For FDIC. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Hello everyone, and welcome into another edition of the GSMC College Football Podcast brought to you by the GSMC Sports Network. It is a Friday around here October 18th, and we have a great show for you today. We're going to start doing something that I'm a little bit nervous about. I'm going to redo all of my predictions from the start of the year. We're halfway home to the end of the season, and I have a couple on here that are a little bit sketchy, but I'll get to that here in a second. Then we'll get to the players and the coaches under the most pressure going into this week, a huge week with a lot of interesting people under pressure, at least from my point of view. Then we'll get to a little of a week eight whip around. We have a couple of games that have already happened this week, as well as a number this Saturday that I want to get you updated on, and then one that I actually forgot to make a graphic for, but absolutely want to get on your All's Radar. Then we'll get into my best bets for this upcoming weekend, had a very good week last week, when six and two on my bet, so maybe I can keep that role in this upcoming week. Then we'll get into a little bit of an injury headline update. We'll get into that 12 man loophole from Dan Lanning getting patched, as well as a couple of different injury updates for all of the big time games out there. But before we jump in, I do want to remind you all, we get tons of questions and comments throughout the show, and the best way for you all to get your question on the screen, we can have a fun back and forth here, is to use that Super Chat feature at the bottom of the chat on the Sports Network page. Put that dollar sign at any question, comment you'd like, it'll pop up on the screen and we can have fun back and forth here. Definitely want this to be interactive, we're about to get into a crazy week here, but I definitely want to get any questions you guys have, I want to get those answered before we get into the craziness. But let's go ahead and jump into this, because this is pretty nerve-wracking, let's be totally honest. The first six weeks of the season have been as chaotic as anything that I've ever seen, you know, wasn't necessarily fully tuned in in 2007, I'll be totally honest. But at the end of the day, this is going to be one of those things that I don't know if I'm more confident now or less confident, depending on how or based on what we have seen, but it's going to be fun to kind of break this down. So first I'll give you an idea of where every conference sits, then I'll give you my previous champion or previous champion matchup and the champion, then I'll give you my new one. And we'll start with the SEC here, and this is where we stand right now, Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, sitting up top, the only undefeated teams, obviously a lot of people worried about LSU this upcoming weekend, I like them in that game, but definitely is a very sketchy one, A&M going to Starkville, and then obviously, Texas playing Georgia, a lot of this will start to work itself out over the next couple of weeks, you know, whoever wins LSU, Arkansas, things will get worked out a little bit there, although if Arkansas wins, maybe a little bit more chaos than we're expecting, but I do believe this will start to work itself out, and previously, I did have Texas against Georgia, felt pretty good that those were the best teams coming in, I did have Georgia winning that, I thought Georgia was going to be able to get through that schedule 11 and 1, something like that, and then be able to go to the SEC title, now I had Georgia beating Alabama, so that was the big kind of wrench that was thrown into this, and it's forced me to change some things, and frankly, I don't think people are going to like this one. I'm going to pick Texas against LSU and hear me out just for a second here, this LSU team has been all over the place, I'm not here to argue that they haven't. What I have seen from this LSU team is they have gotten better and better on the defensive side of the ball every single week, and I think they're one of those teams that is still finding themselves offensively, I think Chris Hilton and CJ Daniels coming back this week could be absolutely huge, and that defense, I think they just have to do enough, I don't think they have to be special down the stretch of the season, when you play Alabama, you're going to be able to take care of that back end, when you play A&M, it's a little bit of a toss-up game, but if you can slow down that offense even a little bit, you'll have the openings to make plays, so I might be a little bit crazy, I could be crazy by Monday, if they lose to Arkansas, but I'm going to go with the Tigers, I tried to talk myself out of it, I went Alabama, I went Georgia, I'm sticking with LSU, but I do think Texas wins that conference, I think they're going to move forward into that probably one seed in the CFP, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say the LSU Tigers make a pretty incredible run toward the end of the season, and find themselves in Atlanta at the end of it. Oh, excuse me, I apologize, I added both of them in there, that was a previous one that I had thought of putting in there, but decided against it, so definitely gives you an idea of how back and forth I was, but moving forward to the Big Ten, this is going to be a very interesting conference as we head on the rest of the way, feels like I know who the best three teams here are, I think Oregon, Penn State, and Ohio State are the best teams, now Indiana will have plenty to say if they win this weekend, a lot can happen for that team, if Illinois wins this weekend, a lot can happen for that team, so still plenty to be figured out here, and it's definitely one of those conferences that all the way down to probably about Iowa, or I probably cut it at Nebraska, but I think you'd go even a little bit deeper, they still have a very real shot to possibly make a CFP run, now earlier on I did have Oregon, Ohio State, as my champions, I felt like they were the best coming in, a little bit chalk on this one as well as the SEC one early in the season, and frankly, I have real no reason to change that, I'm sorry, these are a little bit out of whack here, and they definitely should not be, but I apologize for that. The Big Ten title I believe is going to be Oregon, Ohio State, I do think Ohio State is going to win, I have no reason to back off this, I understand that game did not go quite as pretty as Ohio State wanted it to, I don't think Will Howard's going to make the mistakes that he's been making in past couple of weeks, so I will pick Ohio State to get this win. Moving forward to the ACC, apologies for that little mix up there, but moving forward to the ACC, I had Miami, Florida State to start the season, and obviously Florida State was one of the worst picks that I've had all year, it was absolutely out of, it was totally, totally wrong, and frankly, I don't even feel too bad about it because I think everyone was wrong about what Florida State was going to be this year, but moving forward I think when I look at this conference, there are other teams, there is Pitt, there is SMU, there's Louisville, there's Syracuse, Virginia, all of these teams, Virginia Tech, a huge win yesterday, apologies, a huge win yesterday, so a lot of teams are still in this fight, I think two teams have kind of separated to me, I think it's Miami and Clemson, and frankly I don't love the matchup for Miami, I think if they're going to give the ball away the way they have the last couple of weeks against a Clemson team, they're going to be able to turn them into seven points and that's just going to be enough. And now, I do think both these teams are very well on their way to a CFP berth, but as of right now, I do think there's a couple of questions around Miami that I'm just not fully confident in, and I think Clemson just kind of, I don't want to say rolls, but I think they win the rest of their games, go to the CFP and feel pretty good about where they're sitting, probably in that three spot, if I had to imagine. And then moving forward to the Big 12, a very, very interesting conference here that has probably been shaken up the most, I think we all knew that it was going to be shaken up quite a bit, because BYU getting all the way up to the top was not expected, Texas Tech the exact same, Arizona State playing really, really good football, Cincinnati being in the hunt is really, really awesome to watch. So there's a lot of different teams that are going to have plenty to say in this conference, no doubt about that. I picked Iowa State and Kansas State to face off in the title game early on in the season, I picked Kansas State to win that game. I have not necessarily changed that pick. I like these two teams more than I like anyone else in the conference, and Kansas State's the one that definitely a little bit on the edge about, I think BYU's playing great football, for whatever reason, I just can't fully buy in to BYU being one of those teams in Arlington at the end of the year. Maybe I'll have egg on my face at the end of the year, but as of right now, I'm going to roll with the same match up, I am going to go with Iowa State to win. I Kansas State earlier, I do think Iowa State has the weapons, I think they have every ability to do incredible things this year, and probably be that fourth team in the CFP if I had to imagine from the Big 12. And then we'll get into the playoff, because this one early on in the season was not very good. I'll be totally honest with you guys, I'm not necessarily super keen on this early pre-season playoff predictions here, because had Georgia winning the SEC, I think that's