In the news, I'm Ben Toss, the Palestinian Authority has announced the formation of a new cabinet. Karen Shamas has more. The incoming ministers are not well known. However, they include Mohammed Mustafa as Prime Minister, a US-educated economist who has vowed to create a technocratic government that will help to rebuild Gaza. What else national security spokesman John Kirby will be looking for this new government to deliver on policies and to implement those credible and far-reaching reforms and what we've long talked about a revitalized Palestinian Authority and how important that's going to be to eventually delivering results for the Palestinian people. The US wants a revitalized Palestinian Authority to administer a post-war Gaza. Israel's rejected that idea, saying its forces will maintain open-ended security control. And soccer McGonney has the latest on the presidential campaign. Donald Trump has attended the wake of a New York police officer killed during a traffic stop. Trump had to show a campaign contrast with President Biden. Jonathan Diller was the first NYPD officer killed in the line of duty in two years. And as he focuses on crime and his third White House run, Trump did not elaborate, saying simply we've got to toughen it up. And his visit came as President Biden was also in New York, for a fundraiser with former presidents Clinton and Obama. Trump's campaign referred to the trio as "the three stooges attending an elitist event." Biden spoke so when Karine Jean-Pierre earlier took a dig at Trump's own record. "Violet crime surged under the previous administration," saying the Biden administration's efforts have achieved a historic reduction in crime. Sagar McGonney, Washington. Fourth quarter economic growth that revised 3.4 percent. And Wall Street coasted to another winning month and quarter. The S&P adding to it's all time high. This is AP News. Schools in the path of totality are preparing for the solar eclipse. At Riverside School in Cleveland, Ohio, teacher Nancy Morris came up with a mix of planetary models, crafts, and games to help teach her seventh graders about the upcoming eclipse. And then had them teach second graders at the school. This is what Delana Lozana took away. "When the moon goes around the earth, so it becomes dark." An official with the National Science Teaching Association calls it a "teachable moment" with the actual event demonstrating better-than-a-text book, The Phases of the Moon and Eclipses. Some schools are planning field trips. In Portville, New York, 500 students will be bused to an old horse barn where they'll be able to trace the shadow of the eclipse. I'm Jackie Quinn.
