(upbeat music) - Better strap yourself in. It's time for the Howie Car Show. - So I have something at the top for all of you and I think you'll be really interested in this. - Not full. - So President Biden is scheduled to announce he is revoking the Hatch Act. So as a gift to all of you, so now I can actually take all your questions about 2024. No? - Ah, that's so funny last time I heard that. I laughed so hard I fell off my dinosaur. - Live from the Matthews Brothers Studios. - I wonder if he still wants the big job one day. Is it still something you aspire to? - I sincerely don't know what weather I will run for elected office of any kind again. - You better not be. - Who's your captain, Howie Car. - What's your message to people about why they've got to engage and get out there to vote? I think people are going to surprise people again. - What about the rap? - Yeah, we'll have rabbits too. - By the way, say hello to Oyster Bunny. - Oh, Oyster? - Pretty big bunny, huh? - Rum swabs, hacks and moon bounce beware, it's... (rock music) - Howie Car. - Say hello to the Oyster Bunny. 844, 542, 42. Welcome to the Howie Car Show. We played those Biden cuts where he's again bragging on the economy. People on the text line seem up in arms about that. So maybe we'll talk about the economy a little bit. You know, there was a story last week. We didn't much mention it, but you know how Biden used to talk about bite-nomics all the time. He in late last year, he would mention bite-nomics, I think one time, one month, 50 times, another month 46 times. When he mentioned it a couple of weeks ago, twice, that was the first time he'd mentioned it in two months. 'Cause people just associate bite-nomics with just hard times. - That's the American dream, that's bite-nomics. (laughing) - Is that the American dream or the American nightmare bite-nomics? And again, a Trump pack has created a very interesting interesting website. Biden Mart grocery store. Bite, you go to biden-mart.com, biden-mart.com. Putting food on, this is the intro to bidenmart.com. Putting food on the table has become harder than ever thanks to bite-nomics. As costs for everyday items continue to rise, American families are struggling more and more to foot the bill. Check off the items from the list below to compile your weekly grocery list and see how much more expensive your bill has become under Joe Biden. What a great idea. So the guy who wrote this from Red State said, "I figured I'd get me some ribs for dinner, skirt steak for tomorrow, potatoes, carrots, grapes, and coffee and ice cream for dessert. Nothing crazy. In 2020, this would have cost me 3861. Nowadays, it would come in at 5548, a 45.69% increase. And I'm guesstimating it would be considerably more in California or New York. And this is just based on the U.S. Department of Agriculture data between January 2021 and January 2024. So your grocery bill's up 50%, 50%. This is the way it's going. And so check that out. Let's have Emma tweet out a link to biden-mart.com so that people can go there easily. Just if you follow me at howwaycarshow.com. So the Wall Street Journal, yeah, as you know, the Wall Street Journal is a rather schizophrenic newspaper. The editorial pages are some semi rhino, but they're still decent. And they still point out the absurdities of a bidenomics among other things. However, the news is strictly, you know, New York Times light. They're not gonna report anything that's seldom is heard a discouraging word about bidenomics in the journal's news pages. So they've got one today. Why gasoline prices are rising faster than usual this year? I'm holding it up for the how we can. Look at how long this thing is. I can sum it up in one word. Why gasoline prices are rising faster than usual this year? One word, bidenomics. Bidenomics. That's the American dream. But costs in 2024 have ramped up faster than normal. Now, what is normal? I mean, you know, when Trump was president, there were no increases. And if anything, the prices of gasoline went down from year to year because we were producing more and more and more domestic energy. Thanks largely to severe weather at home and geopolitical disruptions abroad. Not that, think about that, severe weather at home. Now, haven't the Boston papers and the Boston media and just generally speaking, state run media and general been saying the weather is getting warmer than ever in the winter. The Arctic ice capture melting, wasn't there a story last week saying that the earth was falling off of its axis because of the melting of Arctic ice caps? But now we need an excuse for higher gas prices. So it's severe, severe weather this winter. Oh, no. (upbeat music) And geopolitical disruptions abroad, the geopolitical. You know what the geopolitical disruptions in Russia, meanwhile, and expanding Ukrainian drone campaign has hammered key refineries. Who's paying for the Ukrainian drone campaign? Got a mirror? And so now they're blaming the Ukrainian drone campaign for the rising prices in the US. In other words, we're bombing our own supplies. That's by economics. That's the American dream. The damage has required months long repairs and push the Kremlin to conserve domestic shipments by crushing by, excuse me, by curbing exports which often end up in China, India, or Turkey. Why do they often end up in China, India, or Turkey? We have some kind of thing called sanctions, don't we? So that's another way. If the Ukrainian drones aren't getting the job done of cutting Russian fuel supplies to the US, then we put some sanctions on