the one that I'm always right sports podcast I am your host as always the mouth of Michigan robin dike what me is always my co host of the merc zone Mike Merkel he is here we're doing an early episode of the I'm always right sports podcast recording on a Friday this week cuz your boy is busy and Mike is a good co host and decides to make time for me so and he's not loaded show for you guys this week we got a ton of NFL news coming out of the woodwork this week I'm gonna be talking wings and then obviously we've got we've got some NBA prop bets you know how Mike loves to spend that money money money and then we're also talking AEW Wrestle dream WrestleMania five for those of you who are sticking along with us on our time machine journey of the WrestleMania's Wrestle Mania five we will be covering next episode so be on the lookout for that I was actually prepared this week Mike is the one who's not prepared but he gets them all again cuz the last three times before that I was not so he gets them all again WrestleMania five coming at you next week looking forward to talking about that show but Mike let's just jump right in NFL news galore since last time we had an episode before we talk Lions I want to talk these trades so let's talk about the big one of the two I guess if we're gonna say there's one humongous one it's a big splash and then there's like a medium-sized splash Devontae Adams no longer a Las Vegas Raider he is now a wait for it wait for it wait for it wait for it New York Jet um thoughts anything on this he goes over there for a third round pick which can become a second round pick based on some other things that are gonna happen but long story short of it right the the Raiders get out of a lot of money too that's the other big part of this deal right but in terms of you know what is exciting not exciting something anything what what are your thoughts on Devontae Adams going to the Jets mmm clearly Aaron Rodgers is not in control of this team I don't know if you knew that he's not he didn't know he was coming until like the day until he talked to him and said hey guys Joe Douglas can you yeah can you get him I don't even know this isn't even their GM anymore so I can't even say that but either way yeah can you do that yeah yeah apparently so yeah they get him I think it makes so little of a difference that I can't even like put in the words yeah how little of a difference I think this move makes this is what I did I was like I'm not shocked I'm not I'm not like I'm like oh I'm stunned that the Jets made an impulsive decision like this and mmm because everyone's my it's not a pulse bullshit mmm it's clearly not you're hitting the panic button because you've got Rodgers for two years yeah and you're two and four and your offense sucks every fired your head none of these things aligned with a team they're like oh they're clearly have a plan yeah and they're gonna go try and win a Super Bowl that none of this says that yeah and I mean I already think they kind of broke the window this year anyway so you're kind of just they're not good yeah they're not good like having a really good receiver is not gonna help Rodgers stay in the pocket longer cuz they're offense lines too well now that is it but let's and let's let's call a spade a spade here right not the devotee Devont Adams is bad right but he's also not Devont Adams for three years ago yeah just like Rogers isn't the same player from three years ago right yeah these guys get older Devont Adams is not a spring chicken yeah now what I would say is I think if they did have a good offense line which the word is if because they don't but if they had a good offense line I think Devont Adams would be a really good decoy sure Garrett Wilson open going and open which I think because when you if you were a defense and you were like all right how do we guard this no one's double and Garrett Wilson when you have Devont Adams on the other side sure so Garrett Wilson's gonna see a lot of one-on-ones with Devont Adams over there and so I think it's gonna be a I don't think Devont Adams numbers are gonna be that much crazier because I think Garrett Wilson's numbers unless he's just gonna be force feeding him the ball yo that's fair a lot of slant passes are gonna be common a lot of yeah a lot of like fantasy owners you might be getting those eight reception 60 yard game maybe a touchdowns yeah to really help you out but I'm just glad we don't got to play him this year because I don't want to hear I don't want to have a three-hour commentary about Tomatoes and Rogers look at all the stats I don't think it's awesome but yeah so I I mean I think their seasons already kind of dead I think Buffalo are it is just kind of like sure we got this division lock down I think the Jets even if they did sneak a wildcard because their schedules are too difficult true going on the road against Kansas City Baltimore Baltimore Houston or Buffalo yeah I don't think you're winning I only give a good shot in any of those no I don't either no I don't either I think there's a level of dysfunction that's going on in this organization right now and the fact that Devont Adams which it makes me it's so funny now I get it he doesn't have any guaranteed money left on his current deal right but he's like yeah I'd love a long-term deal here I go what I go I'm not paying you a damn I'm not paying you shit until I see how the rest of this year goes because hey I'm already paying you a shit ton of money this year number one number two the next two years you got 35 million coming to you if you're on the roster number three I go I need to see if you can play and more importantly I need to know if I need to dump your ass because Rogers decides to up and quit it just there's a lot of decisions that they've made in the last two years that have not made a lot of sense to me okay you want to go get Rogers fine right but then we're gonna go sign Allen Lazar to a four year forty million dollar contract can't see the field then we're gonna go and we're not gonna we're not gonna address the offensive line despite the fact I mean we're gonna try to but we're gonna sign Tyran Smith's old ass to protect his blind side that's gonna go right according to plan you also didn't really fortify your run game breeze halls been injured right you don't have that true second back right to kind of help allow breeze hall to be their version of a jimira Gibbs compared to you know with a david Montgomery comparison you don't have that so they can't run the ball I will say in terms of that I do like briely and edwards yeah but I think he's like yeah some time away before he becomes sure something yeah that could be a two-headed monster there you and their offense lines aren't good enough to give them holes absolutely yeah be effective and then also right and now I grade it you know they draft it with fashanu right they just draft a fashanu right so maybe you're hoping you something develops right and they have a tucker verb yeah yeah yeah but again right it's not it's not good right and then you couple that with that you hired rogers preferred offensive coordinator right which you've now since demoted and hired and promoted