[Music] [Music] [Music] Hello everyone and welcome into another edition of the GSMC College Football Podcast brought to you by the GSMC Sports Network. I'm your host as always Tommy Berzi. It is Thursday, October 24th around here, and we have a great show for you today. We're going to get into that big game this upcoming weekend down there in college station. LSU heads over to Texas A&M for a huge one. We'll break down that one in the first segment. Then we're going to do a couple other ranked matchups. There's quite a few this weekend. We'll get into Notre Dame Navy, a huge game that a lot of people are looking forward to. Then we'll get into Illinois Oregon, another huge game that definitely is a little bit sneaker than I think some people are expecting. Then we'll get into a couple of big 10 games. We'll stay in the big 10 with Oregon. We'll get into Washington, Indiana. A huge one to keep Indiana season alive, but they will be without their starting quarterback and Curtis Work. Then we'll get into Penn State, Wisconsin. A little bit of a sneaky one over there in Madison that could lead to a little bit of a loss in a look-ahead spot for Penn State. Then we'll get into some upset alerts all around the country. There's definitely a number of them, but I have six for you today, including a little bit of a rivalry game that could get a little sketchy for a big 12 contender. Then we'll get into a little bit of a week nine whip around. We will get to that game that happened yesterday tomorrow, but I have a ton of games that I want to update you guys on today to make sure that you guys are prepared for this upcoming weekend. But before we jump in, I do want to remind you all we get tons of questions and comments throughout the show. The best way for you all is to get your question on the screen. We can have fun back and forth here to use that super chat feature at the bottom of the chat on the sports network page. Click on that dollar sign and add a question comment you'd like. Your name and that question will pop up on the screen and we can have fun back and forth here. Definitely want this to be very interactive, so utilize that as you see fit. Also, gsmcpodcast.net is still up and running as well. It does the exact same thing. Either one of those you'd like to use, please do. Definitely helps out me as well as the network. So utilize that and let's jump into this one because it's going to be a really fun one down there in college station. And yes, this is for the top spot in the SEC. These are the only two teams that are undefeated in SEC play thus far. I believe A&M is 4-0, LSU 3-0. So going to be a really, really interesting game. A&M is coming off a win over Mississippi State after the huge one over Missouri a couple of weeks ago at home. And then you have a LSU team that is coming off a game where it feels like their defense has really turned a corner. They played really good football against Ole Miss a couple of weeks ago and then they played a team in Arkansas that a lot of people had pegged them to possibly fall in and they really handled business. From tip to tail, absolutely dominated them and went to work. And it's one of those that set up this incredible matchup. And the big time question here is will Cal Field be the big time factor that it usually is? And obviously it will be a factor. Now Garrett Nussmeyer gave them a little bit of fuel to the fire. He said Cal Field isn't Death Valley now. It's not. And my estimation, Death Valley is a little bit better. But at the end of the day, it does give them a little bit more juice and definitely will play a factor for Garrett Nussmeyer and that offensive line that if you get a couple of pre-snap penalties, you've got to feel pretty good about where you're at. And the other interesting thing to watch is the run game. LSU has really struggled to get that going the way that they wanted to, 81st in the country and yards per game. And then on the other side, you got Labion Moss who's gone over 90 yards in the last four games, definitely becoming one of the best running backs in the SEC. And the big question is not necessarily the running backs because that will be huge. But how did these quarterbacks respond to this big time moment? Because they're both relatively young. Garrett Nussmeyer a little bit further on this career than Connor Wegman. But at the end of the day, keeping them clean is going to be the most important thing. LSU has not allowed the SEC all year and a lot of that has to do with how good Garrett Nussmeyer is at navigating the pocket. And then you have A&M. They've only allowed one sec in the last two weeks. So both offensive lines have really kind of rounded into form. Both pass rushes have very, very high prowess and have the ability to get to the quarterback. So I think at the end of the day, the best more efficient quarterback is likely going to win this game because this game is all about keeping your wits about you handling this atmosphere that's coming at you and handling all of the incredible passrushers and defensive linemen that are going to be coming at you as well. And it's going to be a really good one. You're going to have incredible, incredible stakes in this one because weirdly it feels like if either of these teams lose this one, they're in a weird spot going forward for the CFP because they have a couple of games coming forward. LSU has Bamestal on the schedule. Texas A&M obviously has Texas at the end of the year. They lose both of those. They're right on that cut line. It feels like it feels like 10 and 2 is right where especially in the SEC where that cut line is going to be. And a loss here would be definitely devastating. And it could be a moment for Mike Elko. It could be that moment that kind of sets him up for success throughout his entire career. He's been looking for that huge one, obviously. Missouri was a big time win, but losing no to name at home was a tough one. I think this would obviously offset that and make you feel great about where you are as a program and where you are moving forward. So I think it's one of those games that has so much going into it. It feels like two teams that are playing some of the best football that they've played over the past couple of years, especially that LSU defense led by Whit Weeks. They've been just all over the place, have played really, really good football, but a couple of players to watch here. Aaron Anderson is the first one I want to talk to you about. He's second in receiving yards on the team and when you talk about LSU, it always starts with Kyron Lacey. He's an absolute monster on the outside, one of those 50/50 guys that it's really more of a 70/30/80/20 type guy. But at the end of the day, you do need Aaron Anderson to step up in this game. He's going to be huge for them, just kind of take a little bit of pressure off people. And then you have a ton of other guys that are going to be huge including CJ Daniels and Mason Taylor. And we'll talk about them here in a second. But another guy to watch is Zai Alexander. He is playing really, really good football on the back end of that LSU defense. He's the best coverage corner that they have. I don't think he's allowed to catch in a couple of weeks now, so he's played incredible, incredible football in coming into the season when we had worries about LSU. It started with that back end and they have a number of guys that are stepping up, but none more than Zai Alexander, that's for sure. And then you got Amari Daniels. I think this is a hugely important game for Lavy on Moss in general, but also you got to give him some rest. You got to give him some time to kind of regroup because he's going to be hit by a lot of SEC talents. A lot of guys that absolutely can pack a punch and he's going to have to be ready to roll. So Amari Daniels, that kind of offset third down back that gives you a little bit more in the receiving game. Definitely someone that is going to be hugely important to kind of get this LSU defense just off balance a little bit more than they normally would. And then you have Willy on the other side, kind of these Zai Alexander of Texas A&M, absolutely locked down corner. And he's going to see Kyron Lacey a ton in this game. I don't know if he's going to travel with him or anything like that because plenty of good receivers over on the LSU side, but at the end of the day, oh, excuse me, at the end of the day, he's very, very important to what they do. And I think he's one of those guys that can totally change the way this team plays going forward and could make them into an SEC and maybe even title contender if he can really step up his play towards the end of the year. A couple of ways that LSU needs to, a couple of things that LSU needs to do to get this win. I think the biggest thing for me is spread this defense out. You have so many weapons on that offense. You have four players over 300 yards receiving this year. So many different guys that can hurt them on the offense or on the defensive side of the ball that you got to get people involved. Kyron Lacey, Aaron Anderson, Mason Taylor, CJ Daniels, who has made his way back from an injury and is playing really, really good football right now. All of those guys are going to be hugely important because you need run lane so open. At some point you're going to need to be able to get that run game going with Caden Durham and the only way you can really do that is if you spread out this A&M defense because they are plenty good against the run. And then you got to get mistake free play from Garrett Nusmar. You just have to. He's going to be one of those