[Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Hello everyone, welcome in to another edition of the GSMC College Football podcast brought to you by GSMC Sports Network. I'm your host as always, Tom and Brizzy. It is Wednesday, November 6th around here, and we have a great show for you today. We got to start jumping into week 11. It is a huge week in the world of college football. We'll get into Georgia Ole Miss first. We'll do that to start the show definitely a huge game over there in Oxford that Ole Miss badly needs to win. Then we'll do a little bit of a Texas two-step. We get into Florida Texas as well as Colorado Texas Tech. Two games that are on different levels in terms of importance, but definitely two games that are huge this upcoming weekend. And one with Colorado and Texas Tech that is a downright elimination game in the big 12 and in the CFP. Then we'll get into the CFP just a little bit. I'll break down. At least I'll go through each conference, give you guys an idea of my guess of how many teams get in from each conference and what the benchmark is, kind of how many wins you need to get to to be a lock-in, how many wins you need to get to, to at least be in the conversation, and so on. We'll break that down in the third segment. Then we'll get to the upset alerts of week 11. Definitely a ton out there, including a lot of top 10 teams that are going to be facing some really, really tough challenges this week. Then we'll get to my top 15. And it's a little bit all over the place after a crazy week 10, but I feel pretty good about the 15 that I got going for you guys today. But before we jump in, I do want to remind you all we get tons of questions and comments throughout the show. And the best way for you all to get your question on the screen, we can have a fun back and forth here, is to use that super chat at the bottom of the chat on the sports network page. You can click that dollar sign at any question, comment you'd like. It'll pop up on the screen, we can have a fun back and forth here. Definitely want this to be interactive. We're about to get into a really, really crazy time in college football. So any questions you have, I'm more than happy to answer them on here. And GSMCPodcast.net is still up and running does the exact same thing. So either one of those you'd like to use does the same thing and definitely will be a huge help to me and the network. But let's jump into this game because it's a huge one. Over there in Oxford, Mississippi this upcoming weekend, Georgia is going down and that's definitely something going down to Oxford, Mississippi, apologies, don't mean to be giving away anything too early, but let's jump into this one really quickly. And there's a huge one, no doubt about that. I think Georgia is coming into it with a little bit of an interesting approach. They're coming off a game at Florida where you win by 14 points. You have very little reason to be super upset. But at the end of the day, Carson Beck throws three picks for the third time this year and the questions about this offense continue to mount and you have a ton of different things that you have to kind of figure out. And if Georgia were to fall in this game, they're going to the Tennessee game kind of on thin ice for the CFP. If all miss were to lose, they're officially out of the SEC and CFP rankings. But the fun thing about this matchup is the quarterback battle. We talked about Carson Beck. He has struggled as of late and really in four games. He's thrown 11 different picks and four other games. He's thrown zero thing about that is in the four games that he's thrown the 11 they've scored more points than he then we've thrown zero. So I don't know what that has to do. I don't know what the thing to take away from that is. Maybe it is. He's got to push the ball down, feel a little bit more aggressively and do that a little bit more often. Maybe it is just they played a little bit better at defenses and he was being a little bit more conservative in those games. Who knows what is the story there? But definitely something to watch. Maybe if he throws a couple of picks, Georgia has a better chance to win. Who knows? But on the other side, you have a guy in Jackson Dark that's coming off one of the best games he's probably ever played in his life. 515 yards, touchdown six incompletions. He was absolutely incredible against Arkansas and he's going up against a defense, a past defense, 50 second in the country. So 211 yards allowed per game. Obviously Ole Miss, one of the better pass offenses in the entire country, gaining over 350 yards per game. So definitely going to be an interesting battle. There should be openings in the back end. The question is can Jackson Dark take advantage of them? And are they often enough for them to take full advantage and be able to get them plays that they're going to need in this game? And I think when we talk about this game overall, we have to talk about the Ole Miss defense because the reality is they're going to have to make plays in this one. I think this Georgia offense, if you avoid picks from Carson Beck, they're going to be relatively hard to beat. It feels like that run game is starting to get going, although they're going up against one of the very best run games in the entire country. Now on the other side, you have a run game for Ole Miss that is just downright bad. And they're going to be missing Henry Parrish in this game, it seems they're only averaging 3.1 yards per carry last week, even when they went crazy. It was Jackson Dark leading the way on the ground with 47 yards. That can't be the case on Saturday. They're going to have to get running backs involved. They're going to have to get Matt Jones and some other guys involved in this offense if they're going to be successful because the reality is Georgia is definitely going to have the pass rush to get home at least a couple of times. So you're going to have to get that run game going one way or the other or the quick pass game just going to have to be absolutely perfect if you're Ole Miss. And I think the good news for Ole Miss is they're absolutely elite at stopping their run on the other side. So will Trevor E.T.N. be the person that he or be the effect that he absolutely can be because Ole Miss is number three in the country, only given up about 90 yards per game on the ground, going to be really hard if Georgia wants to win this game, especially with Carson Beck's pick troubles. If they can't get the run game going, it could be a very long day for this Georgia offense. So they got a lot of stuff to figure out. No doubt about that. The Jordan defense I do think has enough to keep up with this one, but the reality is if Trey Harris comes back, if you have Jordan Watkins playing the way he is, if you have Juice Wells, if you have all of these guys, there's very few defenses in the country that are going to be able to stop that for four quarters. Now I could have said the same exact thing going into the Texas game. So it could be, this is just one of Kirby's smart spots and he gets his guys fully ready and they absolutely fly out of the gates and make some really incredible plays. But at the end of the day, I do think there's going to be an incredible battle one way or the other. Who's the best running back in the SEC, Big Ten and ACC? Oh, that's a very, very fun question. The SEC, let's go. Oh man, I'm battling with myself here a little bit. Big Ten, I know it's Caleb Johnson, ACC. I'm fairly certain it's on Mario and Hampton. For the SEC, that's one a little bit tougher. Maybe I'll get back to you at the end of this breakdown. Let's see if I can figure it out halfway through, but definitely going to be an incredible game. And let's get into some players that you're going to want to watch as we head into this one because Cash Jones is a huge player for Georgia. One way or the other, he is going to have an effect on this game. He is really good in past protection. He is a huge receiving back on 3rd down. And with Trevor every ten kind of coming off a little bit of an injury, it is going to be something that they're going to have to battle through. It is going to be kind of an interesting battle one way or the other. Can he get the opening that he needs? And also, can these linebackers for Ole Miss keep up with someone like this because he made a number of plays in that Florida game, including the touchdown that kind of put that game away? Then you got Dale and Everett on the other side because he's going to have to face with some real wide receivers. One way or the other, he's going to get either Trey Harris, Jordan Watkins, Juice Wells, Caden Lee, who we'll talk about here in a second, remarkable, remarkable players on the other side. And Dale and Everett's been playing probably the best football that I've seen him play in quite some time. He's going to have to play really elite football on Saturday. Then you got Caden Lee. He has stepped up in a huge way with Trey Harris out. He has been kind of that second option on the offense because the reality is he's a very, very talented guy. And he is someone that when you have so many different guys to keep track of, Caden Priestcorn and Jordan Watkins and Trey Harris, it could just be Caden Lee that goes for 150 yards and really hurts you through the air. Then you got Sun Chirine Perkins, a defensive end, linebacker kind of pseudo role for him, very, very talented guy. One of the more athletic guys in the entire SEC really, and one of the guys that absolutely can cause problems for these players as they get into this game because you have running backs on the other side that are going to be tough to do. Someone like Sun Chirine Perkins can make that a whole lot easier because he's so talented, because he's so athletic. Anthony, we're actually about to get into what's going on with Carson Beck because that's one of the keys to the victory and we'll start with that actually, the linebackers in coverage has been a huge issue for Carson Beck. It feels like he is forcing the ball into windows that he's not supposed to. And to a certain extent, it was something that a lot of fans at the Georgia level, you know, I have a lot of connections to that. They felt like he wanted, they wanted him to do that more. That was something that they felt like he left a little bit on the table last year because he was a little bit conservative because he was a little bit more, let's take the dump off, keep moving the chains and just