I'm your host, as always, Tommy Brzee. It is October 10th, a Thursday around here, and we have a great show for you today. We're gonna start with the Game of the Week. We'll break down the Ohio State at Oregon Game, going to be absolutely crazy. Up there in Eugene, cannot wait for that game to get underway, going to be maybe the game of the year. So we'll break it down in the first segment, then we'll get to Penn State USC. We'll stay in the Big Ten stay on the West Coast, and we'll break down another big-time game happening in LA this upcoming weekend. Definitely a really interesting one with a lot of people kind of burying USC. Maybe they're not quite as dead as people think. Then we'll get to the Big 12. We'll break down a couple of big-time games there, Arizona at BYU, a huge one for BYU to stay on top of the conference, and then Penn State at Colorado. Maybe one of the games of the week, but getting a little bit overshadowed by all the other big hitters on this weekend. Then we'll head to a couple of upset alerts going into Week 7. I definitely think there's a couple of teams, including one without their starting quarterback. That definitely could be in a little bit of trouble this upcoming weekend. Then we'll do a little bit of Week 7 whip around. All of the games we have a nice chance to get to, including a Big 12 one that you probably would have thought we would have broken down on the Big 12 segment, but I'll break down exactly why I didn't in that segment. Before we jump in, I do want to remind you all we get tons of questions and comments throughout the show. The best way for you all to get your question on the screen, we can have fun back and forth here, is to use the Super Chat feature. Click on that dollar sign on the Sports Network page at any question, comment you like, and your name will pop up, your question will pop up on the screen. We can have fun back and forth here. Definitely want this to be as interactive as possible, and especially with a huge weekend. We want to hear what you guys have to say, obviously. But let's jump into this, because this might be the game of the year. It's absolutely incredible what we're going to be able to see in Eugene Organ this upcoming weekend, and there's so many different things that go into this. Obviously, two of the best teams in the country, playing in one of the best venues in the country, two teams that very much are looking at a national title as a very real possibility, and they very much should. These rosters are absolutely ridiculous from top to bottom. They are as deep, as versatile, as talented, as any rosters in the entire country. So, what's going to happen in this one? Obviously, there's a big time step up for Ohio State. No two ways about that. They have not necessarily played an elite opponent. I would argue Oregon's gotten a little bit bigger of a test against Boise State, but at the end of the day, this is a big time step up for Oregon all the same. So, it's going to be interesting to see how these two teams react. We're going to pretty much learn what these two teams are on Saturday. So, it's going to be really, really fun to watch this for Oregon. I think this is a huge spot for the program. This is a moment where Dan Lanning can kind of shake off the cobwebs, all of the stuff that happened last year where a couple of big time games just missed the mark a little bit. This would be where all of that kind of washes away. And I think he's done an incredible job building that program, and I fully expect them to be big time players for years to come. But this is kind of the moment when everything kind of flips for you. You go into a new conference, you beat the big dogs on the block, and you keep rolling, and possibly to a big 10 title. And then you got two of the highest profile transfer quarterbacks this offseason in this game. And it's exactly why you brought them in, right? Will Howard coming in because, you know, you fit to the Chip Kelly offense a little bit more, a little bit more prolific of a passer, than what Devin Brown is, than what Julian saying is at this very moment. And he's played really well thus far. It's going to be a huge step up in competition, particularly on the defensive line. Then he has faced pretty much this entire year. And frankly, I think this is the toughest environment. He's played in his entire career. So it's going to be interesting to see how he handles that. Dylan Gabriel has the home crowd, but he's also staring down about 15 NFL players on that defense for Ohio State. So how he handles that will be very, very interesting to watch, but the reality is, this is why you go get these two guys. This is why you go snatch them up from the portal, and you hope that they can lead you to a victory. And I think two of the biggest things to watch here is, there's a couple of huge matchups. And frankly, those huge matchups all over the field. But I think the Ohio State O-line against the Oregon D-line is a very interesting one. I would say pretty decidedly the advantages with Oregon there. And you'll have to see what Ohio State can do in the run game. Obviously, there are plenty dynamic in that facet. So maybe the O-line is able to hold their own just enough to give Quinchon Judgkin to give Trevi on Henderson the lanes that they need. But the reality is, it's going to be incredible to watch that matchup. Maybe that's where Oregon tips the scales in their favor. And then you got the Oregon wide receivers against this Ohio State back end. And frankly, you could pick either one of those if you really wanted to. I think I might lean Ohio State secondary, but it's very, very, very close. Two very elite talents on that team. And frankly, it's going to be incredible to watch what they can do against this back end. Both teams are very much looking at the national title. And this is kind of the point where everything kind of flips for them. Ohio State still has some very tough ones coming up. Same thing with Oregon in. If you get this one, you are probably the number one team in the country. Depending on what Texas does, obviously. But at least in my opinion, you probably be the number one team in the country. And you probably, you definitely would be the favorite in the Big Ten going forward. So this is a moment. No two ways about that. And we'll see who can react to it the