guys that he's gotten a little bit big for his britches at times. He likes to take that shot. He likes to take that big play. Now he is three to one and turnover touchdown ratio. So not in that or touchdown turnover ratio. He is three touchdowns to one turnover. So he's playing more than fine in that respect. But to be fair, this A&M team has eight interceptions on the year plus five in the turnover margin. One of those things where if Garrett Nusmar makes a couple of mistakes, he throws the ball into a couple of tight windows, which he has been known to do, you could get into a little bit of trouble and then you got an A&M team that can just lean on you with Lavy on Moss in this offensive line. So definitely something to watch there. I think if Garrett Nusmar can stay off the board with interceptions and fumbles, it's going to be really tough to slow down this LSU offensive your A&M and then you got to get Connor Wegman. Excuse me. You got to get Connor Wegman office spot. You very badly do. This is a very aggressive intense LSU pass rush that averages four sacks a game. So they're getting after people. They're doing an incredible job at getting after people down after down. The thing is Connor Wegman is very, very good when he's allowed to stand in there and make the right read, make the right play. If you push him off the spot and make him leave the pocket and make throws on the run, things get a little bit sketchier. He's capable of making those plays, but definitely not quite where you want it to be. So it's one of those things where you're just going to have to be able to get to this kid and they've been incredible at doing that thus far. This is probably one of the better offensive lines that they faced during the last little bit. But at the end of the day, definitely a group that attacks in so many different ways and with the way that Blake Baker dials up blitzes, it's going to be really tough for A&M to be able to stop them. But if they can, then Connor Wegman might just be able to dissect this defense. And then on the other side for A&M, you got to find a way to get to Garrett Nussmeyer. You have to be able to heat him up at some point in this game because when he is, he is obviously solid at limiting turnovers. We just talked about that. But when you get pressure on him, he only completes 40% of his passes. He has one touchdown to three INTs. Finding a way to get home is going to be huge. So Nick Skowerten, Solomon Deschildes, a lot of these guys, Cassius Howell, a lot of these guys that are hugely important to the pass rush for A&M are going to have to win some one-on-one matchups against some really good offensive tackles to guys that I fully expect to go in the first round of NFL Draft. So definitely going to be something to watch here. If they can get to Garrett Nussmeyer, then maybe you can get some of those mistakes that we talked about a second ago. But establishing the run early is going to be another part of this. A&M does not want to play from behind in this game. I can promise you that. They absolutely want to be able to play in front, set the pace, set the tempo of this one in. They have a really good running back to do it. Lavial Moss has been incredible in the last four games, over 90 yards in each of them, becoming one of the best players or best running backs in the SEC and A&M has been very, very good at getting that run going, opening doors for Connor Wegman Downfield. If they can't do that in this game, then LSU is going to be able to sit a bunch of guys back in coverage and mistakes are going to come at some point. So they got to get that run game going early. They have to open windows for Connor Wegman to throw into. And to be fair, they do have the running back that absolutely can get that done in Lavial Moss. And then I think an interesting thing here is, I want them to trust their D line against the run. There are so many different things that LSU poses to you on defense that you're going to have to deal with. And their pass protection is downright elite. Their run blocking is not so elite. So that's definitely something to watch here. Maybe the D line for A&M can just stand four guys right up front, be able to stop this run. They're only allowing 105 a loud run rush yards per game. Excuse me. But the reality is you're going to need more guys back in the pass game. That's the only way you're going to get a couple of these mistakes from Connor from Garrett Nussmeyer is to sit guys back in the pass game, be able to handle the run with your front five, your front six, maybe even your front seven, depending on how you feel. And it's definitely something that you're going to have to be able to do because if you like Garrett Nussmeyer have some time to work back there or if you let this run game get going, there's no chance you're going to be able to stop LSU. I can almost promise you that. And I think this one's going to be a little bit of a slug fest, but I do like LSU in this game. I think LSU has the quarterback that I feel a little bit more confident to make those big time plays in the in that moment. And I think when you look at this LSU defense, they're really swarming. And I think it is a A&M offensive line that has been great. If they can't fully stop this LSU pass rush with no one has been able to do yet, it's going to be really tough to get Connor Ragman going. And I don't think they're really going to be able to. So I am going to take LSU in that game should be a really, really fun one down there in College Station. And whoever wins it is in a very, very good spot going forward in the CFP and in the SEC, sitting atop that conference and definitely will be one of the teams that can make it over there to Atlanta at the end of the year. But let's take our first break here. And when we come back, we got a couple of ranked matchups to break down for you. Notre Dame, Navy, Illinois, Oregon, two games that are a little bit sneaky and definitely could be really fun this upcoming weekend. So we'll break them down right after this. Breaking news. There's everybody in the world dying." All righty. Welcome back everyone. We just broke down that big game down there and called Station LSU heads over to Texas A&M for a big time one in the SEC that we'll decide who is the top team in the SEC moving forward. I do have LSU in that game. I think it's going to be a little bit of a slugfest, a little bit sluggish to start, but I think LSU makes the plays down the stretch to win that game. Incredible one down there and cannot wait for it, but we got a couple other ones that we got to get into real quickly here because Notre Dame Navy is one of those games that I think everyone's looking forward to quite a bit and I think tons of people are pulling for Navy for obvious reasons. We love the story and not a lot of people love Notre Dame. I think that's the reality of college football and Notre Dame is more than fine with that, but no doubt about it. This is an elimination game for the CFP. Whoever loses this game is probably out of the CFP hunt. Maybe Navy has an outside path if they can lose this game and then continue on and win the rest of the way. I don't necessarily see that as a reality, so definitely something to watch there, but definitely a must win on both sides. They need this one and if Navy can get it, it would be one of the defining wins of their entire program's history, but this one will be decided on the ground. No doubt about that. I mean, when you look at Notre Dame runs 55% of the time, Navy sits at number two in the country running about 77% of the time. So a lot of run plays in this game, a little bit of a short game, maybe a little bit low scoring, but at the end of the day, it's going to come down to just who can execute that playing the best, who can get that run game going better, who can block up front a little bit more consistently in more than anything else, who cannot miss the assignment that they very much need to make, especially on the Notre Dame side. And it does help when they have athletes just all over the place. They're just absolutely out of this world all over the place with the athletes on this defense Xavier Watts is incredible coming down from the third level. You have Jack Kaiser in the middle that's playing really, really good football. You have a number of Jay Nossberry played great plays great football, Howard Cross and Riley Mills in the middle are absolute nightmares to deal with. So they're going to be more than fine now losing Benjamin Morrison doesn't necessarily help with a setting of the edge in this game. So definitely something to watch, but let's be honest, he wasn't necessarily going to have to cover too much in this game. So that's definitely something to watch as we head into this one. But a couple of players that I'm interested in Eli Heidenreich is a very important player for what Navy does. He had 201 total yards against Air Force a couple of weeks ago, and he's the leading receiver on this team. He is what they call kind of a outback or a a be back depending on the way you look at it. There's a number of different kind of terminologies for a wing back you can play around with that term, but he's one of those guys that you'll see kind of lined up in sort of a tight end type position, but then he'll kind of go around the edge, he'll catch a pitch, he'll go down the field and catch a wheel route, he'll catch a seam, he'll do a number of different things. Probably the most versatile guy on this team and he's definitely someone that they're going to need on Saturday just to catch Notre Dame off guard just a couple of times