a quarterback coach who was an offensive coordinator I think last year I believe years ago yeah and it didn't end well there either and everyone's like this isn't an upgrade everyone's just kind of like let's just see if this works um I'm waiting for jim bob kooter to get another shot at playcom maybe that'll happen um you fired your head coach right and now you and you're like okay yep now's the time to to trade away more assets after you've already traded assets for asan radek who has decided to not play for you and and you have an agent quarterback who's not playing well and your defense is actively getting worse yeah so it's like I just it's a very hard move to justify if it's very much a panic button we got to do something okay maybe we can recreate that magic for one year because unlike the lions which we'll get to in a second the jets are very much living in the here and now right this moment living day today on aran rogers and can we do this or not I don't think other teams in this window right are are in that same boat so like I get it in the sense of like we've we've literally pushed all our chips in the middle of the table because as soon a rogers is done they're gonna suck again yeah because they're gonna they're not gonna be capital right they're gonna be paying guys because they've kicked the can down the road and other stuff and you're going to pay guys like a Garrett Wilson and if fashan who turns out and breese hall these guys it's just a weird dynamic you know and what I would say too in terms of jet spans but they're kind of the worst no offense yeah they really are the world but like if I was a jet span going into this season because you have such a playoff drought right now sure I think a fair expectation going in as a fair weather right like yeah observer would be just make the playoffs right yeah can we just get there like can you just get there and like have a Pontius chance with Rogers in them like I feel like that's like the bar I right yeah if they would have went like 10 and 7 you'd been like okay and with jet and like with buffalo in the vision I expected Buffalo to win division sure Jets probably two and sneak in as a wild guard if you lose to the Chiefs everyone loses the Chiefs and that's I think would be a good season for the problem is Jets fans have all told me well this seems an agency championship team right this is yeah we're gonna we're gonna Super Bowl yeah it's us it's us in Kansas City right yeah it's what I've heard with she with Jets fans and so then when that's now your expectation right ago where you're not going to touch anywhere near that no and now it's a failure of a season so I think also I think to the defense a little bit though right that's what the team has kind of done to them right and that's what the team is kind of set the expectation is well I'm bringing we're gonna bring in Aaron Rodgers yeah guys we're getting eric Zach Wilson gone yeah Aaron Rodgers is coming which means let's go right and we know what hard knocks can do to a team they were on hard knocks last year and they were getting the team pumping a little yeah exactly and then he gets hurt so then it's got we'll delay that a year but you're like oh just wait till next year you didn't get that full effect of the hard knocks kicking in as a fan right because Rogers got hurt and you're like well the season's over now yeah but like now you're kind of riding that sure you know oh we're we're gonna be so awesome we had another year to get better yeah now we got Rogers back and all this stuff so yeah my expectation I think they still might meet my expectations was to make the playoffs but I don't know just because the AFC is so blah blah in the middle like I can tell you the five yeah sure top teams yeah but then there's a lot of 500 like Cincinnati being two and four yeah could easily go slice into the playoffs when you're in the districts four and two and they're making a quarterback change that's how bad we've seen some offenses play and helps out so bad teams have looked this year we talked about a couple weeks ago we're like everyone just kind of looks like you got the Chiefs yeah and then you got everybody else just kind of like like legitimate is ugly legitimately in the AFC I'm like Baltimore Kansas City Houston Buffalo everyone after that is sitting at 500 at best and it's an absolute crapshoe which is why I do think the Jets could see in because I think they are yeah they're two and four but they can stack wins they're playing an easier schedule right yeah you're not playing that first play schedule right so you're you have that opportunity to go and say hey look maybe we can still do something and piece it together exactly but they have to do it now yeah if they if they go to like two and five or they're like two and six god like if they was another couple here yeah like you're not going to rattle off this this pitch nine not even Sunday night against Pittsburgh right obviously Russell Wilson dots them up yeah obviously when this show comes out we'll know that you guys know the results but if they go into that game and lose mm-hmm now you're two and five or two and five well like that's a tough look but I do think it's good to be well you know Rogers and Devontae right we got to build that synergy back against been a couple years again no but Devontae's got to work on the system this isn't the NBA where you have 80 games to work this out though yeah if a team if a team starts off three and seven the NBA yeah I go okay there's 72 games left sure figure it out sure we keep that same logical talk wings in a minute but when we're talking in a phone you have 17 and you're seven games in in two and five you don't have a lot of you know in five games we'll figure this out okay well in five games you might be two and ten and out of here you know I mean so yeah I think I think Jets are in a world of yeah you better win some games or just gonna get uncomfortable conversations yeah 100 if it's not already it's very uncomfortable now everyone's looking at Rogers like what do we do and Rogers like I'm not controlling anything everyone's like you're a full shit when you when you play the Steelers this week and I believe the Patriots the week after I think or something like that or there's a week in between there something I'm looking up right now let's see New York Jets schedule let's see yep you're a hundred percent right you get Steelers and then they play then they play the Patriots Texans Cardinals that's their next four see realistically it depends how you want I think they need to I mean three and one yeah I'd stop saying I think they need to be three and one okay take the Houston game right say they lose to you because it is a short week right it's a Thursday night right but I think you need to beat the Steelers and then you should debt you should beat New England if you don't beat New England with Drake May and that you talk about a bad offensive line with no weapons um poor bastard and then okay say you go and lose to Houston fine and then the Cardinals have clearly shown that they're not the team of like that on becoming yeah they've been struggling so like yeah offense is fine but yes