go about our business. Now he's taking a little bit more risk. The problem is he's missing a lot of linebackers that are sitting back into coverage and he's throwing the ball pretty much into their chest because he's not just seeing those guys underneath. He's going to have to be sure that he's ready to see those guys on Saturday because Chris Paul Jr, TJ Dachary, Centering Perkins, they're going to be problems if he's not able to do that because he's thrown quite a few picks where he just under throws a crossing route where he just misses a linebacker. That's dropping back into coverage cannot happen on Saturday because that's a momentum change that could totally change this game and then you got to get creative in the run game. You got to find a way to get this run game going because Georgia's defense only gives up about 100 yards per rush or per game. And if you don't have Henry Parish in this game, it might have to be a little bit of juice wells. It might have to be a little bit of Jordan Watkins. You might have to play around with some different things just to get the opening that you need in the run game because Georgia is more than capable of sitting back in this back end and stopping this past game, at least stopping the explosive plays of this past game. The only way they can do that is if they can stop the run game with the guys they have up front. If you make them pull down a safety, if you make them pull down more linebackers, it is going to be a problem for them on the back end. And then you got to hit the first big play. You are in Oxford. Your fans know how important this game is. They know that if they don't win it, they are not going to the CFP the way that they very much planned going into this year. Hit that first big play. Give them a reason to cheer in. Really don't give them a reason to stop. That's the ultimate goal for Ole Miss and with that offense, you have every ability to do that. And then on the other side, I think we just talked about it. Bec's got to not force it. He feels like a little bit, yes, second guessing himself, Anthony, is a way to see it. It feels like he is throwing the ball in places where he thinks he should be able to get it. It feels like he is trying to create this offense instead of just letting it come to him in certain respects. And with all of the talent that Georgia has around, I know people talk about the passcatchers and they're not necessarily Georgia level. There's plenty of talent in that pass catching room. I absolutely promise you that they can have a very successful offense if they pass the ball, if they just take what's in front of them. And frankly, that's probably been the conversation with Carson Beck pretty much all week is just take the check down, take what they're giving you and move on. He's thrown 11 picks this year. He threw six last year. I think that'll start to come down throughout the year, but definitely something to be concerned as we get into this one. Long sustained drives is something they're absolutely going to need. Ole Miss loves to play with pace. They love to get after people and sometimes it doesn't necessarily work for them. They have a couple of quote unquote injuries, but at the end of the day, I do think it's one of those things where if Georgia can extend drives, if they can get the run game going, if they take some of those dumpoffs and get five yards on first down. Instead of forcing the ball and yeah, Anthony, you know, maybe overconfidence in his arm. Just kind of take what's given to you. Don't necessarily over force anything and move on to the next play. I do think that's something that Georgia can win a national title playing football that way. You want to make the big plays and I totally understand that. And you were able to with Brock Bowers with Lad McConkie last year. Maybe you're just not fully able to this year. Maybe you just need to take the five yard gain on first down, take the three yard on second down and then move on and move the sticks on third. So it'll be an interesting kind of trial run, I suppose, for Carson Beck as he goes on the road in an environment that can cause you trouble and really in general, Carson Beck on the road has not been the best quarterback in the world. We saw him in the early parts of that Alabama game. We saw him against Kentucky. It's not been all that beautiful, even against Texas through three picks. So absolutely needs a little bit of just kind of recalibration and we'll see what happens in this game. And then finally on the defensive side, they got to be aggressive in the pass rush. This Ole Miss offensive line is good. It's more than fine. It's not necessarily elite. And it seems like they're still dealing with some injuries in there. So this Georgia pass rush can get after you. And if they can in this game the same way they did against Texas, it's going to be very similar result. It's going to be a fun battle and definitely one that goes very much back and forth one way or the other. But at the end of the day, I'm going to pick desperation. I'm going to pick Ole Miss with their backs up against the wall. I'm going to say they're going to make just enough plays to win this one. I think Carson Beck at least makes a couple of mistakes. I don't necessarily think it's quite as bad of a game as he has been playing, but I do think he's going to make enough for Ole Miss offense to have that couple more possessions that they very much need in this one. I worry about the Georgia run game getting going the way it needs to. So I'm going to go with Ole Miss. It's a little bit out there on a limb. I'm going to go with the team that has their back up against the wall. And we'll see what happens. We'll see if they're able to get it done. We'll see if they can get that win. And Anthony, the answer question from before, the answer is Dylan Sampson. I lost it for a second, but the answer is Dylan Sampson. He has been absolutely incredible for Tennessee and really has been the offense for a large part of the season. So that would be my answer for your question of who's the best running back in the SEC. But at the end of the day, it's going to be an incredible game down there in Oxford, Mississippi, and definitely one that if Lane Kiffin wants to do what he promised, not promised, I don't want to say that. But what was expected of him this year, going to the CFP, possibly being in the conversation for the SEC title, you got to win this one. And I'm going to pick him to do it. It's definitely one that is going to be really interesting to talk about on Monday, but I'll pick Ole Miss and we'll see what happens. But let's take our first break here. When we come back, we got to talk about a couple of games going on in the state of Texas. Florida heads over to Austin for a huge one. Colorado heads down to Lubbock, Texas with a massive one on deck, and we'll break it down right after this. Holiday Magic is in the air at EyeFly indoor skydiving. I feel like I'm losing my mind 'Cause everybody in the world died. All righty. Welcome back everyone. We just talked about that Ole Miss George game, a huge game down there in Oxford. Want to address something Anthony said here? Yeah, it does seem like Kirby Smart is kind of dropping a little bit more trusting his guy. I suppose on the back end just a little bit more. Feels like this would be a game kind of like that Texas game where they dial up a little bit more pressure where they play a little bit more kind of zone coverage. Sit back just a little bit to avoid those big time plays, but maybe he does trust his guys on the outside, especially if Trey Harris doesn't go. Maybe he does trust his guys on the outside and maybe that is downfall. Maybe that's why they win the game. Who knows? But it's going to be interesting to see how he approaches this defensively because this is one of it's not the best offense he's faced thus far. But let's get into a little bit of a Texas two step was very excited about this title. I'll be totally honest with you guys, but these are two huge games. Two games that kind of have two very different implications obviously, but definitely are two that are going to have something to say when it comes to selection Sunday. And we'll start with that one going on Austin, Texas. Texas is favored by a little bit over three touchdowns in this game and it's going to be a very, very interesting one. It's one where Florida is coming in a little bit limping. They have a quarterback situation that they're going to have to figure out with DJ Lagway. Sounds like it's not quite as serious as we once thought thing is I think it's a little bit more gamesmanship from a Billy Napier than anything else. I do think it'll be Aiden Warner, but who knows? Maybe it is DJ Lagway out there. Maybe he is a little bit more healthy than we thought he was at least during that Georgia game. So that's going to be something really fun to watch for for Texas. I think it's just about this offensive line. You absolutely have to get this run game going. You absolutely have to get some type of forceful nature in your offense because you've lost that as of late. You know, the first parts of the season, they absolutely dominated the Michigan defensive line. And it really felt like this could be one of the best offensive lines, maybe the best offensive line in the country, and they still have the capability of being that team, but they've gotten worked for about two weeks. Now, the Vanderbilt game was a lot cleaner. It was a lot better. There were still some breakdowns and there's something that they're going to have to figure out. I talked about it. It's something that you can figure out on a bi-week because it's a lot of communication. It's a lot of timing. It's a lot of things that you don't necessarily need to see an opposing team on the other side to figure out. You do need to see an opposing team on the other side to see if you have figured it out, to see if it isn't a problem anymore. So definitely something that you're going to watch for. Can they get that push? Can they get moving downhill in the run game? And then also, the other part of that is, can they find the deep ball? When yours has, I think the ability to push the ball downfield, obviously something that he struggled with throughout his career, but he hit a big one against Vanderbilt. He hit a big one against Georgia. He has the ability to make those throws. He needs a little protection to make them because obviously he's been someone to be known to be