It's time for the how a car show, even just now allowing the women to have brackets and what that does to encourage people to talk more about the women's teams to watch them and at the top of the second half, it's 16 tonight. Easton leads the scoring with four. These gals sure do make it look difficult. Live from the Matthews Brothers Studios, I should start by saying the only reason I'm able to stand here is because of the Greek community. Choir, the nickname I'm very proud of, I am Joe Bidenopolis. Before that, she was an ambassador and a Biden Obama, a double Biden. Yeah, I don't know. Whatever it is, it's not right on the teleprompter. Who's your captain? How he got? He made that endorsement 2020. Are you happy with the state of America? The endorsement that I made years ago with Biden was one I thought was the best decision for me at that time. Am I gonna do that again this year? That answers no rum swabs hacks and the moon bats beware. It's Howie Carr. Welcome to the Howie Carr Show. If you've been wondering what it's like inside the migrant shelters, so-called in Massachusetts, also known as flop houses for foreign freeloaders, we've got some pictures from inside, only a couple, but we've got them. And I've told you about the free same-day dry cleaning service. You just take your stuff down nine o'clock to lobby of the what used to be a hotel for Americans is now a now as an alms house, a flop house for foreign freeloaders. You just drop off the bag and it comes back by five o'clock. You don't have to you don't have to go to the dry cleaner. They just come and pick it up and they deliver everything back to the illegals folded, pressed, dry-claimed free of charge to them, not to us. We pay for it. There's a there's a whole like there's a picture photograph of the the bags going out at nine o'clock and they'll be back this afternoon or they were back yesterday afternoon, wherever the pictures were taken. And then we also have a picture of a nice nice motel room that you know used to be a place where people stayed, businessmen or gramps and grandma coming in for juniors, high school graduation or whatever. Now it's occupied by usually a single mom and a couple of kids, the woman's pregnant of course to get another anchor baby. And where do you see the cockroaches in this room? We just tweeted that's just a couple of pictures. We may have more as we as we go forward, but this is just a sort of a tease for you. These are the first two we've gotten from inside because you know we have to make sure that the hotel or motel, the flop house, can't be identified. But you can see him at we tweeted him out at how we car show at how we car show and you could you could check him out if you just follow us on on Twitter. Pretty pretty horrible. Pretty hard. Your tax dollars at work. The Herald had stories today about a four of the no bid contracts that went out. They're slowly the state is slowly coughing up the documents on all of these no bid contracts like through this this company, the ravioli company in East Boston, Spinelli's. And there's a car service in on Cape Cod, Mercedes cab company. I think it's called Mercedes. I you know I guess that's just the name but still I would I would prefer it if they're gonna get the if they give something to the illegals I've preferred to be named Kia or Honda cab company. But that's just Oh, I got so many illegal alien crime stories here today. But first we've got some Biden cuts to play as well. He was in in major major pandering last night at the Greek Independence Day dinner at the White House and then today he was in major slurring. And I think I think they put him in Baltimore at the Francis Scott Key or should I say Francis Scott King as KJP calls it bridge. And I think I think they did it on Friday afternoon so he can just go back now to Rohoboth Beach and get into the iron lung and you know have us have a series of doctor feel goods visit him over the weekend and God only knows what they're putting into his veins. Whatever it is I'll tell you though it's not working. Maybe it maybe it worked to a certain degree back in I don't know twenty nineteen twenty twenty it does this not working anymore. That's the way it is with these miracle drugs. They're miracles until they're not miracles. But at first I want to tell you I want to give you another another woke update from Harvard University. Harvard University. They wonder why and why applications are down. They wonder why the the contributions are plummeting. Harvard University's office for equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging were once again host affinity celebrations at its twenty twenty four commencement according to documents obtained by the National Review. Belonging you they want you to belong unless of course you're a white male. Harvard plans to hold a disability celebration. A global indigenous celebration. Wait a second I'm from the globe. I'm from I'm not from the globe I'm from the herald but I am from the I'm from the planet. Isn't everybody indigenous to the globe when you get right down to it. A global indigenous celebration I guess that means it's open to