--Hi everyone and welcome to another episode of season four in the Vine Connects with your host, Mal. I didn't have anyone been doing the introductions now I don't think about it. With me today I have! Denise! --Chicago! --Yesy! --And we're here today to bring you the good news, the good tidings. Okay so we're gonna continue on with our importation. And so episode three, no episode two, Shekinah and Yesy talked about you know the stuff that they like to impart to people. And so this time it's going to be Denise and I. However we gotta do the panel question. And so the panel question, do you have it up? What is it? Oh have you made new friends this year? --I'm always making friends. --No, the like detected determinant. --Loss them! --Loss them! Okay! --What about you ladies? --I also lost some friends as well, but I did make some new friends actually. We had some newcomers come to the church and they're now on the worship team. So we've been it's just been a blessing honestly. It's totally a God thing. And I remember I remember our very first worship practice together because we all said we're like oh yeah we're all musicians, we're all singers you know. And our very very first practice together we all start singing and she stops and she looks at me and she goes thank God you can sing. I was so nervous and I looked at her I started cracking up just like we were belly laughing laughing so hard. I was like I thought the same thing with you! I was like Lord please let her be able to sing because we're the only two singers right now. And I was like please let her be able to sing. I said I want to carry this team. And then she said like word for word all my concern. She was like I don't want to carry this team. So honestly we just formed a bond. We were so ecstatic. We both heard each other's voices. We blended so well. I'm so excited for this worship team to start forming and coming together. And it was just this it was just it was the funniest moment but it was also just such a heartwarming moment. And from that moment we were just friends. Like we were just like that was the moment that I was just like we are friends now. Yeah and yes she's been amazing. Her husband's been amazing and the team has been coming together great. So yeah I did make some new friends and I'm really proud of the ones that I got to make. Yeah. That's awesome. Yeah I'm strengthening my friendships that I already have. And I'm thankful for them and grateful for them. Even all of you ladies here I've learned so much from you guys. And I feel like I am on another level with you guys. I would hope you guys. I mean it's been a year. And I'm also very thankful because there's a lot of people maybe from like I would say the past that they're you know we're starting to communicate a little bit more. Find different ways to bond whether it's due politics motherhood or just anything you know. So I'm thankful for that because I know God is doing something like why you know why would those relationships come to the surface. So I'm just thankful to see what's going to happen but yes I feel like I've made some friends. You're really good at that and keeping channels open with people that from the past and good things and good ways. Unless I block them. Unless they're blocked. That's the also another theme of this season. For me have I made new friends? Yes but not like I guess acquaintances but we've all made new friends. I don't know. What? You looking at my baby hair? What? She's connected to me. She's caught it. He's caught it. And he's like new friends. Okay. But I think I like the invisible one. Don't count to win to your head. First of all we confer a lot and we all agree all the time so anyway. Friends to heck. Yes. I've definitely strengthened relationships and I think I've created dynamic friendships in the past few months. So that's been good. Alright so moving on. Next to come up is the dating question. So the dating question for this episode is it was a cursing morning. It's swearing a red flag. I like this. Good job Shikwina. Who wants to take it? I'll say yes. Why is it a red flag? Well first of all I don't think it's attractive. Yeah first of all. Second I would say I again it's not attractive. It's not something I would look forward to. Especially if it's just coming up in conversations. And on top of that I've been around some people who literally swear in front of their own children like non-stop or put like swearing music all the time and even these little kids say don't you say a bad word like don't say that and that breaks my heart. Yeah it really does because words are so powerful and even just hearing those words and at such a young age it's just like unnecessary. Yeah. That makes sense. Yeah. Like if you swear at home or whatever that's your thing like don't bring it to the children around especially if they're not your children. Yeah I agree. I would say it's a turn off. I agree. I don't like it. It's like a shelled a lack of self-discipline I think. Yeah for sure. And I understand you grew up with it that's that's like part of your culture, part of your language and but you can definitely learn to change that and yeah and when it becomes a sentence filler it does it just shows to me just just a lack of discipline a lack of intentionality in your speech but even biblically you know don't let any perverse language come from your mouth and squaring. Swearing definitely falls in line with that so yeah I'm not a fan of swearing at all. I'm grateful that I grew up in a home and in a family where there was zero swearing even like those who wouldn't really say that they're like strong Christians they just never swore because that was just that wasn't a part of our culture that was just we never use that. So it was never a habit that I learned or developed and I'm very grateful for that. I got teased a lot in high school and I got teased a lot in some of my workplaces because oh she doesn't swear and like it became like a game let's try to get kind of swear. Yeah that's interesting but you know what honestly I stood firm I have I've never sworn and so yeah definitely that's a conviction for me so I would want my my future spouse to share that same conviction so that we can impart that into our children as well. Okay. I asked that question because I was teased a lot and so a lot of people thought well it's just a word it's just a word it's just a word you know like there's a lot of different words out there and I know that's like that's a common argument that's used or it's just