in a little bit skittish, you know, dancing around just a little bit too much in the pocket. If you give him a little bit of time, let him set his feet, let him rip the ball. He's one of the best quarterbacks in the country. He has every ability to make this game one of the more dominating wins. For Texas, but also Florida on the other side has every ability to make this one a little bit sketchy. I mean, it's one of those spots where the SEC just showed you how talented these teams are from top to bottom. Florida's physicality is very, very good. Definitely can cause problems for Texas. And if they force some turnovers, this thing can get interesting in a hurry regardless of who the quarterback is for Florida. But some players to watch, I think Jared Gibson is someone you're going to want to watch just the rest of the year for Texas. You know, I talked about that run game and how they're lacking a little bit of physicality. This guy is physical. No doubt about that. He's about 5'10" over 200 pounds. He will run through you. And he's definitely someone that Texas is going to need down the stretch where you want to run a little bit more power. You want to run a little bit more lead. You want to get in between the tackles and really impose your will. This is probably the guy that's going to do it. At least the most consistently. I think when Travian Wiesner has every ability to do that, Jaden Blue is a little bit different. He's a little bit more of that third down back. But I do think Jared Gibson is someone to watch just for Texas going forward, not just this week, but really the rest of the season. And then you got Andrew Makuba. He is someone that is coming back from a little bit of an injury that he sustained in that Georgia game missed out on the Vanderbilt game. Very talented player. He made an incredible play in that, in that Georgia game for the first pick that they had on Carson Beckin. He's one of those guys that has really brought together that Texas back end. If Florida is going to win this game, they're going to push the ball down field, especially if it's DJ Lagway at quarterback. They're going to have to hit those big time plays. This back end is going to have to be ready for that. And then obviously you got to come up and run support. You got to make sure you're helping out with guys like possibly Montreaux Johnson. It becomes back from injury. Jaden Baugh, Jacobi Jackson, all of these guys. And Jacobi Jackson, actually the guy that I want to talk about Montreaux Johnson could be back in this game. It seems like it's still a little bit up in the air. He will not be 100%. And you're going to have to find different ways to keep this defense off balance. And you have a lot of really talented running backs. Jaden Baugh is a very, very talented freshman. Jacobi Jackson had a touchdown to tie that game late in that Georgia game. Obviously didn't go their way the rest of the way, but a very talented guy that absolutely can make this game a little bit tougher, because the goal for Florida is obviously going to be the run the clock to run the ball as much as you can. And then hit those couple of deep shots. Jacobi Jackson is hugely important, kind of for the same reason Jared Gibson is. He can run through. He's a very physical guy and could wear down this Texas defense just enough to get the win. And then we got Tyreeksap, a really, really good edge rusher for Florida and a guy that can totally take over this game, especially this, I mean, the same way that someone like Jalen Walker, someone like Mike Hell Williams did a couple of weeks ago. If these tackles are not fully ready for this guy, he's going to get after Quinn Eures and he's going to cause some problems and possibly force a turnover too. So definitely something to watch. One of those guys that could just walk in and be the darling of Saturday, honestly. But the keys to the game, we talked about it. The Florida quarterback situation is going to be massive. I would be surprised. I'll put it this way. I would be surprised if they're able to win this game without DJ Lagway. That being said, if he does play, how close to 100% of the can he push the ball down field that he, the way he wants, can he run the ball. That was the big time thing that I felt like was keeping that Georgia defense off balance. If he can't do that in this game, it might be a little bit of an uphill road. So definitely something to watch. I expected to be eight and Warner, but obviously we will update you throughout the weekend. We'll see what happens there. The Texas O-line against the Florida D-line. This is a very athletic Florida defensive line. Obviously not the one that necessarily jumps off the page. The same way Georgia's does or the same way Ole Missus does or a couple others around the conference. It's a very talented group. It is a group that absolutely is super athletic, super long, can do everything that you want them to do. The Texas O-line has struggled recently. They've had a number of collapses in pass protection. They've had a number of misses in communication. We'll see if that's figured out and if it's not, this Florida D-line could be the reason that they go in and get a big time upset win. And then you've got to find Quinn Euer's groove. It feels like he kind of founded against Vanderbilt. Obviously had the two picks, both on tipped balls, so I'm not going to hold that against him. But it's completed 17 straight passes in that game. It was one of those performances that you feel like he's pushing in the right direction again. If you can get back to that Week 2 Michigan form, it's going to be a really, really hard team to beat and could be rolling downhill the rest of the way. I'm going to go with Texas here. I could go out on a limb and pick Florida, but with the quarterback troubles with all the different things happening, I think it's going to be a little bit too much. I think that Texas offensive line will start to play a little bit better. I think there will still be holes and we'll still have to worry about that going forward. But definitely something where I think they'll play just enough better, where Quinn Euer's will get this thing going in. This Texas team will look a little bit closer to what it was in Week 2 than what it was against Georgia a couple weeks ago, and really what it was against Vanderbilt two weeks ago. So all pick Texas to win that game kind of went relatively comfortably and continue on their way this season. Then you got Colorado Texas Tech. This is one that I cannot wait for. I am so excited for this game. It's going to be an absolute battle at 4pm in Lubbock, Texas because this one's huge. It is an outright elimination game for the big 12 for the CFP race and for a lot of fans who feel really good about their teams right now. They lose on Saturday. There's a lot of people that are angry. I promise you for a fact, Texas Tech fans, if Colorado walks down there and gets a win, they're going to be really mad. If Colorado goes down there and misses out on a golden opportunity to possibly turn a corner as a program, they're going to be very mad. So it's going to be a very fun battle back and forth, and I think for Colorado, it's really just about their mentality. Kind of the same way it's been all year, and they've been able to answer the bell time after time. They've played really, really incredible football, really since that Nebraska game. Thing is, this is going to be a little bit different. You're going on the road to a team that is as desperate as you has, I don't want to say as much talent, probably roughly the same, but a really great team nonetheless. And a team that absolutely can cause problems for you. The thing is, it is going to be a battle one way or the other, and they're going to have to be mentally and physically ready to roll. And then for Texas Tech, you just got the winner of the year over Iowa State last week, and now it's really just about making sure that you handle this Colorado offense because your past defense has not been great by any means. If Colorado can take advantage of that the way that they want to, it is going to be a wrap. You're not going to be able to keep up with this offense. So the defense is going to have to step up. I think on the other side, the run game for Texas Tech has every ability to take over this game. We talked about Taj Brooks, and we'll talk about him here in a second, actually, but he's a very, very talented player and someone that can really cause tons of problems for you and really just take over this game by himself. So it's an elimination game. No doubt about that. In the world of the 12th team playoff, we get to know where these elimination games are. So this is going to be one in loving Texas and we'll see who can come out on top. It's probably going to be the team that can just keep their wits about them the best. Well, players to watch Taj Brooks, let's talk about him real quickly. One of the best running backs in the country, frankly, if you asked me who was the best in the Big 12 was Anthony, probably would be my pick right here. He's a very, very talented player and one of those guys that can just outright take over again. You can see it in his eyes right there. He runs a little bit angry. He absolutely can run through people in this Colorado team has been very physical all year. Can they keep that up against probably the best running back that they faced all year. And then you got AJ McCarty on that backhand. We talked about it. This Texas Tech pass defense has not been great. It's been giving up a ton of yards per game even last week, gave up a number of big plays to Jalen Noel. That can't happen in this game. There's too many talented guys on the other side. There's probably the best quarterback in the country on the other side. You have to be very careful. And if you can't, you know, fully stop them, get a couple of picks here and there. He does have a huge interception return earlier this year. Definitely something to watch in this game. On the other side, I think Lojante Western is a huge player. I think down the stretch of the season, really. He's going to be a massive player for them. There's so many different guys on that offense and there's so many different ways that they can hurt you. I think Lojante Western is the guy that can take the most off Travis Hunter and not necessarily that you need to take anything off Travis Hunter. He seems to be more than fine with the workload that he has, but you do want to