(upbeat music) - We are back second segment text line, drum six as he missed Bo. - Makes sense now. - My 7-1-2-2-2-2. - Pauline, Jackson, who are we talking about here? - Bo Derek. - Bo Derek. - Bo Derek. - This is Bo Derek. 6184 says he hates Iowa also last year with 91. 92-39, he said, if you're talking about the 93 game against UCLA, that was when LP started his legacy. Like I said, I won there. I think LP was probably back in Cali, about to do his thing, Raiders fan, two twins, as opposed to, I don't know, was that for the basketball? - Yeah, you were describing a team that had the... - Yeah, like a dude who got the two twins. Big Bang Hank says, "Mello." Gino has an honest question. Maybe you talked about this yesterday, but Gifford talked about how pissed off he was. They were at the Saturday. Were those teams you played on JEVER, not pissed off? Did you ever go into a game with anything, but I'm gonna kill you in the mentality? Sure, I mean, yeah, you know, especially... I mean, you're gonna be mad after you let yourself down. You know, your team doesn't play well 'cause you're invested, so you should be emotional about it. You know, and like I said, there's a difference to playing your hardest, trying to play your best, and you get beat, and it's just not your day versus not doing the things that you can control as a one through, what is it, 80, to give yourself a chance to play. And the one I just mentioned is the one where I was talking about the price of discipline is worth, is minimal compared to the price of regret. Did you ever lose a 48-point game? - In college? - Definitely. - No, in not in college. We got smoked one time. - Like in high skies? - No. 'Cause you don't have... - No, no, no, no, no. - No. - That's not happening. - Houston. - No. - Buffalo. - Well, the equivalent and the pros is, I could tell you, we got, well, Kansas City didn't beat us by that many points, but they beat us because we pretty much crapped to bed. One time we went out there to San Francisco when I was in Buffalo. This is actually Halloween, so actually coming up here very soon. Played him on, I think, a Thursday night. That's what your boy, Ray Brown, right? So D.P. was talking about Ray Brown. So he was about Ray Brown. He played about 25 years in the league and was built like a bodybuilder, phenomenal athlete, kind of, you know, kind of rotational starter, but then when he started, he did well. He was just, he could play every position. He's a great example of longevity. I think he coaches in the NFL or at least did for a long time too. - He's a high school coach. - Right, but he coached at the NFL and the offensive line for a while too. So we're playing him out there on Thursday night. They got Garrison Hurst, J.J. Stokes, Ray Brown, Jeff Garcia is the quarterback. Terrell Owens and who's the dude that married Jessica Simpson, the Titan? He was a Titan. And so, you know, they had a good team. When I tell you them, them brothers out there on Warp Speed, listen, they were moving so fast, Austin. It was like seeing two of them because they were fresh, you know, it was Greg Williams and he just beating us up in practice. We weren't very good. And so that we lost 28 nothing. So that's probably equivalent. Then the last game of the season down in Miami, I talked to you about Lamar Smith and we lost pretty bad to the Dolphins. That's when Alex Manpelt, we were all excited for him to start and pull his hamstring and warm-ups, which is, I've never seen that before, a quarterback. You know, Alex, he's not the beacon of physical health I'd like today. And we got smoked. That was a long five hour flight back to Buffalo. And I'll never forget looking up there 'cause I had a kind of a road in myself because I was the one or two seats before, like the big plane in the bathroom. I remember Tom Donohoe was sitting up there talking to Greg Williams and I was like, "Yeah, and the light shined on him." And I was like, "I told my friend Sean Bryson." I was like, "Man, that dude's up there thinking "how was he gonna cut? "He wanna get rid of him." - He really, but Ray Brown started over 200 football games. - He did? Oh, that's right. 'Cause he was a full-time starter. - Well, he was a pro baller in 2001. - That's right, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that was my bad, I know he was late forever. - 205. - Yeah. - Yeah, I should have done it, yeah. - I found this thing out this weekend. What, it's a trivia question for you, Jay. Austin, if you know the answer, feel free to chime in. What player has played more plays on the defensive side of the football in NFL history? What player has played the most plays defensively in the NFL? - Or just overtime? Oh, London Fletcher. - Ever. - London Fletcher? - No. - Oh, Jim Marshall? - No, no. - More than Jim Marshall. Number one, in plays, defensive plays in the NFL. No player has played more plays on the defensive side of the ball than this play. You're in the right neighborhood. - During my time? - Yes. - It's not? - Yes, it's the matter. - It's not London Fletcher is defensively. - It's gotta be somebody that played, oh, it couldn't be Junior Seow. Could it be Junior? No, trying to see if somebody that played a ton of plays or played a ton of years. - He played more plays, he played 20 years. - On defense? - On defense. - That was Junior, wasn't it? - There's one, there's a player. Junior's in the top part. - No one Paul Krause because he's in the way older. - 20 years. So he got to be, what could, oh, Dale Green. - Dale Green. - That was, Dale Green has played more plays defensively. - Because he never got