Breaking news coming in from Bet365, where every nail biting overtime win, breakaway, pick six, three point shot, underdog win, buzzer beater, shoot out, lock off, and absolutely every play in between is amazing. From football to basketball and hockey to baseball, whatever the moment, it's never ordinary at Bet365. Gambling problem? Call or text 1-800-Gambler. 21 plus only must be physically located in Colorado. What up, we're back. Second segment, J-4 with DP four o'clock hour, 10 40 O Street, live and effective MECO sports radio. I think it's, you know, the funny thing is, obviously, but there's no comparison to obviously want to play it to hear, but, you know, there's comparable at the pro level. I think, like, I've kept saying and kept saying, I keep saying, I think college football is a more of a pro football version of football versus college, and I think NFL is entertainment in a lot of ways. And I don't believe in the conspiracy theories, but I just think it's entertainment because of the money, you know, it's worldwide. It's entertainment. It's like a traveling carnival, you know, and you can just stop by on the block sometime and knock some sense in the strike. I keep trying. There is some weird stuff going on, but it's a fight you over there. I mean, if it's, if it's, if it's, if there's conspiracies, then hopefully they just said, you know, bless Buffalo with a championship, you know, that'd be great. But, uh, you know, I remember now, I always try to compare, I never want to get up here and try to act like I'm high and mighty, right? I always try to compare. Yeah, like you're a Hall of Famer or something. That's fine. That's not another life, right? Like you led the league of tackles. Nah, what do you want several times, you know, back to back year. Yeah, it was probably why I got broken neck now. But anyways, well, but I like to always try to have, if there's comparable situations that I can always try to put myself in their shoes to, I guess, educate people to give people a little bit of heads up with what it's like, right? And I remember, I always talk about, we play Kansas City one time. Um, and, uh, you know, they got after it's pretty good. And this is when they had Dante Hall, Priest Holmes, they, and they had Will, I mean, they were, they were tough, right? And they got after our defense's tail, pretty good. And it was embarrassing. You know what I'm saying? And the game got away from us really quick. It was a tight game, kind of like Nebraska, right? And then all of a sudden they, you know, not granted, there was other factors, but we were good enough as a defense that I like, I always say, to be able to tread water and keep her head about water. We did not, right? We didn't, we did not, not granted, our offense had issues, but defensively, we did not. Um, and then actually the whole team. And here's what we did as a defense and then as a, as a team, you know, everybody was mad at a lot of frustration. We had the booze and all this other stuff and, you know, throw the hands up and, you know, you know, the fans are like, here we go again, you know, so forth and so on. And when we watched that defensive tape, even though the score was bad, we were, we actually, in a weird way, because we forgave ourselves by really, really having hard talks with ourselves in our linebacker rooms and all this other stuff, in the mind you, I would tell you, it's coming off a bi-week too. So we were expected to play good when we played like booty is that, uh, we saw on tape and gained confidence because it was like, yeah, we were getting called to the floor, right? We were getting called out. Don capers called us out. You know what I mean? I mean, and then you got the GM, uh, I think Charlie Castle was in it, you know, in the Bob McNair was in there because the onus was on the, on us, right? As a team or as a defense to lead the way, but then there's a whole team, we watched it with the whole team. I remember Dom was like, you know, there was a play that I messed up on. Um, and it's a play that he expected me to play make. I expected myself to make. I did not make the play. Matter of fact, I made the wrong check, which should never happen. That should like, I should never mess up mentally. That's a no go. That was a no go for me, right? So you get, you know, there's 53 guys in there and made on the practice. Well, yeah, hey, everybody's in there. You're on front. Hey, you puck it up real tight. You know, you just waiting for your time too, right? And it wasn't good, but walking away from there, we gained confidence because as we went along and you got caught, you were like, you know what? That's on me. I can control that. I can make the play. Now, here's our weird, the sports world goes. The next year, and this is funny. This is when Kansas City was even rolling even more. There's the one they were really talking about Super Bowl. We were playing them up in Kansas City. Now, granted, we had an Andre then. So we had a little bit of X factor over there, you know, but they had Patrick's Retained and those deep, you know, defensive backs. We go to Kansas City. So you got to think in our mind, we watched that game. The same game from the year before. Now I have paid back on my mind because Tony Richardson cheap shot at me. So I was, I've been waiting for this game for six months. All off season. He was going to retire. He was, I think he was trying to get more money. Then once I saw on kfl.com, kfl.com, I only know if it's still alive. Text line, let me know if it's still alive. I saw he was coming back. My workouts changed. But the thing is, we gained enough confidence from what we didn't do because we forgave ourselves by working through it, honestly, hard conversations, but we never forgot it. Went up there and upset Kansas City. And you know, that's what you talk about with the expectations of Ohio State. If you do that and you do it in an honest and pure way, it's not personal, right? Because everybody loves the team and everybody loves each other on the team. It's where this is the football version of us. And we have to have some friction, some real live friction. And once we get past that friction, it starts to smooth out. Then we move along together. And then I would say like this, man, this is an easy way to look at a team. You need offense, defense, special