Russia accuses Gurskovich of acting on U.S. orders to collect state secrets but has given no evidence. Just this week it extended his detention until at least June 30th. White House Press Secretary Karin Jean-Pierre earlier this week saying Gurskovich is wrongfully detained. "Journalism is not a crime." President Biden echoed this words in a statement today saying his administration's working every day to secure Gurskovich's freedom. Sagar, Meghani, Washington. This is AP News. The Olympics are coming up in Paris this summer and France is looking for a little help. Charles Teletesma explains. France says it's asked 46 countries if they can supply more than 2,000 police officers to help secure the Paris Olympics. Organizers are finalizing planning for the July 26th, August 11 games. The French capitals first in a century, while on heightened alert against potential attacks, the Interior Ministry says the request for foreign security assistance was made in January. Extras are needed for both games security and what it calls the spectator experience. Adding such assistance is a common practice for major international events separately. The French defense ministry has also asked foreign nations for small numbers of military personnel who could help with tasks including sniffer dog teams. I'm Charles Teletesma. Thank you, Charles.