it's part of my family it's a part of my language it's you know but I think as Christians we need to be far more intentional with our language yes it's not even just a swearing there's there's so many other things that we're that we're using there's phrases that we shouldn't be using you know but all the way around I think just swear words are just a genuine real just like horror yeah indication that you're not intentional with your speech yeah I just want to throw this out there because I'm not gonna pretend that I was like perfect but I swore I didn't swear a lot but I swore my husband did I mean he was in the Marines he was inundated with swear words so God literally cleaned his mouth big time like he has never sworn around our kids like he definitely when we started both coming back you know when I came back to Christ and he came to Christ like God really did a miraculous work in both of us and in our language right because at that point we knew we knew better so there is that space for with the person is willing for God to help to redeem and to restore I just want to share that too no I was gonna say that next because it's like there's grace right yeah I mean I have dated people that had that curse into me was just like all right well there's grace because there's that around me there was respect right so there was never like oh well you don't like it well that's too bad right you know I mean there was always that level of respect so I think it really goes case by case right I'm not gonna write somebody off just because I mean I sinned differently right I'm not perfect and so I think having that understanding even the people around me like at work or whatever you know they curse in their personal time but when when I'm in the room they do their best and I want to do it yeah and so I think it comes back to that like I don't necessarily wouldn't I'm sure we can all agree we wouldn't write somebody off because I'm wearing absolutely but I would prefer right and that you wouldn't curse absolutely but yeah yeah so there's that how we understand sometimes people get mad yeah and stub your toe and yeah I guess hey when you grow up with it of course it's gonna slip of course it's gonna it's just part it's it's it's in there and so yeah I'm glad that you brought that up because it's not like I hear once where word I'm just like never mind fun you know like no there is absolute grace it is it is a part of our culture is a part of unfortunately and it's just a part of of what we're dealing with in the world you know yeah all right ladies I'm next Denise hello how are you doing fantastic you doing good good good good could use some coffee but here we are here we are here we are coffee less coffee less but I have water yeah you do each two oh guys thank you drink up drink up how does it go I'm just kidding I'm just kidding okay what is your favorite impartation that you'd like to share my favorite impartation is be about God's business be about the kingdom and all these things will be added on to you I live by that and I have genuinely seen that manifestation of that transpire not just in my life but in my family's life and those women that are that I help and that are that take the council right and that heat it that take it and then actually walk it out and activate it and I've seen people's lives transformed with that simple thing I mean it's a it's like a simple concept but there's a lot of work to it right so yeah I mean through that I love you know teaching women especially women you know about motherhood about wives being a wife you know not wife so being a wife being a mother you know being a proverbs 31 women like that's genuinely what I love to do on a day-to-day basis because I really feel like the proverbs 31 women encompasses that you know being about God's business and in that proverbs 31 woman is a wife she's a mother she's a business like an entrepreneur like she's so many different facets and so just being able to impart that to women life skills I mean I do this on a daily basis with the women that I mentor at the at the resource center that I volunteer at and so I it kind of goes back to a she kind of teaching I love to teach I love to teach because I really love to see women feel empowered I love women to in God I'm in like a godly way right now like this one right this crazy feminist crazy movement but being able to see women reach a potential that they never thought they could physically or emotionally or mentally do do it it makes me happy because now they have the tools right to go ahead and apply it to everything in life not just in one area when you teach a woman how to excel in an area they're able to grab that and apply it to everything else and it's such a trickle effect and then there's just comes this sense of freedom and this sense of empowerment and the sense of just loving life and loving God and everything that comes with it so it's such a well-rounded picture yeah I love that so would you lady say that being about God's business is about being about others mainly yeah absolutely I think Jesus came to serve yeah yeah and so I think putting that into perspective I think is really key yeah because it's absolutely true it's laying your life down right right because kingdom business is laying your life down it's kingdom at hand yeah that it is about a definitely 100% about serving I mean that's what being a wife is that's what being a mother is I mean anything but also it means that you pour into yourself enough to where you're healthy to pour out to others right that's one of the reason it's one of the reasons why I work out that's one of the reasons why as healthy as I can - I don't have cheat dates I do but that's one of the reasons why I go for my runs because in order for me to be about God's business I need to have endurance I need to have stamina I need to have self-control and discipline and each person is able to learn that however they're wired right because we're all wired differently I grew up playing competitive sports so to me naturally working out that just that's how my mental grid is developed so that for me is my outlet right so in order for me to be a servant I need to make sure that I'm equipped spiritually physically mentally emotionally to be able to do that so yes it's about serving others absolutely but also make sure that you're taking care of yourself so that you're doing it from a place where you're healthy and you're gonna be in it for the long run yes I think that I think that is key because people can