AP News, I'm Ben Thomas. The World Food Program warns famine is imminent in Northern Gaza, and further escalation of the war between Israel and Hamas would worsen the situation. Charles Deladezma has more. In Northern Gaza, famine is imminent. Our If Usain, W.F.F. Chief Economist, says we have to act now. It's a very short window to act. Usain says hundreds of thousands of people are at risk. About 1.1 million people in catastrophic level of hunger. If fighting continues, and aid access not improved, famine could also hit the rest of the Gaza Strip in July this year. If displacements continue, if we are not able to bring enough food and access people, the report says that there is a famine which could even happen in the rest of the country by July 24. I'm Charles Deladezma. The White House says Israel is sending a team to Washington to discuss a prospective military operation in Rafa Gaza's southernmost town. Also in Washington, Jackie Quinn reports that it's yet another budget deadline looming. A partial government shutdown could occur this weekend. If congressional and White House negotiators fail to quickly reach a deal on some key agency funding, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre says that includes the Department of Homeland Security. Republicans are pushing for more money to step up border security. It's critical that we keep the government open. It's not just DHS, there's numbers of other programs that Americans need that we have to continue. Immigration is a dominant issue in this election year. Even if a funding agreement is reached soon, the earliest the House could vote would be on Thursday. I'm Jackie Quinn. Strong start to the week on Wall Street, the S&P gained 0.6% in the NASDAQ, 0.8, while the Dow rose 75 points or 0.2%. This is AP News. The Los Angeles Dodgers are opening their season in Japan with their star Shohi Otani, the main attraction. Shelly Adler on their reaction. Baseball fans in Tokyo are bleeding Dodger Blue. Now that Superstar Shohi Otani has moved from the Red Cloud Los Angeles Angels to the LA Dodgers fans need to be dressed in blue. A Dodger's cap is a fashion item in Tokyo. At one sports store, there's a regular cap that goes for $42, but a fan's won a traditional blue cap that also features number 17 on the side and a replica of Otani's signature that goes for about $150. Next is a baseball that Otani threw in a game last April. That price tag is a whopping 3.3 million yen, and that's about $22,000. It's only a little over $13K for an Otani used baseball glove.