best. But a couple of players to watch. Jordan James has to be really good in this game. He has to be probably played one of the best football games. He's played in his entire career at Oregon because the reality is they're not beating Ohio State just through the air. That's just not something that they're going to be able to do. And frankly, there's no one that's going to be able to do that this year. So you're going to have to get the run game going. A very good defensive line for Ohio State. A really solid offensive line for Oregon. Still dealing with a couple of injuries here lingering. But the reality is a very good unit that has gotten a little bit more healthy. And it's kind of imposing their will at this very moment. So knee Jordan James need to be able to run the ball. And if you can't, then I think it might be a long day for this Oregon offense. Then we got Jordan Birch. And this is more about the run game for Ohio State. I think early on in the year, we didn't necessarily see a ton from Will Howard when it came to running the football. It was a little bit more. Just kind of get in, get the win, get out type of mentality for Ohio State. And I fully understand that. I think they're going to open it up a little bit more. And I think a lot of it's going to have to do with that quarterback run game. That means Jordan Birch, Matteo Uyungalolei, all of these edge rushers for Oregon are huge in this game. They have to get upfield. They have to try to take away Will Howard's legs. And if they can't, this Ohio State offense is going to be able to run the ball. And that is the absolute death sentence for Oregon. So we'll figure out what Jordan Birch and these edge rushers in general can do for this game. Cardinal takes another guy to watch in this one because Ohio State, through the first couple of weeks of the season, as we talked about, has been keeping it a little bit bland on offense. And with that has come Agmeke Buka and Jeremiah Smith being a huge, huge, huge part of their offense, which obviously they're as good as it possibly gets. So it's not necessarily that it's a bad thing. I do think you're going to have to open it up a little bit more. I think Oregon has enough guys on that back end, not necessarily the elite group that Ohio State has, but plenty of guys on that back end that can make really good plays. You're going to have to spread the ball out just a little bit more. So Cardinal Tate, Brendan Ennis, all of the tight ends that haven't really gotten involved. Definitely get them the ball and just kind of make this Oregon defense spread out as much as possible. And then this is the game record. This is Jack Sawyer, the guy that can totally take over this game if you, well, not if he wants to, because of course he wants to, but the reality is two very, very good tackles with Johnny Cornelius, as well as Josh Connolly over at Oregon, and he's going to have his hands full. You know, you have really, really good edge rushers for Ohio State, and Jack Sawyer is one of those guys that he's been there for a while. He badly wants to get this when he badly wants to win a national title this year, and I think you might just come with a lot of energy in this one. So cannot wait to see what this guy can do. And frankly, he could be the guy that we talk about the most at the end of this game, because you might just wreck it all together. How Ohio State can win this game? You got to find Running Lands. We talked about it earlier. Ohio State's O-line is their weakness. Now, not necessarily a bad unit, which gives you an idea of how good Ohio State is, but the reality is you're going to have to find openings for a trivia on Henderson and the Crinchon Judgkins for Will Howard. You're going to have to get that apart of the game because Will Howard's not this prolific passer that's going to fit it into really tight windows. You have to pull the linebackers. You have to pull the safeties down into the box and then throw over top of them and give Will Howard openings to throw. So the reality is if you can't run the ball if you're Ohio State, you don't have much of an offense. They're playing against a very good defense against Oregon. So you're going to have to get this run game going early. You're going to have to make sure that you find lanes. I tend to believe they will just because of how dynamic that run game is and how hard it is for any defensive line, really, to get a beat on what they're doing. But it's going to be a fight. Definitely no doubt about that. Then on the other side, you've got to keep the Oregon run game under wraps. Jordan James, Noah Whittington, are massive in this game for Oregon because I don't know if I trust Dylan Gabriel to just stand back there and make the throws that he needs to make without a run game. So if you're Ohio State, stop him for very little yards after contact, very little explosives in the run game and you're probably in a pretty good position because the reality is if you're able to handle this run game with four or five guys in the box, then you have a ton of guys on that back end. And frankly, you might be able to do it with the front seven and then just leave the other guys on the back end to really do what they do, which is lock up receivers. So the reality is Ohio State has the dudes to do this. There's no two ways about that. Now, Oregon has the offensive line to kind of push them around and possibly kind of impose their will in that front. So you have to figure out what they can do, but I think if they can slow down this run game, it's going to be really, really hard for Oregon to get much of anything going offensively. And then you got to collapse the pocket. I really like Dylan Gabriel. I think he's a very good player. That being said, if you move him off the spot, if you make sure that he is not necessarily sitting there making all the throws that he needs to make in, obviously, if he gets moved off the spot, he can make plays. He's not necessarily totally useless once he gets out of the pocket. He can make plays with his legs and Ohio State's going to have to worry about that on Saturday it was probably the reason that Oklahoma won against Texas last year was because Dylan Gabriel extended plays with his legs. So there's a lot of different things to take into account here, but the reality is collapse the pocket, make him