here. And then to Sean Peel, he's been incredible for this team. And even last week, two pick sixes, which is absolutely insane. They might just need one in this game. And if you can get Riley Leonard to make a couple of mistakes, then this thing gets interesting in a hurry. But him as well as Ray online, that's the name I'm looking for. Ray online are really, really good corners on the back end of that Navy defense and definitely could bait them into a couple of mistakes throughout this game. But on the other side, Jadarion Price is huge to me in this game. He has 329 rushing yards on the season, is the backup to Jeremiah Love. The big thing here for me is he is the bruiser of these two. And I think when you look at this game overall, Navy is more than capable of keeping up from a schematic perspective or an execution perspective. From a physicality perspective, they're probably not. So I wouldn't necessarily be too surprised if they ran out to Jadarion Price for the first five plays of this game, ran him right up the middle and said, we're just going to beat you. We're going to bruise you until you quit. And that's going to be the way we go about business. So would not be surprised about that at all. And then on the other side, you got another bruiser that wears number 24. Jack Kaiser is huge for this game for so many different reasons. He's the leader of this defense in a number of different ways. But I believe he is the communicator on this defense. And when you play Navy, communication is the number one thing you absolutely have to have everyone where they need to be at the at the snap. And then everyone's got to get to the ball and a hurry because they can get past you and then make you pay. And it will be very, very interesting. If those linebackers are not where they're supposed to be, because then you could get a Navy offense that really gets rolling downhill. And that's the last thing that Notre Dame wants to see in this game. But a couple of keys to the game, can Navy hit that big play? There's no way that Navy is going to be able to win this game, just pounding the rock over and over and over again. They're obviously going to do that quite a bit in this game. They have to hit that big pass over the middle of the field. And that's why we talked about Eli Heidenreich. He's going to be hugely important in this game for this purpose. And Blake Horvat, 10 passing touchdowns, one INT this year, he's been capable of making that big play down field. They have to find that opening somewhere. And obviously you're going to have to bait them in to stop the run first and then hit him over top. But at the end of the day, if they can't hit that 150 60 yard passing touchdown, it's going to be a long day. And definitely one that they're going to have to fight for just about everything that they're getting. So definitely something to watch there. The other thing is you cannot over commit in the run game. If you over commit one direction, say there's a pitch outside for Navy and there are a linebacker for Notre Dame goes a little bit too far outside or tries to make a little bit too aggressive of an angle, they're going to be gone and be past you. And on the other side, you got to deal with Jeremiah Love. If you don't take the right angle on Jeremiah Love, if you over commit in the run game against him, he is gone. And he's going to tear you to pieces in this game. So it's one of those games where discipline is hugely important for these defenses. Keep your two feet on the ground until you absolutely don't have to anymore wrap up and make the right play. And then if you can get them on the ground, great. If you have a couple of broken tackles, it's going to be a nightmare day for that defense. And then Notre Dame's defensive approach is fascinating to me. Our goal is obviously going to have his hands full this weekend. So many different things to worry about. And this Navy offense is not necessarily super easy to get a beat on. They kind of run a weird sling T type offense where you play around at the run as much as you possibly can. But then they can hit those big plays. They can hit the plays over the middle of the field that Xavier Watts is usually incredible at taking away. But you kind of want them in the run game to help out with a put an extra body in the box. So it's going to be a fun kind of chess match for him playing back and forth between, do we want to sell out to stop the run? Do we want to hang back just a little bit, make that one big play on a pass play that we can pick off? There's so many different ways that you can attack this Navy team. And on the other side, there's so many ways that they can counter you. So it's going to be a very interesting kind of chess match between Jeff Monkin and Al Golden. And then I think Al Golden's absolutely got to win it if they're going to be able to get this one done. I think this one gets a little bit interesting for a little bit. I think Navy has enough fighting him to stay in it early. But at the end of the day, I think Notre Dame is going to be too much. I think the physicality of this team is a real, real advantage in this game. I think Jadarion Price is really the difference in this one. I think they run him over and over and over again. And at a certain point, the Navy defenders just can't tackle him anymore. So I would go with Notre Dame in this game. I think it's going to be really, really interesting. And if Navy wins it, then the entire college football world gets turned on its head, but cannot wait for this one. Definitely going to be a really fun one in MetLife. So definitely something to watch there. But I'm going to pick Notre Dame by a hair. I really, part of my heart wants to pick Navy. I'll be honest with you, but at the end of the day, I'm going to go with Notre Dame here. And then we got another huge one in the big 10 over there and Eugene this upcoming weekend. Oregon kind of just rolling right along. They do have that number one next to their name for the first time since 2012, feeling really good about where they're at. A lot of people kind of peg them as possibly losers last week when they went over to Purdue. They handle business without any question. They're really, really good. And it's one of those games that you look at it and feels like a lot of people are kind of writing this one off. And I'm not necessarily saying that Oregon shouldn't be massively favored in this game and isn't the better team. But just to say, Illinois played really, really good football. And they're one of those teams that can make life tough for pretty much any defense they face. And on top of that, they have the ability to kind of slow the game down. And they have the ability, more importantly, to not make mistakes. And that's kind of the biggest thing. Luke Altman or 15 touchdowns, only one INT on the season. If you can avoid mistakes in this game, slow this game down, make it a little bit mucky. Maybe you can have some openings against Oregon that we haven't seen in a couple of weeks. And then on the other side, they're plenty fine taking care of the ball. Dylan Gabriel, 15 touchdowns as well, only four interceptions on the year. So Illinois is going to have to make a couple of those plays. They're going to have to make a couple of those 50-50 plays that really kind of come down to, are you going to be able to beat number one or not? You know, Vanderbilt was able to make them when they played Alabama. Alabama was able to make them when he played Georgia. So a lot of those teams where you just have to make a couple of those big time plays in those big games, I think Illinois is going to have to make some plays that are a little bit wonky in this one. And the biggest thing going into this game for me, at least on the injury front, is Caden Fagan is not going to play in this game. He didn't play last week for Illinois. And they kind of had to play around with some stuff. A-naughtry and Josh McCraver hugely important to that rushing offense. And it's going to be interesting to see just how big of a gap there is between them and Jordan James and no winning 10. Because as we know, Jordan James becoming one of the better running backs in the entire country and no winning 10 can make you hurt at literally any point in the game. So that'll be an interesting thing to watch. And a couple of players to watch. Pat Brian is the one that I want you guys to keep an eye on. And obviously you should because he's the best player on this Illinois offense. But he's one of those guys that when you play this big time game and you play a team that is just outright more talented than you than at pretty much every single position, having a guy that's kind of an equalizer is hugely important. And I think Pat Brian is that guy. I think when you match him up with Jabbar Muhammad, when you match him up with a lot of these elite corners on the organ side, you don't feel bad about that match up. You feel pretty good about what Pat Brian can do against a lot of these elite players for Oregon in. That's something they're going to need a couple of those 50/50 balls that he's so good at going up and getting. They're badly going to need him in this game. And then on the defensive side, Gabe Jack is or Gabe Jack is has been an absolute problem coming off the at two and a half sacks last week. He's been absolutely incredible. And one of those guys that when you play Dylan Gabriel, when you play Oregon, if you can get after this guy, if you can get him on the ground a couple of times and make him think a little bit too much, maybe you can get some of those mistakes that we talked about a second