everybody. Come one come all if you're a people person. An Asian America Pacific Islander. Desi American celebration. Desi American. I know Desi Arnaz who's married to Lucio Ball. I guess these are the descendants of Desi Arnaz as another talk show host put it this week. A first generation low income celebration. Does that mean you used your family used to be rich but you're the first generation that doesn't have any money. I mean this is what it says first generation low income celebration. A Jewish celebration now they never used to have a Jewish celebration but the the Jewish people complained so now they have a Jewish celebration. They have no white people celebrations though still. A Latinx celebration. A Latinx celebration. Where are you from? Do you speak English? Oh that's a micro aggression I forgot. A lavender celebration. Gee who could that be referring to does that mean if you like lavender soap. A black celebration. A veterans celebration. And an Arab celebration. The university will also hold a central commencement ceremony for students of all backgrounds. Oh that's very nice isn't it. Alright. Desi. Desi Arnaz his descendants have their own their own ceremony at Harvard University. Eight four four five hundred forty two forty two affinity. Nine one nine the question is are illegals doing the illegals laundry. Sometimes the illegals have complained apparently that their clothes are lost and they just because they just forget to take them out of their brand new cars that they're buying with their welfare checks that they're getting in addition to free room and board. No but nobody ever complains because they're I mean these I mean the dry cleaners like the caterers like the people loan the motels they're just getting rich. I mean they're disrupting the state they're wrecking the communities these are these people are in there they're stressing beyond belief the first responders who have to keep coming out for these nonsense calls or them raping one another or attacking them or whatever chronic crimes they're committing. They're they're they're overloading the schools but you know the the people that the people are getting these no-bid contracts are doing doing very well indeed. Eight four four five hundred forty two forty two three three nine are the illegals being driven around in an EV. I don't think they are but you get Uber's you know they I like the fact that they offer them free public transportation but who's taking a bus? Who's waiting for the bus to come when you could just order an Uber or a Lyft. Eight four four five hundred forty two forty two bill you're next with how we car go ahead Bill. I would like for you to call me off here. I guess I got information that you probably wouldn't want to do on here and I'd like to you know just talk to you about it and see what you think. My impression is that you it'll it'll get you a little bit excited but it may be pass a and and you know you may not want to even get involved. What does it involve? Just briefly tell me. Well I got to well I would I mean I can tie it back to Kennedy but but but you know but it's you know okay okay. Leave your number with Mark and I'll try to give you a call sometime next week. Thanks Dave you're next with how we car go ahead Dave. Hey how do I get some action on that sixty four dollars a day. You know that's for a family of four that's over two hundred and fifty dollars per day or almost eighteen hundred dollars. I know you know Dave sixty four dollars a day was when it started. Now I've seen numbers that it's up to sixty seven dollars a day with binomics sixty seven dollars a day. I've seen some of these people coming across the border and I can see how they could eat that much food. They certainly didn't lose any on the track up here. I'll tell you that. Well you know Dave Dave do you I know people I think there are a lot of Americans who don't spend sixty four dollars a week on food. I'm sure they don't. I'm sure they don't. I'm sure our our veterans don't do that. This is insanity. I'm not a fan of Trump at all but I wish you were in place instead of Biden right now and I don't know how anybody can make the case to vote and provide. Our vote doesn't make any difference in Massachusetts but it's completely this is insane completely insane. It's more money to be thrown at problems. I know I know. I know. You know this is this is the tip of the iceberg what that you know what I've reported you know with what's going on in the migrant shelters and again now you can see some actual pictures. This is these are just a couple of pictures but you know and these contracts that that that that are now being released to the Herald this is just the beginning to that the the low ball fit the state has no idea how much money is being spent. The Senate chairman of Ways and Means Rod Rick's he's not not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree. He's saying it's about a billion just under a billion dollars. I think it's at least two billion dollars and it's just it's sucking money out of everything they put on a hiring freeze on the state. They've already they've already been cutting back you know discretionary grants to local cities and towns. This is just gonna get worse and worse because they're all they're all coming up here. 72% of them are from Haiti. 