Jason Harris and Eden Landscaper has posted a picture of a black bear on their property in the central area. Eden Police Department is sharing information about bear sightings from North Carolina Wildlife Commission. Their range is expanding into neighborhoods as bear populations increase and more new homes are being built. Here are some tips. Do not feed bears. It rewards them for coming into neighborhoods. Remove or secure all potential food sources. Make sure dumpsters are locked, bolted, and garbage cans chained down. Clean outdoor grills. Remove bird feeders if bears are in the area. If you feed pets outside, do not leave food out overnight. There are no repellents that are registered for use on bears. I'll have a podcast soon with the North Carolina Wildlife Agent. We'll be talking about this and other things hopefully next week. Readsville Police Department Weekly Report. Donnie D'Shawn Blackwell, 30 Robinson Drive, DWI, and Drug Violations.
