Yeah, exciting this. The Broncos are heading to New Orleans tomorrow night, coming off the loss against the Chargers, here at home on Sunday as well, and joining us in studio with a preview of the game. This is kind of fun. Let's just keep having you in twice a week, and twice on Sundays, and just-- Are you having fun? No, Rick. You know what? I enjoy talking to you guys, but it's great to be on here, and yes, we are heading to New Orleans today, later on this afternoon. Broncos color analyst, host of 1035, The Fox, this Rick Lewis Show, it's Rick Lewis. Rick, tell us a little bit about what this schedule is going to look like going forward, because, like we said, quick turnaround for the game tomorrow. Well, you don't have a whole lot of time to practice. Basically, what you're doing between Sunday and Thursday is healing up, you know, doing IVs, and massages, and stretching, and hot tub, and cold tub, and all that stuff. And, of course, you're doing a lot of mental reps, looking at film, going through your game plan, but a very light week of practice going into Thursday night. Probably a very light week for Patrick Stratton. He's out, isn't he? I would sure think so, having a concussion on a Sunday, and then playing Thursday, probably a bad look for the NFL, I'd be shocked if you played tomorrow night. Same thing with Chris Olabe, the very talented wide receiver for the Saints. He had a concussion Sunday too. There's no way he'll play tomorrow night. It sounds like there's several injuries on the Saints side that I'd obviously never want to wish for injuries on either side, but sounds like it could maybe be a little bit of an advantage for the Broncos. Yeah, they look like a mass unit. I believe seven starters out on offense alone of the original 11 that started the season for the QB, including Derek Carr is out. Yep, they're going to start, I think Spencer Rattler will start for them tomorrow night. He looked pretty good at times in his first start last week. Really talented guy. He's kind of a wild card for me. I'm not sure what to expect from him, because he's got a really, really good arm, excuse me. And he's also very athletic. And this guy, talk about swaggy. This guy's got so much freaking confidence, which is what you need as a quarterback in the NFL, especially a rookie quarterback. I've watched this guy play, he played at a pinnacle high school in Scottsdale. He was a big deal then went to Oklahoma and there was a time when people thought he might win the Heisman or be the overall number one draft pick when he was at Oklahoma. It didn't work out. They brought in Caleb Williams who took his place, but he's got a lot of talent and I think he could be dangerous tomorrow night, but the Broncos will blitz the heck out of him tomorrow night, which is probably the best way to beat him a lot of chatting back and forth. I don't know if you, I'm sure you and Dave talk about this. It is a short week, but coming off a loss the way they lost where they didn't get going till late. I wonder is getting back on the horse soon after that. Is that a good elixir versus having the wait a full week to try to play? I think so. The Broncos talked after the game. In fact, Bo Nick said after the game, if we could go practice right now, we would, you know, and I think fans probably feel the same. Hey, let's just get right back in there and play a game, get this bad taste out of our mouth. Same thing for broadcasters. I'm excited to get this, get this game Thursday night, win this game, then you got a, a long weekend, kind of like a mini bi week and get ready for a bad Carolina team at home. I wanted to follow up with that because these are two in my view, very winnable games. You win this game to your point, you get the long week and then we've got an awful Carolina team coming here. Is that games here? Right? Yeah. So, so it's like, this is a chance to get two very winnable games and continue on what looks like a nice upward trajectory for the, for the team. Yeah, absolutely. Losing to the Chargers at home, man, that was disappointing because that's a divisional opponent and a team, you're going to be probably battling for a wild card spot with. And so losing that game was, I was a big, big win for the Chargers, moving forward after these next two games. You have two games on the road against Baltimore and then the Chiefs. So yeah, you really need to win these next two. And looking at it so far, it seems like the Saints are slightly favored over the Broncos for this. Yeah, it looks like a point or two. Yeah. I think it will surprise you or on the road in a short week, you know, it's probably pretty typical. That means the Broncos are really the better team by three points. They usually factor that in, I think, I don't know what to do on this. I think the Broncos win the game if I, if I was a betting man, what is your betting app tell you? My betting app tells me to take the Broncos in this game because of all the injuries. I think you'll see a much better effort from them. Final question. Is there a there, there, any intrigue with Sean Payton returning home to where he won a Super Bowl with the Saints? Yeah. It's going to be, it's going to be really interesting to see what type of reception he gets there. He did win a Super Bowl there. He won a lot of games with them, but he's not exactly a warm and fuzzy guy, as you guys are probably picked up on even he would tell you that. Right? In fact, he said the same thing. I'm not expecting any flowers and warm fuzzies going back to New Orleans, but Drew Brees is going to be honored at halftime. He's going into their, their Hall of Fame and Drew Brees wanted to be honored on this particular game because he knew Sean Payton was going to be there. Broncos taking on the Saints, New Orleans tomorrow afternoon. Our game day coverage begins at noon kickoff 6 15 here on KOA Broncos colorist color analyst host of the Rick Lewis show on one oh three five the Fox Rick Lewis. Do you guys get any opportunity to have some fun in New Orleans while you're well there? Not too much because we're going to get in late tonight, but tomorrow we have, you know, about a half a day free, we'll go get some lunch somewhere. That's about it. There's going to be any gambling and strip clubs and breaking. Number of industry. No, no, no, no, no. You can google the Obits. So when we have you on again, we can do our good rockers. That's good. That's good. Thank you. Always fun, guys. Thanks for having you on.
