One of these days as we sit here in the window at the corner of 11th, though, when you watch Lincoln's traffic, go back and forth and folks wave and nod their heads as they, as they come by. One of these days, I just want to do a roll call of all the business, all the business trucks and cars that go by here. Because some, I found out earlier that people were pulling up just to, you know, kind of get on camera. Because when we're at break, it'll show the street sometimes. And they were falling in love with that. I was like, okay, it's really a thing. One of these days, we were just have to call out, shout out all of that. And then another day, just to have you shout out your company because we're Lincoln station and, quite frankly, shouting out businesses that are one being supportive to doing well, being a part of the community. We'd like give you and your boss or you and your company an opportunity to get a shout out here on the ticket. A couple of things that, for the course of the day. Okay. I yesterday was tough for me. I wasn't feeling well. I'm not a member of the take of the day off club. Like I'm just not, but I literally I could not have sat through a show yesterday. The joke from this morning was I had the Wizard of Oz. Wizard of Oz popped on the night before when I started to feel under it a little bit. And so I just recorded it. So I'm just going to go to bed. So yesterday, and it's a stomach virus bug. They come to go. Right. I was figuring it wasn't in between. Right. Yeah, you know, come on. I'm going to help you with the weight loss. I'm going to help you, you know, with temperature adjustments, et cetera. And I really. I'm not the world's greatest sleeper. But yesterday in the 24 hours, I slept 18 out. I slept 18 hours yesterday. And I mean, must have needed it. And I mean, in between, it was just sprinting down the hall. Right. But and then this morning, I said, okay, I need, but I didn't eat yesterday. So I felt what I feel is weak, not because of the bug, but because I haven't consumed anything. Any food I walk near. Like I would make it to the kitchen and then have to spend pivot and get out of there because the smell of any food was just right. It was so it was just, yeah, it was just tea and water. And then, and then somebody needs to explain to me the greatness that is ginger ale. I've never had ginger ale, which tells me that you've lived extremely healthy life. Up until the last couple of years. Yes. That ginger ale in my family. And I don't want to say in black family, but in my family. Ginger ale is, there were two things that were that were the fixed at all. For anything that ailed. Ailed. Yeah, anything that ailed you. Uh, kind of liver oil. A mouthful of cod, cod liver oil. And if you haven't experienced this human torture. Uh, oh my goodness, it is a thing thing. Like just, and I think it's really that, that your body, it's so evil that your body has to reset. It's the control, delete of the human body. Yeah, like it's like, okay, let's reboot everything in your humanity is kind of liver oil. And my grandmother was the queen. So you knew they thought you were really sick when they broke out the cod liver oil. And as a matter of fact, it was a great truth teller. Because if you're willing to take kind of liver oil, a mouthful, you're really sick. You're feeling it. Like you can't fake. You can't fake a kind of liver oil sick, right? Cause it's like, no, no, no, no, it's cool. I'm going to school. It wasn't that deep. It wasn't that deep grandma. It died. I don't like it, but I'm okay. Oh man. It was like, Oh my goodness. It was just a beat down. The other thing on the healing side was ginger ale. So if your stomach was bothered. Ginger ale was was the goat. For me was right. I would imagine I don't know what the with the ingredients for either are. And I would think in some comparison that obviously they would share some. Was there a specific brand that you were light on? Oh, Canada's right. I figured that Canada drives the goat. It's the goat of ginger. And I think that's the only thing Canada drive is the goat up. It may be like tonic water, maybe, but ginger ale, Canada drive is the is the brand. Okay. Ginger ale ingredients, carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, and less than 2% of the following ginger extract, natural flavors, citric acid, sodium benzoate as a preservative and caramel color. Okay. Sprite ingredients. Okay. Carbonated water. Check. High fructose corn syrup. Check. Yeah. Citric acid. I believe that is also a check. Yep. Then you also had natural flavors. Check. Stadium citrate and sodium benzoate. Check. So they're literally the same thing. Minus ginger. Minus ginger. So, but the color. Okay. But what? So what does ginger do for the human body? So what does that? Yeah. Listen, Eric, I had to bring up the kind of wall, man. So some of the listeners are like, oh, this is PTSD. You're activating some things. As a matter of fact, that's the only thing I could consume today was ginger ale ginger coffee. Even though as much as you like to try, I wouldn't try the peanut butter crackers that wasn't working. That wasn't working. And then I thought, as my grandmother said, try chicken noodle soup. So I went to the old school chicken noodle soup, right? Old school with any camels. Yes, not the, not the new. No, no