it. But it's all about severe weather. It's all about severe weather. At the same time, fuel makers in the Midwest and along the Gulf Coast have taken a beating from winter storms. Again, I thought there were fewer winter storms. - How dare you? - There, everything, that's what I'm saying. You can't have April Fool stories anymore 'cause everything is in April Fool's joke. They just make it up as they need it. They just change the narrative on a dime. God, 844, 542, 42. In the summer, heat waves that scorched much of the US strained fuel makers cooling processes and for some companies to dial down operation. So wait a second. So in the summer, global warming was causing heat which affected fuel supplies. Now global warming is causing cold that is affecting fuel supplies. Could it be Democrat party policies at home and abroad shutting down the domestic energy production? Stoking endless wars for the behalf of Democrat donors in the military industrial complex, 844, 542, 508, under Trump 300 to fill my oil tank under knucklehead same tank, $700. John, you're next with highway car. Go ahead, John. - How I can hear me? - Yes, I can. - Okay, before Trump left office, directly across the street from me, I could walk to it, two gas stations. I was paying a buck 96, a gallon, okay? Heating home, home heating oil, I think I paid 259 to put 100 gallons in, okay? These are known facts, I still have the receipts. If people wanna know, they want proof of what this guy has done and one more fact, it would take me almost two hours to get home as opposed to an hour and 10 minutes. More traffic, more cars, more people, more jobs. Just do the math, it's right there in your face. - Yeah, I mean, everything he's done is a disaster and he keeps doubling down. He wants more regulations and he wants these EVs. You know, he spent all half a trillion dollars or half, he spent billions, maybe not a half a trillion. On all these charging stations, guess what, John? There aren't any more charging stations. - Well, let me tell you something, Holly. Ever since Biden has ruined this economy, everybody is looking beyond their means now. And they haven't changed anything. It's just now that they've found out everything costs twice as much now. - Right. - You can't even budget anymore. - And they're charging stuff on their credit cards and guess what's happened to the interest rates on the credit cards, John? They're through the roof because of the inflation that he has set off with his insane spending on all these ESG DEI sustainable fraud scams that he's running. Thanks for the call, John. 844-542-978, giving all our reserves to China. Yeah, we sold down the strategic petroleum reserve. Strategic, not tactical for the 2022 midterms, but that's what he used it for. And a lot of it did go to China. 844. It's just amazing what he gets away with. And they're waving the pom-poms. Like I said last week too, now it's WG, the public radio stations, National Panhandle Radio are on the ropes in Boston. All these stations and all these media companies like the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, there are all these companies that said everything's great under binomics. We're doing great, happy days are here again. Guess what, they're all laying off people. Some of them have even gone out of business. Octions are one of the oldest forms of commerce known to man. Octions are how economies determine values for assets and commodities. Octions are not a fire sale at a discounted price. Rather, auctions are an accelerated sale with competitive pricing. So, just because your parents listed their house for sale at a set price doesn't mean that you have to, JJ Manning's accelerated auction process is one of the fastest growing segments in real estate. Manning's time-tested approach began over 16,000 auctions ago in 1976 with its founder Jerome Manning. What are the main benefits of a JJ Manning accelerated sale versus a traditional listing at a set price? In the Manning method, there are no contingencies. In the Manning method, the buyer signs are exclusive P&S and makes a 10% nonrefundable deposit that day. In the Manning method, you set the terms which all buyers must follow. JJ Manning uses their own 30-30 marketing plan. 30 days of marketing saturation and 30 days to close. No deviations to the purchase and the buyer's feet are kept to the fire. What are the results thus far? - Today's poll question which you can vote in at Howie Carr show.com is what did you celebrate yesterday? Transgender Day of Visibility, Caesar Chavez's birthday Arab American History Month or Easter Sunday. - Three of those things got a presidential proclamation on Friday. Could you guess which one didn't? Until late last night after an outcry on social media. I celebrated Easter Sunday. - 96% of the audience agrees Easter Sunday, 1% for Arab American History Month, 3% for Transgender Day of Visibility and still shut out for Caesar Chavez's birthday. - He's still getting the goose egg. - Yep. (laughing) - I thought after we played that sound cut, he might get a few votes, a handful anyway. Get it up to a whopping 1%. But I guess not. 844, 542, 42, (laughing) 978, my husband and I just did our taxes today. We were surprised that our refund was half, was less than half of what we normally get. The accountant told us the government was withholding less so we would think we weren't losing as much money. Fuzzy math turns out a lot of people on my Facebook page had the same experience. - They hit you coming and going, don't they? Let me read you some