ago. And then Jordan James, we talked about him just a second ago, one of the best running backs in the big 10 this year and he's plus 700 yards. Illinois can be run on now. I assume they're going to probably try to sell out to stop the run and then live with the consequences on the back end because that back end of the defense is very, very solid. But that being said, Jordan James is a guy that can just make you hurt regardless of how much attention you put towards him. And he's one of those guys that you have to assume that Oregon is going to try to just lean on them, run the ball, play defense and get out here with a win. He would be at the center of that obviously. And then he got Derek Harmon on the other side. We talked about Illinois's run game. It is going to be a little bit different without Caden Fagan there. And frankly, if you're Oregon, I think you just outright stop it. I think if you stop that run game, if you put all the pressure on Luke Altmire, there's going to be mistakes that come. There's almost there's almost no way around that with how good this organ defense is. So if you're Derek Harmon, if you're a couple of that Jamari Caldwell, another defensive tackle for Oregon, stopping the run is going to be huge. And then if you're Derek Harmon, he can get to the quarterback as well. A really, really athletic defensive tackle that absolutely can cause problems in the pass rush as well as the run defense. And then a couple of the keys to the game, there is a run game gap in this one. When you talk about Jordan James, 100 yards and three of the last four games, Illinois without Caden Fagan is a little bit running back by committee. It's going to be interesting to see how they handle this. Can they keep up with that running attack for Oregon? Because it's going to be a load to keep up with. And then we talked about it, the 50 50 plays for Illinois, they have to make them, whether that's turnovers, a fumble just bouncing your direction. Illinois has been very good at this eight interceptions on the year, plus seven in the turnover category. And if they can get to Dylan Gabriel, 55 completion percentage under pressure, which isn't all that terrible when you look across the country, but isn't elite by any means. And you could get a couple of those mistakes that you badly need in this game. So when it comes down to it for Illinois, probably got to be about plus two in the turnover category. This is the way that you're going to be able to do it is get to Dylan Gabriel and then let your back end make the plays that they've been making pretty much all year. And then how does Oregon handle this top of the mountaintop? Because they have that number one next to their name for the first time since 2012. Both Texas and UGA have fallen off that pedestal this season. Can Oregon keep their wits about them in this game for against a team that is a really, really solid squad and definitely can give you trouble? I tend to believe so. I think it's just too much for Illinois to deal with traveling all the way out West playing a team that's so physical, that's so athletic that can make those big plays over the downfield. I think it's just going to be too much for Illinois. I really like this Illinois team, but I think the special run does come to an end this weekend. They lose to Oregon and hopefully they can get a really good season out of this, but likely their CFP hopes come to an end this upcoming weekend. But incredible couple of games cannot wait for both of those. I know Navy is becoming a very popular pick around there, but I do have Notre Dame and I do have Oregon winning those two a little bit of chalky picks, but can't go against my gut on those two. But we'll stay in the big 10 for this next segment. We get into Washington, Indiana, a huge game without Indiana starting quarterback, and then we'll get into Penn State, Wisconsin, a little bit of a sneaky upset alert over there in Madison this upcoming weekend. So we'll break it down right after this breaking news coming in from bet three six five where every nail biting overtime win breakaway pick six three point shot underdog win buzzer beater, shoot out, walk off and absolutely every play in between is amazing from football, the basketball and hockey to baseball. We just talked about a couple of huge games this upcoming weekend, Notre Dame Navy as well as Illinois Oregon. I do have the higher ranked teams winning those. I have a Notre Dame as well as Oregon getting the wins there but we get a couple of Big Ten games that are going to be really important as we head down to the stretch of the season and a couple of maybe upset alerts here. So let's jump into these games and we'll start with that Indiana Washington game. A very interesting one going on in Bloomington and the biggest one or the biggest news going into this one is Curtis Work, the starting quarterback for Indiana that has been one of the best quarterbacks in the entire country this year will not play in this game. Taven Jackson, the backup quarterback will get the start. He has started in the past, has not started this year so definitely something to watch but when he came in last week, he went seven for eight, 91 yards, two touchdowns in the year. He's 12 for 16, 225 and three touchdowns. He's been very, very effective in limited time obviously and definitely will be something to watch. Now Washington, number one past defense in the country. 127 yards allowed per game. It is going to be tough to find opening so you're going to have to lean on the run game just a little bit more. The Indiana defense is only giving up 93.5 yards on the ground so Will Rogers is probably going to have to step up and make some big time play is going to be a kind of a clashing of approaches in this game so definitely will be very fun to watch and he's one of those players that he's got to find openings but it's a very good past defense for Indiana. Top 30 in the country allowing less than 200 yards per game so it's one of those things where you kind of just have to pick your pose and pick who you trust the most whether it's Jonah Coleman on the ground or Will Rogers through the year for Washington and it's going to be a game of execution. Both these defenses are very very good and not giving you many openings not allowing you to hit that big play over the middle. Whoever can make those a couple of plays whoever can get in front of the sticks make that three yards on first down four on second four on third is going to be in a kind of a really good position in this game and a game that I think is going to get a little bit sloppy so you're going to have to make those couple of plays down the stretch of this one and a couple of guys to watch Tyson Lawson is huge for this team. He is one of those players at running back for Indiana that takes so much pressure off what Justice Ellison does and gives them one of the best of one two punches in the entire country at running back. They are so dangerous coming out of that back field and I think when you look at this game you're going to need to take a lot of pressure off Taven Jackson if you can and when you have two running backs like that you're more than capable of it but he's going to get a little bit more workload in this game if I had to imagine just by the circumstances of it going in and then D'Angelo Pons is huge in this game. He came over with Kirk Sinetti from JMU was a fantastic player down there and I think he's been just incredible this year. He's been absolutely awesome on the edge and he's going to get D'Angelo Boston a lot and that's actually the next player that I want to talk to you about because D'Angelo Boston is a hugely important guy in this Washington offense and you talk about Indiana if they're going to stuff the run the way that they've been able to the early parts of the year D'Angelo Boston is going to be hugely important Giles Jackson another guy in that past game that's very very important in this game and if they can get him out on the edge then maybe he can just out athlete some of these guys for Indiana very very athletic kid and one of those guys that would not be surprised at all if he was playing on Sundays here pretty soon and then he got Carson Bruner in the center of that Washington defense definitely the green dot guy for this team and this Indiana offense is one of those that just has so many moving parts it has so many guys that can hurt you at as so many ways that they can get after you and Taven Jackson has a little bit of that running ability that Curtis work doesn't have so much maybe Carson Bruner just has to be an elite communicator in this game to keep everyone in line to keep everyone where they need to be and then Indiana's offense is not quite as explosive as it has been to sort of the season so definitely a hugely important player just to make sure they can handle this offense that can hit you from all types of directions and then we got some keys to the game Indiana's run game obviously is going to be massive in this one Taven Jackson has made starts in past couple of years so he should be fine in terms of just kind of handling the moment being about himself especially at home but you do have Justice Ellison you do have ties on Lawson so 105 yards against Nebraska for Ellison 99 total yards for a lot in that game so they've done plenty they're absolutely incredible duo in that backfield and I think when you look at Indiana really over the next two weeks because it doesn't sound like Curtis work is going to be back for that Michigan state game you're going to need these two guys to step up in a huge way if you want