teams, you need coaching and culture, that makes the fist, right? You do that, then you'll be able to go to places and, you know, David and Goliath upset the world. And then you'd be like, man, that's the team actually that we expect to show up for 12 weeks. Well, being able to communicate when you face friction, right? Or when friction shows up, right? How you communicate learning how people are learning how to win? It's usually that when chaos happens, how you handle chaos that dictates winning. And if you get comfortable in, hey, man, AJ, I was left, I needed to take a look, like, look, I'm going, and to be able to talk and communicate, well, Indiana had players who had success at JMU playing together. And they adjusted routes, they adjusted coverage, they adjusted blocking schemes, their timing was perfect, like they knew where people were going to be, and they were where they were supposed to be on time and in place. Those things have to be learned. Yeah. And then the biggest thing, I think, by bringing those players from where he was at and hand picking players that they did extensive research at that level where they were at, it could fit different places along with Tom Allen actually had had an uptick in recruiting before he got fired is they could immediately immediately implement their culture, because those players do it. So he came with this vision, right? Every coach is going to come up and they'll have the tag words, you know, what's to do from UTEP? He said, we want to be the fastest and physical, you know, that's that's your that's your blueprint. Well, last year for Nebraska's R.D.V. Relentless, disciplined environment. Right. But you know who you're funny, but we have this. But the guys that have to do that, who has to live it if when you're a football player is just who you are, man. And that's and that's what he was not just when you're silly. Yeah, just who you are. You know, sometimes I was when we were here, we were a little bit too far. But you know, I think that's what what they're learning how to do. They're a young team. They got some veteran players, they got a lot of young players. You got a lot of guys that are trying to learn how to really, you know, be in this big time football. They're young and in leadership position. Some are. Yeah. Some are. And I mean, look, man, you got a freshman quarterback. You got to listen. You were rolling one of them, dude. Yeah. That's it. And because because at the end of, you know, a year or two from now, it is like you look back on as like, that's part of the learning process, along with some other young guys, that doesn't make it right. Right. You were at week six. So the old saying used to go, when I was a freshman starting, Coach Samma said, look, man, after that six game, he's like, I achieved, you no longer a freshman. So there's a there's a lot to be learned and they can learn from it and they can get better from it and expect them to do so. And it's a hard process to go through because letting yourself down is probably one and everybody's done it. If anybody gets on this radio station, or not already, or it just just says that they've never really effed up or like, you know, or like let them so it didn't play well. Maybe you ain't play hard enough. If you ain't got got or you, you know, and there is a difference getting got showing up and ready to play and you get got by better player like me against Tony Gonzalez or something like that. Okay, that's just, that's, you can somewhat deal with that. Not being focused and ready to compete is a thing that you have to make sure that's what you can never forget. Oh, you know, the dudes that got you, you wouldn't expect Tony Gonzalez. Oh, no, no, no. You know, Tony, you know, you got you got a battle when it's Tony. Oh, yeah. It's the dude who snuck in into the game that you you watched him. He played three plays last week. You know what? There's only one dude that did that. There's that. First of all, Lorenzo Neil, when I saw him downstairs, he really think he got I was like, bro, like, I destroyed you. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like we used to call him one pop like, bro, you sit out the club. There's a dude that was his backup. This is the funny thing. And every time I see him one, if there's there's two dudes, I wish I could strap it up again. Matt Hoskinson and Slash Joel McAvica just because they run their mouth so much. But this dude named Fred McCraery McCraery is a McCraery. He was a backup fullback. Just played a Auburn or something. So we were playing them one time. I played off a jumped over a cut block, right? So the dude tried to line me try to cut me. Then he hit me in the mid-air. And then so he got me, you know? And then he just, oh, I got it. You know, he's up running around flexing. That's the only dude that where, you know, you got got caught slipping. I mean, I got got one more time, though. One more time. Oh, it would be no. Hey, listen, we can line up right there. 11 to no. 11 to no. Put him out there. Put a straight YouTube. I know deviating from that, man. So yeah, he got me. You know, you're going to get got in the league sometimes. Fred McCraery 31 career rushing yards, one rushing touchdown, but 113 receptions for 646 yards and seven tuddies. But the top is Wikipedia page. Yeah, yeah. Neil Jay Foreman once. Yeah, I got it. He's got the picture. Yeah. He got me, man. And then the thing is every other team we played that he was on, he was a backup fullback. And he got me, man, I was admitted. I mean, you're just defenseless. And he looked worse than it was. But it happens, everybody. But you know, I think the biggest thing to take away from last week going into this week, and then we'll talk or, you know, as we got, we'll talk about Ohio State because I've watched them a couple of games is I'm big on intent. It's an everyday thing. It's hard to do, but you have to do it. The mental thing more than the physical thing and the mental changes and will lead you physically and spiritually to bigger and better things. But we're going to take a break, not the bigger and better things. We'll come back. We will. Breaking news and this one is almost unbelievable. Back to Old School with D.P. and Jay on 93/7 the ticket and the ticket FM.com. Well we're back Jay Foreman, also Norman D.P. Old School's crew. Eric says for Sean said he got the best of you once a day. He got doubtful. He might've. He might've. You know the one thing about for Sean he will get practice cracking. That's one thing that he gonna for Sean gonna talk all practice and then if he gets you he gonna let you have it so he gonna get it. He was a tight end. We never really went at each other or nothing like that. But yeah he would definitely get to get that bad boy cracking. Was it 10th and Vine? Jay needs to talk to the locker room with 10th and Vine. Is that where the football thing is? Was it close? Yeah it's close. 