more from this Wall Street Journal story. Unlettered gas ran 354 a gallon on average across the U.S. last Wednesday. According to AAA, up 3% from a year ago and 14% higher than at the start of 2024. I thought inflation was coming down. And then what Biden says? Inflation, the gas prices are coming down. They're up 14% since the start of the year. Salt Lake City. Gas stations raised prices by about 61 cents to 377 a gallon over the past month. Metropolitan St. Louis. Drivers have seen a roughly 51 cent price climb to 344 and Chicago costs are up 39 cents to 407. But of course the Federal Reserve's preferred inflation gauge doesn't include volatile food and energy costs. Ultimately, food and energy are the most important things that you need to live, aren't they? You can make do with old clothes. But you need food and you need energy every day. Meanwhile, the cost of gasoline shipments into New York Harbor in April represents a 31% jump since the beginning of the year, 31%. That is faster than the average increase of 20% during the same period over the past quarter century, according to fact status. I guess they'll lay in end supplies for the summer driving season. How's Bidenomics working out for you? It's working out great according to the president and the oyster bunnies and Al Roker, Roker, Roker on TV. Joe, your next versus highway car. Go ahead. Oh, always good to talk to you, Emperor. The Emperor of Hate, that's me. That's right. So I'll tell you how Biden's economics is duplicate with his policies can affect people financially. First of all, Audi makes a good car, right? Yeah. Their electric cars are, their electric cars, Hyundai electric cars, and Kia electric cars are on a, do not garage warning, recall, recall, okay? You know why? Yes, I can put two and two together. That's really good when you buy a car and it says, do not garage. What are you supposed to think? Let me tell you how Biden affected my power, my economics. I bought one of his cars 'cause he told me do I park into my house and no, I got nothing. You know, I think this is true too. I've read that most of the people that are buying EVs are like virtue signaling rich suburbanites. And they don't buy it as their first car 'cause no one could have it as their first car if you had to depend on it to get you to work or to a medical appointment or anything else of significance. You buy it so that you could use it. It's like people used to buy convertibles, you know? Or they still, some people still do buy convertibles. You just use it every once in a while when it's a sunny day in the summer. Or when you, or in the case of the EVs when you want to impress somebody by how much of a beautiful person you are. 844-500-4242. I'm Howie Carr. (upbeat music) Live from the Matthews Brothers Studios. Someone just texted me a story from over the weekend that I hadn't seen. Wayland Man 43 killed early Saturday after single vehicle crash on Shaw Drive. The department, the Wayland Police and Fire responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash at 1.36 a.m. Saturday. First responders discovered a Kia EV-6 that crashed into a tree and was on fire. Firefighters began working to extinguish the fire and extricate the man from the vehicle. It was extinguished the fire in about 40 minutes. Using two hose lines, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Now I don't know if he could have been saved if it had been in a normal automobile rather than an electric vehicle, but he is dead. And it took, and how long does it take to put out a fire when a regular, for lack of a better term, a regular car is on fire, an internal combustion engine is on fire. Does it take 40 minutes? Kind of don't think so. 207, Kennebunkport South Service Area. This on the main turnpike, I know it well. Every charging station occupied, at least a half dozen drivers waiting for a charger. They did not look happy. Wait until they try to trade it in, they'll look even less happy. Peter, you're next with how we car, go ahead Peter. - Hey, Howie. So I wanted to talk about Haniford Supermarket going woke. As we know, Biden just declared Easter Sunday as transgender day of visibility. Well, Haniford is telling their employees to celebrate this same celebration on Easter Sunday. On top of that, on their website, and I'm reading directly from Haniford's website, this is a headline. Haniford Supermarket earns top score for LGBTQ plus workplace equality for 12th consecutive year. And that was just this past December that that headline was published. - All the more reason to drive to West worker Bitterford to go to Market Basket. - I fully agree. In fact, just four years ago, I was working for Market Basket and they're an American owned company. I always thought Haniford was locally owned, but Haniford is owned by a Dutch company as I just found out. - Really? Well, a lot of them are owned by foreign companies. Like I guess all these and the Trader Joe's are owned by a European company. I guess the cartoon network had a special whole day of programming, transgender programming yesterday, Peter. Not that I watch the cartoon network much, but it's just the, I don't know what is wrong with these companies. Who were they trying to appeal to? I mean, no one wants to make life tough for people who don't know what their gender is, but why do they need to be pampered and catered to when treated like they're some kind of victims? Thanks for the call, Peter. Roger, you're next with Howie Carr. Go ahead, Roger. - Allie, I'm so glad you took my call. Listen, we all know