okay at least for the time being. Had Ohio State winning the Big 10, I still very much think that's going to happen. Miami, I think they're going to be in the ACC title will be very much in the mix, KSU, the exact same thing. The problem is some of the at-large bids. I did think Virginia Tech was going to have more in the tank. I thought they had a ton of ability, and frankly, I do think they're turning a corner a little bit here. I think it's a little bit too late for them to possibly make this type of run, so they are definitely not in my new one. And then you have a Florida State team, there's no chance they're getting anywhere close to this, and frankly, I bought into something that I was very much on the fence about, and I just kind of dove in head first, probably shouldn't have done that, probably should have gone a different direction in the ACC, but at the end of the day, I did lean Florida State Ole Miss, obviously, is kind of on the outside looking in right now, will be an interesting thing to watch down the stretch, but at the end of the day, I feel pretty good after that loss to LSU that keeps LSU in this conversation. I do think Ole Miss is likely out of this conversation going forward. Who I have right now, Texas, obviously, you got my conference champions, Texas, Ohio State, Clemson, and ISU, I think they fill out the top four seeds, and then I do have a couple of teams here that are a little bit interesting. I have SMU in here. I think SMU, if you look at the rest of their schedule, they are going to be favored in every single game coming forward. I think that offense is really finding something, and I think in an ACC that is going to be one of, I think the ACC, the best way I can describe the ACC right now is a ton of teams playing really good football. I don't know if they're all that good of teams, and I think when they run into an SMU, when they run into a Miami or a Clemson, it's going to be exposed, and I think SMU's going to be able to find out their way through this season with 11 and 1, 10 and 2, and then maybe sneak into the back end of this playoff. I know it sounds a little bit crazy right now, but I really like this SMU team, and I'm fully buying in. I still have LSU in this iteration. I have Georgia barely making the cut at 10. I have Alabama barely making the cut at 9. It's kind of a sketchy situation there, but definitely will be one that will be interesting to watch. I think Miami still makes it in as the other team from the ACC. And then I think Boise State is probably your group of five representative in this one. I had two lane before. I was very much betting on them to be one of the Kansas State or Oklahoma games, because then I think they would be a shoe. I think they'd be the favorite right now, and frankly, I think if they run the table the way they have, they probably still should be in the conversation. But at the end of the day, I fully understand why they're not. It's crazy to kind of figure this out because the reality is these first six weeks, they could have taught you a lot. They could have taught you a whole lot of nothing, because I'm a little bit confused, and frankly, Texas could lose this weekend, or LSU could lose this weekend, or Oregon could lose tonight, and I could look like an idiot on Friday. I felt like this was a good time to do it. You guys are more than welcome to come back on Monday and tell me how dumb I am or be in the comments and tell me how dumb I am. I more than welcome that. But I think it's going to be really interesting to see how this kind of develops. Maybe I'll redo it again in a couple of weeks just to figure out where everything stands. But as of right now, I do have a couple of Erz and Oz in there. I think SMU is going to make a run. I love this LSU team. I think they're going to be able to put it together a little bit more than some people think they are. And overall, I think Texas kind of separated from the pack just a little bit. This weekend will obviously prove a lot. And if they win this one, then I'll feel much more confident about where they are going forward. But my title match up before, it was Ohio State against Texas. I had Ohio State taking home the trophy. I'm not going to change off that pick. I feel very good about Ohio State Texas. I do think they're going to be in the title game. I think Texas wins this one. Now I could have egg on my face when Texas gets rolled this weekend. But at the end of the day, I do think every ability for Texas to run the table, I think Queen Ewers and Archmanning on that team gives you an ability to say if your quarterback goes down, the goals of your season doesn't really change all that much. So at the end of the day, I feel really good about where Texas is. I think they're one of those teams that everyone's trying to poke holes early on in the season. They haven't played any one, all of that type of stuff. And I tend to agree with a lot of that sentiment. I don't think it's going to matter after this week. I'll be totally honest with you. I think everyone's going to be like, okay, this is the best team in the country. And I don't necessarily expect that to change throughout the season. So I'm going to keep my national title match up of Texas, Ohio State. I'm going to change my champion from Ohio State to Texas for this year. And then we'll get to the Heisman. My first pick for the Heisman was Queen Ewers. Going into the season felt really good about what he could do. Frankly, I still think he's going to make the finalist list. I think he has a number of big time games in front of them. I think he has every ability to turn a corner here, play really, really good football and be one of those four players in New York. And I think it'll be Ash and Jainty, I think Travis Hunter, Queen Ewers and Cam Ward. Those are the picks that I have for the people that are going to make it to New York. I've Ash and Jainty winning. And frankly, maybe it's just speaking it into existence more than anything else because I love this kid. He's doing incredible things. He's doing things that I have never seen. Although Travis Hunter would tell you we've seen something like this before, we have not. It is absolutely ridiculous what he's doing up there at Boise State. So it's one of those things that I'm going to lean toward Ash and Jainty for as long as I possibly can in this Heisman race. I can promise you that. But this is a very, very tough thing to do because the reality is you can make the argument the first six weeks confused us more than it helped us in this quest. But have a couple of crazy picks in there. I do have Ash and Jainty winning the Heisman, I have Texas winning the national title as of right now. I do have LSU going to the SEC title and you're more than welcome to call me crazy. I very well could be if I'm being totally honest, but I'm going to lean into that. I feel good about the Tigers going forward and I think the SEC with all the chaos. I think the Tigers might just be a little bit more under the radar than people think. But going to be a crazy year, definitely one that it could very well be my initial predictions was much more right than my first ones, or than these ones. But at the end of the day, we'll find out at the end of the year, but let's take our first break here. And when we come back, we're going to get into the players and the coaches under the most pressure going into this week. And there's a whole lot of them and they're kind of in some interesting spots. And I'll explain right after this. There's only one feeling like knowing your banker personally, like growing up with a bank you can count on, like being sure what you've earned is safe, secure and local. I feel like I'm losing my mind 'Cause everybody in the world died. Please Lord, give me a sigh, a sigh. I feel like I'm losing my mind 'Cause everybody in the world died. Alrighty, welcome back everyone. We just did my prediction redo kind of mid-season prediction redo. A lot of ones that I feel okay about. There's a lot of craziness going on in college football. So saying anything with your chest right about now feels a little bit irresponsible. But I got some crazy ones in there. If you want to go check that out, you're more than welcome in. Definitely come after me in the comments 'Cause there's some in there that I'm sure people will not love. But let's get into some players and some coaches that are under a big time microscope as we head into this upcoming weekend 'Cause there are a lot of 'em. But they're not necessarily all from those big games. Well, there are a lot from those big games. But there are a couple that I kind of want to get to that are a little bit more off the beaten path. But let's start with one of those huge games. Kayla Naboor is under a huge amount of pressure this week. I think this goes without saying, frankly, it's going to go until the end of the year with him. Because can you imagine, Bama fans, if they have two losses before the end of October, that would be an insane thing for them to see would be something that they are not remotely accustomed to feeling. And I think it would come back on Kayla Naboor pretty aggressively. Now, here's the hard part of this. They're not necessarily playing a team where it's kind of a layup of a game. You're walking into a Tennessee environment where it's going to be absolutely on fire. Your team lost the last time they were there. Well, not your team, but Alabama lost the last time they were there. So Tennessee knows that they can do this. They definitely have some questions on the offensive side of the ball for Tennessee. But you have a lot of questions on the defensive side of the ball. So it's going to be really interesting to watch this one unfold. And I think the other part of this is the Tennessee defense is a nightmare to