be a little bit more variable. You do want to get the ball downfield, the will shepherd. You do want to get the ball to Travis Hunter when you can. And then you want to get Lojante Western on a little bit of a screen. You want to get him on an end around. You want to get him on these little gadget plays that get this offense kind of that next step, I suppose. It's not just we're going to pass down field. It's not just drop back and throw the ball. It's we're going to play around with motions. We're going to play around with endarounds. We're going to do a ton of different things that are going to cause problems. This is the guy that kind of opens that part of their offense and I think they've done a great job of utilizing him thus far. I think they might just get a little bit more creative with number 10 going forward. And then you got Lojante Bentley on the other side of the defense. These linebackers have been playing really good football through Colorado. Hasn't been perfect necessarily. They've missed a couple of times and in that Nebraska game, it definitely was a little bit of a struggle. They've played really good football since then. They've been all over the place. These edges have been incredible, but in the middle of the defense, they've been able to be at least out enough against the run. It hasn't been perfect, but it absolutely has been a whole lot better than last year and should be enough to beat this Texas Tech offense. Now, the Texas Tech offense can absolutely pass the ball around too. So it's going to be a fun kind of battle and we'll see which way Texas Tech leans a little bit more because it's going to be a battle of styles and you're going to have to figure out just where the openings are on this Colorado defense. But some keys to the game, Texas Tech pass defense. We've talked about it a lot. They're giving up 282 pass yards per game. If they do that on Saturday, they are going to lose, plain and simple. If they allow that amount of yards and frankly, should our standards will probably get a little bit above that, you're going to have some problems. If they can get a couple of INTs, maybe you get yourself back into the game, but they're going to have to make some big plays. They're going to have to be in coverage very, very well. And possibly it's just, you know, play three high shell, make sure that no one gets by you and live with the consequences of that. And we'll see what happens there, but it's going to be a battle and they're going to have to make sure that they are fully ready to go. And then Colorado's physicality. It has been great all year. It has probably been the most impressive thing to me, frankly, about this Colorado team is just their outright physicality every single week. That being said, Tajbrook coming downhill is a different level of physicality. It is going to be very, very tough to fully stop this guy and definitely be something that it's going to take everyone. It's not just about the interior defensive line, and it's not just about the linebackers. It's about the safeties. It's about the corners. It's about the edges. It's about everyone on that defense, just making sure that you can get those guys on the ground, especially number 28. But all of the guys that you're going to have to deal with and really just this offensive line in general, you're going to have to make sure that you can handle the physicality level. And frankly, it seems like they can, but there's going to be a little bit more of a step up than they faced before. And then winter go home. It's going to be a little bit of an interesting battle here because this is a high pressure environment. It is going to be totally dependent on which team can really kind of keep their cool, keep their composure, and then rise when the moment really matters. And it's going to be really interesting to watch because it's going to define the season in a lot of ways for both these teams. If they go out and win this game or if they struggle in it. And frankly, I think Colorado gets this one. I think the pass offense is just going to be too much. I think Shadir Sanders is finding such a groove. He probably should be more in the Heisman conversation than he is, but at the end of the day, I think they get the win here. I think they go down to love it get a massive win and continue on their way, possibly give themselves a shot to win the big 12, possibly go to the CFP and frankly make me look like a little bit of a dummy from the preseason where I said that was very unlikely. But here we are. Colorado is playing incredible football and I think they continue on their way this upcoming weekend going to be a massive game and cannot wait to see how that one goes down. But let's take our second break here. And when we come back, we got to get into all the stuff around the CFP, give you an idea of how many wins everyone needs from each conference to get in to be in the conversation, what teams could be left out. All of the craziness around the CFP will break it down right after this. We just broke down two huge games going on the state of Texas. We got Florida at Texas as well as Colorado going down to Texas Tech, going to be an elimination game, a huge one down there in the Big 12, and we'll see what happens in that one end. One team is going to be eliminated, one team still very much alive for that CFP spot from the Big 12, but let's get into that. Let's get into just how many wins gets you into the dance, how many teams are in the conversation right about now. It's quite a few of them as we head down the home stretch of this season and we'll definitely know more as this week expires and really next week is going to be a huge one as we get deeper into this season and try to figure out all of the craziness that is coming for us. Let's start in the SEC and give you guys an idea of where I think all of this sits and there's a number of different teams that are technically still in the race. Frankly, you could probably go down to South Carolina as crazy as that sounds. I do think South Carolina still has a shot in this race. You know, they're going to have to have a number of things go their way, obviously down the stretch of the season, but absolutely. They have really, really impressive losses. They have that huge win over A&M. If they keep rolling on their way, they beat that Clemson at the end of the year. Maybe they're a team that sneaks in. But let's focus on the teams that are a little bit more realistic just for the time being in. I think A&M is in a spot where they win out. There's no chance they miss out. Obviously, they're probably going to the SEC Championship. In fact, if they win out. So definitely something to watch there. I think if they lose to Texas and LSU loses to Bama, then you're in a little bit of a weird spot because that LSU win is the one you've been hanging your hat on. Missouri is going to fall out. I don't know why they were in the rankings yesterday. Totally different conversation. We can have another time. But at the end of the day, that's the win that A&M needs to stay good. If LSU falls out of the conversation, maybe A&M is a little bit more on the chopping block than they would be if they were able to go 10 and 2 and LSU was also 10 and 2 and in the dance. So that's going to be something to watch. And then I think the good news is we're going to get one big answer this upcoming weekend in the SEC. The Bama LSU loser is out. No doubt in my opinion. I think there could be a way where it happens, but let's be totally honest with all of the craziness going on up top. I don't think it's possible. I think the loser of that game is officially out of the running. The winner of that game, probably in a pretty good spot. If you look at the schedules for them coming forward, they should be fine the rest of the way. And then if UGA gets the win over Ole Miss, Ole Miss will be out of the hunt. So that could give us another answer and we'll see what happens with that one. If Georgia loses, then it gets a little bit more confusing out at the top and we'll see what happens in that Tennessee game, which then could be an elimination game. But for Texas, obviously winning out is the goal. It gets them probably in the SEC championship, although there's a weird tiebreaker that would get LSU and Georgia in, but that's a conversation for another time. But it's going to be interesting. If they lose to A&M, do they have the resume that the CFP Committee wants for them to put them in? Because it's not necessarily a hugely impressive win on that schedule, especially if they fall to A&M. So definitely going to be a fun battle and definitely one where it feels like 11 wins, you're a lock. Regardless of, you know, if you're in the SEC title or not, you know, we could have a number of teams at 11 wins. We could have a 10 win LSU get to the SEC championship over an 11 win Texas. But at the end of the day, if you're at 11 wins, you're a lock. If you get to 10 wins, a little bit messy because you have A&M who beat LSU. LSU beat Ole Miss. Ole Miss could beat Georgia this upcoming weekend. Georgia could beat Tennessee and Tennessee beat Bama. So it's going to be a nightmare. It's really going to be up to the CFP to try to figure all this out. And obviously, if Vanderbilt, if South Carolina run the table and a couple of things break their way, maybe they find their way into the dance. So there's a number of things that can happen in the SEC. As of right now, I'm going to guess it's going to be about four teams. I'm going to guess it's all of the teams that are minus odds right here. Not necessarily. It's those teams, but I'm going to guess it is four teams that have the ability to make it from this conference. I do think there's a chance that you get to five, but I think Notre Dame will probably have to fall out. I think Indiana would have to get disrespected and we'll get to that here in a second. But it's going to be interesting to see how this unfolds. Obviously, they still think Georgia and Texas are the class of that conference. They think Tennessee and Bama are right there. So it seems like Vegas likes Bama this weekend, but it's going to be interesting to watch this one unfold and definitely something where all seven of these teams are very much in the hunt and probably more. So we'll see what happens here. I'm going to guess four teams from the SEC make it, but it could get really messy and maybe five, maybe three. Who knows what happens in this conference because that's probably