exactly it's just not working and then you got the Colts and Seahawks again you're playing a whole bunch of games that theoretically you're gonna be favored to win you're gonna favor to beat the Colts you're gonna be favored to beat Seattle probably the way Seattle's playing right now yeah so it's not looking like a heart yeah exactly those teams are dumpster fires yeah so I mean you have some games to win here if you know if you're coming out the next two yeah or two of the next like five yeah it's not you're kind of like mmm like you really need to stack some wins here just having to play Buffalo again you're gonna have dolphins with probably to a bet because that's like a monthly in a month and a half from now sure so it's not gonna be a walk walk yeah sure like yep like Skylar Thompson or whoever Tyler Huntley's back there um he was a pro baller damn it he was a pro he was a pro baller one isn't that doesn't that kill it goes yeah on so many levels like wait wait no offense alliance but when they came out they're like we have 12 pro bowlers I go yeah okay tell me how many all then it was like penays and all pro yeah okay yeah exactly but the pro bowl I go catch me with that one Matthew Stafford was a pro bowl MVP all right that's crazy yeah that's right it's the same thing I feel with the NBA All-Star I'm like I'm like you already know 10 I can name you the top 10 All-Stars right now you know I mean you know well you got Cade right you got J-9 yeah obviously starting to come over yeah I guess he not you know Isaiah Stewart clearly the sixth man of the year we just know it's coming anyway um we'll see where his eyes are yeah those prop bets yeah those prop bets infinity a number on the prop bets good that little ball pretty high don't hit like 20,000 yeah that's enough that's enough that's a billion a billion to one oh my god it's a billion to one I don't even know if you'd put a dollar on that yeah yeah you're just like I think I'd rather just go get a McDonald's Coke with that money yeah that's more well suited anyway uh other trade though speaking of the division though right jets are like hey Devante Adams bills are like oh we just got done beating your ass let's checkmate you and go get a Mario Cooper yeah and I went that is the if we're talking about two teams on two ends of a spectrum yeah could not be farther apart in that regard where I go that move I could not agree with more yeah the compensation nothing literally nothing and then you get a guy who you've seen been productive with Deshaun Watson suck ass throw in the football and then also now you're like oh now Keon Coleman becomes our two and should clear comes the three exactly like oh shit yeah now we got a situation here and now we're looking at Buffalo in a completely different way Josh Allen is having a resurgence this year after a couple down year it's clearly our fault because we thought he was gonna win MVP it's all bad my bad yeah um I heard I think I thought I heard that my homes and Jordan love are also gonna win MVPs together yeah hopefully they're gonna be cool MVP yeah um yeah they can jerk themselves off but anyway um did you get that same darn old love yet yeah no kidding um yeah but you look at Buffalo and that's the kind of move that Buffalo makes we're a team where I go that's a guy that's a team that understands hey look we're playing really well right now yeah and we don't we don't need this but imagine if if the price is right in Cleveland's clearly desperate yeah now you're like man why not this yeah this move is giving me very much like 49ers getting chase young last year moves where I was like nine years getting Christian McCaff or you know oh yeah but she that was like a splash year yeah the the the Chris the chase young one last one was like a fourth round pick and you're like it just sure's up you're already awesome d-line sure like this move for me was like you could probably be fine at wide receiver with what you had yeah because you have to really this was up this was that we're making the playoffs and we need to make sure we have consistency and a guy who's done it yeah that's that's no 100 because I was like you have your two tight ends you have pretty good running back old lines pretty solid if we could just kick Keon Coleman back to number two yeah if we're not relying on Keon Coleman to carry would be perfect yeah and then that's what this move was yeah here's the guy who just runs medium routes right he's just always open runs those out routes consistent hands has been a consistent thousand year of receiver no matter where he's been and you know he's an okay team guy all things consider I can't believe he's on his fourth team by the way it's kind of crazy to think about um but like that was a move where I went that's genius yeah that is a move where you go yep I understand it I get it and it makes all the sense in the world and for the compensation you're just like oh you took advantage of a bad Cleveland team who was in quarterback hell right through their cap situation I can't even I want to throw up looking at it it's terrible. What I love is how they have like 30 million in cap space right now and the next year they're like negative 72 and I'm just like stop kicking the can down the road just accept it um I love the move for Buffalo I think it immediately puts them right back into that contention as that one of those four teams yeah where you're like yep Baltimore we're coming for you you know Ken City we're we're trying you know what I mean like you know I want to say it but like I don't know right um and obviously Houston right we're coming for you so it's like I felt like Buffalo that was a mover ago hey don't forget about us yeah Josh Allen's playing at an MVP level right now now we're going to give him a little bit of help and a team guy who doesn't say a whole lot a lot better than Stefan Diggs yeah no yeah I thought it was a great move I think the only thing Amari Cooper was having this year was he was having some drops these problems um some of them were bad balls some of them were just oh you should probably have caught that yeah so I think other than that yeah which is why I think it was like a much lesser deal because he's dropping a lot but other than that love the move he's older right you know he's you know he's I mean shit one's like one was he drafted it's been a minute right we went to Raiders to Dallas to to Cleveland to here so like but again I think it's a solid move where again now you've got three guys where you go yeah he is he gonna be considered the one in our eyes sure but even if he's not but he's just another threat for Josh Allen yeah now you're just like okay now you've got legit guys on both sides of the ball you're three wide receiver sets look a lot better yeah you're too you're too wide out with your two two wide two tight end sets look a lot nicer and again I think I can't over say now Josh Allen has legitimately taken a massive step forward he's like all right I need to yeah he still has like a game or two where you just go that's just not good yeah like the the game went two weeks ago sure where he went like nine for 40 and I was like you probably shouldn't be