14th but yeah fine. Yeah anyways NFL. Some trades. Chiefs. It's gonna be a re-emergence of DeAndre Hopkins. Do you know what the Chiefs are? Chiefs are now like the Raiders back in the day D.P. where they're getting guys that kind of get thrown out the pastor and have a couple more years left and they give them a championship environment. Don't overuse them and get maximum output. He's gonna have six touchdowns at least by the end of the year. I yeah I think six is probably low but I mean yeah and then you got think Juju Smith's Juju Smith's juicer was playing really well so you got hurt and rice is out for the season. Great pick up. Yeah the idea of Hopkins have my homes having Hopkins to throw through this. What's that skill set? Yeah it's just boy boy like it's a little more thing with with Derek Henry and just taking another personality equation to defend him and now you're just gonna let my homes run free to move the chains and you do all the hard work of press covering a Hopkins and then my homes just runs down the field for 20 spots. Throws it up. Yep in your spot or he throws a fade and then you can do about it because he's Hopkins. The NFL I mean I don't think the trades are done. No you had another one. Yeah I mean Ernest Jones got traded again he was traded from the Rams during training camp to the Titans and then obviously the Titans traded Hopkins and Ernest Jones. Ernest Jones wants a new contract he had three good or three really good four really good years in a row he's playing good right now trading him in Seattle essentially for peanuts. He had the Mari Cooper trade to Buffalo which paid dividends right away and then also Houston Texans I think what they really did where it wasn't a trade Devin White who was a former Pro Bowl linebacker young players still didn't acclimate. I always thought when he went to Philly to play for Vic knowing a little bit I know about him I know how good of a player he was and really can be you know I think he had some off the field stuff I think his dad passed away and that really you know affected him and that's just natural. Houston's picking him up you're getting a Pro Bowl dude looking for an opportunity mad at the world and being and he'll be plug and play right away and you have a linebacker head coach that understands who he is and what he needs to do to play well. I don't think we talk enough about the chemistry that's required that if you're going to pick up a play or any player of talent that plays if you play for the wrong coach. Oh it's it either you play for the wrong or first of all if you're drafted by the wrong organization yeah and the and you know stuff you say you get injured or something you know coordinator change or you play for a coordinator that doesn't you know you sign there and then it's like you got me doing something I ain't never done before. Well it should be why is Mike Tom when told Brandon Marshall that's why I'm highly compensated yeah that should be why they're highly compensated is to figure out that chemistry figure out how to acquire the guys that fit them and vice versa. Yeah I mean we talked about it with O'Shawn Mathis you know we probably looked at him and I don't think we ever saw a play that he didn't play in a wide nine and just go crazy didn't have any responsibilities and then you try to play in a more of a complex defense what you got to do you got to be very versatile and it just didn't work out I mean it did that sometimes but not to the rate that what people wanted. I think Devin White in this situation is the same especially at the pro level I think I know I know personally me personally for playing from Vic it you have to be mentally strong mentally tough and it takes you have to dive in in the minute detail tails in order to really really show your athletic how good you are like it can be and if he didn't or if you don't play well Vic Vic Vic'll play a young dude quick over you you get hurt or something young dude play you like oh yeah you're done now you know but he couldn't do it to Patrick Willis and Navarro because Jim Harbaugh stepped in but even if you wanted to but I'm sure he it crosses mine but that's what happened up there a couple guys they're a little bit cheaper and then it just became a pull thing like you know what I mean and it's easy for up there in the league to say all right we're not progressing because he's still in the locker room well what's going to happen is to do this what's going to be playing right now going to get a little ankle sprain Devin's going to be down there playing for championships so they're going to pull and beat huh no I'm saying no no did you see the headlight did that yeah we'll dive in there and then hey in B said listen I need my time off okay these brothers that play pro sports now they need breaks okay he said I when I was in the Olympics I was out of shape I need the half of the season to get back in shape for us to losing the first round again with Paul George um matter of fact if he's around yeah well he's he's got a high ankle spring home bridge yeah same thing but yeah anyways we'll take a quick break come back um we'll talk to more NFL and then we'll end the day with uh some tips and uh stuff to look out for for Ohio State good a little bit of short day tomorrow with Thursday so J Forma D.P. Austin we'll be right back breaking news coming in from bet 365 where every nail biting over time win breakaway pick six three-point shot underdog win buzzer beater shoot out lock off and absolutely every play in between is amazing from football the basketball and hockey to baseball whatever the moment it's never ordinary at bet 365 gambling problem caller text 1-800-Gambler 21 plus only must be physically located in Colorado.
