I've tracked him down, Jared Nykamp at the Ridge, very busy with what's going on in Eden and his catering and weddings and all of that. But I've found him and he's on the line, "Chef, Jared Nykamp, my favorite chef." Hey Jared, how you doing? Good morning, Michael, are you? I'm doing great and I know things are great at the Ridge, Eden on King's Highway. So we've got to talk about that first and then we've got to talk about something else that's out there on the street, but first, tell us what's happening at the Ridge, where Chaney's was. You're doing some exciting things there, that's great. We are doing some exciting things and I think from my wife and I both, from my bottom of my heart, we want to say thank you to Eden for welcoming us and overwhelming us in such positive ways. I mean, I can't find a day that we've been open that we hadn't had a full parking lot at at least half of the day, so we're very thankful and I mean, we even see repeat customers, they come in for breakfast and then they'll be back in for lunch. So that lets you know you're doing something right. Sure, that's exactly right. Okay, so right now you're open 5.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day at the Ridge on King's Highway in Eden. Kind of give us an overview of what you're doing right now with the food, breakfast and all of that and lunch. Well, so from 5.30 to 3, 7 days a week, you can get made to order breakfast and, you know, we've got your traditional breakfast and then we've added a whole bunch of other things. We've got one of the best avocado toast with Sunnyside eggs if you're into that. We've got a whole new section of Benedict that people have gone bananas for. You know, the fresh hollandaise made every day of our in-house chef and it's just, it's a different breakfast. It's the same and it's different. We've added some really great things and we've also kept the traditional that everybody's looking for. Very excited about that. Now around 11 o'clock every day we open up the buffet and salad bar. So we've got a 30-item fresh salad bar every day, 7 days a week, as well as a lunch buffet every day. That menu changes monthly, so for example, you know, today we've got chicken and dumplings on hand, we've got a bourbon street chicken on hand, cheesy scallop potatoes, my famous green bean casserole, you can't go wrong there, you know, we've got our four cheese mac and cheese, we've got butter corn, biscuits, I mean, and like I said, every day always the 30-item salad bar and people are just really enjoying what we're doing, so we're enjoying having them. Yeah, we are. We're all enjoying the good food there at the Ridge on King's Highway in Eden. Right now, 5.30 a.m. to 3 p.m., but there are lots of rumors out there. People are talking, they love your food, they want more of it, they want you to be open for dinner. So depending on who you talk to, some people say, "Well, he's going to do that one day, maybe next year. I don't know if he's going to do it at all." So I'm calling now to just get your input on that. Can you tell us about your plan? So will you be opening for dinner soon, later, are you doing it at all? So you've called me on a live phone call, mate, to put me on the spot of how we're doing that. Yes, that's the idea. Yes, exactly. I would have to say you're the number one news reporter in Rockingham County. You found the force and you're coming straight to it, right? Well, you're the number one chef, so there we are. We're together. Well, thank you. Okay. If we want to go ahead and put the rumors to rest, we are going to do that. We are going to offer Eden the Ridge afterdarn, we're going to do dinner sessions. Wonderful. That's wonderful news. So that is going to happen. We can confirm that. We can confirm that. We have made our menu. We will not be running buffet every night of the week. We will have a complete made-to-order menu. We will have appetizers to choose from. You'll have a whole list of hand-held flash sandwiches to choose from and a whole list of entrees anywhere from prime rib to chef's catch to our chef's famous spaghetti bolognese and a shrimp campellini. So we will have something for absolutely everyone, even vegan options for those who prefer that as well. No, wonderful. Mm-hmm. Now, on Sunday nights, we will not have a made-to-order menu. We will just run buffet continuously till 7 p.m. All right. But our standard dinner hours will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and then Sunday will be buffet only till 7 p.m. Okay. So it sounds like the menu is done. The hours. Yes, sir. Tuesday through Saturday, 5 to 9, and then Sunday the buffet. So all of that's come together, but do we know, can you say now when this will be starting, dinner at the ridge? Dinner at the ridge, Lord willing and the creeks don't rise. We will begin dinner service open to the public, November Saturday, November 16th. November 16th is the day. Yeah, that's-- All right. We were going to drop it on you soon. Okay. November 16th. All righty. That is wonderful news. So November 16th at 5 p.m., we will be open to the public for dinner service. Okay. All right. So that's getting closer. Oh, my gosh. And Mike, I'll even do you something better. Okay. I'm going to send you-- you will be the first one to have your hands on a full printed dinner menu to post when you feel ready to post that on your face. Wow. Okay. Well-- Exclusives. That's exclusive. We like exclusives here. Yeah. Okay. All right. Well, I'll be looking for that dinner menu, and then I'll get it posted, share that with our viewers as soon as I get it, and people will then know what's going on. All right. All righty, everybody here, ladies and gentlemen, Chef Jarrett Nykamp at the Ridge, and it sounds like it's all coming together there nicely, the menu, the hours, and dinner starting November 16th. Open to the public. Open to the public. I can't wait for you guys to meet our new chef. He is relocated to Eden from Southport, North Carolina. He was the head chef for Oliver's Waterfront down in Southport, and he was going to blow your mind, I promise. Oh, wow. So that's going to be part of the whole new reveal here, the whole new dinner. Absolutely. Absolutely. We're very excited to have him. Well, now, that may explain some of the seafood items you mentioned earlier. That's correct. Yeah. Okay. That's correct. You'll have a fresh catch every week. It could be mine. It could be grouper. It could be sea bass, whatever his fancy is that. Yeah. Does he have a specialty? You can tell us about it. We just wait till we see it on the menu. I think I got to hold it. I got to hold it so you can just see it on the menu. All right. Okay. Well, we'll wait for that one. But we've gotten out of you the date. So that's what everyone wants to know. So that's good. Well, I trust you to get it out to everyone. Yes. We hope to see everybody there. Okay. So now we can come in 5.30 to 3 every day, but coming November 16th dinner at the ridge. And that will be Tuesday through Saturday 5 to 9. Thank you. That's correct. Thank you. Thank you. So get by now, open seven days a week, extending those hours with dinner, coming up mid-November at the ridge. Great food, great service too. In fact, I was licking on their Facebook page earlier and comment there from someone saying, I think your name was Janet, how much they enjoyed. They were there for the Sunday buffet, how much they enjoyed it, and how nice and friendly people are at the ridge. And that is so true. They've got a wonderful staff, great team, lots of familiar faces. You'll remember from Chinese, that's where the ridge is located and they're right there to serve you and they're doing a great job. At the ridge, King's Highway Eden, now 5.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day, seven days a week and starting November 16th, dinner at the ridge, Tuesday through Saturday and Sunday we'll be posting more on that at mikemore.media on our Facebook page there and helping get the news out about the extended hours, dinner coming soon.