the craziest one of the bunch and then we'll get to probably the cleanest one of the bunch if I'm being totally honest because it's the four teams up top. You know, we could waste time on Iowa. We could do Minnesota. We could do Illinois. It's the four teams up top. No one else really has a shot to make the CFP from this group and it makes things a little bit more digestible. That is for sure. But for Ohio State, they handle business the rest of the way. They get to play Oregon in Indianapolis at the end of the year. They're both in no doubt about that. Oregon, Ohio State will be in the dance. Obviously, Indiana will have plenty to say about that. If they beat Ohio State, they're in the dance. And frankly, I think a 10 into Ohio State would get in, especially with the win over Penn State, but definitely something that it would put them at least on the chopping block. But let's be totally honest. That block goes probably getting into the dance at 10 and 2. And then I think the big variable here is what happens within 11 and 1 Indiana. The record is, you know, great. And the I test, if you're watching this team, you can tell how good they are. We'll get to that here in a second in a couple of segments. But the reality is they haven't had that big time win. And if they lose to Ohio State by 14 points, if they lose to Ohio State by 17 points, do you think the CFP would put them in? Frankly, I kind of think they wouldn't. I don't know if they would. You know, I don't know what the conversations are. Little worried about where they put them yesterday. But at the end of the day, I do think it's one of those conversations that it might just be a fight. Does an 11 and 1 Indiana get in over a 10 and 2 Tennessee? Do they get in over a 10 and 2 Alabama? I'd be a little bit surprised. I'll be totally honest with you. So a number of things can happen here. I think if Indiana's 11 and 1, they should be in, but not my decision to make, I suppose. So this is going to be a fun battle. I would guess those top four teams get in. I would guess that Indiana does get the nod at the end of the day. Still kind of precarious situation, obviously. But I do think they're going to find a way to get into the dance. Those five teams are the only ones that have a remote shot. I was not getting in. So it makes things a little bit easier. It's going to be those four teams possibly and then probably cut it down to three if Indiana doesn't make it. I do think you're probably at least getting three from this conference. Unless Penn State slips up again, you're probably getting at least three teams from the Big 10 and then we'll see what happens. We'll see if Indiana gets in with 11 wins. We'll see if they get left out with only one loss on the schedule. Then we got the Big 12 and this one is a little bit tougher to get an idea of because the reality is there's tons of teams that are still in the conversation. Colorado is still there. Kansas State, Texas Tech, BYU all the way up to them and we'll figure out what happens. But to me, it's a one-bit league. I think the one way that you can see this conference get two teams into it is if BYU goes undefeated the rest of the way. So does Iowa State and Iowa State wins that game in Arlington because then you would have a 12-1 Iowa State. You would have a 12-1 BYU. I think both those teams would again. Now if a 11-2 Colorado beat you as well or Texas Tech or Kansas State, I think that could apply as well. But that's definitely something that's a little bit more up in the air. If BYU loses a game to a two-loss team, does the CFP hold that against them? I don't think they should. I don't think anyone should get anything held against them for playing in their championship game, but kind of the reality that we're going to face, especially in these two conferences that I'm about to talk about. But I think the big thing here is if the BYU does fall before the title game, which is still very much on the table, we'll talk about their game upcoming against Utah this weekend. But the reality is, if they do fall, it's going to be a one-bit league. Whoever wins that conference is going to find their way in. Whoever losing the conference championship is going to be on their way out. Now, couldn't 11-2 Iowa State get in over a 11-1 Indiana possibly? It'll be interesting to see how they handle that, but I would lean that Indiana would probably get the nod there. If I'm being totally honest, maybe 11-2 Iowa State against a 10-2 Tennessee. It's going to be a battle back and forth, and we'll figure out exactly what the CFP thinks about these teams in general. And then, there's a number of different things that can happen here. If Notre Dame falls, that's kind of the big variable really in these next two conferences. If they fall, then things get a little bit interesting. If Notre Dame stays in, then probably likely that the big 12 is a one-bit league. Everyone is plus odd, so it gives you a good idea that Vegas is still very much up in the air about who's going to win this conference. Seems like those top three have separated just a little bit, but we'll see what happens down the stretch. I'd bet on one team, but two teams is possible for this group. And then you got the ACC. This one is a little bit crazier, because I think the variable here is Pitt. Pitt could go 11-1, have SMU go into the dance possibly win the ACC Championship, and you have an 11-1 Pitt, you have a 12-1 SMU, you have a 12-1 Miami. Then maybe you get three teams in. Maybe you have the opening to get three teams in. Maybe Notre Dame falls, and that opening gets a little bit bigger. Maybe you can knock out a couple of big 12 teams on the way. Who knows? But I do think it's one of those conversations where it really comes down to two teams at this point. It's SMU in Miami. I think if they run the table the rest of the way, if they meet in the Championship in Charlotte, whoever wins that game is probably in. If SMU were to lose that game, I think they could be on the outside looking in. As they are right now, sitting at number 13 in the CFP rankings, and then for Miami, if they were able to win out and then possibly lose in the ACC Championship, I think they'd have an opening, but I don't know. It's a little bit of a precarious kind of a resume for them right now with a couple of close wins, a couple of games they had to come back in, a couple of questionable calls, quote unquote. We'll have to figure out how they think about Miami, and I think this could be two teams. My prediction would probably be two teams, I think. I'm kind of fighting myself right now, but overall I do think it's going to be a really interesting game, but I think SMU might have to win that ACC Championship if they're going to get two teams in. So maybe it is just one team, maybe Pitt can sneak in at the end of the day. It's a conference that'll probably work itself out over the next little bit. Clemson and Pitt are going to play each other, that'll knock one of them out. So obviously a lot of this stuff will be figured out. Again, if Notre Dame Falls opens the door just a little bit more, Penn State or Indiana fall a couple of times that opens the door a little bit more. I would guess one team as of right now, two is not necessarily far fetched by any means either. So definitely something to watch here, and you only have Miami, that is minus odds right now. So it's pretty much them setting the pace, SMU, not shortly behind. Clemson, they're holding out hope for a theme that I'd be surprised if they found their way in. I think a lot of things would have to go their way. They probably have to win the conference, frankly, if they were going to find their way in. But at the end of the day, definitely going to be something to watch, and Vegas isn't getting Pitt much of a shot. So definitely something to watch there. And then the group of five will just give you the odds here, and it is Boise State setting the pace. No doubt about that. Army is a little bit down below. It's just because of that Notre Dame game. If they were to win that, they'd be the number one team in a second. I can almost promise you that. And we'll see what happens down the stretch. Army has a ton of tough games coming up. They have the Notre Dame game. They have a Navy game. And then you're probably playing either Tulane, Memphis, ULL, someone like that in the Sunbelt Championship, going to be a little bit of a battle in. You got a couple other teams here. Louisiana, we just talked about UNLV still in the dance. If they can win out the rest of the way, win the Mountain West, they would have a loss to Syracuse, and they would have avenged their loss to Boise State. So maybe they could find their way in Tulane, still a team that's very much in it. And frankly, I think the team that's probably the second best in the group of five behind Boise State. So definitely something to watch. Right now, I would bet on Boise State is definitely going to be one team from the group of five. I'd love to think that it's going to be multiple, but with the absolute log jam in the other conferences, I'd be shocked. Maybe if Army goes undefeated, then Boise State's 12 and one and Notre Dame loses. You have a little bit more of an opening there, but I think it's probably going to be one team. And then you do have Washington State that's not necessarily in the group of five conversation, but is in the at large conversation. They're seven and one. They're in the rankings right now. If they don't fall the rest of the way, maybe they're sitting there just waiting for a spot. So a lot of things can happen at that level. And frankly, a lot of things can happen all over the place. It is going to be a crazy battle to the finish in this last couple of weeks and maybe a couple of teams pull away in these conferences. Maybe they come a little bit more clear. Maybe the SEC has five 10 and two teams at the end of the day, and we have to figure out which two, which three, which four are finding their way into the dance. So it's going to be awesome to watch. It's going to be chaotic to watch, but it's going to be plenty fun and we'll definitely keep you updated as we move along. But let's take our third break here. And when we come back, we got to talk about upset alerts all around the country, including in the top 10. There's quite a few upset alerts that we're going to break down right after this. >> For the best and latest podcasts available anywhere, go to the podcast app on your cell phone and type