10% are from Ukraine. Why aren't they why aren't the people in Haiti fighting to overthrow a barbecue in his cannibal gangs. Why aren't the people in the Ukraine fighting the Russians if you know they want us to fight they want to join NATO and get everybody in Western Europe in the US in the war. Why aren't they fighting. 844 542 42 844 542 42. Ever notice how when you ask moms what they want for Mother's Day so many of them asked for just one day a peace and quiet. Silver Dave will work with you directly contact him at local silver mint.com/local silver mint.com. Jared what's the poll question? What are the results thus far? Today's poll question which you can vote in at howiecarshow.com is which candidate will RFK Junior take more votes away from in the fall? Donald Trump, Joe Biden or neither he will be a negligible factor. I think Joe Biden, 80% of the audience agrees with you Joe Biden, 13% for him being a negligible factor and 7% for Donald Trump. I think but there will be few. There will be a few and you know the Democrats do March and lockstep but still I you know even Democrats are gonna have a hard time voting for for Joe Biden or a lot of them anyway the ones that are on welfare. Maybe that's a negligible number in and of itself. 844-542-42. Let's see here. Bob you're next with Howie Car, go ahead Bob. Hey Howie how are you? There was some good and comforting news today though. I don't know if you heard but Joe Biden went to assess the damage of the bridge today. Yes. So it's good that he got a chance to get a look. Usually he's on his train heading over the bridge to get to work. So I'm glad he was there to assess it but as far as all this money that's being spent Howie, did you know that the whole entire state all the state facilities have banned the natural gas and want to electrify every single building including state universities and colleges? Do you know how much that's gonna cost? And do you know that the utility their electric bill will be four times what they're paying now for heat? I know I wrote I wrote about all these energy hacks that she's hiring. Mara Healy the governor before before the hiring freeze. She hired these two women named Melissa to run different offices of the energy. One of them is the climate initiatives or climate resiliency and the other one is of of energy transformation. They're just to all they're doing is writing papers and advocating and implementing and you know consulting and they're each making over $165,000 a year and they both donated a grand to Mara Healy. What a coincidence huh? And they both have the same first name of Melissa. And how about this Howie? $35 million for Salem State. The bid just went out to convert to all electric heat. And just so everybody knows when you use electric heat, it's four times the cost of natural gas four times. Yeah. So and by the way, I believe you we have a I don't think we posted the column yet. We're we're a little shorthanded here today. It's a Friday. So you know we'll get the column up if you haven't read it if you haven't read my column on the Harold website yet. So we'll we'll get that up and you can read about all the they're hiring all these these people to work in so-called energy. But they don't produce any energy. They produce hot air is what they produce, which I guess is a form of energy. But it's it's not getting it's nothing you can use to heat your home. Let's put it that way. I'm Howie. Live from the Matthews Brothers Studios. 844-542-42 where the pictures of the flop house can't find them says 401. We're gonna we're gonna I tweeted them out there they're out there at Howie Car Show. But we're gonna put them up on the website - and I'm putting up the column right now showing all the all of the hassles that the state government admits they don't know how many people are there. They don't know how much money is being spent. They do know that they're hiring all these people named Melissa who give a grant to the governor to to work in the energy department for a hundred or very new energy offices for 165,000. And we've got some more information on the the Spinelli's contract $10 million no bid. We got some more info on that. But first I want to talk to John from New York about the markets because the the employment report came out today and boy did the Democrat operatives with cheerleaders have their pom poms out. But there's a little less there than meets the eye. Is there not John? Yeah how it was more of like what's behind the details the number on the surface look they they use this establishment data where we call the business up and say how many people are working that was plus 300. But then the household survey where they go out and survey people are you working or you're not working that was up like 498,000. But here's where you get into details. The the actual number of jobs full-time jobs declined 6,000 last month and part-time jobs went up 691,000. So as I told you. I'm sorry I shouldn't be laughing that's not good