the cartels running everything on the southern border right now, and we have more drones in the air than we have ever had before. So I don't understand why we don't know where all of these cartel members live and operate from. And if we do, we've got all this information. Why are we not striking? I mean, this is an attack. We just heard the Mexican president say that if we don't meet his demands, that he's gonna send more, more of this is coming. I mean, since when is Mexico sending demands to the United States of America? And I don't know, I think it's totally legit to send strikes into Mexico and take the cartel out. We know where they're operating. We know where they're coming from. And another thing, you know that they're coming from. - Did you see, by the way, Roger, did you see what Israel did today to the leading Iranian general who's the go-between between the Mullahs and Hezbollah that is, you know, on the guerrillas that are on the, on Israel's northern border? He was in a meeting with some of the Palestinian terrorists in an outbuilding at the consulate in Damascus, the capital of Syria. You know what the Israelis did to him, Roger? They blew him up. They blew him up. They know, you know what, you're right. I mean, if the Israelis know where the Iranian generals are meeting with the leading terrorists from the Palestinian front or whatever they call it, then we know who's running the cartels in and out. But they're not gonna do it, Roger, because Biden loves these people. He supports this invasion. - Listen, I believe in a fair process of law, but what's the price for human trafficking? Do you know what's happening to these girls? I mean, this is, I have no problem with someone dealing with human trafficking, taking a bomb up there. - Yeah, no, I know what you're saying. Thanks for the call, Roger. 844, 500 to 42, 42, a car, a regular car fire you can put out in 30 to 40 seconds. Yeah. I mean, I don't know how long it takes, but it doesn't take 40 minutes to put out a regular car fire. Especially when it's in a tree in the suburbs. So there wasn't a lot around this car fire. It was just an electric car that ran into a tree and basically exploded and they couldn't get the guy out and he's dead. It's a sad story, but it was preventable. If you'd been driving a Toyota Corolla, it'd be alive today, I dare say. 844, I hate to say that. I'm sorry, I'm sorry he's dead, I really am. 844, 500, 42, 42, 802, says cartoon network, mainstream media, is there a difference? No, there is no difference. It's always the same. April Fools, the economy's great. April Fools, inflation's down. April Fools. I'm gonna keep doing that all day, I think. Walter, you're next with highway car. Go ahead, Walter. Hey, Holly, I live on the Cape. We've got the new immigrant hotel down in Yarmouth. It was the other day and they were just finishing up an electric car charging station that'll charge four cars. So when they get the free Tesla, they'll be able to plug it in. I don't know if they get the free cars. They have to save up on the welfare checks. But on the other hand, if you have no expenses, $2,800 a month, that adds up pretty fast, doesn't it? It adds up pretty quick. And not only that, I think the property owner actually gets subsidized to put those units in. Oh, yeah. He's making money on the migrants and he's scamming the system just like they are. Yeah, no, they get these hotels, they're being destroyed. But at the end of the process of destruction, all these people are gonna be millionaires many times over. And the communities that they had these businesses in are gonna all be destroyed by the toxin, the societal toxin that's been introduced and all these turmoil and the chaos, et cetera, et cetera. Thanks for the call, Walter. Yeah, that's on the front page of the Herald today. And Yarmouth, again, they're loading up this hotel in Yarmouth and they've been there in September. They were supposed to be, according to a town ordinance, apparently, you're only supposed to stay in a motel for 30 days. But then they're saying, well, you know, we have this, we have this order from the governor. And then they read it down and it's a suggestion, not an executive order, at least that's the way the town of Yarmouth is interpreting it. So they're trying to figure out a way to get them out. And I just keep thinking to myself again, I mean, I got nothing against Chatham. I mean, in the summer, I live very close to Chatham, but how many people are in the Chatham bars in right now? You know, that's a nice place. There are a lot of nice places on the Cape that don't have hardly anybody in 'em right now, this time of year. Why does Yarmouth get all the celebration of diversity? I know the answer, of course. Roger, you're next with Howie Carr, go ahead, Roger. - Okay, Howie, what a nice show you have. And I just wish that, you know, outside of preaching to the choir, we could get the rest of the Democrats to listen to these shows. I don't understand the Bidenomics and their belief in the wokeism, critical race, the misguided Black Lives Matter. You know, it's not the democratic people themselves, it's the far left. And I wish somebody could just come out and ask the leaders of the far left or the leaders of this democratic party, the Biden's, are you really for one world of order and a great reset? Are you really trying to get rid of the constitution? - I think all they care. Roger, don't you think all they really care about is hating Trump, that that's what it's all about? - Most of the people, but yes, I have