easily for goal themselves and their health and all that for the sake it's how we hear a lot of ministries failing and falling because the person didn't take care of themselves because they were being too much about the ministry but the ministry is well-rounded yeah right it is taking care of the family first and foremost taking care of your home taking care of you right taking care of your home and then taking care of everything you know the outer outer courts per se but that is key and that is crucial in taking care of yourself because I think Sue actually prayed this today when we ran in church and she was like the endurance to just persevere in all these things because it's true like one thing that the that the enemy will try to do is get you to forfeit I was just gonna say that that was one of the sorry to cut you up but that's one of the things that the Lord showed me last year which is why I started doing things like your work because I'm a big advocate for pro-life right like not aborting the natural but he spoke to me said good your focus on the natural but now I need you to focus on the spiritual because many people are aborting their callings prematurely because they don't have endurance they don't have stamina and I think I've talked to you about this and I love that a Rob actually to taught this today people get healed but they don't have the endurance nor the stamina to sustain that miracle and I know we've talked about it a little bit on the podcast so I really feel like that's my admission in life is to not only help women not abort the physical but also like the spiritual yeah so that's it should kind of and I were actually just talking about this yesterday because we were like what what's happening is that you know there's a the Bible teaches and the in the gospels right that the veil was torn in the temple and so that means that there was access right and so what people don't know what to do is what happens when you have the access it's like for example when you you first get an appointment with the king right but what happens when you're with the king there's a mannerism there's a way that you have to behave there's a way that you have to and Spanish comportarte right where you have to behave and so I think a lot of us we want it's like what I've said before the marriage is a ceremony but the covenant no the wedding is a ceremony but the covenant is the marriage and so a lot of people want the ceremony but they don't know how to take care of the covenant and so that's what it comes down to right it's like okay like teaching them to have the baby right but also how to nurture the baby absolutely care of the baby skills and a lot of us especially in this moment in time we're pressing in for the signs miracles and wonders but it's what A. Rob was teaching a few Sundays ago where it's like you know it's gonna look messy and so when the Holy Spirit breaks out it's never order like I mean it's never gonna look the way that we expect it to look it's gonna look according to what the Holy Spirit wants it to look and I think part of the reason why there hasn't been that kind of breakout in the church is because we wanted to fit into our schedules we wanted to fit into our own mold we wanted to fit into our own ideal of what it should look like but and I wish I could just like take a teaching that I heard this morning and just like to pause it into you guys brings but like the Lord when he was doing miracles what did John say right at the end of his book he said I suppose that if every miracle were written the world cannot contain the volumes of books right written that would be able to chronicle all the miracles so we read like what 10 15 miracles that throughout the gospels but there was thousands upon thousands upon thousands creative miracles that the Lord did right and so going back to what you were saying it's like not aborting it's not just being able to birth but also being able to sustain and so I think that is so good yeah I just want to also add sorry the timing right so when you're really about God's business you key will multiply your time substantially it's so crazy but when he multiplies at time do you have the endurance and the stamina and I've seen God be able to multiply my time because he can trust that I'm gonna endure and then I'm gonna have the stamina to do so yeah and so I just I want to emphasize emphasize because I know a lot of times we like psych ourselves out and it's like what are you doing are you being a good steward of the time that the Lord is giving you right or are you just sitting down like watching TV or not saying you don't right but you can't but it's like what are you doing with that time right are you being a good steward because he's gonna multiply that blessing he's gonna give you seed by seed by seed and if you're you know stewarding that seed properly there's gonna be a great harvest in it so I think that's important it is absolutely I also want to say Denise you've shared before that you know after you you go and you minister to these these women you go back to your car heartbroken oh yeah I cried yeah I do yeah yeah it's like you still do it yeah so I want to just commend her for that and then on top of it I'm sure there's just such a great reward when you hear yeah like God's goodness in their life but the fact that you're you're willing to go in every day and be like I'm gonna get my heart broken today but yeah let's let's do this yeah for sure that's my workout and 110 to be heat yeah quite literally yeah I love it anything else you like that I want to hear about you know yeah so for me one of the things that I am a big advocate for and that I love to impart and I know it's gonna sound really simple but it's really just the concept of strain and I remember this was actually taught to me when I first started coming to the church so to me an intercessory prayer has always been like that's been where I started hearing the Lord's voice and all that good stuff and so I remember you know when you're in that place you just want to hear the Lord and you want to do all these things and you see people moving on ahead and you see all these things but one thing that the Lord has worked with me especially because of my upbringing where it gets really easy to just like abort it gets really easy to just like leave the hard things and stuff it's the concept of stain and it really came I know I talked about this at church once where you know it talks about how Moses would meet with God face-to-face and then he