All right um open up a couple things tonight hi nice to have you here and um George uh we were George McDowell and um and family he lost his father law now I'm not sure if that's Linda's brother or it could be a sister's uh brother or her sister's husband I don't know George called he was rather upset he was pretty close to his brother law I don't know if this was expected or not but he you know he was he was pretty upset today so uh we pray for a comforting of his heart for that now our condolences to the family on that I believe George will be doing the officiate me funeral there uh so be be with that you got any other prayers and we are zooming tonight so if um if you want to be a part of the zoom on Tuesday night uh give us a link and if if Terry you're you're looking in he had to look I forgot to send out the zoom but it's same zoom so you use the same zoom to to uh get in and you can join in on quite uh Q&A and things of that nature uh live as as it's going on okay so uh this evening let me see I don't know how well that works out for us but um all right let's see there we go give me a closer shot there I like it all right I'd love to have all the control up here all right love ball what what there's a number of different things I love about the fall one I get to wear my favorite sweater it's been with me for years ever since um Mike Mike gave it to me when I had this you know when when he gave it to me he had a $200 price tag on it whoa I'd never pay $200 for a sweater but he gave it to me and it's really as beautiful as it it's hold up well over years had me but um all right but yeah um come on back to George uh loss of brother um and be with him you don't have anything to add to our prayer list and stuff um just as way of announcement um Logos uh check out logos www.logos.com they've um launched a new um I say the latest version of Logos and Beck and I use Logos and it's um it's a very good tool for Bible study and research and I recommend it to all you and especially a serious student of the Word of God um and they have like three different packages I forget what the packages are but um you can go to the high end one I'll just tell you the high end one max which is um it's a subscription which for two years it's something like uh don't quote me oh it's in the $200 price range $246 or you can pay by month but for 246 you get a two-year subscription of it uh it's a full um full logos that you have and on that's a subscription uh I think that um and and like I said it has the resources on it and as things of that nature and um so I I recommend that you check that out it's it's I think it'll be a very good deal I'm still thinking about it we I've got um I've got a paid um Logos right now I'm not sure how much that will help me more in my studies um Bob Bolander seems to um think it'd be a pretty good deal speaking about Bolander um he's planning on making a visit here on the last weekend of December or the 28th so he might be bringing us a message next month which would be be absolutely awesomely good and um and I look forward uh we all look forward to that all right let's see um and um all right any profundities any anything up okay um well I just want to mention this tonight and I may mention it again again comes Sunday um certain we have the election coming up and uh election is next Tuesday we don't know what kind of circus it's going to bring for the next months even years and for those that are ringing their hands um I can only say to you that you need to check your spiritual life we we let let's just open it up this today with um let me see a verse I wanted to bring up and um there we go and this is the verse out of Daniel and remembering that Daniel um Daniel's a great book to read in a time in which we live because it certainly demonstrates how our attitude between government and our walk with the award should um should be and Daniel Daniel is certainly a model this is going to be Daniel 221 Daniel 221 Daniel is certainly a model of how we should live our lives in the light of eternity and living our lives in and um whether we're we're going through bad government good government remember that Daniel was whisked away from his own place and Daniel actually was faithful to God and was prosperous through I believe three different kings there was Nebuchadnezzar there was Nebuchadnezzar there was Cyrus and Darius I don't know Cyrus Darius maybe both the same but but it nonetheless he was never shaken by a change of government a government politics was a second thing now with that said let me tell you that we as Christians do not put our heads in the sand politics are important to us in the sense that as the bible says we are to pray for for good government in a sense that we may have peace and that we may um may continue to grow in an environment of peace but nonetheless we are um whatever happens on Tuesday and I'd say put yourself in the check now in the um in the uh in a light of things and prayer and and and given it into God's hands and prayer um perhaps we can through prayer we establish the some sort of of sensible government that governs us very important we don't know how long we live and for those that are we talked about rapture um sunday we talked about the rapture that's not our hope either ladies and gentlemen getting out of here and getting on the bus and leaving this world is not our hope our hope is a trust in the Lord in whatever circumstances we come in and we are in this world we're not of this world but we are in this world and we can be saw we could still be salt and light and we need to be looking at the influence and being that light in whatever environment political otherwise that God has placed us into what I'm saying is there's an objective reality and and certainly if the election if the election don't um go