siblings. I have six siblings. Only me and my youngest one believe in the Trump, the rest are all for Biden because of the rhetoric, but they don't understand what Trump has done for us. And I was in the Navy. I once, I had voted for Obama, but once I saw the heads being locked up and him not doing anything, that was it for me. That cured me of wanting him in power. And now he's still in power. He's the one pulling the strings. I'm very certain of that. I don't have proof, but I am very certain of it. He said it himself, he'd like to have it. - I mean, you don't have to like Trump, but all you have to do is compare your life, economically, socially, crime-wise, energy, whatever aspect of your life, it chances are it was better under Donald Trump than it is under this net win. - Acting Waters was the one promoting hatred against the Republicans, you know? The first time they tore down the statue and birthed up federal building or government building, I have any kind, they were the insurrectionists, not us peace. - Right, well, how about the fact that Roger, how about the fact that the judge yesterday in El Paso let all those illegal aliens go that attacked the Texas National Guard? He just let them go on personal recognizance. They did a lot more damage. They had a lot more of an insurrection than the January 6 protestors. Some of the January 6 protestors have been in jail ever since. They're still arresting them. You know, all around the country, just picking them up. And yet they didn't do anything. They trespassed at most. These people attacked, they invaded the country and attacked a military force. How, what if it had been Trump people attacking the National Guard like that, cutting down barbed wire fences? Do you think they would have been let go on personal recognizance? I don't think so. I don't think so at all. 844-542-42, experience the ultimate savings event with my pillows $25 extravaganza. The Howie Car Show. The emperor of hate, Howie Car, is back. War four, 542, 42. Limerick, I says that. Collar is dead on. Dear leader is absolutely one of plug's main handlers. No doubt in my mind. I don't know if he's the main handler, though. I mean, I think he's too lazy to be directly involved. He may be just passing on his tips. I don't think Barack is a real type A. He's not a workaholic, let's put it that way. And he's never had a job. None of these people have ever had real jobs. That's the key. That's one of the keys that unites them. They claim to be representing the working man, the union man and woman. And yet they've never punched a time clock. They've never carried a lunch bucket. They've never had a union card. They've never worked, period. You don't need any of those things to work. They've just never worked. 844-542-508. What if the illegals were going to vote Republican when they got here? Do you think they'd be allowed in? I think somebody said that that Schumer would be down on the border with a machine gun trying to keep him out. They would all be there trying to keep him out. They didn't like to cube an example, for instance, in Miami. They'd come over and, you know, being anti-communists doesn't seem communism firsthand. 844-542-442. I don't know how it's going to be now, you know, with the Venezuelans have seen communism firsthand. But on the other hand, they get welfare from the moment they arrive. So I don't know if that, I think that changes the dynamic is when you go on welfare from the moment you get here. And I think that's why they want to put them on welfare and keep them on welfare. 844-542-442. Arden, who's one of our regular listeners, she lives in Yarmas, she went to that meeting where they're going to be fined big whoop. Yeah, you know, you're right, Arden, about that. I mean, the guys in Taunton are being fined what $1,000 a day, they don't give a bleep. They're still, they're making so much money that they're, you know, wrecking the town, wrecking everything. They're, it's immaterial how much they're fined. Plus the judges that go, oh, we're just trying to help society by bringing in all these deadbeats and letting them ruin the state. Oh, oh, fine's dismissed. No more fines for you. You should be getting extra money from the town for wrecking it. Rambo, you're next with Howie Carr, go ahead Rambo. - Hey, hey, hey, howie. Hey Yarmab, remember, don't forget the summer blend is coming too, that's going to jump it up. The inevitable summer blend of fuel. And the, I'm getting hit on the mortgage 'cause I was, I should have locked in, you know, and I did that one year and now I'm screwed. It went from, in brand dynamics, my 4% went to a 6% and now the 6% just went up the full two to an 8%. I'm, it's, it was, it's a hard one to swallow 'cause I was given extra and now the extra is basically what... - Right, it's the same thing on the credit cards if it makes you feel any better and I'm sure it doesn't rambo, you know? I mean, I read a number last week that, last year Trump was president, the Americans spent, I think 51 billion in mortgage, in interest payments on their credit cards. Now it's up to triple that, triple. - Well, the, the Wingman, you know, the Western Mass, it was like 350, 360, 370. It got up to close to four, but it's, you know, I was trying to fill it because I knew it was gonna go higher each time, but it was, it was a hard one to swallow $800 fills times three or four. - Oh yeah, I know, especially when you get used to it being, being flat for years and years, you just, you just, it's human nature to just assume everything is gonna be fine.