think a little bit more, and then he'll probably make one or two throws that you can take advantage of and take the other way. So going to be a huge game, but the reality is get to Dylan Gabriel. You probably win this one if you're Ohio State. On the Oregon side, you have an ability to win the trenches in this game. The Ohio State defensive line is absolutely elite in every way. Your offensive line's really solid, and I don't know if they're going to outright dominate them, but control that battle. You know, stay on even footing in that battle, and then your defensive line should be able to beat up this offensive line for Ohio State. Now that's going to be a battle, no two ways about that. The Ohio State offensive line's not terrible by any means, but if there's a decided advantage in this game, it's probably the Oregon D line against the Ohio State O line, if I had to imagine at least. And so if Oregon can control the line of scrimmage, limit Ohio State's run game at least a little bit with all the different weapons they have and get theirs going downhill, they have every ability to kind of roll in this game. I don't want to say roll. They have every ability to control the pace of this game and win it at home. So it's going to be really incredible to watch that, and frankly, if you just look at the bodies right now, I tend to lean Oregon, at least in the trenches in particular, then you got to get Will Howard's mistake early. If I had to imagine this crowd is going to be on fire to start this game, and the worst thing they could possibly happen is Ohio State slowly rolls down the field on a 12-play drive and scores a touchdown. You have to avoid that at all costs. And frankly, Will Howard has made a mistake in every three of the games in the past three weeks. He's throwing a pick that has not been great in most of those weeks. If you can get that a mistake early, if you can go up by 7-0-14-0 with a mistake from Will Howard, this crowd's going to be into it and it's going to be really hard for him to find his footing, especially in an environment that's going to be just on fire. Then you got to let your playmakers work. This back end is not going to give you breathing room. It's going to be impossible to throw into the teeth of this back end and expect consistent success. Now, you're going to have to do it at some point. That's the reality of this game. Dylan Gabriel is going to have to make throws at some point. Elite throws that he was brought in to make. But the reality is, as good as the Ohio State back end is, you get the ball of Ted Johnson, Evan Stewart, Jerry and Dickie, all of these elite wide receivers on the outside and just let them go. They will make big plays. Now, they might be a little bit fewer and further between than you'd like, but the reality is, you might not need too many. I think there's going to be a little bit of a rock fight. And frankly, I went back and forth every which way from Tuesday on this one. I have probably 10 different picks on this game before I finally came to mind. And frankly, it's kind of just going with my gut and picking that team by one point. I'm going to go with Ohio State in this game. And frankly, it's one of those things that I just think at some point, Dylan Gabriel is going to have to make the throws. And I think Will Howard might not have to. I don't think Will Howard is going to be asked to do nearly as much in this game as Dylan Gabriel. And when I look back and see, Dylan Gabriel is going to have to make the throws into tight windows at some point in this game. I'm having a hard time seeing that not end in at least a couple of picks in Ohio State making big plays down the stretch. So I am going to go with Ohio State and I'm going to go them by the slimmest of margins you could possibly imagine. Frankly, I think we're going to walk out of this game saying that's two of the best teams in the country and there's no doubt about that. So it's going to be an incredible game. No two ways about that. I just kind of went with my gut at the end of the day if I'm being totally honest. But I do think Ohio State gets the win. I think they keep rolling on and get a huge statement win for this title run that they're trying to be on. So it's going to be incredible to watch that one unfold. But let's take our first break here. And when we come back, we're going to get into Penn State at USC, a huge, huge game out there in LA and I cannot wait for it. But we'll break it down right after this. Are you a financial advisor considering the independent registered investment advisor or RIA model and wondering where to start? And the reason is simple, it's cheaper to make things overseas. But that doesn't change the fact that 2% of textile manufacturers have refused to give up on this country, and those companies deserve to be congratulated. I'm talking about companies like American Giant. American Giant controls every link in their supply chain, and that matters because when you buy from American Giant, you create jobs for people in factory towns all across this country. Look, I get it. Nobody wants a lecture. But if you want to see more companies make more things in this country, you got to support the companies who are already doing that very thing. This holiday, check out the clothing at american-giant.com. Flannels, hoodies, t-shirts, and jeans made to last a lifetime. Support the 2% who are still making it here at american-giant.com. We just talked about the big 12 games happening this upcoming weekend. I do have Arizona beating BYU on the road going to be a really fun game up there, and then I can't state eking out a win over Colorado, going to be a really tough game up there in Boulder. And frankly, I think Colorado is going to prove to a lot of people that are a big-time contender in that game, but let's get into all the upset alerts around the country, because frankly, there's a couple of them out there, and it's a little bit harder to find with this week being, you know, a ton of games that are right around each other, a ton of games that seem to be very tough-fought. There's still some to find out there, and frankly, there's a huge one. Arkansas State against Texas State going to be a huge game on Saturday night, and frankly, it's one of those games. Arkansas State is playing really, really good football. As you get deeper