to keep this incredible run that they've been on alive and I think it's going to be one of those games where it's going to be a tough time to find those openings in the run game but you got two guys that can just bowl through people so hopefully that's the difference and then you do have a special teams gap here which could be huge Washington is 119th in the country when it comes to field goal conversion only 59 percent of the field goals they are converting on the other hand for Indiana they've been perfect this year in field goals and that could be the difference and one of these games that is going to be a little bit run heavy it's going to be a little bit slow and kind of these defenses probably winning the day maybe it comes down to one kick one and one way or the other and that could be the difference and then can Washington get home because you talk about a backup quarterback playing in one of his first starts in the last little bit taking over for a quarterback that have been playing just elite level football for Indiana getting to him could force some mistakes and he's actor if you 200 the two and a half sacks of this year to do Paula to a two and a half sacks as well this year if they can get after Tabin Jackson then I think a couple of those mistakes he come and maybe Washington can pull this upset I think this one's going to get a little bit gross I think this one's going to be a little bit defensive a little bit of a run game that just comes down to those couple of plays and I trust Indiana to make those plays I think they have that winning culture about them I think they have that thing in them that Kurt Signeti has brought over that when it really matters when they have to make the plays they will make them now it's one of those sketchy games and if they can't win it then that season that has been absolutely incredible to watch he does kind of come to an end they still have a little bit of a path to make something happen but with Ohio State still lurking on that schedule you very badly need this win I do think Indiana gets it but definitely one to watch this upcoming weekend and then we got another one that it's just the slightest bit sketchy for that undefeated team here Penn State heads over to Madison Wisconsin to face off against the Badgers and this is a very very obvious upset spot a lot of people have been saying it throughout the last couple of days and it's one of those in fact we're doing upset alerts here in a second this would definitely be on there if we weren't breaking it down in full we absolutely would have this on there because Penn State has Ohio State next week Wisconsin's been winners of three straight things you get a little bit interesting in Madison this upcoming weekend but for that to happen Wisconsin just has to find a way to run the ball there's no way they're going to be able to win this game if they can't slow it down if they can't get things going with Tawy Walker who has been absolutely incredible the last little bit now on the other side you have the eighth ranked rush defense in the country only allowing 95 yards per game on the Penn State side so you can't really live through Brayden lock but he's going to have to make his fair share of plays in this game and then for Penn State they might have to live on the ground as well Wisconsin's 10th in the country and past defense 162 yards allowed per game but the difference with that one is when they played USC when they played middle or moss another league quarterback gave up 300 yards when they played Alabama they gave up their fair share of big plays so maybe it is one of those kind of misleading stats that maybe Penn State does attack through the air just a little bit more often than we're expecting in this is one of those spots where in a matter of eight days the season could effectively end for Penn State if they if they lose this one in crazy fashion and then invite Ohio State into town you could be 10 to and be in a weird spot for a CFP spot going forward so Penn State's really got to handle this one this is a very very interesting game Wisconsin has a lot of the external factors in their favor but Penn State feels a little bit different this year to me but it's one of those games that in the past you definitely worry about Penn State with and I'm definitely worried about them this weekend but a couple of players to watch Liam Clifford I think is hugely important for this team and really this offense going forward throughout the season but this offense has been really good it's been able to make all the plays that it needs to make your allers taking that step forward the only issue that I've had throughout the year with them is it feels like it's always one guy and it's different guys for different games it was Tyler Warren a couple of weeks ago going over 200 yards against USC it was Trey Harris early on in the year making big time plays after big time plays you got to be able to spread the ball out you got to be able to get the ball to a number of different people and I think Liam Clifford is one of those guys that's probably right in line to make all of those plays he's very very good at finding soft spots in a defense and very sure-handed I think he's very important to what they do and he's one of those guys that if you want Tyler Warren if you want Trey Harris to be as effective as they can be you got to take energy off of them and this is probably where it goes along with Julian Fleming and then you got AJ Harris on the back end of that defense playing really really good football coming over from Georgia this past season and definitely has been a very important player for this team Wisconsin's gonna have to make plays through the air in this game obviously you want to be able to run the ball slow this thing down limit possessions but at the end of the day they're gonna have to make plays down the field and AJ Harris is going to be the guy that's going to be getting Will Pauling quite a bit in this game and that's another player to watch a very very important player on the outside for Wisconsin one of those guys that you get the ball in his hands pretty special things can happen very very fast one of those guys you can get him on an end around on a jet sweep on a deep route on a you know dragged it that goes 60 yards he's just so versatile so different and when you look at this Wisconsin passing offense not necessarily a ton of elite guys all across the board Will Pauling is one of those guys that can be a great equalizer in this game and make that one big time play that they very much need and then Hunter Woehler kind of just navigating the middle of that defense for Wisconsin and you look at this Penn State offense it happens over the middle of the field that's where their passing offense happens that's where Drew Aller is comfortable throwing passes maybe Hunter Woehler can just step in front of a couple of passes in this game and make the difference here because he is a very instinctual very smart player and he's the one of those guys on the defense for Wisconsin that could totally change this one in a second but I think come with a couple of keys to this game is can Brayden lock make the big place because the last couple of weeks they've been playing really good football have been explosive down field and that's been great to watch they've also played three teams that are nowhere near what Penn State is so they have to be very very careful as they head into this one and with the rush defense on the other side ball is going to be a number 18's hand a lot and he's going to have to make some plays down field he's going to have to make some throws that he hasn't quite made early on in the year so definitely something that's going to be hugely important and it's one of those moments that a lot of your dreams can come true for Brayden lock or a lot of your nightmares can come true but this Penn State pass rush but then the other thing that I'm interested to watch is this Penn State offensive attack we talked about it in the open but they're giving up or Wisconsin pass defense has been really great they also gave up 300 yards to USC and big plays against Bama does Penn State attack through the air or are they more than content of just living on the ground pounding the rock and then getting out with a you know running in the defensive win in this one so definitely will be interesting to watch how Andy code Nikki goes about this he likes taking those shot plays and I don't necessarily think it's going to perturb him to take those so definitely will be fun to watch and definitely will see just how much trust he has in geralar going into this one and then who can get home this kind of an iron sharpens iron type matchup on both sides because Penn State has a lot has 14 sacks on the year has only allowed six Wisconsin has 12 sacks has only allowed five so both of them the defensive lines against the offensive lines are going to be strength on strength who can win those matchups is going to be hugely important because both these quarterbacks wall geralar's a little bit further along a little bit in experience if you can get after him maybe a couple of those mistakes come and definitely will be a big difference in this game but at the end of the day I think Penn State has enough on the ground to win this one I think they're going to live on the ground a little bit with Nick Singleton with K-Tron Allen they're going to say you know that past defense that maybe we can test from time to time I don't think they're going to need to test it very often I think they're going to be able to lean on this team I think