in GSMC to access free content rich podcasts on health and wellness, book reviews, sports, entertainment, relationships, social media, movies, technology, finance, and even weird news. We just talked about the CFP tried to break it down as best I can. I do think it's probably going to be an SEC and big 10 party. If I'm being totally honest, especially the SEC has quite a few teams that still are very much in the conversation. And frankly, let's just be totally honest, that sticker on their helmet's going to help them just a little bit down the stretch. So we'll see what happens. We'll see how this all shakes out and definitely will be quite the top security road before we get there. But let's get into some upset alerts because I think there are a lot of top 10 teams that could possibly go down this week could put totally shake up this race and maybe knock a couple of teams out, maybe make it a little bit more digestible for us all. But let's go and jump into this and we'll start with the number one team in the country. Oregon is inviting Maryland into town. They're 25 point favorite. So I understand this sounds a little bit crazy. But I just think it's one of those spots. Overall, I think the rest of the season for Oregon is going to be really interesting to watch. They've been really able to keep their focus to play all these games like they very much need them, play them with aggression, play them with attentionality. That can all fall apart in one day. It doesn't necessarily, it's not necessarily something that sticks with you the whole season. There is one of those games usually that a team sleep walk, just a little bit. Maybe you have a little bit more ability to do that in this game than others. But it's going to be one of those games where if they can't keep their focus for all four quarters, if they can't be totally locked in on this task and only this task and not get lost in, we're going to the CFP. We're going to the Big Ten Championship. We're going to win in our first year, all of that stuff that is surrounding this program right now. Someone can sneak in and get one from you. And then for this one, Maryland is going to need turnovers. Let's just be totally honest with each other. Maryland is going to need a couple of big time plays. The past defense is not nearly good enough to fully stop down, slow down this Oregon passing attack. But if they get a couple of mistakes, the door opens pretty wide. And then for Maryland, they're top 20 in the country and stopping the run. Maybe that's the path to victory. You fully stop Jordan James. You fully sell out against this run. And then maybe you have a couple openings on the back end because Dylan Gabriel has to force the ball just a little bit more. Maybe you're just on full attack mode and you brush the passer a ton. You get after him a little bit, cause some havoc and really just jump on this team. And then you have them looking up at the scoreboard in the middle part of the first quarter end of the first quarter. They're down by 10 and they're wondering what happened. That's probably the way that Maryland's going to have to go about this. It's going to have to be a little bit of an ambush more than anything else probably. And it's going to be really interesting to watch. I think this one, like a lot of these upsets that I talk about, probably way more about Oregon than it is about Maryland, if Maryland's going to be able to get this win. I do think Oregon's probably more than fine in this game, probably a one out of five on the upset meter, but definitely one that I would just keep a side eye on at the very least. Cause maybe Maryland can jump on him and confuse this Oregon team just enough to get a huge upset. Then you got the Michigan Indiana game. This is one where it's really just about mentality more than anything else. Indiana is, they're looking towards the 23rd. Let's just be totally honest. They understand that the 23rd is the moment for that program. It's the moment for the season and it could be the moment that knocks them into or out of the CFP. Thing is you got to handle a team real quick. And Michigan is a team that has not played great football. This year by any means, Davis Warren is coming along. He's played good football in the last two weeks, has not turned over the ball, has completed the ball very, very well, has done really nice things. The last couple of weeks, obviously this offense is not explosive. It's not terrifying. It's not going to score 50 points by any means. What they can do is slow this game down. What they can do is make this a little bit gross, make this a little bit mucky, and then maybe Indiana gets in their head because the reality is Indiana does not beat Michigan. Just plain and simple. They do not beat Michigan. They hadn't beat Michigan in a very long time. Obviously two very, very different teams than they were a couple of years ago, even when they were last year. But the reality is you're still going to look across the way and see that block in. You're still going to look across the way and see that maze in blue and you're going to have to figure out how to handle it. So maybe it's just one of those college football spots where Indiana is rolling right along. They're the better team on paper. They're the better team when you watch them, but they just can't handle that one moment that they very much need to. Michigan could definitely spoil some things here. Indiana is not a team that I'm going to bet against. I'll go two out of five on the upset meter here. Definitely one that you're going to want to keep your eye out on, but let's be totally honest. Indiana seems like a well old machine right now and I'm not going to go against the Hoosiers. So moving on to a Mississippi state Tennessee game that might not jump off the page by any means. And frankly, I might just have a Mississippi state problem. I really like Michael Van Buren. I really like this team going forward. I think they have every ability to be very successful in 2025. Maybe I'm jumping the gun just a little bit here, but I think they're still looking for that big one. I think Jeff Levy is looking for that win that kind of gets all the recruits attention, something that pretty much every first year coach has to go through where you don't necessarily have to be perfect. You don't necessarily have to check all the boxes right away. You got to check one. And I think the one is get that big time win show everyone across America that you are a program that at the very least is heading in the right direction. So it's going to be an interesting battle. And then for Tennessee on the other side, you're going to Athens next week. You're going to the game that absolutely is more important than I don't want to say anyone on the schedule because obviously that Bama game is massive. But at the end of the day, it's a huge game and it's one that you're going to have to be focused on just a little bit here. And although the Mississippi state pass defense is not necessarily great. Tennessee hasn't necessarily been giving deep or hasn't necessarily been testing defenses and they've just been absolutely incredible at stopping them. Tennessee's just been missing chances. They've just been missing open receivers. They've just been dropping balls. They've just been doing things that doesn't necessarily matter who's covering you or not. If you're going to miss the guy deep, you're going to miss the guy deep. So it's definitely something to watch in this game. Maybe Tennessee's not a team that it really matters how good your past defense is one way or the other. If they're going to miss a guy if they're going to overthrow a guy. They're probably going to overthrow him one way or the other. Maybe the opening will give them a little bit more confidence in that. But at the end of the day, you stop that down down the field pass that a lot of teams have for Tennessee this year. You see what happens. They don't necessarily score a ton of points and they got a gut out a lot of wins. And then maybe that's where Michael Van Buren and Mississippi state show up. But for Tennessee, they're going to lean on Dylan Sampson. There's no doubt about that. They've been doing it all year. And obviously, it gives Tennessee some control in this world that they're going to find themselves in. But the reality is, Mississippi state has the ability to limit the gap in this game. And frankly, if they're going to lean on Dylan Sampson the way they have the last couple of games, you've seen what it brings. You know, a couple of misskicks here and there in that Kentucky game, it gave Kentucky a shot to be in that game. It gave Kentucky a shot to possibly win that game. So maybe it is more about Tennessee than it is about Mississippi state. I think it's probably a three out of five. I think there is an ability here from Mississippi state to go up to Knoxville catch Tennessee sleeping just a little bit. Michael Van Buren has a huge game and they go on to win. I'd be surprised. No doubt about that. But definitely something that I can see happening. No doubt. And then we got to talk about this game. I hate to do it to Miami fans, especially my guy Anthony. But at the end of the day, Miami is on Upset Alert. This upcoming weekend. Pretty much everyone is really when they play Georgia Tech in their rank this high. For whatever reason, Brent Key has his guys ready to go. Whenever they play a team like this, they are ready to roll. They always play these teams tough and they always play really, really strong. The thing is, they have a little bit of a quarterback situation. As they head into this one, Haynes King is still day to day. I would expect him to go, but I don't know. It's definitely still something that is very much still up in the air. Aaron Fylo could be making his first start for Georgia Tech. Maybe they go back to Zack Pyron going to be something to watch as you go into this one. And then for Miami, they're just in a spot where it's not necessarily a fantastic defense on the other side. The thing is Miami, the big thing they found over the last couple of weeks that has started to limit some of the mistakes that have been made, is they found the run game. The run game has given them a lot of control over these game. It's given them a lot of confidence in these games and Georgia Tech is very good at stopping the run. So maybe it's one of those games where Miami can't do the thing, that they've been able to do the last couple of weeks. It leads to Cam