in this season, they're becoming one of the better stories in college football, because they played a Michigan team very tough early on in the game, got rolled by Iowa State to be totally fair, but they started their conference play with a big-time win over South Alabama, and I think this is a very good team. I think they have every ability to play really good defense against an offense that is an absolute nightmare to deal with in Texas State, and I think Jordan McLeod is going to be asked to do a lot in this game. I think he's probably going to be a lot more on him in this game than pretty much any game that he's played, and if you can play mistake a free football, he's going to be in really good shape, but Arkansas State can force their fair share of mistakes. They are a very, very good defense, and I think it's one of those things that, can you do the same thing to South Alabama that you did to Texas State? It's going to be tougher. There's no two ways about that. I think Texas State has a couple of really good wide receivers. They have a quarterback that's running the offense in a ridiculously efficient level, and then they have a play call that's going to make life really, really tough for you. So, while I think Jalen Rainer is a very good player at quarterback for Arkansas State, I think this defense is very, very solid. I think Texas State just a little bit too much for this team, and the line kind of shows you that, but I am going to pick Texas State to win here, probably a one out of five on the upset scale, maybe a two out of five depending on the way you look at it, but as of right now, I expect, excuse me, I fully expect Texas State to win this game and continue rolling on their way to a possible Sunbelt title. And then we got App State, Louisiana. This is going to be a really interesting game, and it's one of those that App State has been one of the more disappointing teams, especially in the group of five throughout the early parts of this year. They played just a ridiculously bad game against Clemson early on in the year and have not necessarily found their footing all that much. Now, they're playing a little bit better football, but this defense is a little bit all over the place, and they're going to have to find their rhythm. ULL's big win of the year was overweight force at Wake Forest, so a very solid win now. Their offense has only been held 23 one time in this year. They've been over that every single other week. Maybe that's one of those things that they can explore on that App State back end. Maybe they can make a couple of big time plays, and Southern Miss is definitely a better defense than App State. So it's going to be interesting to watch that one unfold, and maybe Louisiana can put up 50-55 points in this game. But on the other side, App State has plenty ability to run the ball. They just haven't really been able to this year. And frankly, when you have Kanye Roberts and Joey Aguilar and a ton of really good players running the football, I'm kind of confused how they haven't been able to do it. Only 132 yards per game, you're going to have to do more in this game. No two ways about that, and if you can't get it going, then it's going to be a really long game. Frankly, I don't know if they're going to be able to get it going. I don't think App State really has a good shot in this game. I think if you're going to make those 50-50 plays and really kind of make up the gap there, then maybe you have a shot, but if you're playing this one straight up, I think Louisiana wins a lot of the time. So it's going to be an absolute battle. I think it's one of those games that could have a lot to do with what the Sun Belt is going for. I think Louisiana playing pretty good football, App State trying to get back in the fight, and they got the dudes to do it, but as of right now, there's not a team that's playing great football, and I can't imagine it's going to change against a team like Louisiana that's so good offensively. So it's going to be interesting to watch that one on the full, but I would pick Louisiana in that one, maybe a two out of five, three out of five on the Upset scale, but the reality is I think Louisiana probably gets the win here. Then we get to the interesting ones. We got Utah, Arizona State here, and frankly, what is going on with Cam Rising? I don't want to say sick of it, because I very much want him to be on the field, but the reality is I'm going to go ahead and lean into he is not playing this weekend. Whenever you have these very cryptic messages from Kyle winning him around Cam Rising's health, probably means he's not going to go. So I'm going to go ahead and roll with that one going forward, and I think it's probably a pretty safe bet based on what we've seen in the past, but the reality is Arizona State checks a lot of the boxes of what an Upset team could look like, especially in the Big 12, really good at running the ball. They have a quarterback that is plenty prone to make a couple of mistakes in their direction, and maybe you can take advantage of Isaac Wilson in this game, but Sam Levitt is a very, very good quarterback. One of those guys that I think fits the system at Arizona State very well. Now, he's one of those guys that probably not going to hurt you with his arm too aggressively. Now, he can make a couple of plays here and there, but the real attribute of his is he's very, very gritty. He's very, very tough. He's going to show up every single day and make sure that he plays 100% of what he can every single day and leave everything he can out there. So he's one of those guys that I'm sure Kenning Delingham absolutely loves and could be one of those games where he has to be very, very tough. Utah is going to bruise you up, and frankly, they could win this game 10 to 14 if they really, really needed to, but the reality is I do think Arizona State has just enough to cause problems. I think Sam Levitt, I think this entirety of the run game is going to create problems for Utah. Utah's got a really good run defense. That's the reality of their team. That's probably one of the biggest strengths of that team. So maybe they're able to slow them down, but when you throw with that many guys at you, it's going to be really tough to fully slow them down. Now, I'd probably put a three out of five on the upset scale. Not