they're going to get this pretty comfortable win and continue moving on their way and then they'll get into the big one against Ohio State that's the one that could change their season one way or the other so definitely going to be gearing up for that one and maybe they're in a little bit of a look head spot but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt I'm going to pick the nittany lines there and it's going to be a really fun game I can almost promise you that but let's take our third break here and when we come back we got to talk about some upset alerts I have six for you but frankly you could probably find about 20 on the list for this past this upcoming weekend because I think it's going to get a little bit bonkers but we'll break them down right after this so stick with us breaking news and this one is almost unbelievable yeah it's all about new customers everyone we just got into a couple of big 10 games a huge one for Indiana to keep their undefeated season alive without Curtis work at quarterback so definitely something to watch there and then Penn State maybe a little bit of a look head spot going towards Ohio State I do have Indiana and Penn State winning those games but they're definitely some upset alerts that we'll add to this group which is going to be absolutely incredible to watch oh actually I will talk about that one here in a second Anthony so definitely stay tuned for that it's going to be a very interesting game down there no two ways about that but let's get into a couple of upset alerts around the country here SMU Duke is a very fascinating game to me I think this one's more interesting for a number of different reasons but the travel dynamics are fascinating and it's the reality of the world of conference realignment right about now because SMU was at Stanford last week now they got to make their way all the way over to Durham North Carolina to play another game and it's a hard-nosed team that can really play some good defense with with many Diaz leading the way there so definitely one of those games that could get just a little bit sketchier and the thing about this one is Duke's defense has the ability to make them one-dimensional especially because RJ Maryland is officially out of this game if you can stop maybe even if you can stop the run then they won't necessarily have an answer in the past game because RJ Maryland is not out there a very very important player for that team and makes me a little bit nervous about me loving SMU down the stretch but it's one of those games where for an upset to happen Malik Murphy just has to make big plays down the field he has that huge army he has out all that arm talent he's got to be able to put it on a couple of receivers down field because this is a 97th ranked past defense in the entire country and Jordan Moore is a very dangerous receiver on the outside for Duke so maybe you hit a couple of those big time plays down field and that totally changes this game this is one of those games that frankly if there wasn't that travel aspect in it I wouldn't necessarily think about it too much I think SMU has the ability to win this one when it pretty comfortably I think Duke was one of those teams that was just eking out wins against not so great teams early on in the year and they were undefeated five and no walking into that tech game but ever since it's been a little bit like pulling teeth to get them to get going in I think SMU is able to win this one I probably have this one on a one out of five on the upset meter scale because at the end of the day not necessarily one that I'm super worried about at least from a personnel perspective maybe that travel gets a little bit involved and makes this one close but I like SMU to win and then you got Rutgers USC frankly USC is just going to be on this every single time that they're favored because this is a team that I don't know what to expect from the rest of the way especially with a couple of the losses that they've taken but both these teams are coming off through straight light losses it's a short week it's quite happening Friday night and cross-country travel for Rutgers is not necessarily a great aspect for them going into this game all that being said USC had a ton of expectations going into this year they all officially came to an end last week now they pretty much came to an end a while ago but at the end of the day they officially got buried last weekend the question becomes how does this team respond does this team have the mental toughness does the team have the leadership that they need to go away against the Rutgers team that if they're gonna win this game they got to lean on the run and it sounds like Sam Brown the fifth is going to be out with an injury in this game so Kalman guys gonna have to step up huge he's gonna have a ton on his shoulders in this game but Rutgers is a team that can definitely get that run game going in as we've seen with USC they have the ability to stop the run game for about three quarters that fourth quarter becomes a little bit interesting so maybe they can keep it closed for long enough I like eighth and Kaliac Manus to make enough plays to keep this one closed at the end of the day I do question what USC has to fight for but I also have big concerns about what Rutgers can do on offense I don't necessarily think they're gonna be able to get a ton going and I think when you look at USC I think Miller Moss has enough left in the tank to make some big plays in this game probably a two out of five just because of the dynamics of the run game for Rutgers the you know conference play but at the end of the day I do think USC probably gets this win when they very badly need it and we got to talk about this one Texas heads on the road to play Vanderbilt if I didn't talk about this one I'd be doing you as a disservice because absolutely an upset alert because it's kind of a funny game to break down because even through through seven weeks kind of hard to tell just how good Texas is you know you had those incredible or you had wins early on in the season where they were just dominant really playing incredible football not necessarily showing a lot of gaps and then last week they played the elite team of Georgia and got their lunch hand to them they absolutely got dominated from start to finish in that game and I think they got to be really careful as they head into this week now they should be fine at least on paper Vandy is an absolute problem and the big thing here is can Vandy get home on Queen viewers they have 14 sacks on the season so they have the ability to get there maybe not quite against this elite offensive line for Texas or at least what looked like elite before they got into this one so that offensive line definitely needs a little bit of it bounced back in the 94th ranked pass defense on the other side so you give Queen viewers time he should be more than capable of dicing them up and making all types of big plays the other big thing here is can Diego Pavia make the same problems for the Texas defense that he did for the Alabama defense I do feel very very confident saying the Texas defense is I don't want to say miles better but comfortably better than the Alabama defense that being said there's a lot of issues that Diego Pavia can cause regardless of how good your defense is so it's going to be an interesting one to watch Texas in kind of that bounce back spot feels like a pretty good test for them it feels like a game where they should be able to win they should be able to get it done but you are going on the road against a team that has plenty to throw at you and it's going to be really interesting to watch I think when viewers will get up and get rolling in this game I think Navy is day or not Navy I think Vanderbilt is dangerous but I do think Texas is able to get this win maybe a 3 out of 5 on the upset scale just because it is Vanderbilt in 2024 but at the end of the day I do think Texas gets right I picked him by 20 yesterday not necessarily going off that by any means we got to talk about this one this is a very very interesting one that's kind of being buried and everything all the craziness of this week but Kansas Kansas State is a huge one on Saturday night I think when you look at this Kansas state team they're starting to kind of find themselves they're starting to play really good football especially on the offensive side of the ball Avery Johnson starting to throw the ball down feel a little bit more consistently Kansas has not won a game in this series since 2008 a lot of things going in the way of Kansas state but nothing is normal in the big 12 everything always happens a little bit different out there and I think this is one of those moments where it feels like everything is pulling in one direction honestly with the line only being 10 feels a little bit sketchy feels like Vegas is trying to tell us something but the thing about Kansas season is it's officially gone it was a very very tough year it was one of those years where they got ambushed from the jump and just were never really able to recover that being said Jayden a Jalen Daniels has kind of found something over the last couple of weeks against Arizona State and Houston five hundred seven yards five touchdowns zero picks does he have that one herculean performance in him does he have that one performance that puts him in you know gives him that season that you know it's been disappointing no doubt about that but a win over Kansas state salvages a lot for this fan base for these players and for this coach so it's going to be interesting to watch this