Well, it's the day before election day and tight congressional races and parts of our state, but every voter in the state is facing a pretty lengthy ballot. And joining us live in the Commisspreet Health Studio, some of our, one of our favorite people of the dynamic duo that we call the Dick and Dino Show. It is Dick Watams. We're trying to get Mike Dino on the phone with us right now. I appreciate you coming here in the morning. I saw you and Mike last night on CBS 4 talking to Sean Boyd and kind of giving a rundown. Look, we're 24 hours out. What is your feeling? What do you think right now, at least we'll start with the White House when you talk about the local races, but what are you feeling instincts at the moment? You know, Marty, I've got to the point the last few days. I don't even read poll stories anymore because they all sound alike and they contradict each other. I mean, one day she's up by three in Michigan and then he's up to that. And so I think the only thing we can conclude is there are seven states. All seven of them could go either way. I think that's what it comes down to. It looks like we do have Mike Dino on the line as well. Mike, thanks for joining us this morning. Hey, good morning. How you guys doing today? Doing well, doing well. We've been focusing on the presidential campaign right now and what we could see in the outcome. Did that go on on? Yeah, I think it is. I think it is. Yeah. But we're talking a little bit about what we can expect for an outcome in the polls. And the lack thereof of really being able to tell what it could be the outcome of it. But if you had to give a timeline, which I know is always the hardest thing, I believe President Biden was called on the Saturday following Tuesday, what do you think we could see in an overall outcome or an actual decision-making timeline? Well, I think people want to be accurate. Obviously, the former president is making a lot about inconsistency and ballots in different states. And I think people learned from four years ago, let's get this right the first time. And so I think it will take a while. I mean, it may go to Saturday unless we're surprised. I mean, we saw this Iowa poll, which was a little bit of an outlier over the weekend that showed Harris up in Iowa. And I don't know if that's any indication of momentum for her. But if somebody really gets the fast break and starts scoring a lot of points, you know, might end early. Let's see. Mike, do you think the state isn't Pennsylvania? Is that the one that whoever wins that, that pretty much decides it? Yeah, I think that is. You know, it's the Keystone State. Oh, well, yeah, I mean, I think it really does, really, it's a lot of focus. You know, the, you know, folks are there today finishing up their campaign. And so, yeah, that looks like where the, you know, that that's the, that is the center of the universe right now. Dick, before we pivot over to some of the local races that we're watching, obviously, this ties in with both the local and the presidential races as we had the reaction to the partial leak of passwords from the Secretary of State, Jenna Griswold to office. Do you have any concerns now when it comes to the safety and security of our elections? I have a lot of concerns, Gina. And I think that we should not trust the internal investigation conducted by Secretary of State Jenna Griswold. I got to tell you, there should be a full-blown outside investigation. I don't know if that's by the District Attorney of Denver or the Attorney General or even the FBI. Think about the exhaustive investigation that went into Tina Peters. Now we don't know if this is, if this is along those lines, but that's trouble. We don't know. And I heard her on your, on your interview and on some other media interviews last week. And she was awful. She cannot answer the question. She, she refuses to accept responsibility. And I just think that the elections tomorrow, but this issue is not going to go away. And on top of it, she wants to run for governor. And I got to tell you this, if this doesn't disqualify for her governor, I don't know what does. Mike, your thoughts? Well, I would say this, that it's just terrible timing for something like this to happen in Colorado. We certainly pride ourselves on running a smooth election. And, you know, it's a blunder that's hard to overlook at this point. So I think we need to get through the election, see how it goes. Certainly the governor has reassured us that there's some balance in checks and everything is in good shape. But if something else comes up tomorrow or the rest of the week in Colorado, you know, that's a very serious situation and it'll have to, as Dick points out, I think, you know, a third party or several third parties will have to look into it. Let's focus on the congressional races real quick, Dick, when we look at the 8th district, which has been very, very extremely close race between the two, what are you predicting between Yudira Caraveo and Gabe Evans? Very narrow victory by one of them. I mean, honestly, it's hard to tell. I mean, that district is so split and it was created to be a competitive district and it is. I think you've got two good candidates who have run pretty good campaigns, both of them, and it could go either way. And it's just been an amazing thing to watch. Mike, what do you think about, well, both kind of attack ads, but I've really seen the ads come out against Yudira Caraveo about, you know, she says she's split with her party but then you say, well, if you vote 90% of the time, you really don't with that. Are they having any impact? What do you hear from folks up there in Weld County? Well, you know, it is a district, certainly, Marty, as you know, that runs from basically Westminster, Thornton, up through to Greeley and so, you know, I think, I'm hearing from the lower part of the district, obviously, a lot of support for the Democrat, Yudira Caraveo and, you know, being an incumbent Congresswoman, she did a great job. I mean, you know, this year alone, easily, in certain grants and then brought in over a hundred million dollars for the district. So, you know, she's certainly proven that she can do the job and she's done it in a way that is very much a bipartisan approach and you have to in that district, as Dick knows, it is the most competitive district in Colorado and I think she's done a good job and I think she's shown some late momentum that's going to help her get over the top. Not as competitive, but definitely still talking topics when it comes to the other third congressional district and fourth congressional district, Dick, do you have any predictions of what we could see with those? Jeff Hurd will win the third congressional district, and Jeff fits the district. And I know that Frish has tried to run as a Republican in that district, but the fact is I think Jeff really matches the district and there's no doubt the eighth, the fourth congressional district is so overwhelmingly Republican. I mean, Ken Buck carried it by 22 points. The notion of a Democrat winning the fourth is just kind of unreasonable. I mean, Dick, though, has the electorate in the fourth, has it changed because I would think, and not that I have to tell you, when I think of Ken Buck, he was more the traditional kind of Republican. I think it's safe to say Lauren Bober hasn't, though, from my perch, looks like she's really tried to change her image, maybe to fit that district a little more. So has the electorate changed or did they see, do they see Bobert and Ken Buck in similar way, saying it's a Republican, they'll still advocate for me in the ways I'm used to. There's a huge difference between the third and fourth in that 50% of the fourth congressional district, Marty, is suburban Denver, that's Douglas County. And there is no suburban part of Denver in the third district. So that's the wild car that will be interesting to watch tomorrow night. If Douglas County, which represents 50% of the district, how they vote, and she's going to win. So the question is by how much, so we'll see. Mike, real quick, we don't have a ton of time left, but I do want to get to the number of propositions, ballot measures, amendments, everything that we saw. I mean, it took me about two hours to fill out my Denver ballot with like 26 propositions on it. I think she's still filling it out. I know. Exactly. Which ones do you think are going to be the biggest talking, like touching points that people will cover, because even covering our elections election night, we're not going to be able to get to all of them. Yeah, Gina, there's two. I mean, amendment 131 or ballot measure 131, which would bring in open primaries and ranked choice voting. People are going to look at that really closely on the statewide. And you mentioned the Denver ballot and Mayor Johnson is worked really hard to get the affordable housing measure path to our and so people will be looking at that real closely. I love both you guys and we'll have to get, we're going to try to catch up with you Wednesday. I know, of course, you're both going to be very, very busy, but Mike, I appreciate you joining us by phone. I always love to have you in studio, but I know you're busy as heck. So thank you. All right. Great to be with you guys. Thank you. And Dick is always appreciate you coming in with us. It's our dynamic political duo. We love them. It's Dick Wautom's Mike Dino.