deal with. And Kayla Naboor is going to have to be able to get some guys open. Sounds like Kobe Prentice and Kendrick Law could not be going in this game, which adds that even more. So there's a lot going into this one. He's going to have to put on a really, really good game plan. And then obviously Nick Sheridan's going to have to call an incredible game. And then on top of all of that, all due respect to Vanderbilt. They did an incredible job in that game, but they beat them on the field. This is the first real SEC at road atmosphere that he is going to play in. No disrespect to Vanderbilt again. The reality was the football is what won them that game, not necessarily the atmosphere of Vanderbilt. So a really, really incredible atmosphere he's walking into. He's coached in great atmospheres and he gave Tennessee fans a little bit of billboard material because of that. But at the end of the day, he's walking into a madhouse and he's got to be able to get a win. I think if he does not get this win, I think there's a lot of questions. I don't think there should be a lot of questions. I want to make that very, very clear from the jump. I don't think there should be too many questions about the future there. But let's be honest, Bama fans will absolutely have those questions. In this game as well, Niko Iamali Ava just has to play better football going forward. There is not a world where Tennessee does what they want to do. Goes to the SEC title, goes to the CFP. It possibly competes for a title. If this guy is not playing really well, he has to be able to kick it up a notch towards the end of the season and your face in a Bama back end that there's going to be openings to be had. You've missed a couple of openings in the past couple of weeks, but there will be a world where you're going to have open receivers running. Can you hit them? Can you make those big plays and can you kind of stamp yourself on college football this season? Because this could be a huge turning point for your team that feels like they're kind of reeling right now. And then the last couple of weeks, you know, you're missing those huge passes. You have the tough Arkansas result and there's a number of different ways where both those results, you could have flipped the Arkansas result. You could have had a much more comfortable win against Florida gone into this feeling like you were a national title contender. Just a couple of shots. It's just a couple of big plays that he is, excuse me, that he has missed over the last couple of days. He very badly needs to hit those on Saturday. So I think there's a very, very talented, capable kid. There's no two ways about that. You see the way he throws the football. It's a lot of just, whether it's lack of confidence, whether it's lack of execution. I don't know, but at the end of the day, he is missing the balls that he very much needs to hit and he could rewrite the book on Saturday. He could totally subside all of those worries. If they beat Alabama, I promise you there's not a Tennessee fan in the world that's saying anything bad about Nico Yumali Abba at the end of the night. This is a kind of interesting one. I think Jack Tuttle is in an interesting spot because Michigan has made their quarterback change. It is going to be Jack Tuttle the rest of the way this season. The question is how much of a flip are Michigan fans expecting from this offense? Because I know they want a flip. They want to be able to pass the ball a little bit more often. I don't think they're expecting to be a pass first team by any stretch of the imagination. But I do think they're expecting a little bit more from that game. The question is, do they go back to just what they were doing with Davis Warren? Because I think Jack Tuttle can open up even a little bit more than Davis Warren did. Do they play just, we're going to run the ball and then just take our shots the same way they did with Alex Orgy, but hopefully hit those shots a little bit more often? It'll be really interesting to see how they kind of approach this game with Jack Tuttle, but this is a talented kid. I feel very confident that he is someone that can elevate this offense at least a little bit. More than anything else, I think you get Colston Loveland involved. And frankly, that is the very best offensive player that Michigan has. You could argue Khalil Mullings or Donovan Edwards. I'd say Colston Loveland is an absolute game changer and they very badly need him in the offense. So he's one of those guys that I think Michigan fans are going into this weekend expecting to win that game, expecting to look a lot better on offense and expecting to walk out of it saying, you know, maybe we're not going to have that elite season go to the CFP, but we now have a quarterback that we can feel confident in at least play competent football and maybe just maybe compete with Oregon, Ohio State down the road. I don't necessarily expect all of that to happen, but I do think Jack Tuttle has quite the spotlight on him just to subside some worries for some Michigan fans going forward. And then we got Shudur Sanders. This is another little bit of a different situation, but Shudur Sanders going out the rest of the season has pressure on him. Frankly, he wakes up with pressure on him just because he is Dion Sun. He is the face of a program that not a lot of people like. That is no secret to him. That's no secret to really anyone out there. But the reality is another piece of this is Travis Hunter, Jimmy Horn Jr. They are coming back in the fold this upcoming weekend. How close are they to 100% is a big time question and Travis Hunter, do they lean more towards taking him out of some offensive snaps so he can play some more defensive snaps because that's probably where they're going to need him in this game. So it's going to be interesting to watch this one. He's more than capable of stepping up to the plate because we've seen him step up to the plate. He's been asked to do a ton for a really, really long time. Every single place he's been in college football, but the reality is it's going to be a little bit more pressure on him. It's going to be a little bit more energy on him and really more energy on this entire Colorado team. They know now that they're on thin ice if they want to be able to reach their goals of going to a big 12 title and being a big time contender in this league, they're going to have to win this one and they're going to have to continue winning pretty much the rest of the way if they want to be in Arlington. So this guy has all the pressure in the world on him. He's answered the bell pretty much every time that he's had. So I'm not necessarily super worried that he's going to miss the mark, but the reality still stands. It's going to be a battle the rest of the season and he's going to have a lot on his shoulders the rest of the way. Lincoln Riley is in a weird spot here as well because it's not necessarily a marquee game. They're going to play Maryland, right? Not necessarily a huge deal by any means, but there's been a lot of scrutiny about the last couple of games, a couple of clock mismanagement and I talked about the one at the end of the Penn State game, one of the crazier things that I've ever seen. I'll be totally honest with you, but the funny thing is here, I still think he has time at this job. The weird thing about the situation around Lincoln Riley is no, they're not playing good football. They're not doing what they want to do this season. They also just hired the defensive coordinator that that they probably should have hired to start with, to be totally fair. So that is on Lincoln Riley. I'm not necessarily taking pressure off him for making that bat higher, but it is to say, you know, he is in his third, fourth year as the coach of USC. He's probably in his first year of this kind of rebuild of USC, which is a hard pill to swallow for a lot of different reasons, but the reality is none of that changes the fact that he very much has to deliver. If they lose to Maryland this upcoming weekend, lose three straight, the future of Lincoln Riley at USC at the very least is going to get a little bit hairy. I don't think it's going to get, you know, the, I don't think there's people calling for a, for his head, although there will be people, those people are probably the minority. I do think there is ability to say, you know, if they lose this one, if they go through the rest of the schedule, just looking like the weaker, more, less physical team, there will be people asking the question of can Lincoln Riley ever get to that point of having that physical team? And I think he'll probably get 2025. I'm not necessarily worried about him getting fired. I am just worried about the perception around him going forward if he does not win this game this upcoming weekend. And then we'll get back into the big games. Kirby Smart, this is a huge one, no two ways about that. And there's obviously all that scrutiny around him and the Michael Van Buren incident. I won't necessarily get into that. I got into that earlier in the week, but he's got a huge game on his hands and he's in a position where he hasn't really been in for quite some time, you know, losing a game in the regular season hadn't happened since 2020, I believe when they played South Carolina. So quite some time ago, but the reality is now he's got to win this one. They know that they're on kind of a thin ice a little bit. I think they can lose and still make the CFP, but the reality is with Tennessee and Ole Miss still on that schedule, you got to be careful. You got to be able to execute in this one and possibly get this win. And the other part of this is look at the offense on the other side. It's an absolute nightmare to keep up with all of the speed, all of the weapons, Queen