Ward forcing just a little bit more on those mistakes creep back into the conversation. We've seen it happen before. Definitely something that could happen in this game, especially on the road. Going to be a very interesting game and I think Miami is kind of in the organ position. We talked about it where it's all about treading water. It's all about winning games that you should win that you were favored to win that you have. I don't want to say no business losing, but absolutely are ones that you definitely should win. And it's one of those spots where it could get a little bit sketchy. I think Miami is going to win this game. I'm going to put it at three out of five on the upset meter just because of all the variables going into it. But I think Miami comes in a little bit angry about what happened last year and they probably get the win here. Then you got Washington Penn State. I think this is a fascinating game that's going on in state college because overall you have a Penn State team that is probably a little bit confused about who they are, about where they go from here and about how they kind of fully regroup after the last week because it felt like the moment. I don't know if everyone else felt this way, but at least to me, it felt like the moment where a lot of this stuff around Penn State could change, where a lot of the conversation around Penn State and Ohio State could kind of shift to a little bit more of it even playing field, a little bit more in Penn State's direction. That did not happen. And you're going to have to regroup. You're going to have to get back up and see what happens the rest of the way, but you're facing a defense that is really good. Washington's past defense is one of the best in the country. They. Oh, excuse me. They turned Miller Moss over three times yesterday and actually forced a little bit of a change at quarterback over at USC that we'll talk about later in the week, but definitely going to be something to watch and it's one of those things where if they can get a couple of turnovers from this Penn State offense, it could be just enough of an opening to win this game because I don't think Penn State's going to light the scoreboard on fire. Now, the question is, can Washington stop Kateron Island and Nick Singleton because they're giving up about 150 yards per game on the ground and definitely going to be the best rushing attack that they face since Michigan. You know, going to be something to watch, probably a better rushing attack than Michigan, frankly, with that offensive line, but it's going to be a relatively tough spot. And I think it really comes down to where's Drew Raller's head at? Does he have the ability to go into this game, play with full confidence, go in there against a really good pass defense and just kind of handle his emotions, handle the craziness and go in there and get a win. I'm going to put a four out of five on the upset meter here. I think it's going to get a little bit interesting in. We'll probably break it down in a little bit more complete terms tomorrow, but definitely going to be one. Watch out for it. And then finally, we got army going on the road to North Texas. And this is one that it really just comes down to that quarterback position. I don't know what we're getting at that quarterback position this upcoming weekend. I think Bryce and daily should be back, but I don't know. It seems still very much up in the air and they're kind of in a weird spot without them because this offense has the ability to move the ball. No doubt about that. They have Kanye Udo. They have a lot of players that can help them on their way to gutting out this win. The thing is you have an offense on the other side that is the very best in the country and pass yards per game. They're going to push the ball downfield. If they score 14 points in a hurry without Bryce and daily on the other sideline, does army have the ability to get back in this game? Usually throughout the season, they've only faced 34 passes per game. They're about to pace 45 passes per game on North Texas. That could cause some issues. That could cause a little bit of tired energy from this army defense and maybe this one gets to him just a little bit. Now, army should be able to run the ball. That is the good news in this one. North Texas outside the top 100 and run defense this year. They should be able to run the ball. They should be able to milk clock. Maybe it is. Just North Texas making a couple of big plays that keep this one close. I'm going to put a 5 out of 5 on this one. I think this is as dangerous as it gets this upcoming weekend. Especially if you don't have Bryce and daily and even if you do, you have an offense on the other side that can hurt you in a hurry and maybe it's just too much for army as they head into a huge one against Notre Dame here. Coming up, but a lot of games across the country. Really, that could be upset alerts this upcoming weekend. I found a couple more this morning when I was looking through the schedule. So we'll break down those throughout the week, but definitely a couple in the top 10 that could go down this week and totally shake up the entire country and the entire race going forward. But let's take our last break here. And when we come back, we got to get into my top 15. I'll give you my teams that I think would be in the playoff. I'll probably start giving my playoff picture next week, so be on the lookout for that. But overall, I do think my 15 teams are. I feel good about them. I'll leave it at that for the time being. We'll talk about it right after this. [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] [MUSIC] All righty. Welcome back, everyone. We just talked about all of the upset alerts all across the country this upcoming week, a lot of top 10 teams that could be in a little bit of trouble this weekend. Definitely some that would totally shake up the college football world. But let's get into my top 15 because this one got a little bit crazy. After last weekend where we saw a number of different upsets, we saw A&M go down. I would state go down. A lot of top teams, Clemson go down, who I was a little bit too high on. I'll be totally honest. But at the end of the day, let's get into my top 15 as it sits right now because I think it's one of those weeks where we could see another little bit of a shake up and a couple of these teams play each other. So we will definitely see the shake up there, but let's get this underway. And I'll start with Boise State. I think they proved a lot to me this week. And the first half, Ash and Jinti was essentially taken out of this game. Only had 37 yards at halftime, but Maddox-Matson had four passing touchdowns moving this offense very, very efficiently. They were able to kind of win this game in spite of all that. To be totally fair with San Diego State. So I'd love to see them continue to do that. I'd love to see them continue to adapt to all the circumstances. This is probably about as high as Boise State's going to go. I'll be totally honest with you guys. I don't necessarily think they're going to go much higher than this, at least in my rankings. Just because if I'm going to put them above some of these other teams, I'm admitting that they would beat them. I don't think they would beat a lot of the teams ahead of them. So I'm going to keep them at 15 at 14 on the have Ole Miss. They did a ton this past weekend. Obviously, a little bit fighting between Ole Miss and A&M here. Problem is leaving on Moss just went down for A&M. So I dropped them a little bit out of my rankings here and put an Ole Miss in this Ole Miss team. I've been a little bit down on since that LSU loss. They're still very much in the hunt. They often seems to be rolling right along. If Trey Harris comes back this week, they're one of the most terrifying units in the entire country. So it's going to be really awesome to watch this team down the stretch in. Frankly, this is a team that could go on and get to the CFP and possibly cause some trouble while they're there. Then you got Alabama at 13. I think this is a team that gets into the top 15 this weekend. They hadn't a huge one. No doubt about that. They hadn't a one this weekend where it could totally change this entire season. In the early parts, it was people thinking, "Is Kaelyn Abore right for this job? Does he have the ability to take on all the things he needs to? Is this team disciplined enough to win a national title to can this team be the team that ends up winning it? Can this be the team that gets in at 10 and 2 and then causes a lot of problem?" Like I just talked about with Ole Miss. So they have every ability to get a lot of things going. If they can get that run game going this upcoming weekend, they're going to be a tough team to deal with and possibly could be the team that we look up at the end of the year. They're sitting in that 8-9 spot and they cause problems. They beat the number one seed and end up being the team that finds a way to a national title. It sounds kind of crazy right now, but a win this weekend. A lot of stuff happens for Alabama very quickly. That team that they're playing this weekend, I have right above them. So they want to buy this past weekend with Alabama, so nothing really to change or report here. I think it's a huge game this upcoming weekend. This defense needs to play better football. I think they will because they'll be a little bit more prepared. The thing is running quarterbacks have caused problems for them. Maybe that's the difference in this game. So, some of them to watch there, but as of right now, LSU's at 12 and feel pretty good about that. I think they're a great team and I think they're kind of finding their stride in a number of different ways right about now, although they had a tough loss to A&M. Notre Dame here at 11, they're continued to roll comfortably in the field as of right now. If you were to ask me, they're just one of those teams that I'm still relatively skeptical of. I think they're very good. I think they have every ability to win a lot of the games coming forward to get into the CFP. Can they beat the teams that are ahead of them? Can they beat the top teams of the country? I don't know. And the funny thing is, they have a Florida State tune up for the Army game next week. That sounds crazy to say, but that's the reality of the situation. If they fall to Florida State this weekend, they're officially out and really if they fall the rest of the way