The Supreme Court has refused to intervene as he appeals his contempt of Congress conviction. The AP's Jackie Quinn on his four-month prison sentence. A former adviser to Donald Trump is expected to be in prison soon for refusing to testify about the January 6th U.S. Capitol insurrection. The U.S. Supreme Court has rejected a last-ditch appeal. Navarro's been fighting for months to stay out of prison, despite being found in contempt of Congress, for refusing to speak with the select committee investigating the January 6th insurrection. In August of '22, Navarro claimed executive immunity, but the lower courts rejected that argument. I'm Jackie Quinn. In today, six former Mississippi law enforcement officers will be sentenced after pleading guilty to charges involving the torture of two black men. Authorities say this began after a white person phoned the rank and county deputy and said that two black men were staying with a white woman at a house in Braxton, Mississippi. Israeli officials will be in Washington to discuss with Biden administration officials a prospective Rafa operation in the Gaza Strip. Judge Brendan Sheehan told Crystal Candelario that like her child, she will never be let out of confinement. And it's said she'd have life in prison without the possibility of parole. Candelario pleaded guilty last month to avoid two murder charges. "No state that I'm going to lose if you have those." "I'm not trying to justify my actions." Authorities have said Candelario, who has struggled with depression and related mental health issues, left her daughter Jalen in their Cleveland home for 10 days, while she went on vacation to Detroit and Puerto Rico.