doing that yeah other than that yeah awesome he's probably top five in the MVP voting right now oh yeah absolutely maybe top three probably well listen it's going to go Jerigoff mmm Penaisool yeah Dan Campbell somehow I don't know that's crazy how he gets in there no stats Campbell is Brian Branch clearly that's player of the year Aiden Hutchinson RIP but you know and then you can put Josh in there yeah there you go uh but no I love I love the move of Buffalo let's all right let's get to the doom and gloom of the show now not Red Wings that's coming in the same good god um I spent all we I spent that whole show of piping them up and then they come out here and play a turd in front of everybody for the first four games or three games three games four games four games four games anything but four they play the one and three yeah they're one in three yeah they're one in three yeah um but they do play that one team that's all in four so make sure get on Saturday baby anyway let's get to let's talk Lions so Lions Lou first off Lions come off one of the most dominating victories I have ever seen them play like all three phases they just beat the shit out of Dallas and to your point right we talked off here like you better beat this Dallas team they're beat up right there's clearly an idea talk about a team who can't run the ball holy shnikeys that is bad new fairs in so many ways um Dallas looks awful yes right now I'm legit surprised that Mike McCarthy is still employed but I digress Robert Salah two and three fired you know Dallas can't win a game at home or even keep them relatively close that's just let's just see how it goes you know you know well one guy had three previous 12 and five years the other guy can't have a winning season that's fair that's fair that's fair but he's in Dallas and he's supposed to win super that's sure my they're America's team Mike they're America's team right my bad right they can't build a stadium that blocks the sun from shining in your quarterback's eyes but damn it they have helicopters and that's important okay um they have to stop practice so the hell like so there's an owner can land in their practice field via helicopter saw that clip um anyway lions come off a big win against Dallas coming out of the bye right needed um but in the process they lose Aidan Hutchinson for the year broken leg terrible I've read reports now it was a clean break no muscle no ligament nothing damage it's just the bone at this point if they make the Super Bowl there's a chance he plays there right which is crazy to think about because it was gross um not as gross as that Stanford player did you see that injury that was yucky mm-hmm but um not as bad as some of them I've seen but no well the Louisville guy is never gonna be stopped listen him and then Paul George's was pretty gross yeah I mean like Alex Smith I think the thing with Hutchinson's oh Alex Smith was oh my god that's the thing with the thing with Hutch's was it was like in a group of people yeah you couldn't really see it so you couldn't see until they like zoom in slow down on it some of like the Louisville one or like Alex Smith were just kind of like Alex Smith's foot was the wrong way yeah Dax was like because there's an open field yeah so you can just get the clear shot of like wear a car had a gross one too when he heard him like there's been there's been a lot of these the fact that we have examples he's already off the cuff corded haywords yeah like a lot of but they all have been like open court or open field it's like Hutchinson's I like when he went down I was like did he hear his hand that's what I thought I thought he heard his arm because he took his glove off I thought he was I think all he heard his shoulder I thought he like pulled it out of his socket and then and then my uncle we're on a I'm in a big group chat with like my dad my uncle his son and uh my grandpa and we always text like throughout the game right it's the most negative texture ever I am I am rough um but you know and then at the end they're like no we won cool yeah um but I was like oh I think you heard his hand and my uncle goes no it was his leg and then I saw I checked where to go oh shit yeah yeah not good yeah I definitely thought it was the eggs he took the glove off I was like oh that's not that bad yeah all right not great anyway um so they lose him for the year that sucks ass clearly um but let's talk I don't really know is there anything else you really want to talk about in terms of that I don't really know what else it was to say I am not a big fan of running scores up that's my only thing yeah well I mean I can stop it um see I I would like to say that yeah but then if when the lines are bad like forever they have been and they have done it I know but like I want teams to stop running it up on us well they did they did pull their starters out well I know and that's when they stop yeah up like yeah like golf's playing when they're up like 40 yeah why yeah well you know at one point right it was like okay they just kept kicking field goals I listen I get it to some extent when it was like 31 to 6 I like whole people yeah this team is they were so you've seen you've seen teams come back they are so not lying to play this game oh my god yeah like like the start of the third quarter I was like when they scored I was like oh it's yeah I know I was like this team doesn't even want to play anymore yeah it was bad yeah anyway um the the narrative now has come out right of all right Hutchinson's down your Super Bowl window is closed right it's over seasons over everybody's dead everything's over can't do it you're not allowed i didn't hudg since done you already lost Marcus Davenport who everybody hated at the beginning when they signed him anyway but you've lost your two starting dns you're not a football team anymore you might as well just play soccer and go play rexum for Ryan Reynolds okay that's that's it if you listen to Detroit sports radio nowadays that is the narrative is that um that's okay um so this is naturally brought up the conversation of okay what are the lines going to do now they signed Isaiah Thomas a defensive end office since then his practice squad I know called your breath crazy the Isaiah Thomas the Isaiah Thomas and listen there's no bad Isaiah Thomas in Detroit okay it all works out Chicago not so much but it's fine um but the the question now is right and let's we we got to have it because this is what we do right a you know do you think they need to make a move or an additional one i guess whatever right a any an impactful move and then be how impactful do you want them to be yeah right and are you okay with what that potentially could look like right so let's just set the stage right let's just get the big ones out of the way right now Max Crosby yeah Miles Garrett and Asan Radik right those are the three names that a lot of people are like you know losing their mind over right now right um I'll let you go first I have a lot of thoughts on this in terms of what I think they're gonna do right and if you want to go with what you'd like and then what you think they're actually going to do please go ahead and go that