the way I way I would like it to I'm gonna I'm gonna say ouch and I may feel a little bit of ooh on there but it doesn't but it's not going to affect my walk and shouldn't affect your walk either and and at the worst it would be to gird up your loins and to continue to press forward with your spiritual life because this country is going to be hurting um in this country may not be our country there may be so many bad variables that happen but nonetheless we are still to to um serve God and whatever and as far as Tuesday night um let's bring up the passage here and we're looking Isaiah chapter or not Isaiah Daniel chapter 2 verse 21 Daniel chapter 2 verse 21 and this is the prophecy from Daniel as he's interpreting get ready to interpret Nebuchadnezzar's dream and this is his his counsel it is he who changes the times and he's talking about the Lord it is he who changes times let me go up a little earlier let me start with 19 then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a night vision did Daniel blessed the God of heaven and Daniel said let the name of God be blessed forever and ever for wisdom and power belong to him how does he exercise that wisdom and power it is he who changes the times and the epics and he removes kings and establishes kings he gives wisdom to wise men and knowledge to men of understanding it is he who reveals the profound and the hidden things he knows what is in the darkness and the light dwells with him to you oh god of my father i give thanks and praise for you have given me wisdom and power even now you have made known to me what we requested of you for you have made known to us the king's manner this um wonderful encouragement i recommend reading this maybe every day if you're a little worried about what's going to happen on Tuesday or whenever they're going to decide then i recommend you just keep reading this verse over and over again and remind yourself might be one that you want to put up on your refrigerator and look at and um and remember that who who's going to govern this nation regardless of how they put themselves into that situation if lying cheating stealing i don't care it's still by the hand of god that that he gets in there so we we we praise him for that and so tuesday night you can go to bed at a regular time get a good night's sleep and let let the hand of god move all right but i'd say be in prayer up until that point and beyond all right any parting words on that all right the first thing i'm going to do tonight is i'm going to go over the quiz the quiz and if you have any questions on your end you can go ahead and do that what's up what's up what's up going on out there all right well anyway all right well we'll we'll start up okay i want to get through i i know that you like to get your questions there so we'll do this at the beginning today how's that sound all right first first quit on the quiz for this is for sunday what is the what best defines our relationship christ in the opening verse of revelation and what what is that open verse of revelation well first of all let's read the verse the revelation of jesus christ which god gave him to show to his doulas his serve as slaves the things which must take place and he saint communicated it to his angels to his slave john what best describes our relationship there yes the answer is a doulas yeah i wanted to read the verse first the uh it doulas and uh doulas means slaves and we went over the principles of being a slave and there's nothing wrong with being a slave as long as you're a slave to the right thing and understanding that jesus christ we mentioned it this morning about jesus who are the lord the creator god who created all things and therefore since he had created all things then he owns all things and we are in servitude to him we belong to him and a slave master will love his slaves a good master will love his slaves he will care for slaves he will um and he will also place them in position in a proper position all right um i don't know if you see that real good up there or not all right um what is up uh okay let's go on to point two anything anything on that back all right next to x on estas x uh uh no i'm sorry x on estasis x on estasis is a great is a Greek term that defines what event the second coming the rapture of the church i know i don't know what i can do church so i will bring this up a little there we go that might be a little better bring that back up over here that's a little better all right um x on estasis is a Greek term that defines what event the second coming the rapture of the church the conclusion of history or Jesus becoming king the answer would be be the rapture of the church it's the exit uh on estasis means resurrection uh on estasis means resurrection and x means a Greek for out of so x on estasis is the exit resurrection and we spoke of that uh and again now our subject on sunday was the rapture of the church okay number three what theological position states that the rapture will occur prior to the seven-year tribulation this is a theological term we went over these these four and um let me just say this tribulation is just for our for the understanding we recognize um that uh when we went over it the other day about tribulation being the and i think wrongly so that the tribulation is the full seven years now how you view where the seven years it how the seven years it what the so what the tribulation is um is how you're going to view when the exit resurrection is going to happen if the full seven years is the tribulation then yes that the rapture will take place prior to that if if the tribulation is midpoint to the end then being a pre-tribula or mid tribulation will place it prior to the mid term but um so this is how the designations just come out pre-trip post-trip mid-trip and pre-recht so um