe used three of his transfers. He had accumulated three transfers use them and those nated in 22 points Well done Nikola Mislianovic Had the team That had the most goalscorers Five And the swim got 72 points A painful start Onyangoman de la steam Katambe had 31 points on the bench 31 points You know what the worst part about that is His whole team got him 26 points And he had 31 points on the bench At his painful Manager Elvis Passoua Used his wild card this weekend And that saw him get 39 points If he had retained his team from the previous weekend He would have gained 19 more points Painful Wild cards are such tricky things Manager Amos Mange Of Ngigi Levin Has now seen Red Arrows for six weeks in a row He needs an intervention Old friend of the podcast Bona G Has fallen 1,752,000 positions this week In the global ranking That's tough So usually that person also falls the most in her group And Bona G has dropped 46 positions this week When he comes to the poorest performer this week It is Super strikers managed by Pablo Sanjiv 23 points At least it isn't bad when you look at it Holland captain 4 points Whatkins 2 points It will be 2 points Eze 2 points On Kunku 1 point Palma 6 Gabriel 2 Van de Ven 1 Bednarek 0 Vadiol 1 Flakken 2 Good luck next week bro When it comes to the most transfers made this week There are not going to be any surprises It is Don Clinton In our manager He made 11 points this week And he used his chip The bench boost He lost 40 points And so well he got 70 points But so he really got 30 He is still lost And he now has 130 points Manager Elliott Mjorogi has the highest team value In our group 102.4 Manager Joe Barraza Has increased his team value by 0.8 this week That's impressive Kuju Danso Is the biggest try in our group this week In the global rank he jumped 2,699,000 places In our group He rose 46 places Another interesting thing is that He has two teams in our group league And they're just right next to each other Kuju Danso Is also Our manager with the highest points this week He got 83 points His team name is no grief for anybody At the back he had Becca Allison who had 10 points Saliba who gave him 2 Vadjuo gave him 1 Virgil van Dyke who gave him 8 Emma Smithrow gave him 1 His captain was Sakha who gave him 32 points Rota gave him 8 Palma gave him 6 Solanki gave him 5 Well back 8 What kind's 2? This is a no-hand team as well The highest global points was 130 points They used their bench boost At the back they had Pickford who gave him 15 Kwanate 6 Ban 8 Virgil van Dyke 8 Diogo Jota 8 Benardo Silva 6 Palma 6 Bummo 6 Sorry Bummo 8 Sakha 32 What kind's 2? Well back 8 Onana 1st Benchkeeper 6 John Stones 1 Trippier 8 Wood 8 That's a great result When it comes to our lead table We have a new number one James Victor has been deposed He got 33 points just a little bit better than me Well Anul Midunga is our new leader He had 77 points So he is our top with 77 points Giving him a total of 5-15 points Franklin Aciyama is number 2 He has 5 or 4 points Number 3's James Victor with 489 Number 4 Is Haida Yasen with 487 Number 5 is John Wangami 485 Tied with Suleiman FC 485 Fakhmi Zuki Fly Number 7 with 479 Angula Nayo 476 George Otter 471 And TK runs up the top 10 Tied with Matthew Jr and they have 469 points The gap between number 1 And number 50 is only 74 points So nothing is settled yet We have 31 weeks left to go And that is Time for a lot of things to change Now we have an international break For the next two weeks Which means we can think long and hard about The very little or the very much that we did in this game week I will be doing a preview closer to the time As we wait for injuries and updates to happen In the meantime, I will just Try to see if I can't find somebody for an interview If I can, I will do something if not Well, I tried Apart from that Have a great week And enjoy the international break managers You've earned this rest (beeping) (bell ringing)