route with it but there's a lot of stuff coming out on the airways right now and it makes for sexy radio right of course oh my gosh can you imagine if they do X yeah of course right we talked about earlier what are they traded for Devontay Adams am I gonna be mad about it no i'm not gonna be mad about it is it cool in the moment sure yeah two years from now we're like man I kind of wish I would have had that pick maybe so right it's it's all whatever I understand um thoughts on do they make a move right would you like to see them do that do you want to see them go after that that sexy name give me kind of give me thoughts uh well my initial thought is I kind of want to see this Minnesota game first okay and maybe that's not the popular and if they come out just beat the shit out of Minnesota this week so that's the thing is if the defense looks fine fine to good right i mean i'll allow 40 points yeah then i go okay but maybe let's not go crazy sure let's not like throw the brakes off of this yeah because maybe they can handle their own losing one player right i understand it's probably the best defensive player you have a long shot oh of course but like yeah but he was defensive like if we're being honest right through for five six weeks he's probably defensively he's an easily top two three with like tj watt and yeah name another guy yep um but so i want to see the Minnesota game first because it's a good litmus test and i think they do too let's be clear i do think they do too because like i said do well i don't think they go super crazy if they just get blown up by 40 points i think it's maybe we make a move right and because of that like if darlin just sits back there i'll take him apart yeah if he sit back there he has all day to throw and they score on the first three drives effortlessly and you're like we have no pass rush to speak of at all it's even hard for me to say that because that happens so often against an air and glenn defense so it's like well it's the offense playing well all right well this is just a normal lion's game you know what i mean you're like even if hutch is out there it's like hutch had six had six sacks in a game but we still didn't win so i was gonna say even if this looks like a chargers game where it's like 47 44 yeah i'm not gonna be like i don't love the defense you know the offense will cost them because that's how it usually is yep so i kind of want to see the minnesota game yeah i would be definitely open to trading yeah um i would like max cross we would be awesome and i say that because i would faint just so no matter what the compensation is one he's awesome yeah to him and hutch like next year and years forward unbelievable you know the best offensive line and the best offensive line in football pretty much you know i mean like even the writers the niners don't have that second piece yeah to really get there yeah so that would be awesome and if the compensation was kind of a lot i honestly trust brad homes with the picks he would have sure to find talent that you would need to suffice because i think realistically if you're like okay this seems an nsc championship team hypothetically right and you go get max crossby dang it we lose our 28th overall pick yeah like how many great stud players are we getting at the 28th pick if you're talking we lose our top five pick maybe slightly different story sure but because you think this seems gonna be good right yeah the second best team in the nfc record wise right now exactly and now you might can argue they're the best playing team right now they'll be minnesota on sunday which by the time you guys hear this show you'll know the result of that they could be the number one team in the nfc yeah so i want to see the sense in that regard um he seems very much and listen you know i'm all four players getting their money but the lions want guys that are going to fit a certain culture and that's been glaringly obvious to us at this point if you haven't noticed um so i don't think is honoritic i know they've made calls so maybe that is maybe he's the easiest to acquire maybe that's why they've made that call if they got him i wouldn't be upset right but i think that's the one where i go what's the compensation right and how much are they gonna pay him because i do think that would come with a contract extension and i don't know if they know if that's the the right way to go um miles garret super intriguing to me um i don't know if i don't know if the browns would do it though i just don't i think they're still trying to hang their hat a little bit on their defense maybe trying to save them while they figure out this quarterback situation um yeah miles that's really hard if you're cleveland be to play he's made comments before that if he was playing for somebody other than the rares he'd like to be in Detroit he's from Detroit um and i think the raiders are a little bit vulnerable right now i very much think that if max cross v is even the least unhappy right now at like the bare minimum right if they can somehow get the raiders to go look he's gonna want out or if max cross v himself goes look you know what i kind of want to leave right now all of a sudden that helps the lions immensely in terms of negotiation um i just think it's hard to kind of project brad homes at this point based on what we have historically for him to go make this big of a swing right um and the other thing too and i'm glad you brought up the draft stuff right because it's like okay well you know if it's the 28th pick right and that you have to give a first a way to get a miles gear or am i those the only two guys by the way that i'm willing to even remotely think about trading away a first round like roger's did right is i want to go to new york then maybe that helps detroit considerably the odds of that happening though probably not likely um i do want to get into this narrative though that the lion's window is closed do you think that this is just completely shot their super bowl hopes at this point i don't think it's helped obviously but i i can't say that just all because they lost and listen i get it he's their best defensive player i understand that but at the same time this is why you have a team and this is like i still think they're good enough to get there i guess is my point is it gonna be easier of course not but it wasn't gonna be easy with hutch right there's there's schedules not is not a cake walk you know everyone in chicago right now is glowing at foreign to while you're beating up carolina they don't have an easy game on this schedule for the most part right you got through one in arizona you got one in ten to see that's about it you know um i still think the window and the ceiling is there and i still think that they're they have the ability to do that yeah i think it's harder i think it puts more stress on your offense because i think your offense has got to be awesome a lot more often but i do think you've added depth in your secondary and you've seen this depth kind of play out i think you have the right now currently i think you have the best safety can i'm in the league right now playing in kirby joseph brian branch i don't think