necessarily super worried about Utah in this game, but when you don't have cameraizing on the field and when you have a run game that is as good as Arizona State's is, then there's definitely that opening for an upset to happen. Then we got Florida, Tennessee, and there's a fascinating game that's going to be going down in Knoxville this upcoming weekend. I think you look at this game from face value. You feel pretty good about Tennessee. You have a Florida team walking in that has a lot of questions on the field and off the field. You have Tennessee that is coming off a loss and very much wants to get right. Would make sense if Tennessee was able to handle business, but you look a little bit deeper into this game. It's not quite as clean as you want it to be for Tennessee because I don't really know the full approach of this team offensively. Now, they're going to run the football. What they do, that's what Josh Hypel has always done. Well, at Tennessee, but I think they just got to get more at an eco. And some of it is scheme-based. Some of it's wide receivers not getting great separation. Some of it's him overthinking. You got to find a way to kind of eliminate a lot of that. Whether it's really quick passes to start this game, get him rolling and then make those deep passes or just run the ball. Feel very confident in your run game. Say, we're going to totally lean into this. Now, I don't necessarily think that makes you a title team, so that's something to keep in mind for Tennessee. But the reality is, if that's the way you can win this game, then maybe that's the way you go about business. It's going to be very, very tough to do that with a very good defensive line for Florida. But the reality is, it's going to be a little bit of a fight. In Tennessee, it's got to figure out who they are offensively. And then the other side of this is Graham Mertz has every ability to tear apart this back end because Talon Green tore apart this back end last week. So he was almost up to 300 yards when he went out for an injury and Graham Mertz is a better thrower than Talon Green. So it's going to be really interesting to see what this Tennessee back end looks like and frankly, they could get exposed a number of times in this game. And maybe it's a little bit closer than we think down the stretch of this one. Maybe it's a little bit higher scoring than we think it's going to be down the stretch of this one. So if the openings are there, Graham Mertz is going to take them. He's a very, very competent quarterback and make all the throws that you need him to make. Now, downfield is going to be a little bit tougher. But if you make those quick throws in the open field, you're going to have every ability to make some plays. Now, on the other side, you've got to figure out what Tennessee's offense is. You have to figure out exactly how they're going to go about business. And it's going to be an interesting game here because Florida is an attackable defense. No two ways about that. But you're going to have to make sure that you don't get off schedule at any point because one big play could totally change this game and could kind of take this crowd out of it just a little bit. So Florida has a shot here. No two ways about that. The last time they were up in Knoxville, they got absolutely bullied from start to finish. So maybe they have a little bit more of a chip on their shoulder. We want to get that big time win. I put it on a four out of five on the upset scale. This is a very dangerous game for Tennessee. And if they're not careful, especially coming off that loss and not having a back end that you would absolutely love right now, Florida can make a lot of plays and maybe make this a little bit closer than we're thinking. Then we got to talk about this one. Of course we do. I mean, Vandy heading up to Kentucky this upcoming weekend. They're underdogs by about two touchdowns. And frankly, that makes sense. I think this Kentucky team coming off that huge win to Ole Miss got a buy last week, which is absolutely huge. And then Vanderbilt was the story of college football last week, knocking off Alabama. And you got to figure, you know, why is it a two touchdown spread? Well, plain and simple. Alabama got moved out the ball last week. I don't think that's going to happen in Kentucky. I think this defensive line's a little bit bigger, a little bit more physical than what Alabama has at their disposal. And frankly, I don't think they're going to get schemed to death either. I think Brad White has so many different looks that he can throw out people. And I think the really big thing here is JJ Weaver on the outside. Tyree's Fairby on the outside. They're really good runstoppers. And if you can't put them in a position to possibly make those plays, that the Alabama players did not last week, then maybe you have a really good shot in this one. So I understand the line. No two ways about that. That being said, you got to understand that whenever Diego Pavi and Vanderbilt get on the field at this point, they have an upset potential. When they can make all of the plays that they need to make, and frankly, when you have a triple option offense, effectively a triple option offense that you're running and Diego Pavi is making all the right plays, there's not a defense in the country that's really going to be able to stop it. There's some that are going to be able to counter it much better than Alabama did, but at the end of the day, you're going to be able to make your plays. And if Diego Pavi is hitting all the right buttons, you're not still mauling this offense. That's just a reality of playing them. So this is a weird one. My football brain tends to tell me that Kentucky wins a rock fight in this one. If I'm being honest and Kentucky wins, probably doesn't cover the spread, but maybe wins. But my heart tells me Diego Pavi just pick him until he proves me wrong. But the reality is I'm going to put this one in a four out of five on the upset scale. I think has every ability to be a big time upset. And then maybe Vanderbilt just continues rolling on in the SEC. One of those things that you don't expect it to happen. You do expect them to kind of fall back down to Earth a little bit this week, but if they win, then maybe the commoners are going to have a little bit more to say in the SEC than we