U was handling that offense really, really well, obviously not so well last week, but I tend to believe he's going to be totally back to normal and be the Quinn U was that we've become accustomed to. So how do you handle that? It's him against Steve Sarkisian in a lot of ways and we'll see what happens, one of the best matchups that we'll see all year when it comes to coaching or in play calling. So it's going to be incredible to watch this one. I think the biggest one for me in this game is this Georgia team has never lacked a chip on their shoulder, at least in the past. And feels like this one does, just a little bit to me. They could totally prove me wrong on Saturday though. If they go down there, they get a big time win in Austin. This team has every bit of the chip on their shoulder as they, as other teams have had in the past and Kirby Smart is doing exactly what he usually does, which is set his team up to possibly make a little bit of a title run. And then we'll go to his quarterback. Carson Beck has been playing really good football over the last couple of weeks and obviously everyone goes back to the first half of that Alabama game where it did not look crisp or that Kentucky game where he was very much at a rhythm. This kid can sling the pill. He is absolutely incredible to watch throwing the football and frankly, he's in one of these moments where a lot can happen on Saturday and not only can his team get back into the CFP race, get back into the title race, get back into the SEC race. He could possibly find his way into the Heisman race. I know that sounds crazy, but we saw with Dylan Gabriel last week, a guy that was playing good, not great football, has one big time game and shoots up to the top. I think that could be the same thing for Carson Beck and probably the added piece to this is I don't know how many NFL scouts will be in the crowd. I wouldn't be surprised if it was in the triple digits. This is going to be a dream for NFL scouts when you see Kelvin Banks and Carson Beck and Queen Ewers and Isaiah Bond and Anthony Hill and a million other guys on that field. It's going to be incredible to watch this, so this could be the moment where he locks up that number one overall pick. I still think this is a guy that when you get him to the NFL level is going to be probably the most prolific of the group at the college level right now. If he does, it really, really good things on Saturday. I think there's going to be a lot of NFL scouts calling their GM saying this is number one, do not even think about it. And then this guy could do the exact same thing. Queen Ewers in a very interesting spot because the reality is he did not play very well against Oklahoma. He would be the very first to tell you that left a lot on the table and frankly, I think some of that was rust. I think some of that was, Oklahoma does a very, very good job of disguising pressures, of disguising coverages and it got him a little bit early on in that game. He totally settled in, played really good football towards the end. And I think he's going to be more than fine in this game. You know, when you talk about Queen Ewers and big time games, he steps up to the plate. There's no two ways about that has beaten Alabama on the road, has beaten Michigan on the road is two and one in those games against OU has obviously gone to the CFP and won a big 12 title. So those big time games, you tended to get the best of Queen Ewers in. I don't necessarily expect anything different. I think there's one that he has circled for quite some time, one of the best defensive teams that he's faced on this entire year. And I think they're right around where Michigan OU is kind of hard to rank those defenses. They're all, I think, very good. I think George's big problem is in the back end. We'll see if Texas can take advantage of that. But there's a lot on the table for both these quarterbacks. Frankly, could be walking out of this thing feeling pretty good about them being the number one overall pick or the other one be walking out feeling like, you know, where am I going to go in the NFL draft? So a lot on the table this upcoming weekend, but beyond the NFL draft, obviously, this is for the SEC, this is for the CFP berth. This is for maybe the best team in the country, cannot wait for that game. It's going to be so much fun and those two quarterbacks are going to be at the very center of that thing. But let's take our second break here. And when we come back, we got a couple of games to get on your radar. We got a couple that have already happened throughout this week, including one team getting a win in a first win in a very long time. But I'll get to that right after this. So stick with us. We just got into a couple of players and coaches that are under a ton of pressure going into this weekend, and I think the two biggest ones are those quarterbacks in that big time game in Austin. Both of those guys could very well become the number one overall pick on Saturday. So definitely an incredible game to watch over there. But let's get into a couple of games that we just haven't had a chance to get to to preview this upcoming weekend, but there's been football already this week. So let's go ahead and jump in here, and let's start with that Western Kentucky, Sam Houston State game. A very, very interesting one that Sam Houston was favored in going into this game, and Western Kentucky just took it to them. They are playing really, really good football. Or the second betting favorites in the conference USA right now, right behind Liberty. Caden Veltkamp is playing really, really good football, 24/29, 281, three touchdowns for the Hilltopper quarterback, and he's playing awesome, awesome football. One of those guys that definitely could lead them to a conference USA title. And then on the other side, Hunter Watson was playing awesome football in the first half of this game, and then he went down, and Jesse Bauer took over in the second half, and that's really where everything kind of went off the rails for Sam Houston. It was 17, 14 WKU at halftime, and then you see the final score. So you absolutely hate it for them. Obviously, it's going to be a very interesting finish to the season in the conference USA, Liberty being the team that's definitely setting the pace, but Western Kentucky, a danger squad that could possibly kind of trip them up here. And then I wanted to touch on this one very quickly, because this is the first UTEP win in 357 days. So just wanted to give a very quick shout out to Scotty Walden and all of the guys down there, because that is crazy, and they really, really enjoyed it. Very, very cool scene. And the star of the day was the UTEP running back Javan Jackson played really, really good football, 148 yards, 5.7 yards per carry and a score on the ground. Very talented kid, and he's one of those guys that, unfortunately, probably is getting some eyes from some bigger, bigger programs right about now. And then in this game as well, FAU, FIU played three different quarterbacks through 28 passes and four interceptions. That's one of the more remarkable things I've seen. That's absolutely crazy that you can be that inept throwing the football. And then they had 85 yards rushing and 2.6 yards per carry. So frankly, I don't even know how they got to 21 points. But at the end of the day, a rough day for FIU and a huge win for UTEP for the first time in almost a calendar year. And then we had this one last night, and it got a little bit weird there for a second, didn't it? There was a third quarter that Virginia Tech very, very much wants to forget because you're up 28-0, going into halftime, everything's rolling right along by Shelton, doing incredible things. And then you come out in the third quarter, turn the ball over twice, Boston College outscored you 21-0 and you're thinking, this one could get sketchy quickly. And then Virginia Tech's able to pull away towards the end of this game. Virginia Tech, by Shelton's remarkable. If you have not watched this kid play football yet, tune in because he is so much fun to watch. 18 carries 266 yards, three touchdowns, and also just added a receiving touchdown just for the fun of it. The dude is absolutely remarkable. And as of right now, he is an all-ACC player at running back, doing incredible, incredible things, and for a lot of different games this season has been the entirety of the offense for Virginia Tech. So a huge win for Virginia Tech, they're definitely love to see them and they're an interesting team going forward. But talk about this game, I gross. That's the best word I got for this one. I'll be totally honest with you guys because this one's going to be really, really weird tonight. And one of the things to talk about going into this game, which is kind of funny, is there's a tradition around Florida State, which is if you're an underdog on the road and you win that game, you take a little bit of sod from the opposing field and you take it back to Florida State and put it in a little garden over there. Florida State fans do not want them to do that in this game, they do not want them to do it against Duke because they don't feel Duke is worth that tradition, and I tend to agree with them. I don't necessarily think that's all that great of an idea now. To be totally fair, it's a tradition. You know, I don't necessarily care about what the other team is, but I get where the fans are coming from on that one. If they don't bring sod back, I wouldn't be too upset, but is it a sod game or not? Will be a very interesting storyline going into this one. And then Duke's just trying to get back on track after that tough loss to Georgia Tech a couple of weeks ago. And then Florida State, I think with Brock, Brock Len has found just a little bit of something. It's not