come together i don't think there's another safety duo playing at the time of level that they are right now i think that you have enough i just don't know if it's just going to be this cake walk that everyone all of a sudden makes it out to me now that you've lost hutch i think you need to find the production sure i maybe change some shit up but i do think that you still are a very good football team yeah i mean i think it's like if they had hutch and they played the chief who are you taking chiefs okay then right so it's like you know i what i would say is i think the road will be difficult more difficult not in terms of team wise in terms of like oh you don't have your best defensive player so obviously it gets harder right i think in terms of like i think there's a more of a chance that you lose a few more games on the regular season because of this sure which in turn makes your road harder makes your road harder because i don't get that home playoff game i think instead of maybe winning the division like everyone thought you were maybe now you're the five or six seed sure because minnesota keeps winning and they're you know super healthy yeah for the pack or suit their thing or whatever and now going on the road to Tampa and then going on the road to the Niners or the eat like yeah having these road games and saying i'm going oh we get to host the Rams and then host Tampa they don't play like i just think your road of games might be harder because without hutch you lose a game or two extra because you don't get that guy to make that play exactly yeah so i think in terms of that it gets more difficult but in terms of pre-hutch injury if you went through the top teams and said who would you take lions or this team and then post-hutch injury who would you say who would you take this team or the lions i don't think the amount of teams yeah drastically changes no i i would say like i think some of the teams like minnesota green bay yeah maybe the 49ers yeah or some of the teams where it's like i'm a little more 50-50 like i think like the packers would be like i think we could beat them yeah without hutch i go i still think you can beat them but i would sure like hutch there 75-25 to like 64 you know i mean absolutely but like Tampa i still think you go and beat Tampa without hutch yeah you know i mean like yep anyone in the east i think you can go in and beat and you went for the afc side i don't think you can beat ball tomorrow but i think you and have the numbers and everything um i think he's gonna i think he's going to take his game not necessarily to another level but i think more people are gonna go and take notice of the fact that match he had against mgf where he loses literally everybody interferes and he still loses you know like that was rough uh he's been hurt obviously which hasn't helped i thought this was a really solid opener i think i think the crowd got into it um i think i expect jay white to be a huge player maybe he takes the to cast a role that maybe he thought be based off of what's happened we'll see um we're just gonna win it but it's fine yeah i don't know i think uh well we'll get that i want but yeah i know this is really good this man's really good i like the um you know why it worked though is because they worked a jay white style match they did and they didn't they allowed that to build and to grow right and i think hangman is really finding his his kind of his feet as he's yeah he's finding his heel he like he right now and i think jay white is so good at like baby facing that's not normal baby facing jay white is a is a very versatile performance yes that's why i thought he would work so much better than w e yeah well because like his met like he doesn't do the whole like let's go guys no no he never touches no he's just funny but he's just ungod he's like the mjf in the ring that i was about says like he him and mjf have a very similar style in approaching their baby face runs yeah is it's they're the same person but now you find it funny because now they're being sarcastic yeah exactly so i thought i thought this works yep i thought this match was great yep uh next up we had the aew women's world title match we had mariah may and willo nightingale oh by the way jay white match had four stars by the melter meter sure um mariah may not will nightingale this match went ten minutes fifty seconds mariah may gets the win to a shock of nobody um this match got three and a half stars on the melter meter i thought they did a tremendous job i really do the sound ten minutes you said ten fifty felt longer than ten but maybe that's just because i was sleepy i don't know um but i thought this match delivered yep i thought honestly it was a little bit early for willow but maybe that's just you know my personal preference um but i thought this match delivered i think you're making mariah may look like a credible champion yeah thought i thought they did a really nice you came out such a hot opener i was like oh this man's gonna die on the vine yeah didn't happen and i i was really happy to see it this is really good really unfortunate that her presser afterwards no one has to single question for her but yeah i was like what how do you not have something why would you even bring her up there yeah well like why don't you have like three plants in there that would be like hey you know talk to me about you know what's your future what you've seen tony storms doing some stuff in mexica some yeah i could have pulled something yeah they literally just sat there and she was like anybody anybody no okay and got up and left i was like yeah what just happened i was like why does this happen and i think i think i think this is part of the reason because you i think if you would have brought if any other tag team besides the young box would have gone up there right as tag camp i don't think anybody would have really said anything either no probably not um all right next up tnt title match a little bit of a lull on the show in my opinion yeah this is not great uh jack perry beating shabato with the whole chokamau chokamau basically passes out boy you pinned to that same time clip finish which i got not shot literally in the slightest that that was the finish no didn't mind the actual finish i thought it was at least creative in a sense of like okay but is jack ever going to win a match like normal it probably not you know i mean you want a ladder match to win the title right what is he like i don't know i just you want the you want the casket match match and stuff like it's been intense this was a match where i go these are the matches that i you deal with on shows that are not primary shows that you have to just kind of get through because you want to have them on the show i was just saying this is a russell dream middle of the match yes this is my berry Corbin versus you know a plumber yeah as a as a middle of the match for like this he's been going on on smackdown and he goes no one's watching smackdown and i'll give ww the pro to this sure with their five match cards right you have none of this match is not on here no no no it matches a smackdown match or raw match correct in that sense yes but i