once thought, even right now than I think. But this one, it is a five out of five. This is no question is period end of story. This is a five out of five on the upset skill because frankly, if I can go higher, I would, but the reality is you look at this game. It does not make sense. There is nothing about this game that makes sense. When they step into that building in the cotton bowl, Texas know you become totally different teams. And one, the really good team becomes a little bit worse, and the not so good team becomes a little bit better. I realize that left out Oklahoma's ranking apologies. They're number 18 in the country, but in 2015, a not good Texas team beat a really good Oklahoma team in that building 24 to 17. And that's a potent offense for Oklahoma back in the day. So it's going to be interesting to see how this game goes, but this game makes no sense. That's the reality. And frankly, you look at the numbers of this game. It's very hard to find an Oklahoma advantage. It's very hard to find anywhere where Oklahoma has the decided advantage in this game. I mean, Texas probably definitely has the better quarterback, definitely has the better O-line, definitely has the better wide receivers in this game. And frankly, overall, I tend to believe that. And then has the better D-line, has the better running backs. It's going to be a nightmare for Oklahoma to win this game. That being said, it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter how many stats go in a Texas direction. It doesn't matter how many position battles go in Texas direction. This game does not make sense. It's always an upset alert. It's always one of those games that could go sideways. And frankly, seeing a 14-point spread in this game is absolutely insane. But the logic would tell you that Texas should be able to win this game, but logic ceases to exist in the Cotton Bowl on that Saturday. So it's going to be crazy. I feel pretty confident in that. I don't know if Texas is going to be able to really pull away in this game, but who knows? Maybe I'm going to look foolish for putting it on here, but there was very little chance. I was not at least including Oklahoma and Texas in this one. So it's going to be interesting to watch all those games. Frankly, the upset alerts are a little bit fewer and further between this weekend. When you talk about all the really, really close matchups that we're going to get, a little bit harder to find, the ones that are going to be crazy endings. But at the end of the day, I feel pretty good about the six that I gave. But let's take our final break here. When we come back, we're just going to do all the games we haven't had a chance to touch on yet. And one game that we probably could have touched on earlier, but I'll break down exactly why I didn't right after this. So stick with us. [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] [MUSIC PLAYING] Alrighty, welcome back everyone. We just talked about some upset alerts around the country, this upcoming weekend, and we did talk about that Red River rivalry, and Anthony, yes, it doesn't make any sense. It's always going to be very close, regardless of how good each team looks on paper. It's going to be a hard-fought game. Pretty much it comes down to who wants it more, and it's a very unique game for that respect. And Miami, Florida State, kind of the exact same. So it's going to be an absolute battle, and frankly, whoever wants it more is likely winning that game. But let's get into a little bit of a whip around and talk about all the different games we have and a chance to get to with a lot of the attention going up top, no two ways about that. But Coastal Carolina at JMU is a really interesting one to me, because you have two teams that are still very much looking at some belt title as a real possibility. Coastal Carolina started a conference play with a win over Old Dominion, while JMU took a really tough loss to ULM. So it's going to be interesting to see how they move forward from here. I think JMU needs this win just very badly, and needs to get back on track offensively. Good news is the Coastal Carolina defense can very much be attacked. One of the worst defenses in the country giving up more than 200 yards on both respects and passing and rushing per game. JMU should be able to do a ton through the air in this one. And then Ethan Vasick on the excuse me, Vasco has played really, really good football for Coastal Carolina, stepping in for Grayson McCall after he left for NC State. Seven touchdowns, two picks over 1100 yards of this year. He's been answering a lot of questions, no two ways about that, and they're a very, very solid team offensively. That being said, I do think there's a little bit of a shootout. I think it goes back and forth. Coastal Carolina is going to run the ball a little bit more effectively, or a little bit more aggressively than JMU is. But I think it's going to be really fun to watch tonight, but I think JMU gets the win. So definitely going to want to tune in for that one because JMU is a team that, frankly, whenever they're on TV, it's definitely worth your time to watch. But then we'll get to UNLV, Utah State, and frankly, I just love this UNLV team. Whenever they're on TV, I want to talk about this game, because this offense is so much fun to watch. Hodgman League Williams was really good last week. He didn't necessarily have a down week by any means. He just ran into a team that was going to score pretty much every time they touch the ball with Kyle McCord and Syracuse. So I think this UNLV team, I talked about it when I broke down that game, it doesn't change who they are to me. It doesn't change their ability to make the playoff in any way, if I'm being honest. If they went out the rest of the way, I'm having a hard time not putting them in. They would have Boise State, they would have beaten San Jose State, so you have to feel pretty good about this team going forward. And when you have that offense against, frankly, one of the worst defenses in the entire country in Utah State, it's going to be a nightmare for them to deal with. I'll be totally honest with you. It's going to be an absolute nightmare. Do I have the conferences wrong there? Very well could. I don't think I do. I believe they're both Sunbelt. Maybe I'm wrong. I'll double check that and get