old school that was condensed and that you had to put, you had to put a can of water into the, into the thing to get it digestible. And so, yeah, that was a real thing. So that's what I tried. I have not tried Verner's ginger ale. Austin, is that something you've heard of? No, let me look it up here. Yeah. Oh, Jesus, you had a couple of times. Originated in Michigan known for its intense ginger flavor and strong carbonation. Super ginger ale. It is the fully flexed large dome ginger ale. In full. Yeah, dances can. I came to see you, bro. Cool thing looks as Robitussin is a cure all, but I don't think. I'm not sure that it's not a cure all, but I'm not sure what it is. Robitussin probably has old school drugs in it. Like the old school corner pharmacy drugs in it. Like I would imagine Robitussin starting around the, the 1870s. And they just start putting things together in the back of the pharmacy. So funny enough, my wife needed some Robitussin. I don't know if that's the first time I've ever bought it in my life. Okay. So depending on the types of Robitussin, Dextromethorphan, cough suppressant, guifenicin, expectorant, acetaminophen, pain reliever, fever, fever reducer, and phenylephrine, nasal decongestin. Right. Yeah. Pretty much everything right there. Yeah. Did you just go? Literally it was the pharmacy having a party. Right. And it, and the thing, people forget that, that behind the side, before the real full science, that a lot of the things that were used to treat people were simply to knock you out. Yeah. Knock you out and they give you smelling sauce to wake you up. Right. It's like WD or duck, WD-40 or duct tape. If it moves and it shouldn't. Duck it. Doesn't move and it should. WD-40. All of it. But like that, except for humans. Yep. Like let's get you, we'll get you in. We'll knock you on your butt. Right. Have you, because the fasting is supposed to be anything good. Okay. So yesterday, I mean, I, I thought I was fine. I got in the shower, got, I literally got dressed. And I sat in my chair. In, in, in my little office space and my body went. Yo, DP. Take him shoes off, bro. We, we got another plan today and. My stomach was like, Hey, bro. I don't know what that voice is just said, but keep them shoes off. Keep the shoes on. Matter of fact, you take everything off. We ain't going nowhere. And I mean, I, I literally thought. At 10 o'clock that I would be fine and I would be in the afternoon. And I mean, the, the spectrum of, of probability, the probability spectrum. Went off the cliff at 10 a.m. to. There's zero chance. It looks like Atlanta Falcons win expectancy chart. Oh man. From the top. This is pre-curve cousin. And then this thing got low. And stayed low. And so when I woke up this morning, I was like, okay, hopefully, you know, I can make it. If I can do it in five, give me the five minute morning. Yeah. Right? Because yesterday wasn't. So it was a brutal thing. So I'm glad to be here today. Yeah, it's coffee and ginger ale. I don't know. Saltines is, is, is, is an undervalued MVP. Cause, cause that was it, it was saltine crackers. Uh, what it all means, but there's some depth behind it and some things that some questions that I had for all of you, because Tony Bennett and I had a conversation. Seven, eight years ago, and it comes to mind. And I, I, it is a thing that has vexed me for the last few years. And I, I can't simply get an answer. So this is what we're going to leave you with, and you can put them in your, in, in, into the text line. If there's one thing that you want from that rule. What is it? If there's one thing and there, there are some options if you, if you want, they, they probably shouldn't be necessary. But I'm going to leave you with the conversation I had with Coach Bennett and then we'll come back to it. In that conversation, Coach Bennett discussed with coaches that they would come a time in the near future where coaches and fans would have to make the decision about what was going to be first, what was going to be most important thing. Is it the business, the money, because the money winning is effective, right? Is it the young people? Are they supposed to be there to, to, to help raise elevate the young people? And then finally said, and then to be the, the, the person of character and integrity when you do those things. And he said, because there would come a time where you would realize that you cannot. In this day and age with social media and instant gratification and instant communication and cell phones everywhere and digital communications, tracked, copied, etc. That no coach will be able to deliver all of those things at their highest level. It's just not possible. So then you're led to ask, what is the thing? And for the coach, Jay Wright, you're winning, you're winning titles. And something wasn't good enough. Tony Bennett took a Virginia program, which lost to a 16 seat as a one seat, won a national title, and it's still not enough. So what is enough? And then the question becomes, what is the thing that you want? And remember, you're not speaking as a parent. You're speaking as a fan. Because as a parent, it's a different question. As, as an alumni, different question. As a supporter, a booster, different question. Minestrators, different question. What is the thing that we want most from Coach Matt Rule?