they're officially out, but especially if they lose to Florida State. They're definitely out of the conversation, but they're really doing incredible things and getting this pass game rolling the way that it very much needs to. It doesn't need to be perfect, but needs to give them enough and it really has the last couple of weeks. Then we got SMU. I wanted to give them some love. They're a very, very good team. They're a team that with Kevin Jennings pushing the buttons at the controls, this offense is one of the most dangerous in the country. The front seven is very for real. Those linebackers are incredible. The defensive front is very, very talented, very lengthy, very athletic. It's going to be a unit that's going to be really tough to deal with the rest of the way. I don't necessarily think they're a team that maybe can beat a Georgia or maybe can beat a Texas. I do think they're a team that can be pretty much everyone on their schedule, including possible a matchup with Miami at the end of the year. They could be a team that gets a buy in the CFP. As of right now, they look to be about as dangerous as really anyone in the country. Then we got the team that gave them, excuse me, then we got the team that gave them the only loss of the season. BYU, I've noticed I'm a little bit lower on BYU than a lot of people out there and I don't mean any disrespect to BYU. I absolutely love them and have really enjoyed watching them this year, but the reality is I do think it's a team that has a little bit of luck on their side. Now it's a great thing to have, no doubt about that, and it's definitely something that they could carry the rest of the way, and they've been able to carry for quite some time, but at the end of the day, they're kind of on the organ wavelength. It's about taking care of business the rest of the way. There's not a game on that schedule that they won't be favored in. They have the Holy War this upcoming weekend against Utah, so it's going to be a fun battle, and definitely one team that could very well be a team with a buy, be very comfortably in the field, or with one loss, could be totally out of the field altogether. Then I got Tennessee at 8. I think there's a team that right now I feel like they are so close. I feel like they are literally 1% from being in a lead offense, 1% from being a team that can possibly win a national title, but if you're not going to hit those big plays, you're not going to do that, just plain and simple. Dylan Sampson is one of the best running backs in the entire country. He is not single-handedly carrying this offense to a national title. It's just not happening. You're going to have to find a way to push the ball downfield, and if Nico can't hit guys, if guys can't catch the ball when he does, it's going to be a problem. So although this defense and run game is as good as you will find across the country, if that pass game doesn't get going, they're probably not going to crack much higher than this number 8 spot. Then I got Penn State at 7. I think there's a team that is coming off a loss that has to be giving you a feeling that's a little bit too familiar right about now, but the reality is the group is still very great. The group is still very talented. The team overall still can do really incredible things. They have to find the offensive group. They have to find a way to spread the ball around. They have to get the run game going against these elite defensive fronts because if Penn State were to go 11-1, get to the playoff and then lose in the first round. Fans aren't going to be happy, plain and simple. They're not going to be happy with that. They're going to say the same thing. They've been saying for a long time where, when are we going to win that big game? When are we going to win the one that totally changes the way people look at this program? And frankly, I would probably be right there with them. So it's going to be a battle the rest of the way. In Penn State, you've got to handle business, you've got to get into the dance, and then you've probably got to win one. If you want the season to be successful, and if they're going to do that, this offense has to get going a lot better than it was last week. Then I got Indiana at 6. I'm sick of disrespecting Indiana. I probably could have put them higher. I'll be totally honest with you guys, but Curtis Work is a true Heisman contender. In my mind, the defense around Michael Camara is absolutely ridiculous. The Angelo Pons on the back end is playing incredible football. This is a very complete team. It's one of the best coach teams in the entire country. They play really complete football. They've won games in a number of different ways. Tends to be a blowout in their direction, but at the end of the day, they've been able to hold teams to nothing. They've been able to shoot out. They've been able to do things that other teams just haven't been able to do against the same teams that they've played. I'm going to go with Indiana right now. I've wanted to put them higher. I'll be totally honest with you guys, but when I really came down to it, if I said, "Are they going to be able to beat this team?" I couldn't quite do it. Maybe I'm wrong, and I frankly would love to be proven wrong in a lot of these scenarios. But at the end of the day, I was a little bit skeptical as of right now, and we'll see what happens in that Ohio State game. If they win it, they're shooting very, very high up. I can promise you that. I have Texas at five. I think there's really just, they move up because Penn State falls. It's pretty much that simple. They're in a little bit of a weird spot right now. They're still looking for that big-time performance that possibly Michigan-type performance that we saw earlier in the year. I think they still have it. I think they're a team that could get rolling downhill in November, could be a team that seems to be, you know, informed as they head into the CFP. You got to get a really good win over Florida this upcoming weekend. Obviously, I picked them to do that, but if things go awry again, if they sneak out with a three-point win, the questions continue to rise around this Texas team. And then I got Miami at four. This is a team that they're in the tread water part of their season. As we talked about, they have no teams that quote-unquote should beat them. They have teams that can beat them, no doubt about that, including Georgia Tech and Syracuse. Those are the two teams that I'd watch out most for, but this is really just what is the culture and togetherness of this team. It's been incredible thus far. They've been able to go through some really, really tough spots and respond every single time. It's going to be tested pretty much every single week, probably this weekend, and definitely at the end of the year against Syracuse. How are they going to respond? They've been great thus far. And again, like we talked about with Oregon, it's just one week. One week can take all of this away. One week can put you in a really weird spot. And one week could make you a team that, if you lose that ACC Championship, you're on the outside looking in. You're wondering what happened to this great season that started so well. I got Georgia at three. There's a team that drops just a little bit. There's still a great team. There is no doubt about that. The thing is if Carson Beck's going to make those one or two mistakes or three mistakes in a game, they're not going to be able to beat the elite teams. They're not going to be able to beat Ole Miss this upcoming weekend. They're not going to be able to beat Tennessee. They have to be careful, and they have to make sure that that is something that is at least somewhat figured out. I do think that Carson Beck pushing the ball down field is not a bad thing. I think he's plenty talented. I think his arm talent is really, really good. The thing is, at a certain point, you've got to just take what's in front of you. You've got to just take that five yards, that three yards, and move on to the next down. I think he will be better about that going forward. I've got to see it one time to feel good about it. So maybe this Ole Miss game. He has no mistakes. They win by a ton, and they bounce right back up to number two. But right now, Ohio states my number two team, and I think they proved a lot to me this weekend, and the biggest thing to me was they got the ball on pretty much their one-yard line. With about five minutes left in that game, Penn State didn't touch it the rest of the way. That means this O-line is rolling. That means this run game is what it needs to be. That means Will Howard is in control of this offense. That's what I needed to see. Just plain and simple. Really, since that Oregon game, that's all I've needed to see, and the back end had to play better. But at the end of the day, I had to see this O-line role, especially without Josh Simmons. They've done a great job. And Donovan Jackson did an incredible job at left tackle this past weekend. If they continue to roll, if that five continues to get better every single week, there's definitely a team that can find their way to the national title and do all the things that people were worried about they wouldn't do about this time last week. And Oregon's number one. They continue to solidify themselves as the top team in the nation. Obviously, we talked about it earlier. That can come crashing down pretty quickly. We've seen it happen before this year, and they did face a touch of worries against Michigan this past weekend, but we're able to get out with a win. Pretty comfortable win, although last touchdown with 25 seconds. Don't know what happened there, but I know some bettors were very happy with you. But at the end of the day, this is a team that absolutely can go on to feed. They give yourself a shot at the Big Ten title and possibly the top seed in the CFP. That is exactly what Oregon wants to do, and it's just about keeping your focus and getting to the finish line there. So, remarkable team and definitely one that is just setting the pace in the country right about now. So, it's going to be awesome week. I cannot wait for this thing to really get underway. We will pick that Alabama and LSU game tomorrow. We'll pick a number of big-time games tomorrow, including Miami, Georgia Tech. I'll give you my official prediction there, Michigan, Indiana. I'll give you my official prediction there. So, we'll get into a couple more tomorrow, but that'll do it.