back to you tomorrow, but I do believe they're both Sunbelt teams right now. But UNLV is going to be able to attack this defense. There's no two ways about that. They are a very, very good offense and even in the loss, they were able to score a ton of points against a Syracuse defense that hypothetically, at least from a personnel perspective, should be able to stop UNLV. But whenever UNLV gets on the field, it's tons of fun to watch and I think there's going to be no difference. So whenever they get on the field, I'm probably going to talk about them. I'm probably going to put them on a little bit of a pedestal because when you talk about the G5, you're not going to talk about a lot of teams before you get to UNLV. And then we got an interesting one happening up there in Chapel Hill this upcoming weekend. Georgia Tech favored by five points heading up to North Carolina. This is one of those games where Georgia Tech's kind of starting to move in the right direction, make some noise in the ACC, but it could get ugly in a hurry. The Georgia Tech's one of those teams that plays really good football for a couple of weeks and then loses a game that they shouldn't lose. And I don't know if this is a game that they shouldn't lose quote unquote, but it is a game that they're favored in. It is a game where you have another team that's reeling as badly as pretty much any team in the country right now. So you hypothetically should be able to win. Now UNC without a Marion Hampton is just not a great football team and definitely not a great offense. Now taking him out of the game is an absolute nightmare to do. He is so good, he can find pretty much any opening that you need to. And frankly, I think he's one of those guys that can do anything on the football field. Georgia Tech's not the elite defense that they very much need to be. Now they did pretty good against the run last week, but the reality is they're going to have to play a much better brand of football up front and possibly be able to slow down this run if they're going to make any type of noise in this game. Now Georgia Tech with a Hanes King running the football and not turning it over is as dangerous as it possibly gets. This offense runs very, very efficiently and the really only way they get stopped in a consistent basis is Hanes King makes the mistakes, but he hasn't been in the last couple of weekends, so maybe they can keep it going. I do think it's a relatively close game, but I think Georgia Tech ends up getting the win in this one. But yeah, I think Anthony, the one big time weakness I'm worried about for UNLV is just the defense is not all that consistent. Now there's a number of places that they can play a lot better, but the reality is when they face those elite teams, when they face Boise State in a couple of weeks, do they have the answers that they need to have? Because that's probably the game that's going to decide who from the Mountain West is in that CFP conversation. So I do have a little bit of worry about that defense. I think they're going to be more than fine on Friday night against Utah State, but I think when they face the Boise State team, maybe that's exposed just a little bit more the same way it was against Syracuse. But I think the other thing you asked about, oh, the North Carolina quarterback, there's a number of different things happening up there. Max Johnson go down early in the year and definitely changed up a lot of things. Connor Harrell, I believe is the starter right now, but they're kind of playing around with Jacobi Criswell as well. That quarterback position is a real nightmare. If I'm being totally honest up there at UNC, so it's kind of hard to keep track of everything. Maybe it's one of those things that kind of take shape after the year, but as of right now, they're facing with a little bit of a nightmare at that quarterback position. No two ways about that. And then you got Washington at Iowa. This is a huge game for Washington. They have every chance to possibly get back in the fight in the Big Ten. If they can win this one now, it's going to be really tough to do that. Washington was really able to attack the back end of the Michigan defense last week. It's not going to be quite as easy to do that against Iowa. They have dudes all over the field. And frankly, it took Ohio State a while to really get going through the air. And then he had Jeremiah Smith make ridiculous plays and then everything kind of came together. But I don't think Iowa was going to be quite as susceptible as Michigan was on that back end. So maybe Washington has to change the approach a little bit. They have to use Jonah Coleman a little bit more aggressively in this game. And then attack the back end when you have the openings. But it's going to be really interesting to watch this one unfold. These Ohio State wide receivers are obviously a lot more to deal with than the Washington wide receivers, but maybe it's going to be one of those things where Iowa was totally able to shut down the run and Washington doesn't have a lot of answers. And then on the other side, Iowa was going to run the football in Michigan, ran the football okay. Last week, didn't want it to the extent that they needed to, obviously. Washington has really, really good defensive line and has a really good line backing core. Maybe they can slow down Caleb Johnson. Now, you'd have to slow him down two weeks in a row and that is not easy by any means. So it's going to be really interesting. I do like Iowa and a really ugly one here, but at the end of the day, in the Big 10, anything can happen. And one big play could totally change this game for sure. But Iowa State, West Virginia, this is the game that we probably could have talked about in the Big 12 slate. And definitely a big time game in the Big 12 this upcoming weekend. I just think Iowa State's going to roll. I'll be totally honest with you guys. I don't think the line of three is good. I might just take it tomorrow, but I'll get to that later. But West Virginia is a team that's playing really good football right now. They're also doing it by just running the football. That's the way they go about business and they can't do that in this game. I don't know if they have a counter punch. And I think Iowa State's going to be able to stop them. They did a really good job against