going to be pretty. It's not going to be lighting the scoreboard on fire. I think he's giving them a little bit more. I do like Florida State in this game as crazy as that sounds. It always sounds crazy to pick Florida State in a game at this point, but I am going to pick Florida State to get the win and, at the very least, get to two wins on this season. And then you got Kentucky Florida. This is a very funny game for so many reasons because Kentucky trying to get that bounce back after the Vanderbilt loss, Florida doing the exact same thing after the Tennessee loss in. The interesting thing with this one is DJ Lagway will be the starting quarterback because Graham Mertz is out. Hate to see it for Graham Mertz, a very talented player that frankly views in that Tennessee game the whole time. I think Florida might have won, but that's beside the point at this point, obviously. For Kentucky, I think it's fair to say they missed their shot this year. The same way last year, you know, you bring in a transfer quarterback and things just don't fully click the way you want it to. And you hate to see it, but at the end of the day, they are going to be a problem for a number of people throughout the rest of the schedule. I know they have a Texas still on the schedule. I know they have a number of other big games. They're going to be a problem and they're going to be a team that I would not be surprised at all if they won one of those big games down the road, but this is going to be an interesting one. And I think the biggest thing I'm watching here is how does DJ Lagway handle this Kentucky defense? Because very well called by Brad White, an elite defensive line up front, and he's going to be under fire quite a bit. This is going to be a great moniker for just how good he's going to be going forward for Florida or hypothetically for another program, but we can get there when we get there. Definitely a lot to happen around Florida over the next couple of months. And then we got Iowa, Michigan State, a game that frankly, they overruned at 39 and a half. Iowa scored 40 points last week, so you might just want to take the over, just bases off Iowa scoring 40 because this offense seems to be kind of humming right now, which sounds just insane to say. But at the end of the day, it's going to be really interesting to watch this game unfold. Eightened Childs is someone I want to watch in this game because it's a very, very good defense. Phil Parker is incredible at making life just genuinely impossible for quarterbacks. If eightened Childs can play at least an okay game, I feel like you feel pretty confident going forward as a Michigan State fan. And then I think Caleb Johnson just continues to roll in this one. So talented, probably the second best running back in the country right now. And I think Eightened Childs gives them just a couple more possessions. So give me Iowa in this game. But Anthony, you know how Billy Napier is on the hot seat in Florida this year? If they continue to lose badly, that is an interesting question. Is Mike Norvell on the hot seat if this continues to roll downhill the way that it has? I tend to say no. I do think there is an ability for at the end of the season for those conversations to start happening to say, you know, what happens if we go eight and four next year? What is the moniker going into 2025? But I think they're going to give him a shot to write the ship. I think he's earned a shot to write the ship with the season that he had last year now. To be totally fair, I've talked about this on here a little bit before. Writing the ship is not going to be all that easy because it's not necessarily about the way that they go about business on the football field or anything like that. The coaching staff, their roster building is wrong as far as I'm concerned. I think they need to lean away from the portal and towards a high school recruiting. Problem is their high school recruiting class is kind of crumbling right now. So if they don't figure that out in a hurry, they're going to have to go back into the portal and then just hope that those guys hit. So they're in a very murky situation. I think Billy Napier will get at the very least a year to prove that he is still the guy around there. But at the end of the day, you keep losing. You lose to a number of teams coming forward. You lose to Kentucky this week and you get dominated by Texas. You get dominated by Georgia, I'm sorry, I'm talking about Billy Napier. If Mike Norvell, if you go down the stretch and he doesn't necessarily play all that great of football, they lose some games that they're not supposed to. There will be rumblings. I can absolutely promise you that and he will be walking into 2025 on absolute thin ice. But I think Norvell is going to get one more year. At the very least, I think he's going to get one more year. But I don't think it's going to be an easy thing to fix in one year. Absolutely. I think that's really across the country. If there's any program that is overly reliant on the transfer portal, they can find a year here and there. No two ways about that. There is an ability to pop any given year like Florida State showed us last year. But it's very easy to miss and you have to be able to recruit high school and it's going to be an interesting fight. There's no two ways about that. I do think Mike Norvell gets one more year, but I don't necessarily think he gets much more than that if they can't put on a good product and probably going to have to be transfers out there. We'll get into that throughout the rest of the season. It's one of those that he's going to have to change his ways pretty quickly and get this thing right. Because if he doesn't, I can almost promise you that anything below eight and four next year is him getting kicked out the door. I feel very confident in that. I think he's earned at least one more year, but Florida State fans are a little bit active. So maybe they'll run him out the building, but that definitely will be an interesting thing to watch. And one of those things that I just can't quite get a beat on as of right now. But another game to watch in the late night slate wanted to make sure you guys had some for the Insomniacs out there, but UNLV, Oregon State going to be an incredible game, UNLV trying to get back into the fight here, you know, losing that game to Syracuse, I totally blanked there. Losing that game to Syracuse was obviously a huge blow to their schedule, but the reality is you run the table. I still feel very good that this could be the CFP team in the play, or the G5 team in the playoff, granted if Army and Navy were on the table at the totally different conversation. But UNLV still very much in the hunt. I think UNLV's defense is very, very solid. I think they're one of those teams that you focus on the offense so much that the defense goes a little bit unnoticed, didn't play all that great against Syracuse, but didn't necessarily expect that against Syracuse to be totally fair. So Oregon State was just bad against Nevada. Giovanni McCoy through four picks, they gave up 353 yards rushing. I think UNLV kind of takes care of business in this one, and just absolutely rolls. And then TCU Utah, I will answer this question in two seconds, Anthony, but this is kind of a weird one for TCU in Utah. You have Isaac Wilson on one side starting his game for Utah, taking over for the injured cam rising, TCU just kind of reeling right now, trying to find their way to at least a good season at the end of the day. I think I lean TCU here, it's a very, very weird game, it's one of those that I don't necessarily love one way or the other, but at the end of the day, actually, you know what? Change my pick. I lean Utah here because TCU allows over 200 yards rushing. I think Michael Bernard could just win this game for him outright, but let me get to these questions from Anthony here for a second. I'm a Hurricanes fan, so I'm wondering if we continue doing close games in the conference committee. That is an interesting question, you know, if they end up running the, so I'll put it this way. Miami runs the table, they could win by one point for the rest of this season, they will be in one of those buy spots. There's no doubt in my mind. Now, if they do stumble in one of these games, lose one and then kind of have a weird end of the season where it is some of these games where they happen to come back in, maybe there is a little bit of an opening. I tend to believe a lot of people, you know, we kind of want that craziness of a G5 team getting one of those buys. I think it's going to be really hard for that to happen, but, you know, there is some openings to possibly be happening, and Miami would be one of those. So definitely something to watch there, no two ways about that. So I think it's going to be interesting. It's a fight between those two things, and then Peter seems to see how they're sending it up as if there's one loss SEC team or a Big Ten team, they would put them in over the top four, oh, I see what you're saying. I do think it's one of those battles between, I guess the best way to put it is if you have those Power Five programs, if none of them have totally bought, frankly, I think if the conference champions are anything better than a three loss team, they're probably getting those buys. As much as, you know, you could argue Boise State or UNLV or one of those teams should possibly get one of them, I don't necessarily think that's a reality. I think it maybe should be, I think that's a conversation that we can absolutely have, but I think when you get into that room with those CFP, the commissioner in that group, I think it's going to be really hard to sell those powerful conferences not getting those buys. So I wouldn't necessarily worry about that too