This is AP News. I'm Rita Folley. Six former Mississippi law enforcement officers who pleaded guilty to charges for torturing two black men will be sentenced by a federal judge beginning today. This began after a white person phoned authorities and said the two black men were staying with a white woman at a house in Braxton, Mississippi. Now to what the Supreme Court is doing about a Texas immigration law, the AP's Norman Hall. The Supreme Court has extended for now a block on a Texas law that would give police broad powers to arrest migrants suspected of illegally entering the U.S. An order signed by Justice Samuel Alito indefinitely prevents Texas from enforcing a sweeping state immigration enforcement law that had been set to take effect this month. The language of the order strongly suggests the court will take additional action, but it's unclear when. The Justice Department has argued the law would step on the federal government's immigration powers. Opponents have called the law the most dramatic attempt by state to police immigration since an Arizona law more than a decade ago, portions of which were struck down by the Supreme Court. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu will send a team of Israeli officials to Washington to talk with the Biden administration about a prospective Rafa operation in the Gaza Strip. That's according to White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, who said this yesterday. The president told the prime minister again today that we share the goal of defeating Hamas. But we just believe you need a coherent and sustainable strategy to make that happen. A student at Alabama A&M University was injured Monday after shooting it out with the campus police officer say authorities. The officer was patrolling a campus residence hall and heard shots being fired, say police. The officer then found an armed person in the stairwell and the shooting started. Police say the person with the gun was a student and was injured and taken to a hospital. This is AP News. Now to Banksy, the artist. There is a new mural from the elusive graffiti artist Banksy. There is green paint sprayed on a wall in London's Finsbury Park neighborhood. In front of the wall is a severely cropped tree and the corner of the wall is a life-size figure. In his usual Banksy stencil mode, which he's colored in green and black and she's holding a precious spray. Art critic Estelle Lovett says the green paint makes it look like the barren tree has leaves. At the same time as nature being created by man, it's also saying that man is destroying nature. Banksy has never confirmed his identity, which is part of the appeal. There are lots of rumors. He's a musician and a pop band. Some people say that he's married to a label politician. Other people say that he's a butcher. I'm Ed Donahue. And I'm Rita Foley, AP News.