would leave the tent of meeting but Joshua his servant he would stay and he would linger excuse me and I remember when I read that story I was like wait what and I don't know if you guys know this but the story of Joshua is so profound because Joshua was actually able to go up the mountain with Moses when he first encountered the Lord and then so he was able to have those same encounters with God that Moses was having right and he served Moses faithfully and then after that he was the one that was actually able to leave the Israelites into the promised land after Moses was disqualified from doing that and not only that but he was a military man and all these things so it like to me the concept of stain when things get hard when things get rough and the concept of just like learning to stick with your leadership no matter what that to me has been like the biggest thing because I'm like you know what God like I may not be the best at anything but I can definitely be the best at staying and I can definitely be the best at being available and so especially when I was first coming up in the faith to me that's what opened a lot of doors was just making myself available and just being there and was I perfect all the time absolutely not I've definitely have gone in trouble and I've definitely done my stupid things but just staying in God's presence has given me the wisdom to be able to overcome and continue to move forward and honestly stain has actually what has been what has cultivated the best relationships in my life because I and this is boasting on the Lord honestly because in my own flesh there's been many times where I wanted to run away Lord knows but in staying it has proven me faithful and sometimes I don't even know what I'm doing like sometimes you know what we were saying in the last episode where I don't even know how I showed up sometimes you know like some of the opportunities but I just knew that I saw a lot because that's something also that we've been trained in is when you see a lot do something about it right and so it's just doing that it's the concept of stain and learning to hear the Lord the voice of the Lord and pushing through the awkward and pushing through the five senses and pushing through the pain pushing through the uncomfortableness and there's been times where I've been very embarrassed through my own joints there's been times where I've been very humiliated there's been times where like I've had more lows than I've had highs but honestly the way that I've been able to encounter God's presence because of that I go through the embarrassment all over again you know because God can trust you with that and so to me that's what I love to impart and that's I think one of the things that I've even I just because it's closer to home with my knee so I'm like you know just make yourself available and always show up and always leave the place better than how you found it and to see how that has opened the doors for her I'm like do it like I'll do whatever I need to do again like I'll learn to stay all over again if it allows my generations right to be able to move forward in a deeper profound way and in stain right as I've seen my family respect the Lord more I've seen my family come to the knowledge of the Lord more I've seen my family be more aware to the truth of that's going on in the world just because I stayed like it nothing in me it's just allowing the Lord to move in my stain you know and so to me with anything if I could like I can shatter from the rooftop that's learned to linger in the presence of the Lord and to honor leadership in that right because it's not just staying and being dragged along it's staying and finding a way to add on and so again have I been perfect absolutely not but have I been have I tried yes and so I think to me is that thank you. I was really good and you are really good at that you are really good she's our lead intercessor at a church by the way and we definitely get to see that play out in our church in a huge way and she she does is she in part since each each one that shows up for prayer every Sunday morning and she's there faithfully like even a half hour early before no an hour early lately it's been half hour anyway she's faithfully there early just praying for everyone praying for the church and praying on behalf of people and she leads by example and so I love that you shared that because I we get to see it we get to witness it not only do we get to see it but we get to be a part of it and it's just an honor okay so with that being said tip of the week let's see what it is what is it tip of the week is who in your life does something that you wish you were better at huh so for example like how can I say this let's say someone who in your life please does something better than you like that's it for example yeah so somebody that plays basketball really well for the sake of example and you're like okay like I want to learn how to do that how is okay how about let me reward it yes yes yes let me reward this okay find something that you want to be better at and find the person that does that and ask them to impart that into you good good good good better okay the other one sounded a little bit off of you all right so find somebody that you want to learn from and attach yourself to them you're welcome that's what I mean that's the tip of the leech yeah no no leech be a student yeah yeah there you go there you go all right you guys thank you for tuning in we hope that you were blessed by this and we'll see you next week bye wait it's Denise's birthday this weekend yes that's so true to me is proper how do you turn I'm getting a good back to cut what are you gonna do I don't know I don't know yeah make you look didn't make you look at your head to make you yes whatever you do we know it's gonna be good it's gonna be fun yeah sure my husband has something amazing plan that's right he does if we know Mike if we know Mike we know that he does you mean no he does yes she's the same so make sure you guys wish your happy birthday on the section below all right bye you guys thank you for listening if you like this episode or we answered any of your questions or you have a question you would like discussed in future episodes let us know in the comments or share on social media at in the vine dot connects and be sure to hit subscribe so you won't miss out on the amazing content and guess we have lined up for you to find out about our upcoming events and more please visit our website at www.in the find.org.