what theological position states that the rapture will occur prior to the seven-year tribulation pre-trip exactly let me see if i've got that picture up here okay that's pre-recht mid okay yes pre-trip um and pre-trip uh pre-trip rapture and this is the position that um that most the dispensationalist take is that the entire seven year the end which we will call the daniel 70th week that entire seven years is the tribulation that's according to their uh and the dispensational um doctrine so with the full full the seven years being the uh the tribulation they regard the full seven as the day of the lord and therefore the rapture takes place prior to those seven years any question on that all right ah yes the day of the lord is the rapt uh yeah dispensational believe but they believed a full seven year as dispensationalist um with this full seven years they they believed on account of again being that the lord is is opening up the seals then it's the it's the mindset that the full seven years is tribulation the full seven years is the day of the lord because it is the lord who is um opening those seals okay leave that up to your i'm not going to be dogmatic on way or not but um it's um but that's the view of of the dispensationalist all right where we three or four we are in four where does the where does the 70th week designate 70th week designation of the last 70 years leading to christ millennial reign come from okay where do we get the 70 70th week okay I should say came from daniel to the angels angeles okay yes daniel you know what chapter howdy howdy where what's that let's go to daniel nine and we'll drop down to verse 24 okay verse 24th begins 70 weeks the gabro comes brings the answer to daniel he's been praying for three weeks about three weeks for a prayer for a vision that he had received and now gabro has shown up and he's and gabro presents this uh and interprets he says 70 weeks have been to creed for your people and your holy city to finish the transgression to make an end of sin to make atonement for iniquity to bring an everlasting righteousness to seal up the vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy place so you are to know and discern that from the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild the Jerusalem until the Messiah the prince there will be seven weeks and 62 weeks it will be built again with plaza and moat seven even in times of distress then after 62 weeks the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary and it will end with a flood even to the end there will be war desolations are determined and he will make a firm covenant and i'm going to stop right there so here is where we find the seventy three seven us there's 70 weeks and those 70 weeks is 490 years and it's going to it's going to take 490 years to do that and to restore israel as it was read back in daniel nine and when it gets to the after the lord after jesus had been crucified and had been cut off and at the time of the pentecost the age of israel stops now it's running co-terminus with with uh we'll talk about this later on in our our survey but it runs with the age of the gentiles but the age of israel those 490 years have been cut short seven one week which is which is seven um seven years um every a week constitutes usually we're used to say in seven days in a week well this is seven years a week a yearly week so after jesus had been cut off then is the timetable stops there's short seven years and that seven years we can call daniel 70 if we and it's it's like on on hold but it's going to it's going to take place and that's where the antichrist is going to reveal himself in those seven in those seven um seven um seven years the the scroll uh the seals on that scroll and remember what we said there there's a scroll in the heaven and that's kind of like a diet a title deed to the earth um a title deed a title that's going to be handed over to the lord jesus christ and that and that scroll was like so and on that scroll there are seven or seven seals um say like wax seals that and those seals the only one is worthy of breaking that seal would be our lord jesus christ the land and with each seal when each seal is broken something else is revealed upon this earth and um all the way up to the sixth seal which is the coming of the lord jesus christ all right so all that takes place and we're going to call that from the henceforth daniel 70th week we might call it daniel's trouble but we're not going to call it tribulation anymore we're going to call it daniel 70th week we're going that as as per the bible not through theological um presupposition i should say all right any questions on that all right we're moving on verse our five what best describes the day of the lord a the first day of the week when the church comes together and worships god jewish sabbath which is a seventh day of the week god's wrath against the wicked or the seven-year tribulation what best describes it god's wrath exactly god's wrath um yes god's wrath against the wicked um going back to the different positions um i think i kind of didn't explain that's real real well that we got starting with the pre-rat uh the pre-trib rapture or the dispensational view being that again i'll say on the basis that jesus is the one who's breaking the seal um it is um let me tell you how to say it um it's taught let me put it like that it's taught that those all seven years is tribulation number one and that look all all seven years is the day of the lord okay all all these positions remember that all these positions um the is known the rapture come that rapture precedes the day of the lord all four positions so it's really gets down to each one how is the what defines the day of the lord for um dispensationalists the day of the lord is the entire seven year um and