MORNING RAY OF SUNSHINE

HOW COMPETITIVE ARE WE?

If we read about the success of any person in our line of work, do we feel threatened? In any social gathering, when we hear someone waxing eloquent about a topic they are well versed in, do we feel the need to chip in, even though we may know diddly squat about it?

(soft music) Your morning ray of sunshine, the Anand Siv Kumar. How competitive are we? It's okay to be a little competitive. But are we becoming the kind who stares at other people in the gym to see how fast they are running, how heavy they are lifting, and then tries to beat them? If you read about the success of any person in a line of work, do we feel threatened? In any social gathering, when we hear someone waxing eloquent about a topic they are well-versed in, do we feel the need to chip in? Even though we may not did least what about it? News flash, we are too competitive. Where's this coming from? Lack of self-worth and self-love, and a scarcity mentality. We feel if other people do things better than us, we won't be loved as. Or that if other people are successful, then we will lose out on the success, glory and love due to us. Hence we put ourselves under immense pressure to be constantly better than everyone else, everywhere, which is impossible. So we fail and then we'll even more shit about ourselves. See the vicious cycle unfolding? Only way out is not acknowledging ourselves. See the good in ourselves, commend ourselves for the things we do. Accept that each person's abilities and journey are unique. Allow ourselves to write our own individual story. Stare at our reflection in the mirror and feel the love and pride for ourselves. Say loudly, you are awesome and I love you just the way you are. Say it till it sinks in, till we feel it. We are awesome. Other people say it. We just need to as well. Sun shine in your day.