Caleb Johnson in the back end of that Iowa game. And I think they're going to be able to do the same thing in this one. Now West Virginia is going to be able to put up a fight in this one. I don't necessarily think it's going to be a 40 point blowout or anything too crazy. But at the end of the day, I think Iowa State just has more answers. I think they have more dudes on the offensive side of the ball. And I think when you look at West Virginia, they're playing really good football. They haven't necessarily played a team remotely near Iowa State's level. And I think Iowa State's going to be able to stop that run game. So I could have broken it down. I could have gotten into details. But frankly, I think Iowa State's winning by about two scores in this one end. I'm more than happy to take my beating if I don't get that right. But at the end of the day, they definitely are. I very much think they are one dimensional Anthony. I think you take away that run game, you take away to him white, you take away CJ Donaldson. It's a nightmare of a day for that offense because while I really like Garrett Green, the one attribute he does have that is really incredible is his running ability. Is his ability to go through contact and if you put him on the ground, then maybe it's a little bit longer of a day for that West Virginia offense. So I would say they're one dimensional. And I think Iowa State has every ability to take away that dimension frankly. And then you got Cal at Pitt. This is a huge game for Cal and frankly coming off a game where they probably feel like they should have won. And then you got a pit team on the other side. That's one of the 12 remaining undefeateds in college football. They are number 22 in the country. I forgot to put that in their apologies. But at the end of the day Eli Holstein's playing about as good as football is really anyone in the country. The spotlight is growing on Pitt. So these games become a little bit more aggressive, a little bit more intense every single weekend. The biggest question here is what is Cal's headspace heading into this game? Do they feel good about where they are right now? Do they feel like they got cheated and they're not going to bring a hundred percent? Or did they feel like they got cheated and they're going to come out with their hair on fire? So it's going to be really interesting to watch that one. And then obviously you have to think about travel. It's a very, very big factor in the ACC this year and maybe they start a little bit slow. And frankly, they can't in this game. They absolutely cannot start slow against the pit offense because they're really going to get going. I tend to believe Pitt's going to win, but I don't know. It's an absolute toss up. Now, Anthony very much likes Cal, so it's one of those things that very much can be a total toss up. And this pit offense has been running very effectively. Maybe Cal can cause some issues the same way they did against Miami. And Pitt doesn't have the firepower to come back the same way Miami does. So it'll be interesting. I think the biggest thing here is just what's Cal's headspace heading into this game? And then we got an interesting game over in the ACC that you probably didn't circle in your preseason to be totally fair. But the reality is, Virginia is one of the undefeated teams in the conference right about now. Now, not undefeated overall, but undefeated in the conference. They're playing a really, really good football. And I think they can attack this back into the schedule. Now, it's going to be a nightmare. It's a very, very tough schedule when they have them in the back end. But you beat a Louisville team and you get a little bit of momentum rolling down the hill. Maybe you can be a more dangerous team than people have you pegged to be. But at the end of the day, Louisville very badly needs to get this defense under control. It is not nearly where you expected it to be, even on the defensive front that has a lot of really good players. They're not playing the elite football that they should be playing. So it's going to be an interesting test. Definitely one of those that they're going to have to put together a really good performance. And I think Louisville just badly needs this win. I think they're going to win. I think they're going to win fairly comfortably. And Virginia just hasn't had a big time test at quarterback. Maryland posed a little bit with Brian Edwards and with MJ Morris. But at the end of the day, I do think Louisville just has more in the tank than those two teams have. And I think Virginia loses in this one. Then we got Memphis South Florida, and this is a huge game in the group of five. Memphis is favored in this one. And these two teams that just missed the mark a little bit this year. Obviously Memphis taking that loss to Navy was absolutely huge for them. And then South Florida took the two losses early to Alabama and Miami and then got beat by Tulane. Really, really bad. So they're probably out of the fight. I think Memphis is still relatively in the fight. They're a little bit up and down on offense and need to find that. That groove was Seth Hannigan under center. But the reality is a very dangerous team. A lot of really good playmakers on that offense. And then Will Byron Brown go in this game? Is a big time question. And when will this game happen? Is another big time question. They were supposed to play on Friday. They got pushed back to Saturday because of the hurricane. Also, just a quick shout out. If you do have the ability to donate to the people down there in Florida, please do. It's definitely something that a lot of us can't even fathom. So a huge, huge thing happening down there and anyone that can help in any way. Definitely do that. But at the end of the day, there's going to be a really interesting game whenever it does happen. And we'll have plenty to do with what the American is. Obviously, we'll keep you updated on all the updates there. But at the end of the day, we'll be a very, very fun game whenever it is played. It's going to be an incredible week. Absolutely awesome. And we're officially done with the picks for this week. We will be back tomorrow to break down all, tie up all the loose ends and everything like that. And break down the future of the sport, which took a lot of different turns this week.