then you've got let me find it here that pre-trib out of his god took mid-trib mid-trib uh they considered that the day of the lord is halfway to the end so therefore the rapture would happen right before the mid-point of the tribulation with the day of the lord that follows and then we have the post-trib post-trib is the day of the lord is a literal 24 hours which happens at the end of the seven years so therefore the rapture happens um at the end of it and then finally the pre-rath position which is where where i'm going to take unless the scripture dictates something different but um remember we talked about doctrine and dogma uh earlier but you have the pre-rath and the pre-rath position is that the day of the lord is somewhere between the mid-point and the end as described as jesus says in matthew 24 less those days be cut short and what days the days would be the um the great tribulation for all we all all of us understand that the great tribulation begins halfway to the end again described by uh jesus describes this in matthew 24 the olympic discourse so at some point the great tribulation is going to be cut short it's going to be the breaking of the six seal there's going to be a cosmic disturbance as jole described in jole chapter two um and just prior to that will be the rapture um and the the pre-rath position they connect the the rapture and the day of the lord these are events right behind each other first you have the rapture and then you have the day of the lord we're also going to also when we get to it we'll talk about the the sealing of the 144 which are going to be those who will remain on there but there they are going to be protected from god's wrath we'll we'll teach that when we get to it so this will coincide with what jesus says like in the day uh just as in the day of of noah they were eating and drinking and given to marriage and um talking about lot and same thing that they were eating and drinking and marrying and um given to marriage and till the lord came and took them away uh so we must consider that the the rapture and the day of the lord happens back to back first the church is taken and then god's wrath is poured out upon the um the wicked so that would be the the pre-rath view questions all right so uh number five was what best describes the day of the lord is the wrath against the wicked god's wrath against the wicked all right um number six what prophetical book and the hebrew canon best outlines the day of the lord very good joe joe chapter two joe chapter two and i use hebrew canon right there mean the old testament um as best known number seven why is our position this is an essay question why is our position on the rapture of the church important to our study of revelation why is it important why is there any should be any question about the rapture okay uh go ahead you don't you don't want to be surprised and not be ready and it does say in in the revelation as to the churches um that it says be ready it says let them have those out of ear and let them hear and it does say for those now that you're let them hear be ready to give an answer your description so if you are not in a tube it does say or else to read it and i think it does mean all description because it brings revelation you have to know from the beginning to the end to be able to know the revelation but um and understand it and um so yeah you to get a grasp on it to understand that is important because you want if you're going to take a stand on your believe i don't know it's important to make sure you got it right because you know you need to be for one for one at or first of all as a pastor especially being a pastor that's teaching this if if you happen to be in that generation they're going to have to proper be understanding and be able to interpret the times and light of the bible so if they um if let's just say we are living in that rapture generation and we move into the generation and we think that we that the rapture is going to happen prior to the um the tribulation and we end up with tribulation we're gonna have a hard time interpreting the times in which they are in number one um the so as a pastor would be that would be a a accountability factor number two if it ends up being a the fact that uh if we're wrong can a whole theological can't be wrong can a whole uh actually even as theological can't can we be wrong about the rapture is that remember we talked about doctrine and and dogma doctrine can be tweaked dogma is the hill you can stand on and many stand on uh you know on that hill that the rapture will take place and and i will even say i might be wrong do your homework because there are there are a lot of brilliant scholars those who my love and those who i i treasure their friendship that um that they they agree that they're that the rapture will happen prior to the tribulation and they define the tribulation as the entire seven year trip as a tire seven years yeah yes the main thing is that true taking truth as it is through spiritual relying on the wisdom praying for the wisdom yes and understanding that it is true God's revealing and through the Holy Spirit and not through things that that were built on what is that called built on um priest's up is this yeah priest's up is this priest's up is this yeah and then i will say also not only pre-heps up positions but i and i more so because i should i you know i do give credit to whether whether one is pre-trip post-trip mid-trip uh post-trip um it's not it's more than pre-supposition because uh a passage of work there wait they have reasons and so i say hermeneutical you know and a hermeneutics their interpretation and and i do respect that and the importance of knowing that our purpose is to be disciples, disciples and those that are in unbelief and those that are lost because