much. If Miami wins the conference, I feel very confident that they're going to be the team. The big question is, you know, what happens at the back end, you know, is a three loss SEC team better than a two loss ACC or a one loss big 10 big 12, that'll be a very interesting question. But overall, everyone talks about the G5 teams possibly getting one of those buys. I think that would be a lot of stuff would have to happen for that to happen. So I wouldn't worry too much as a hurricanes fan. I wouldn't worry too much about them possibly losing that spot. But at the end of the day, a lot of really fun games this week, one game that I did didn't get to get a graphic done for, but South Dakota state plays North Dakota state this upcoming weekend in the FCS incredible tune into that one going to be really, really fun. I forgot to make a graphic for it. I apologize to the FCS, they deserve more respect, but at the end of the day, huge game cannot wait for that one. But let's take our third break here and when we come back, let's get into my best bets for the weekend. I have a couple that I feel really good about and frankly, I feel bad that I feel really good about them, but we'll get into them right after this. So stick with us. We just got into all the games we had in a chance to cover going into this weekend, going to be some really fun ones and Virginia Tech got a huge win yesterday that might just be a snowball rolling downhill, but we'll revisit that in a couple of weeks here. Let's get into my best bets for the weekend because had a really good week last week, when 6 and 2 felt really really good about a lot of those bets, so 25, 19 and 2 on the season, I don't know what the units are so I apologize for that, not necessarily doing all the math there because not necessarily a huge betting man myself, but love to give these out, love to give you guys an idea of where I'm looking as we head into this weekend. Let's start this off, I can't understand this line for the life of me. I understand Oklahoma State's one of those teams that hasn't played great football, but definitely is someone that is going to be, they can flip a switch. I fully understand that Yolly Gordon still has that little bit in him, he possibly could have that big game, they're running into a BYU defense, that's just an absolute problem. They're 36 in the country against the run, they're very good at creating turnovers, and when you put the ball in Alan Bowman's hands a ton, he's going to give you turnovers, that's just the reality of the situation, so it's going to be really really interesting to watch that, actually let me get this from Anthony here, should he go off on Point spread or plus mine, oh that is an interesting, I tend to go with Point spread just because it's a little bit more digestible for myself, you know, not being as fully into the betting world as a lot of other people, Point spread tends to be a little bit more digestible for me, and I tend to go that direction, but at the end of the day, there are a lot of people that would have a much better answer than I would, but I definitely think that Point spread is just a little bit easier for me to wrap my head around, feel good about a bet going into it, so I do Point spread, I do over-under, I don't really play around with a lot of the other stuff, from being honest, but Oklahoma State is 10th in the country and passing yards, so maybe they can get something going, now that's out of necessity more than anything else, but BYU is going to be able to sit seven guys in coverage, I think they're going to get multiple picks in this game, and I think BYU just rolls, if I'm being totally honest. Moving forward to Army, I love this matchup for Army, and I don't, I understand why the line is 16, because 16 is quite the line, but they play a East Carolina at home, and it's one of those games where East Carolina is coming off a game to Charlotte, they lost 55 to 24, and they gave up a ton on the ground, and frankly, you're going to give up a ton on the ground to them, I promise you, you're giving up a ton on the ground to Army, they are going to absolutely tear them to pieces, now the funny part about it is the ECU pass defense is actually worse than the ECU run defense, I don't think it's going to matter, and also Bryson Daly can take advantage of that all the same, so I expect Army to win big here, I think they're really going to exploit it, and I think they know they're on a little bit of a historic run, and I think they want to be undefeated, walking into that Notre Dame game, I think they get that done and get this win, and then heading to a buy we can get to rest just for a little bit here, I love South Carolina this weekend in Norman, and it's really one of those things where it's going to be an ugly game guys, I don't know if anyone gets out of the 20s in this game, because the reality is this South Carolina D line against this Oklahoma O line is the biggest mismatch I have seen the entirety of the year, at least within a conference matchup, it is absolutely insane, what this South Carolina D line is going to do to them, Michael Hawkins is going to have to essentially start running when the ball is snapped, there are so many things that could go wrong here, now Oklahoma is hoping to get Dion Burks back, we'll talk about that a little bit later, but at the end of the day, I just don't think Michael Hawkins is going to have any time to do anything really, and then Lenoir Sellers getting a little bit more healthy, you really just need to make a couple of plays, I don't think this defense for Oklahoma is, you know, bad by any means, I think they're really really solid, I just think that offense is going to put them in enough bad positions that as long as South Carolina protects the football, I think they win this one. I like points in the main event of the weekend, I do think Georgia and Texas are going to get after each other just a little bit in this one, and it's one of those things where both defenses are very solid, you know, they're probably towards the top end of the country, now the Georgia defense has quite a few questions to answer, but at the end of the day, the big time question here is how good is the Texas defense, I think that's the thing that's holding this over or under back because they played incredibly, they've been one of the best defense in the entire country thus far, they also haven't faced Carson Beck and Georgia yet, so I do think there's going to be openings on the back end, I do think there's going to be places for them to hit those big plays, and I think Carson Beck is going to be able to hit him, no two ways about that, and then on the other side, we've seen what UGA's back end has looked like the last couple of weeks, and Quinn Ewer's can tear it to pieces, I'll be totally honest, as long as he is upright, as long as he is on his game, which I fully expect him to be, he's going to tear them to pieces, and it's going to be a lot, a lot of points on the board, so for UGA, I think this Texas back end is much better than what Bama's is, I think there will be openings to be had, and I think they will take advantage of them, and I think Texas is just going to be able to score, I don't think there's a defense in the country that is going to be able to really stone wall Texas on the offensive side of the ball this year, so I expect this to get over pretty comfortably, I don't want to say really comfortably, because I don't want egg on my face, but I do think this is going to get over, and I think we're going to get it pretty early on in this game, but LSU I love this weekend, and I am on an island on this one, I'm realizing I'm realizing a lot of people love Arkansas in this game, but I saw a game from LSU that I think a lot of people didn't see, and maybe I'm reading it wrong to be totally honest with you, but it was a game where LSU didn't have their best game offensively, where Garrett Nussmeyer gave the ball away, a number of times, and those were two things that frankly, I thought if going into that game, if you told me Garrett Nussmeyer turned the ball over two times, I believe two picks in that game, I would have told you LSU lost by 14, and not even a question about it, the reason they won was their defense, I think this team is getting tougher by the day, I think they're getting better by the day, I think Blake Baker is getting a better idea of how to utilize these guys, Zai Alexander is playing really really good football right now on the back end of that defense, I think they have the ability to win this game and win it pretty comfortably, that sounds crazy right now, I don't think Taelyn Greene is going to be 100%, so I love LSU, as many people are going to pick Arkansas, and I think it's going to be a whole lot of them, I think LSU gets this win, and I think they continue to roll right along, and then we got a Nebraska team, heading up to Indiana this upcoming weekend, Indiana has been one of my favorite stories of the entire season, they've been so much fun to watch, Curtis Roark is playing some of the best quarterback in the entire country right about now, Nebraska is just one of those teams, they're very very tough up front, they were able to knock off Rutgers early in the season, and their undefeated season, I think Dylan Riles is getting more and more comfortable, the thing that does worry me is Dylan Riles going on the road to a huge road atmosphere for a team that is going to have a lot of fans there, they're going to absolutely be in for this game, because they know how huge it is, and Indiana has been great on the defensive side of the ball, so the reality is there's going to be minimal openings in this game, no two ways about that, I think it's going to be a little bit of a grinded out game on both sides of the ball, I