MORNING RAY OF SUNSHINE

LOVE V/S ATTACHMENT

The minute the heart feels love for someone, the ego tries to possess them, put a label of ownership on them. What we dub a 'relationship'. But all the ego is trying to do is hold on. And this brings fear and insecurity into the connection.

Your morning ray of sunshine, the Anand-Sif Kumar, love versus attachment, we often confuse love and attachment, but they really aren't the same. Love comes from the heart and is unconditional, pure. It's just about giving love, giving loving actions, caring, supporting and accepting love if it is offered back. When it comes from ego, the minute the heart feels love for someone, the ego tries to possess them, put a label of ownership on them, what we dub a relationship. But all the ego is trying to do is hold on. Naturally, this brings fear and insecurity into the connection, and that's what interferes with love takes away the purity, simplicity and joy. Think about when we were kids, or just look at a kid around, there are no games, no plotting and planning, they come to everyone and everything with love. Trouble is, the conditioning that comes afterwards, from society, from books and entertainment, from families, it's all about owning, holding on, fitting into a label, but none of that is hot or love, just ego. But yes, change scares us, and hence we want things to persist, continue, but the essence of life is impermanence, accepting and embracing change is liberating and joyous, and the key to being able to love people fully unconditionally, without trying to bind them down or do a bidding. It may sound hard, just loving people and not getting attached, but it is in fact the most sublime and beautiful feeling, and not just with people, with the work we do, the things we love in life, try just feeling love and doing loving actions without expecting something back. The experience will be transformative, sunshine in your day. [music] [music] [music] [music] [music] [music]