when it happens you are here you are here now whenever you get through the rapture whether it's not you weren't here God's got you here you haven't left yet so you need to be new and what you need to be doing right living your spiritual life and and be ready like i said you know be ready for the answer correct so um the answer is you know to point out scripture and to point out that the Lord Jesus Christ i'm good number eight number eight to find in your own words what the meaning of what to find in your own words the meaning of tribulation what does define tribulation? tribulation is a time of trouble okay so time that is predestination of what God is um of course what is biblically what God has because we can say we go through tribulation in time but through scripture it's used in different different ways but um if you want a pacific to um a period that we're looking at now um that is the pacific time that is appointed by God to this plant is going to happen he is and it is it is matter uh when it is it is it is already his um will yeah so you got the pressure you got the trials um intense pressure and then you got the time of that pressure and that period of time which had pressure and and figure he brings all these on pacifically things as you read not only just not just revelation it's as we read to Matthew and we read to Daniel and we read through throughout the bible and they feel into yeah all the last few books on the Old Testament and get all different because of the bible can we have tribulation now yes but does that mean we're in does it mean we're in and yeah there you go yeah so terminology can be of all our mission all right number nine what seal when broken brings the day of the lord beginning with constant disturbance no six six seal six seal almost look it's that when we when we study and number ten in the pre-rath view of of the rapture what period is the day of the lord all seven years midpoint to the end of the age somewhere between the midpoint and the end of seven years or the last day of the seven years well I'll say that it's the day of the Lord if they mean the wrath the pre-rath pre-rath views of the rapture what period is the day of the Lord oh the the old the pre-rath that would be somewhere between the point of the end of the seven years somewhere between the midpoint and to the end of the age yeah oh into the age the upper end of the age and end of this age oh okay because I thought you just forgot to put week seven of the week yeah i'm not in the age is the end of the seven yeah because but some intrepidate that's different but okay any any questions or follow comments on that no that you B and C can be somewhere between the midpoint and the end of the seven years yeah you're right but yeah okay you said B and C you said B and C both B and C can be it yes between them because actually B and Matthew some intrepidate that definitely now now B is midpoint to the end of the age no so that's the full seven years that's so that's how the Lord is the last half where C is somewhere between the midpoint specific time between the midpoint and the age all right that's uh let's see what we can um finish up with our survey we may take another 30 minutes for this if you you got 30 minutes all right let's see what we can do any other questions on that a lot of questions a lot of questions well we'll we'll get them as we and discussion okay we left off last week and Jen said um I'll take probably about 30 minutes on this to um bring us up we've talked about we've talked about the um Abraham remember it's important to understand the Abrahamic covenant and that Abraham that covenant is a contract and that that the Lord condescends himself a binding contract and that there are two types of contract there is the the um unconditional and conditional the conditional is is um is that is it has if clause in there if you do this it has something that both have to abide by those contracts otherwise the contract would be broken nullified just like the mosaic uh covenant mosaic covenant that was a conditional and we find I believe it's in Leviticus maybe Deuteronomy maybe both um I'm thinking Leviticus I'm trying to think I may be Deuteronomy and it's the Lord who says if you do this and as you do this this is what you can expect you can expect good things I'm going to do this if you do this I will do this and it'll be great but if you don't do this then I will you know this you know then this is what you can expect and it's not going to be good but with the Abrahamic covenant which we begin in Genesis 12 when when it's expressed in 12 ratified in Genesis chapter 15 that is a non-conditional covenant not based upon the faithfulness of the people but solely on the integrity of God that's very important to understand we understand Abraham was a face-to-face promise with them now Abraham has a son he actually has two sons the first son he has is through the maid servant Hagar and um Hagar produces through and culturally if if the wife is barren which Sarah was that she was that um you know that you could have a surrogate wife and so the maid servant became becomes the concubine of Abraham actually becomes a wife is considered a wife and so she produces a child by the name of Ishmael and Ishmael means God hears and becomes his firstborn um so that brings us to the to the study of the the Abraham when when God says to to Abraham after the birth of Isaac take your one and only son women it's not your one and only son Ishmael which you have another son may Ishmael but now there is the covenant son uniquely born and monogonation in the in the Greek and so um so then Abraham Abraham through Sarah has a son the promised son by the name of Isaac it's shock means laughter and um Isaac the one thing that stands out for me with Isaac is how close is so