hurt. - He never got hurt. He started every game. Dale Green has played more plays defensively than anybody in the history of the NFL. As you think about that, right? - And he still could cover. - He ran a 4-4-8, three months ago. A 4-4-8. - He's just one of those dudes that you don't wanna play at the open running in the why. - Man, just walking up on you. - Yes sir, how old are you, 65? - Yeah. - You may not realize it, but every minute of every day, you're enjoying your First Amendment freedoms. He was a big shout out to him. I know he wanted to eat, he got his own sweet, he got the ring of fame. I grew up watching him, man. I mean, I think his iconic play is when he had the intersection against the bears and he hurled the guy and he pulled the rib cage muscle. - Pump return. - Yeah, or the rib-point return, yeah. That was the, you know, the infancy stages of NFL. - Cracked the rib. - Yeah. - Hirdle a dude in zero degree weather. Cracked the rib. - It's too cold. - Cracked the rib. Well, one, he hadn't been, he hadn't been returning putts. - Yeah. - But they knew he was the best putt returner around. They just didn't use him 'cause they didn't have to. - Yeah. - And the game had gotten so weird and they finally pinned the bears back and Joe Gibbs was like, I'm gonna play a hunch. Let's get Darrell out there. Darrell caught it and heard a little hurdle and took it to the house with the pressure. - He was a great player, man. It's, you know, I mean, some of those guys that, I mean, obviously he gets his just due, but I mean, people don't realize how good or how great he was. I shouldn't say good. - And there was a champ Bailey was in town. - Obviously another great one. - Right. Those are two of the top five, right? - Yeah. - That no matter how you break down defensive backs or corner backs. - Yeah. - No matter what it is. - That those two, Dion played a little safety. So there's that Ronnie Lat played some safety blunt, played some safety. We can talk about pure corners. - Oh my goodness. - Oh my goodness. Yeah, what college was green from? Texas A&I University. - Yeah. - Texas A&I, imagine how good you, first of all, how good you had to be. He was passed on, literally every scout in the country missed it. - Oh yeah, for sure. - To end up with Texas A&I. And then how many people missed out were wrong about the five foot eight, 168 pound corner who goes on to be in the Hall of Fame and being one of the great. Sometimes we say that, you know, scouts don't know what they're talking about. - Well, I mean, I think it's one of those things that, you know, whether it's Dale Green or John Randall, you got to think they were in college at a time to be honest with you. You got to think, my dad in 1968 is when they first started, that's first year they would integrate college openly. - Right. - And so their time when they came, you know, in the middle of the late '80s, especially for Dale Green, that's still like, it was still you could go, but if you didn't pass the height weights, you know, it actually had speed, but if you didn't have the height, they weren't even looking at you. So that's how you have-- - They weren't in the scholarship, they-- - Right, so you have guys like that that, you know, go to Texas A&I, you have John Randall, goes to Texas A&M, Kingsville. - I mean, they missed out. - I mean, you're not talking about-- - Jason, I mean, Michael Strahan. - Yeah, Michael Strahan. - And his story's a little different because he played, started football so late when went to Texas Southern. And his parents were stationed in human, or Houston, but he was grew up in Germany. - Dale Green didn't play high school ball until his seniors, mama would not have played. - And money Coleman, he was telling the story. His, they wouldn't let him play until he got, he was in the band. - Yeah. - I mean, that's where a lot of guys-- - He was in the band as a junior, they were like, "Hey, bro, he's getting scholarships there." I mean, it's also when you look at it, that's where you got a lot of the guys that would go to those schools and because still that's where you would probably get the, you know, looks, you know, a lot more frequent. So, you know, being overlooked, you know, it's no different, like I always tell people, Danny Woodhead, Danny Woodhead comes in Nebraska, does he end up being Danny Woodhead? Maybe not. - Well, let me say it publicly. Congratulations to you, Dad, making the final stimulus. - Oh, yeah, yeah, you made the final 31 out of it, which is weird, but-- - So he went from-- - One per team. So the idea is that at least teams can be represented-- - He's in the mix, he's in the mix, and this is the farthest he's been, so we're gonna keep pushing forward, keep, you know, praying and hoping. He's in the college football hall of fame. He's in his high school hall of fame, of course. He's in the Vikings, bringing honor, honor, and that's great. You ask people, he's still the best runner back, and he doesn't have all the yards. He's in the Miami Hurricanes, bringing fame. He's in the, you know, the down at the stadium. You know, so this is the last one, man. So, you know, I'm excited for him. - I, I, I-- - Happy form too. - It's my hope that both he and Larry Brown-- - Yeah. - Get in at the same time. - It'd be great, man. I think it's, I think there's gonna be three. You know, I think it's time. I think there was some unfortunate factors and none of his doing, which has probably been the most disappointing of it. And I think once we've, it took us, obviously my dad, when you get let down by some people, it took him a little while to get over.