just think Nebraska has the physicality out front to win this one, I think that defensive line is going to be an absolute problem to deal with, and I think when you look at this game, it's going to be low scoring, it's going to be a battle in, even if Indiana gets the win, I can't imagine it's more than by about three, six points, so I am going to go to Nebraska plus six and a half here, I think Nebraska wins outright, but I'll take the points just to feel a little bit safer about this one. This is another over that I really, really like this weekend, I think Michigan betting it over for Michigan is always a sketchy proposition obviously, but Michigan Illinois is a huge matchup for both sides, and definitely has a little bit of a CFP birth vibe to it, but Jack Tuttle is coming into the fray as the quarterback, and that's a huge piece of this, because frankly, the Michigan offense isn't going to be great, I'm not here to tell you that it's even going to be good, what I am here to say is they're going to be able to get people involved just that little bit more, I think Colston Lovellum will actually catch a pass for the first time and quite some time, I think he will actually be involved in this offense for the first time in a while, and I do think they're going to be able to put up some points in this game, Illinois is not all that great against the run, I think Michigan's able to exploit that, and then Luke Almire and these wide receivers against this Michigan back end, you avoid number two and Will Johnson, you're doing pretty well against that back end, we saw it with Will Rogers, and I think he could have that type of day on Saturday, so I think we're going to see some points in this one, I don't think it's going to be you know 45 to 42 or anything crazy like that, but I do think it gets over that 44 and a half, and we're looking at a Michigan team that doesn't have a good offense, but has a watchable offense at the end of the day on Saturday, and then Wisconsin, I love them minus seven and a half, and that's a very sketchy number, I fully understand that, but I think they found something over the last couple of weeks, and I think Phil Longo is really starting to get his fingerprints all over this offense, you have a game this upcoming weekend against a team in Northwestern that is feisty at the very least, but you have a Wisconsin team that can hit really big plays down the field, and then I think Tommy Walker's just going to roll, he's been absolutely incredible, had a huge week last weekend, I think he's one of those guys that is going to get rolling down downhill the rest of the season, and really walk into 2025 is one of the best running backs in the entirety of the Big Ten, I absolutely love this player, and I think he's going to be a problem to deal with going forward, so I like what Wisconsin's got going right now, I think Luke Fickel is kind of right in the ship over there, and maybe it's a little bit more on schedule than it looked like early on in the season, that's for sure, so I like Wisconsin there, I do like points in that big time Texas Georgia game going to be a really fun one up there, and then that BYU Oklahoma State line, I don't get it, I think BYU wins by about two, three scores, if I'm being totally honest in, maybe I'm entirely wrong there, but I don't know, I just, I don't like Oklahoma State at all right now, I'll be totally honest, but let's take our final break here, when we come back we just got to get to all the headlines of the past weekend as well as a number of injury updates from around the country as we get into these big games this upcoming weekend, so stick with us and we'll be right back with that. [Music] [Music] Alrighty, welcome back everyone. We just talked about my best bets for the upcoming weekend, had a very, very good week last week, so let's see if we can keep this thing rolling and get a little bit more over 500, but let's get into this little weekend wrap up because there's a couple of things that have happened throughout this week and there's a number of injury updates that I want to get on y'all's radar because these are some huge games and don't want y'all going in blind by any means, but let's over the NCAA. They jumped in in the Oregon's Ohio State game, obviously everyone or member or everyone recalls the infamous 12 men on the field, moved by Dan Lanning in the end of that game, got the five-yard penalty, didn't necessarily affect anything, but did take a time off the clock and that was the big time conversation. After that game is why does time not go back on the clock? I talked about it on Monday, I don't understand the rule at all, well it's no longer a rule. The NCAA has changed that. It is going to go back to the game clock that it was before the snap and I'm in favor of this rule. I want to make that very, very clear from the jump. I think it's crazy that it doesn't reset and I do think that's a good rule going forward. The precedent of being able to change rules in the middle of the season is a very interesting one. I will put it that way. I don't necessarily think it's going to be abused too aggressively, but there could be a moment here and there where we have a rule that probably shouldn't be changed, but it is because a coach just found a little bit of a loophole. I think this is one that probably should have been, but at the end of the day, huge props to Dan Lanning for getting it while he could. He was absolutely into one of those moves that I have never seen. I think a lot of people I've never seen. I think even Urban Meyer said he had never seen it in his career, so gives you an idea of just how galaxy brain that was from Dan Lanning, but at the end of the day, can no longer do it. Won't have the same effect, but was a very, very cool moment and the NCAA had to step in. We'll be interesting to watch, you know, if next year, another little thing happens where a coach takes advantage of the playbook in a little bit of a way. Maybe they jump in again. Who knows? But at the end of the day, I'm fully in favor of this change. I think it makes total sense. And I was very confused, frankly, when they did not move the clock back on Saturday, honestly, but moving forward to this Georgia Tech George game in 2025, it will be played in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. And this one makes me mad. I won't lie to you guys. This is the game that I grew up going to, grew up in Atlanta, you know, went to this game with my grandfather, my father, my uncle was, this was a huge, huge game in my childhood. No two ways about that. And I hate that it's moving to a place that is anywhere but Grant Field in Sanford Stadium. No two ways about that. Very, very badly want that in Bobby Dodd. Very badly want that in Sanford. I also understand it from Georgia Tech's point of view, you know, you're getting into a point in college football where there's going to be a lot of bills do very, very soon. And there's a lot of things where you're going to have to make sacrifices, you know, putting the patches on the jersey, doing the things on the field, making decisions like this. It sounds like doing making this move is going to take this game from about a $2 million revenue maker to about a $10 million revenue maker. And when you have, you know, $20 million, $22 million to hand out to the students in a couple of weeks, or in a couple of weeks, in a couple of years, you're going to have to deal with that. So I tend to believe this is going to happen kind of around the country. I wouldn't necessarily be all that surprised if one of the South Carolina Clemson games was moved to Charlotte or one of the, I don't want to say Charlotte, one of the South Carolina places, but I don't think it's all that crazy that we see a couple of these games go to neutral sites, probably just for a year. If I had to imagine, I don't think there's going to be a long term thing. I think people are just worried about that onset of having to pay $22 million, having to pay all the different things that are coming up that they're just looking for revenue. And Jay Bat, the athletic director for Georgia Tech is a very, very good fundraiser. That is what he did incredibly well at Alabama. And he's doing it really, really well at Georgia Tech. So it's not a decision I love in terms of, you know, the tradition of college football, it is a decision I fully understand. And it's one of those that I can't necessarily be overly mad at, but I just hope it doesn't continue. I hope they don't be, I hope they aren't playing this game in Atlanta and every time they're playing these bands, because then I'll have a big problem in a hurry. But as of right now, I understand the decision, it's upsetting, but if it's only one year, that's okay at the end of the day. I also wanted to talk about Jared Curtis. He has decommitted from UGA a incredibly talented quarterback. The number four recruit in the number in the ESPN 300, the top quarterback in the 2026 class, this kid went for 2500 yards, 25 touchdowns, nine interceptions in his sophomore season. This kid's incredible. There's no two ways about that. He is one of those guys that you watch his tape in. It's hard to believe that there are many quarterbacks on planet earth that are better than this kid. He can do pretty much anything you want with the football. And he's got a couple of teams that he's looking at going forward. Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, Oregon, USC and South Carolina have become the teams that have kind of stood out over the last little bit and definitely will be interesting to watch. The ones that I'm watching very closely are those two South Carolina schools. I think Clemson and South Carolina are going to have plenty to say in this recruitment. And frankly, if South Carolina can pull this off, then Shane Bieber might have something cooking up there. So definitely will be something to watch. It is October. So we might just have a big time commitment on that front. But we'll see what happens with this one. Whoever gets them. Congratulations. You have your quarterback for the next three years in. He's going to be an absolute monster. Really, really good player. And whenever you get to watch his tape, definitely take that opportunity because it is fun to watch. No two ways about that. But let's roll through some injury updates really quickly here because UGA Texas. Let's start with this one. Small monden will not go in this game. That is official set in stone. Definitely a huge loss for Georgia, but they've missed him the last couple of weeks. So whatever you've seen the last couple of weeks from the Georgia defense, that's the unit you're going to see on Saturday. Probably not the same play, but you're going to see that unit on Saturday. And then Branson Robinson also will not go in this game. A big loss just to a running back room that needs as many bodies as it can right now. Don't necessarily have all of the depth that they usually have there. So definitely something to watch. And then on the Texas side, the big news is Isaiah Bond has been elevated to probable for this game. He will be out there on the field. I feel pretty confident in that. How long he stays out there will be interesting. You know, does that kind of bother him once he starts going full speed? Or is he ready to roll? No issues on that front at all? And he just continues on his merry way. But definitely will be fun to watch in that game. And one of those things that if if Isaiah Bond goes down, that's a big change to that Texas offense and a hurry. And then moving forward Alabama, Tennessee, for the Alabama side, Kendrick Law, Kobe Prentice, looks like they're going to give they could be out on Saturday. A very, very dangerous thing because they don't necessarily have a ton of weapons at their supply. They do have Jeremy Bernard. They do have Ryan Williams. I think Emmanuel Henderson becomes a hugely important player in this game for Alabama. So whether Kendrick Law and Kobe Prentice are out there, I don't know, I tend to lean that they're not going to be out there. But it's going to be really interesting to watch how Alabama adapts to this because they're not necessarily, you know, loaded at wide receiver. I don't know why I lost my words there. They're not necessarily loaded at wide receiver the same way they have been in the past. So got to be careful there. And those two losses could be a huge thing in this game. And then the huge news around Tennessee, Keenan Pealy is not going to play in this game. He will be out for the season. Absolutely hate it for him. The leading tackler on Tennessee. He is also the green dot communicator. So whoever that is on on Saturday, I tend to believe it's going to be Aaron Carter, but definitely will be on the lookout for that. Whoever it is, you got a lot on your shoulders. And it's going to be very, very interesting to see how that develops throughout this game. And maybe it's the difference in it because they need that guy in the center of the defense. So whoever step in and has to be huge on Saturday, moving over to LSU Arkansas. Tailing green will be out there in this one. Feels pretty good about that. I don't think he's going to be 100%. That's kind of the worry that you do have. So it's going to be really interesting to watch that one unfold. I think he's going to need his legs in this one. I feel very confident in that. So as close as he can be 100% the better for Arkansas going into this one. And then huge news for LSU. It sounds like CJ Daniels is going to be in this game, making his way back from injury. And then Chris Hilden is on the table. It feels like that's been kind of the case throughout the entirety of the season. But it sounds like he could be good to go on Saturday. And I expect him to possibly give it a go. But I don't know how long he stays in this game. Definitely will be something to watch because LSU needs just about as many weapons as they possibly can get in this game. And then moving forward to that Miami Louisville game, the super important news here is that Jalen Rivers, the offensive tackle for Miami that had a little bit of a beat up offensive line is going to be back in this game. That makes this offensive line just terrifying. They're so good all over the place and they're going to be an absolute problem in this game. No really thing and nothing really new for Louisville in this front, which is absolutely huge heading into this game. So they feel very confident about where they are health wise. Miami feels even more confident getting their guy back on that. I believe right side of the offensive line, although he could play left tackle and Francis plays right. I'm not exactly sure. Moving on to Michigan, Illinois, very interesting one. The big news here is Caden Fagan will be out for a little bit. The star running back for Illinois huge in this game. He hyper extended his knee and you don't really know how long he's going to be out. That's one of those injuries that a lot of things could have happened there. But hopefully he gets back as quickly as possible. Incredibly talented player, but they're going to have to figure out how they're going to be able to replace him in this game because without a run game, they got nothing. I can promise you, they're going to get absolutely stonewalled in this game if they can't get the run going at least a little bit in this one. And then Michigan has a ton of injuries around. Jayden McBurrows looks like he's going to be out for a while. It does sound like Derek Moore could be making his way back along with a couple of offensive linemen, Dominic Adis, as well as Miles Hinton. But there's a number of guys that are going to be either dinged up or out of this game for Michigan in. It'll be interesting to see how that defense reacts, especially losing a guy on the back end that back end that is not playing all that well right now. So definitely will be interesting to watch those unfold because all these games going to be really, really close. Maybe it's just a couple of injuries that make the difference in this. And then we'll talk about Dion Burks. He is trying to quote unquote defy the odds and be on the field. So I don't think he's going to be on the field. Let me totally honest with you. It's one of those that you'd love to see him. He's an incredibly talented player. And I hate that he has not been able to be the effect that I fully expected him to be for Oklahoma this year. But if he's out on there out there on the field, it gives you another thing to worry about if you're South Carolina and the dude can fly. So an end around could go for 70 yards and totally change this game. So they badly want him on the football field. But definitely still up in the air. I'd lean towards probably not playing in this game. But who knows? Definitely would be a huge addition if he was playing Jordan Burks is status is still very much up in the air for tonight. I don't expect him to go just because it's Purdue. If I'm being totally honest with you, I don't think he needs to go in this game. They have Illinois next week. I fully expect him to probably sit out this one, not necessarily because I think he's super injured. I think he's a little bit more precautionary than anything else. But we'll see. Maybe he wants to get back out there play a game and I don't think it necessarily would be a problem one way or the other. I just expect them to say it is Purdue. It is a short week. Let's give him a little bit more time and then he'll be ready to go next week. That's just my gut feeling on that one at least. Over in Colorado, as we have seen, those two guys Travis Hunter and Jamie Horne Jr. will be back for this game. Huge for this passing offense. The one thing I'm watching is how many snaps Travis Hunter plays on each side of the ball. I think they need him a little bit more on defense. So I would expect them if they are going to dial back his snaps a little bit, although they probably have to fight him tooth and nail to do that. If they are going to do that, I think they would do it on the offensive side of the ball. So definitely something to watch there. And then Luther Burton, he got dinged up a little bit in that UMass game. He will be back for that Auburn game. Huge for them because if they didn't have him, that offense would be very weird going into that game. So definitely a thing that they very badly needed. And then finally, we'll finish it off with the best football players on the field at any given time, the kickers. Notre Dame is going to be without Mitch Jeter in their game against your detect or starting kicker. One of those things that could be very, very huge down the stretch of that game. If Georgia Tech can keep this one close in, you have Notre Dame coming down the field with about a minute left, they might have to get a little bit closer than they normally have to get to get that game winner. So definitely something to watch there. One of those things that maybe it doesn't jump off the page, but could be the difference between Notre Dame winning and losing that game at the end of the day. But an incredible weekend ahead. I cannot wait for this one. We have two match ups that are as good as you could possibly get in college football. And then you just have a smattering of incredible match ups all over the place. You have a ton of big time ones that will really affect the CFP. I think we're going to get some answer this weekend. But frankly, if a couple of these go the opposite direction, we could have more questions. So we'll be back here to break it all down on Monday. No two ways about that.