also like that they get pay per view well yeah we got nine minutes so no no anything i don't think it dragged on i don't think that i think they were i think it was hampered by the fact they couldn't follow what that was preceding them and also shabada doesn't speak english and that really hurts him yeah it really hurts him because you don't feel that same connection to him whatever you everyone online which is like the worst crowd ever so maybe it's not the greatest pole for this yeah but everyone online was like their whole build up would have been better if he just spoke like it said i three-way we had osprey defending obviously he gets ricochet and keshka this match got five and a half stars so yeah shock melts are loved it melts are loved it shocker too nobody yes um this match goes crazy crazy flippy dippies going through tables killing each other to keshka gave some elbows that's like scared me i was like dude those elbows are crazy he had a clothesline i think on ricochet at the end where i was like good god i was like he's just getting i'm like how long is this match gonna go i know i was like i was like we're 15 minutes in and he just hurled this man with the like with that and the elbows and i was like so these people are dead yeah uh but the big thing was uh don calo's tries to interfere right um didn't lance archer no i don't think this was the lance archer yeah it was calf lecture they came out calf lecture comes out hits will with the the screwdriver to gosh get hits him with the knee and pins him so we have a new international champion the entire three kind of went no no no and not because we're not famous to keshka complete opposite we just had bigger plans for keshka and other things that i was wishing for takashka yeah um but yeah so takashka does this i thought this match was awesome it didn't you know no i did i thought it was really good um i still think they didn't feel like ricki i thought they did a nice job of trying to make it feel like ricochet had a chance to win it uh despite the fact that none of the crowd at any point was like oh and they're like they're just waiting they're like okay when any time will in leaf wrestling show thing and he's defending it there yep you'll probably go back to new japan and do some shows there i imagine he's at Russell kingdom i like the fact that you have a true faction then maybe like after full gear or like right before world zen he comes back yeah him and flasher have a nice match my my big my big fear is that him and flasher gonna work the next pay-per-view he beats him and then that's just the end of it i'm worried about that too yeah but i do think with the whole family thing yeah i think he's going to be going through everybody sure i think he's going to have another one with cage another one with archer and that's and that's cool to build back up to how you for to catch good down the line do of yeah a second third whatever you want to call it so i don't think they need him in the continental classic i don't think you need because here's the thing if you put him in the continental classic you're just gonna have him lose the whole time yeah because he can't we can't lose no at least until he gets to the final like if ocata beats i was fine final or something you know i mean like that that doesn't really work with the way you're trying to build him because at some point again as much as i i commend osprey for being like look i can i can lose right like i don't need to beat everybody i get that for you yeah you can but as an audience here and again i think we need to start leaning into some of these guys that you did bring in to help kind of refresh your top-of-card level of people i guess right so and it calls a dark horse for me nana and whatnot and they're standing in the ring and at one point and then like mvp and sheltering come out yep and they're standing there and swerve at one point is like you know you cost me or you were you were part of the reason why i lost it all in you were part of the reason my house burned down and he's saying all this stuff and i was like if you don't acknowledge that he was there when you won the title and everything right i'm like what are we doing yeah i was i was also yeah Mike i'm like but also that's what i was like also if you just like turn and you're done with him after all i'll be like you just missed out on like five years of what you were doing with him sure but then they finally were like but i wouldn't have won the title without you so long story short this whole segment was mvp trying to get swerve to come into his group swerves like i'm staying with prince nana screw you and now they're having a match like week and a half yeah so i thought this segment dragged i thought this could have waited until right in my head this was uh everyone and their mom was like so bobby lash he's coming out right now that was my other thought i go and that was about sales i go because if you were going to do this on pay-per-view then i was ready i was like then you should have had bobby debut attack him they stand over me at the end stage apparently too like you was like ready to go and they were like now we're not going to so if you're not going to have bobby out here right or wait to debut shelt Benjamin that's and the Benjamin jumps him right and now it's that so i was like kind of a wasted opportunity i like the fact again this is another another way to get another top guy in a meaningful story that has some depth to it and has some has some runway royal rampage things right we saw the one that he beat Darby in Darby being him so like it was like kind of like a culmination of of their rivalry it was we don't know what to do with Darby yet and we got to set him on the path while we wait for my this was uh he was supposed to win the championship tonight but we had other plans so let's put him in this true true true Brian went i don't want to lose to him i want to lose to that guy and there way goes okay sounds good yeah uh tag team match we had the bucks we had a private party um match was fine it was a match for sure bucks yeah had a hard time getting into it just because i have no faith in private party yeah you haven't done enough yet i will say post-match yeah gave him something because sure all the last two weeks everyone's been like i could be your manager i can i can manage you guys championships right and they're like no no no we can do it ourselves losing and having all of like the managers kind of sitting there and just kind of looking i mean like maybe we do need one of you guys yeah and then maybe that can get us over the hump yeah sure close match i think it was again more story yeah i think it was interesting we're giving people a reason to tune in and make me go okay where are we going with this is something that we've been missing on a consistent basis outside you like your primary story which they always do a nice job of yeah some of the secondary stuff we kind of gets a little bit washed away we're emphasizing talent by putting them and stuff that where we go huh where's this gonna go holy shit is this really apology to her is gonna come maybe what's this match homemade event yes ring of