You're a morning ray of sunshine by Anand Seif Kumar. It's not all about us, but we have a tendency to make it about ourselves. Like when we do a pitch to a climb, they aren't interested, they have very valid reasons for turning us down and it's obvious they had made up their mind even before we had uttered a single word. Yet, we think this is our failure, question our worth, feel crushed and not good. The reverse also happens. A project that we are just part of is incredibly well and of course, we think it's because of us. Granted, we may have played a very significant part, we might be the one responsible for the inception of the idea, we might even be captain of the ship, but we still couldn't have made it work on our own, it was a team and everyone deserves a share in the accolades. In both cases, it's ego that's making it about ourselves, equally detrimental to our interests and our growth. So, the shake of the ego and deal with both failure and success, with equanimity and objectivity. That will stand us in good stead and pave the way to rise up or rise higher, sunshine in your day.