many parallels and we call this typology theologically um typology and there's so many things about Isaac that you could say uh you could say parallels but I'll say foreshadows Christ uh can you name any what if we look at Isaac and knowing Isaac and um do you know any comparisons between Isaac um Abraham's son and Jesus first uh first he's the promised son as Jesus is a promised son um he is he is announced beforehand the ain't remember the uh the angel of the Lord said to Sarah that you're that this time next year or told Abraham this time next year your wife will have a son so he's pre-pronounced that you want me a son he's named he's named by the Lord the Lord names him he gives them the name Isaac just like Jesus is given the name um when when the the an angel of the Lord says and you will name him Jesus told um Joseph that also you have the the sacrifice of uh so much typology comes with a sacrifice when the Lord when Abraham takes his son his only begotten son his only um his only son takes him to the mountain to be sacrificed and so you have the picture of the the going up on the mountain uh and the resurrection and all that so with with Isaac there's so much parallels as so much foreshadowing of of Jesus and that but he is that promise uh or he is the promised son to Abraham but he's not the one because we find that when when um Abraham takes his son up and the son say well father you know we have the fire we have the wood but where's the sacrifice and um Abraham says that the Lord will provide and will provide the the sacrifice the lamb and which the Lord will and um he takes Isaac up there and it wasn't Isaac that would be sacrificed but it would be a ram that would be caught and that they could picture of of substitutionary atonement um Isaac there's another there's another um parallel that um of the bride that that i think receives a bride who's Isaac's bride? Rebecca very good and there's also some foreshadowing with that as it would be the servant that that will go out and and seek a bride for the promised son as it is the Holy Spirit in our day that's seeking out a bride for for the son our Lord Jesus Christ he's at home with the father and we have now that the Holy Spirit the servant is calling is seeking out the bride for the son and we are the bride so the bride that he finds would be Rebecca very good Isaac I should say also Isaac whereas Abraham had a direct um was directly um encountered the the Lord so will Isaac the Lord came to to Abraham established a covenant now he's going to come to the promised son Isaac and establish his covenant with him um let's look on Genesis chapter 26 and we'll look at verse four 26 verse four we'll bring this up here and this is the Lord speaking he comes to Isaac let me back up a little bit and I don't know how he appears to Isaac but um it says here we'll uh says we're that close to beginning of chapter let's start with verse one now there was a famine in the land besides the previous famine that had occurred in the days of Abraham so Isaac went to Garar to Abimalek king of Philistines the Lord appeared to him and said do not go down to Egypt stay in the land of which I shall tell you sojourn in this land and I will be with you and bless you for to you and to your descendants I will give all these lands and I will establish the oath which I swore to your father Abraham I will multiply your descendants as the stars and the same thing he established with Abraham I will multiply your descendants as the stars of heaven and I will give your descendants all these lands and by your descendants all the nations of the earth shall be blessed because Abraham obeyed me and kept my charge my commandments my statutes and my laws so Isaac lived in Garar when the men of the place at okay and it goes on so there was a direct um a direct um communication the establishment remember that um and this may answer the question why why is it the um people say or you know often say the phrase is the god of Abraham Isaac and Jacob because it is these three that God directly reveals himself to and establishes a covenant that covenant that is that the people that are a part of the people of Israel are a part of all right so that so Isaac would have two sons and we'll back up a little bit into um and the 25 he would have Isaac would have two sons let me see where we're going to start with this um yeah um yeah let's start let's start with 19 here says now these are the records of the generations of Isaac Abraham's son Abraham became the father of Isaac and Isaac was 40 years old when he took Rebekah the daughter of Bethul the our aramian of Padamaran the sister of Laban the um the aramian to be his wife I think prayed to the lord on behalf of his wife because he was barren and the lord answered him and Rebekah his wife conceived one thing that we're going to find out about the matriarchs the ruling mothers in this case we saw it with Sarah in this case we see it Rebekah later on we're going to see it with Rachel all three are going to have problems bearing children in this case Isaac's going to go to the lord and he's going to pray on the behalf of his wife um and so and the lord answered him and Rebekah his wife conceived but the children struggled together within her and she said if it is so if it is so why then am I this way so she went and acquired of the lord and the lord sent her two nations or in your womb the two peoples will be separate from your body the one people shall be stronger than the other uh let's see what that word stronger is in the word um be strong strengthen let's see what the okay oh bring it up a little bigger for you we're going to look at the um strongs on this um to strong alert courageous brave stout bold solid heart to be strong and brave to strengthen just secure okay what people will be