honor yes all right yes bark brisko jay great share over delivered over delivered in my opinion i thought this match was really solid i legit like they worked well together i thought they told a great story i thought Jericho had it one at one point then he didn't which i was a little bumped out about but i was like i we made fun of this match i thought this match was really good all right thoughts yeah am i am i overplaying it like i think this is better than anything Jericho's done with hook yeah that's not a hard bar no um i think that's the best match Jericho's had probably about six months probably yeah i think i thought this was really good i thought it was honestly i thought this match was better than his one with osprey only because she was allowed to work his style yeah as compared to trying to speed up to osprey style yeah no i think this match is really good and i think um the story of like the second he hit the J driller at mark was like sure i know loosen that shit yeah that he like went psycho he had him he had him with the Judas effect and he said no i'm gonna be that guy i thought it worked i thought it worked i really did yeah one of the matches it was like the throwaway match when it when it hits you're like oh this card really yeah solenifies like the card when like the matches you don't think hit yeah okay i thought i was going in as i go man this is gonna semi-main i was like oh god this is man diva's tag match like feels that's what i was getting and then they delivered i thought it was great yep and then a main event time daniel did they just say they're gonna get a rematch in a ladder match is that what i had a war ladder war okay so mark's gonna die mark is gonna they're gonna push him and Jericho's gonna win the title card got it uh that should we just how do we apply can we apply to write for this because it's very obvious that we have plans brian and adam colle would have been champion this entire time but man with the boom on angle interim brian daniel sim yep john mox was a wrestler he's not dead no are you sure i don't know um 26 minutes 52 seconds yep of match happens and moxley won okay let me ask you this yeah okay not to be a debbie downer you're gonna be a debbie downer though a little bit okay did you ever feel like brian ever was gonna win this match absolutely okay all right that was my only critique that's my like i thought it was fine thought it was solid right but i was like man we're just waiting for brian to die so here's the thing this is a dirt sheet behind the scene ruins it ruins it yeah hardcore so i think the people in the audience and i think some people like at home really was because they built it up as sure when he loses yeah he's like dot so like i think people there were just like no there's no way he loses because they might go to the end of the year or yeah go a little bit longer with the championship because to the dismay that i normally have with long title reigns they kind of played into that where like every title reign has been like nine months so they're like oh brian's gonna hold it for nine months and then drop it at one point he's gonna lose yeah all in or you know double or nothing or something in the middle of the year or whatever and then when you lose it in like five weeks you're like oh that's fast like that's how it happens right so i think that helped in that sense but i never felt that he was gonna win because i knew he was a goner i just i just was like i'm just not feeling it like i could just like it doesn't make any sense to me at all to build moxley if you're going to do this match now yeah you can't have moxley lose here you can't you just can't do it um yeah thought but i do think so i think they're they're flip because the original plan being Darby yeah sure i think the flip to moxley and what moxley and his group are doing is awesome okay i want to talk about that because i agree with you i thought though i thought i was a little bit confused on dynamite when they ran away from i think it was private party i think yeah daniel garcia yeah i didn't understand that mmm it felt a little counterintuitive to kind of how the group has been so far where they're like no we're just gonna we're gonna take on everybody like we're gonna surround the ring we're gonna pull kind of a shieldy nwo type of vibe yeah but we're gonna kill them i would have preferred them for when they had all those baby faces run out like they did at the pay-per-view where Darby ran out this guy ran out this guy ran out this guy ran and they beat the shit out of them yeah i would have preferred to see that sure you know what i mean because then you're you're not you're giving the audience exactly what they don't want right instead that's what made the nwo so awesome at the beginning was you know like a bash to the beach they thought scott hall and nash are just gonna lose right like oh our bait you know mocha man and staying in lugar they're gonna beat them right we're finally gonna overcome instead of getting the complete opposite yeah they beat the shit out of them and beat the crap and then they won and everybody went what the hell's happening i would have and they did that at the pay-per-view so i thought it was a little bit of a weird like divot i guess or deviation you know but i'm agreeing with you i love this i love the group i love the wheeler turn yeah i thought that was really well done where like i felt it was very much what he hesitated okay well he's turning here but i thought the reaction was good i thought the logic behind it raised like sorry dude but like it's almost like i don't want to do this but moxie right i have to do this that kind of thing um thought that was really solid yeah i loved how moxley took the title and threw it in a bag and then didn't give a shit like he didn't carry the bag like while you had it the little nuances like that rego i i could give two shits about that championship right now i am on a bigger mission but i need to have the title to have the power to do what i want to do perfect really good really nice yeah i have no no big issues with it um match was fine i love the opening to the match when they beat each other to the final thousand anyways yeah i i also was i was a little bit irked by that i understood why they did it because the match hadn't officially started yet yeah and i get that but i was also like this is supposed to be serious this is making it unserious for me exactly that's the problem is i was like i'm like turn the music off i go this is supposed to be brian fighting for his life and moxie's like i have to kill you in order to do what i need to do to aew it needs to have that yeah great great hillward thought it hit him right before everyone says the final countdown because everyone including his past yeah yeah exactly no that was good i did enjoy that that was pretty funny um but yeah no uh yeah good angle moxie's moxie's awesome his group is really fun yeah fun fact all heels and as champions right now yeah in aew it's crazy love it weird weird you never you never lean that heavy i've always there's always one right that kind of sticks out right well you know all of them you like them all heels