one the Kansas state pass defense gives up almost 300 yards per game maybe Kansas in that trio of wide receivers can really get going in it's one of those games that definitely a little bit worrisome for Kansas state probably a four out of five on the upset scale because this one could definitely get sketchy and if it does then Kansas state is looking at the rest of the season with a lot of question marks going forward and then we got this one down there in the group of five and a two lane team that is just trying their hardest to keep their CFP hopes alive I still very much think that they're in the hunt there are only two losses are to Oklahoma and and Kansas state so feel pretty good about what two lane is right now now they're playing a team in North Texas that can throw the ball around the yard Chandler Moore is coming over from TCU has the second best pass offense in the entire country with North Texas and then on the other side Darian Mensa has become a star and New Orleans this year has been absolutely incredible for that two lane team and the big difference in this one is just the difference in styles there's so many ways that they go about business but North Texas runs about 59% pass plays good for 12th in the country two lane runs about 62 and a half percent run plays good for ninth in the country so definitely going to be interesting to watch how these two teams go about each other two lane does have the receivers to make those plays but maybe it's one of those games where he just grinded out with Makai Hughes on the ground he makes just all plays all over the field but the big thing here for North Texas you got to play from out in front I don't think this two lane team is going to be able to be caught if you let them get out in front in this game by 10 14 points they're going to be rolling downhill and be almost impossible to get now North Texas can throw the ball around the yard so it's not necessarily that they can't come back from behind but I just think this two lane offense is just too much to deal with you're going to want to play from in front and then force two lane to throw that ball down field maybe some mistakes come then and then two lane is a fairly sizable advantage on the defensive side of the ball North Texas is giving up 38 points per game 125th in the country so definitely a little bit of one where North Texas is going to have to score quite a few points to stay in this one I do think it's dangerous probably a three out of five four out of five on the upset meter but at the end of the day if North Texas isn't scoring 45 points in this game they're probably not winning it so definitely something to watch there and one of those games that if it gets up into the 40 versus 40 or 48 42 40 realm then things get a little bit more sketchy for two lane in this one and then finally we have Arkansas heading over to Mississippi State this upcoming weekend Arkansas coming off that really tough loss to LSU Mississippi State coming off three straight losses to three of the best teams in the entirety of the SEC and it's a really interesting to me for one very specific reason this is somehow the easiest game that Michael Van Vierin will play this entire year he played Texas UGA and Alabama and Texas A&M at home for his first three starts of his career that is absolutely insane you I don't think you can start a career any worse than that but he's played really good football he's been a really really effective at that quarterback position has made a number of plays through for over 300 yards against Georgia a couple of weeks ago and now he plays an Arkansas team that has been susceptible to give up a couple of those big plays now they've been a lot better over the last couple of weeks but they're going to be placed to be made in this game especially on in the on the ground because that's what LSU was able to get going last week so definitely something to watch there I think all Arkansas has a huge game against Ole Miss on the horizon Mississippi State is staring down and match up with UMass so a little bit of that scheduling getting the going for the Bulldogs in this one and another interesting thing to watch here is Arkansas only hitting about 60% of their field goals they're on their second kicker of the year and then Mississippi State's Kyle Ferry six for seven this year has been very very consistent definitely something to watch in that close game that could come down to the wire and this is an Arkansas team coming off a really tough loss heading into a really tough game against Ole Miss they're on the road and the environment that's really tough they're playing a quarterback that is finally going to get a little bit of a break from playing the elite teams in the country this one is as tough as you can get I think there's a five out of five on the upset meter definitely one that Arkansas should be worried about and one that I might actually like Mississippi State in but I'll probably get into that a little bit more tomorrow and I think there's plenty of upset alerts all around the country so be on the lookout for them because it's going to come at some point no doubt about that but let's take our final break here and then we got to do a little bit of a whip around to a number of the other games that we haven't had a chance to talk about yet we will get to that Miami Florida State game Anthony I promise you that but let's take our last break here and we'll be right back with all of that breaking news and this one is almost unbelievable yeah it's all about new customers at bet 365 because they get one hundred and fifty dollars in bonus bets when they bet five dollars and even better about the upset alerts all around the country i think that one down in starfield between arkansas and mrs b state is just the slightest bit sketchy and definitely one that the razorbacks are gonna have to be careful with but let's get into a little bit of a whip around we have a number of games we have to get to and we'll start with a game that's going to go on on friday and this one is a little bit under the radar fully understand that but it is the appetizer for that boy state unlv game that i cannot wait for luival boston college is one of those really interesting game luival coming off a loss to my my ami where their offense did just about everything they could possibly do to win that game but the defense didn't necessarily help him out by any means and then boston college really struggling to get their footing they've lost to uh straight to both of virginia schools over the last two weeks and finally they're back at home where they are three and oh on the season so this makes one just a little bit more interesting for this game maybe they can limit some of those big time plays and the boston college run game has to be a huge factor in this game against a team that giving up about 150 on the ground and luival so definitely something to watch i think with luival we know the book right they're gonna attack deep they're gonna have to make those big time plays boston college pass defense a 103rd in the country so i do like luival in this game now the home field advantage could be an interesting thing maybe tom's casting on us just has some magic in them in that stadium so maybe all i have boston college make it a little bit closer than i'm expecting but i like luival and i like them pretty comfortably in this one and then you got nebrasco high state a huge one for both these teams i think nebrasco is just looking for really anything to ignite this season it's been very very tough one of those years where again you feel like everything coming together you feel like everything's moving downhill and then you kind of come to a really stagnant stop when you lose to indiana the way you did last week but at the end of the day still plenty to look forward to dilla mile still playing good football and he's going to have quite the test going up to columbus ohio this upcoming weekend and ohio states had 14 days to stew on that organ loss you got to assume that those guys hairs on fire and trying to get back out there on the field and the issue is i would have told you probably two weeks ago that nebrasco would have been able to at least slow down this uh uh ohio state offensive running a rushing attack but they give up 215 on the ground on saturday to indiana i don't think they're going to be able to stop travian Henderson and quenchon judkins i think it's going to be a nightmare week but at the end of the day i do think will howard's gonna have to have a little bit of a bounce back here it's one of those games where you really just kind of have to flush that organ game away you know let all the mistakes all that stuff kind of get uh out of your brain and then just go play really good football i like ohio state and honestly give me the points here i don't necessarily think nebrasco is in a position to even keep this game close if i'm being honest then you got an interesting one down there in oxford miss sippy because oklahoma is just all over the place right now and they've made two big moves this week they have gone back to jackson aural as the starting quarterback as i think a lot of people expected to happen and then joe john finley is going to be their play collar on offense could that ignite something in this offense behind that offensive line i'd be very very surprised but at the end of the day maybe there's something there that i'm not seeing maybe there's a little bit of juice there maybe they can get deon bergs back on the field and things happen but old miss need to win they need to win out to be in the hunt for