stronger than the other the older shall serve the younger normally you know in the time of the right the prima janitor the younger or the elder the firstborn will have the by the right the prima janitor it would receive the blessings and the double portion of the inheritance he would be the he would take over for the patriarchy would have uh he would be the ruling one of the father he would be groomed to do that but in this case the lord says no this is the lord's family this is the lord's people this is the lord's doing so the lord is going to choose the lesser one uh i think it had a lot to do with the with what when jesus talks about later on the first will be last and the last shall be first in this case the younger jakeah will receive the blessing and so it would be the older esau who will serve the younger uh but that's an anticipation 24 when her days to be delivered was fulfilled behold there were twins in her womb now the first came out fourth red and all over like a hairy garment and they named him esau afterward his brother came forth and his hand holding esau's heel so his name was called jakeah and i think was 60 years old when she gave birth jakeah esau would be the man of the world now we read in romans that the lord this is the lord's choosing uh paul talks about this even before they were born before they did anything right or wrong god chose jakeah his his divine sovereign he says i choose him but we also know that um that esau would be the man of the world he would end up marrying um Canaanite women he he had we know that he sold his birth right for uh bowl of soup um and um so the as far as jakeah goes jakeah was no prize himself jakeah was a scoundrel he was a trickster if um and this is this is one of my arguments for people that say that that a person a christian cannot have these characteristics a christian a christian um cannot be the way of the world and yet be a christian well jakeah was a gods man but jakeah was a man of the world i will say man of war esau was but jakeah was he he lied to each stole we know about uh you read about it and how he steals the blessing from um the inheritance from his father by tricking him so there was lying there was cheating there was deception um all from this man but he was yet god's man he's the one that god chose and it was when he stole the blessing the inheritance from his brother esau esau threatened to kill him so he he um ran off there or actually under the guy uh he didn't really run off but under the guise of the uh that mother mother they want to open up the can of worms see Rebecca was all in on tricking her husband on giving the passing on the inheritance to the um younger when it was Isaac who his intention was to give it uh initially to esau so mother was all about this and but she didn't want to open up this can of worms so she goes to her husband Isaac and says hon listen you know um i really don't want i really don't want uh son jakeah to marry Canaanite women can we just send him on up and have back his uh bags and send him up to palmer ram to find a wife you know really she was just trying to protect her son from being killed by her brother you know but um sad sad cave thing was they would send jakeah away and they didn't mean you know and she didn't mean to leave to be with that he would come back soon after i esau's temper wore down sad thing was she would never see jakeah begin now we got this now he's on he's on the run really and he pleased in the first day he makes it about 60 miles so he must have been really booking it and he comes to a place called lus or in other words it's um bethel and let's see i believe that's in 28 and here it is that jakeah has a direct encounter this time this direct encounter will be um with the lord in a dream okay we don't know how Isaac saw god or how he approached god but here jakeah would have a dream so we'll look at genesis 2810 and turn in your bibles to genesis 2810 then jakeah let me see yeah then jakeah departed from betashiba and went to haran he came to a certain place and spent the night there because the sun had set and he took one of the stones of the place and put it under his head laid down in that place he had a dream and behold a ladder was set up on the earth with its top reaching to heaven and behold the angels of god were sending and descending on it and behold the lord stood above it and said i am the lord and um and that would be yahweh i am yahweh the god of your father Abraham and the god of Isaac the land on which again why that why does he point out that i am the god of Abraham that i am the god of Isaac because those two are the two that god had established his covenant with now he's getting ready to establish it with jakeah now remember jakeah this is not about who what jakeah is it's who and what god is because jakeah really does not have any redeeming qualities the only redeeming qualities that jakeah has is that god chose them that's the same thing with you and i the only redeeming qualities we have we are all scoundrels we really are our hearts are desperately sick from birth says says the bible says the lord written in the bible and so we were um that god chose us that our only redeeming quality was the fact that god revealed the gospel to us and the only thing that we did which is it make a non-meritorious decision to trust in the lord Jesus Christ's return of life so amen for god's grace and god's mercy plus none of us deserve salvation but he's going to take jakeah and he's going to use jakeah despite jakeah god will use jakeah and you know what god will use any one of us um i think i heard somebody say one time and i don't think this is mine and i don't know who said it but if if god can talk through um the mouth of an ass um he can certainly use any use any one of us if he can use a a a a mule and work it work his plan through a mule he can he can do he can work wonders with any one of us all right back to first 13 and behold the lord stood above it and said i am the lord the god of your father Abraham and the god of Isaac the land on which you lie i will give it to you and to your descendants your descendants will be also like the dust of the earth he said this to all three of them um to Abraham to Isaac and now to jakeah and you will spread out to the west and the east and to the north and to the south and in you all your descendants shall all the families of the earth will be blessed same thing he said to Abraham behold i am with you and i will keep you wherever you go and will bring you back to this land for i will not leave you until i have done what i have promised ladies and gentlemen very very important there this um this has for proper implications that goes all the way into the um the tribulation very important because this covenant will be established with jakeah and jakeah will find out here pretty soon that he this is israel from him comes these descendants and the promise is established with them and remember these will be a stiff neck people these will be a people that really if you study israel you will scratch your head and you will wonder why god just did not crush them like bugs because of their idol their idoltery and um and they're sacrificing to their own children to um to ball and to their um these were just hideous people and it almost it almost makes you angry and and want to hate them but this is not about them this is about god's covenant and and the lord says here that i will never leave you nor forsake you until i have done i bring you back to this land you get to be talking to for this you get to the you think it's just jakeah but it's not jakeah but it's talking about the people the nation that um and jakeah will be um the nation which is going to be brought back to the land very very important that we understand that i say that because when you hear about the replacement doctrine that god no longer um that israel is no longer god's people that is um lie at best and misinformation and doctrineally inadequate however you want to put it but god is true to his covenant he holds himself but he binds himself by his own words so it's not about the people now there's going to be a large percentage of jakeah israel which will be um which paul says are not israel but they will they will sign a path with the anti-Christ in the future and they will pay the consequences but there will be a remnant the lord always keeps a remnant to himself and and which that promise is going to be fulfilled the promise that he has here with jakeah okay um jakeah will work from his sleep sleep and said how awesome is this place this is none other than the house of god and this is the gate of heaven um he calls this the house of god bethel and um and he worships this place he this is he worships the gate of heaven he the surroundings and um and i think one thing's interesting i was brought out i don't know who brought it out it may have been bentor i don't regret to the other day maybe it was um george witten but when he returns here he worships the house of god but later on when he turn when he comes returns jakeah will worship elf bethel the god of the house of god and his worship um grows up he's going to take a long time for jakeah to grow up he's not going to he's not going to die in his what do you call him he's not going to die he's going to die is Israel he's going to die as as a man of god and he's going to pursue he's going to be like a dog chasing his tail all through his life like many of us who's who's up and down in our spiritual life and sadly there are christians who die never really getting to know the lord but i think jakeah in the end um and read that once again something else you read it for yourself i think jakeah couldn't be in falling kids in okay so jakeah rose in the morning took a stone he had putt under his head and set it up as a pillar and poured the oil on top of it he called the name of the place bethel um however priestly the name of the city had been lost um then jakeah made a vow saying if and we can talk about this it old jakeah if god since god's going to do this i don't know if it's going to be since god is going to do this or if god do if god will fulfill this this is what i'm going to do or since god is going to do this i don't know which one we should take there but if god will do will be with me and will keep me and on this journey that i'll take and will give me food and eat uh to eat and garments to wear and i return to my father's house and safety then the lord will be my god oh thank you jakeah but that's it again when we all when we all get saved you know we have a lot of bonehead notions about god and he was jakeah showing he the bonehead thank you thank you i'm i'm sure the lord will really happy to hear about that jakeah that yeah and i'm sure he'll he'll fulfill his obligations to you so that you so he can have you all right great jake all right this stone which i've said a pillar i will be will be god's house and of all that i you give me i will surely give a tent to you well thank you jakeah how about that all right well that's our time our time is up for this evening thank you for being here we're going to um we'll we'll get to lord will spirit spirit guide next week we'll get to the to the children which is going to formulate the 12 tribes of israel as we continue in our survey of the um as old testament coming into the new um well then you have anything back any parting words or shots all right well then let's we will close it out and prayer then Father in heaven we thank you for this opportunity fellowship in this evening we thank heavenly father we we're praying for george we're