a cfp spot and they gotta i think i georgia on the road or they got georgia coming up down the road so definitely something to watch and they're coming off that really really or they're coming off a buy after that really tough uh over time lost to lsu need a big bounce back spot here they have not scored 30 points in scc play yet i'd be a little bit surprised if they scored 30 points on this okloma defense and the big thing here is okloma needs turnovers they need what they've needed in pretty much every game in the scc thus far they need turnovers they need to be able to make some big plays downfield they need to be able to run the ball and old miss his pass rush has gotten there 24 times this year i think there's going to be domination i think okloma is going to have a really really tough time and frankly i don't know when okloma is going to have a great time again this year if i'm being honest and then he got georgia tech virgini tech kind of an interesting game over there in the acc because virgini tech's still alive they only have one loss in the acc and they have clumps and coming up on their schedule somehow this hokey team could find a way to get to charlotte and win the acc i don't expect that to happen but obviously they need to win this game to make that happen brinkey has said there's no decision that has been made about hane's king yet in this game i don't expect him to go but the thing is the guy that's sitting behind him zak pyron and his freshman year went up to black spurt and got a win two years ago so definitely something to watch maybe he won't be intimidated by this environment and obviously getting it at noon instead of 7 p.m. helps them out quite a bit with uh kind of perturbing that environment over there in lane stadium but it's going to be really interesting to watch this one the virgini tech offense feels like they've kind of found themselves they've gotten wins of 24 and 21 points respectively and they're being one of those teams that if bishall tunans doing his thing they're an absolute problem to deal with kyron drones has kind of found himself makes and plays off schedule and i think there's one of those teams that might just be a little bit dangerous down the stretch we actually talked about them as a chaos team a couple of days ago but i do think there's going to be an interesting one but when i worry about this george tech team the run defense i think is going to be solid i think they'll be able to slow down bishall tunan the real problem i have is antwan ryland powell he's playing incredible he's playing incredible on the defensive side of that ball and i do think the hokies win this one i think it could be close i think zach pyran might have a couple of plays up a sleeve but at the end of the day i think that virgini tech defensive line just going to be too much then we have a really interesting one this is one that i don't know if you're seeing that line but ucf is favored against bylu the undefeated bylu cougars are going on the road against a team that has not won a game since september 14th and they're underdogs somehow they are underdogs it's absolutely insane but jacory brown has given this ucf offense just a little bit more in the run game the last couple of weeks 84 yards rushing against since an adi a hundred and four against iowa state last week him and rj harvey are becoming just a handful to deal with and if they can avoid mistakes then this one gets a little bit interesting because we saw it last week with oklahoma state that was one of the first game maybe the first game this entire year that bylu did not win the turnover battle got pretty close down the stretch and they were at home so possibly that could be the difference if they lose it again then maybe you're looking at ucf getting a big time win here this is a dangerous moment for bylu you badly need to keep this season alive this is one of those big 12 moments that we've talked about you know the team that probably ends up winning this conference is the one that avoids one of these big time upsets that you're not supposed to take i think ucf might be able to clip bylu here i think they're going to end their undefeated season i'm going to pick ucf and a crazy crazy turn of events but they are favored so vegas obviously agrees with me i'm gonna go with ucf i think the run game is enough i think they take care of the ball and they get a crazy win and bylu's magical season doesn't come to an end but definitely takes a big time hit on saturday and then we got texas tech tcu this is a very very sneaky one in the big 12 because kind of like the one we just talked about texas tech still very much in the hunt for the big 12 only one loss in conference coming off a just terrible performance against bylu especially defensively giving up 59 points they're now underdogs to tcu by six and a half on the road in for worth and it's going to be really interesting to watch this one on full because the tcu defense played really good football against utah last week now without cameraizing very different utah offense but 2.6 yards per carry if you can replicate that against toggi brooks in this rushing offense for texas tech you're going to be very successful i can promise you that this texas tech defense badly needs a pounds back performance they played absolutely terrible and this is one of those games that just feel like there's OT potential here i feel like we can get some over times here maybe even a couple of them and i just feel a little bit of craziness here but i'm gonna go with my gut i'm gonna say the horn frogs win this one a huge win for tcu and texas techs hopes to win the big 12 kind of come to an end this weekend and now we'll get to your game anthony apologize for a little bit of a delay but this is one of those games guys it's one of those games that on paper miami is miles miles miles better than what floristate is this year it doesn't matter this one's weird this one's always closed it's kind of like that texas oklahoma game where it does not matter what team is walking out out there on that field it's going to get interesting but for floristate it's got to be demoralizing you start this year with all the hope in the world and now you are a three touchdown underdog against your in-state rival it's one of those places where you could salvage your season it does sound like brock leon is going to get the start here although he did leave the game luke chrome and hoke came in last week for floristate against duke but at the end of the day it's got to be an all-time performance from floristate it's got to be absolutely perfect i think for miami you're looking for a monday and win you're looking for one where you don't usually get it to be totally fair but you're looking for a very monday and win you're looking for one where you win by 17 you run the ball play defense grind the clock and get out of there with a three score win i don't think they're going to be able to do that i do think miami wins this game but like anthony saying up there i think it's going to be really close i i think it's going to be a really sketchy game that goes back and forth i'm very i'm thinking about putting floristate as a best bet plus 21 points but at the end of the day betting on floristate right now it feels like a cardinal sin but at the end of the day i do think there's going to be a really interesting game there's so many different variables in this one and i just think floristate plays their best game of the year i don't think they necessarily win this one but miami's got to be a little bit careful in this one no doubt about that um and then finally another big game in the big 12 this in fact this week in the big 12 if you want to feel a little bit of a thinning out i feel like we're gonna find it in the big 12 this week and both these teams sit with one loss in the big 12 so the loser is essentially out of it colorado is gaining tons of momentum recent injuries to travis hunter makes him a little bit nervous but he will be out there for this game how long he is out there is going to be something to watch no doubt about that because since an adi is probably gonna have to score in bunches to win this game because you know colorado they're gonna be able to score their points now the since an ad defense has been really good statistically weirdly enough they're middle of the road when it comes to pass defense and run defense but they've allowed 13 and 14 points the last two games so they're kind of finding something don't take horley on in the middle of that defense the defensive tackle is one of the best in the country and i can't imagine colorado is going to be able to get a run game going in this one but they rarely get a run game going so i think i'm going to take colorado in a very very close one although this is a game that since an adi could very easily go into boulder and kind of ruin this colorado season i think they're going to be able to do it i think colorado is going to be able to get it done it's going to be a really really fun game and maybe brendon soresby and since an adi can kind of put their stamp on college football this weekend and get a huge win because that line of five and a half i think a lot of people we're expecting that to be a little bit higher maybe vegas knows a little something but an incredible week cannot wait to get into it obviously we already had an incredible one last uh last night that i will talk about tomorrow i promise you that but an incredible incredible week up up ahead and we will continue to talk about it tomorrow but that'll do it for this edition of the gsmc college football