news but I mean again they made they made it sound like you know happy days were here again you know it was morning in America. Well yeah you're you're gonna have them tap this stuff and as you know the revisions are used one thing I always do I sort of look what happened a year ago. So I looked at this household survey. So from one year ago March 2023 to March 2024 the number of full-time jobs declined 1.3 million. That's on a base of 134 million. So essentially you've had a 1% reduction in full-time employment. Now part-time employment's picked up. 5% of the population 5.2% of the population were approximately 8 million people are working two jobs or multiple jobs I should say. So overall I think you know you're going to see these numbers revised downward. They're trying. People openly mock them because they say these numbers are so far crazy basically how you can have up 300 down 200 they revise them and take them away. So what I don't know what was the what was the latest revision from the previous month? Last month was revised down only 5,000. The big revisions take it really takes about six months for them to get really good data. So a lot of these numbers you know again on a 134, 140 million people working type basis. You know if you're off by 100,000 it's not that much. But the other thing I wanted to draw your attention to there's so much stuff in the journal today but I wanted to highlight this in particular because we're talking about inflation. The Wall Street Journal sent I guess a reporter at and said here's a hundred bucks and then compare what you could buy today in food versus five years. I have that story in front of me. Yeah let me yes go ahead. The one in the newspaper wasn't as good. They have one online but I'll give you a quick summary. It said commonly purchased items have increased 36 and a half percent over the last four years. The government's CPI figure show the actual numbers 25.2. So that shows you how like you know these numbers are being goose. I mean they're always inaccurate when you're dealing with the government but but the different the actual number when the reporter went out and surveyed the thing was 36 and a half percent. The government only reported 25 inflation and that's meaningful. That's the difference between the eight and like five and a half. Yeah I'm just looking at the tweet that Kerry Lake sent out and it's based on these numbers from the Wall Street Journal there. The charts on the journal aren't that hot but she she boiled them down. Eggs are up 63 percent. Sugar up 48 percent. Dish so 46 percent. Sandwich bread 34 percent. Cereal 29 percent. These are pretty much staples. Yeah I mean you have to buy them and the other thing is too that didn't account for in the detail of the article it didn't account for the shrinkage as Biden calls it. So the actual prices are probably even higher and it's just it is amazing and so overall I mean I think you know you got basically there's been the one thing I have noticed you know I told you before I didn't think we're going to have a recession I've been right so far but the one thing I have noticed in the last two weeks the number of job layoffs large companies are coming through day after day 5,000 here 2,000 there. Like here's one here's one in a real basic commodity. Quaker oats shutters Danville Illinois plant 500 plus workers lose their jobs. These are they manufactured granola Quaker oats granola bars cereal and pancake mix again these are staples. Yeah yeah we haven't even got through the auto sector yet where there's been layoffs so overall what I would say is and by the way our favorite today gold was up 36 dollars an ounce 2350. Exxon Mobil had an all-time high today at 122 that was $95 in January so the markets believing that you're going to have higher inflation no matter what Biden says before buying gold and they're putting them into staples because there's nothing more staple than fuel and gold unless it's food gold right that's it. Yeah yeah yeah yeah and I like they the quote they had a quote from a 74 year old woman in this Wall Street Journal she said she treats the grocery shopping these days as though she's foraging during an apocalypse. I think we are this is this is the Biden apocalypse that's going on here. Chicken is always on sale somewhere she said uh my wife for when it's worked when she goes shopping now she said she goes to three different stores because and she said it's an ordeal because the prices are just you know crazy and you know our our food goes skyrocketed like everybody else's so it's it's really it's it's not a good situation and the stock market kind of you're really had a big upset yesterday and then it bounced back today but i'm watching gold and oil oils 88 dollars a barrel today. So you've been saying it's going to hit a hundred dollars a barrel and Goldman is saying that gasoline is going to could well be four bucks by the by May which is about three weeks away now. Yeah if usually oil prices peak in you know July because the usage peaks then and they stop producing as much gasoline that's a peak period. So if we have any kind of offset with the war I mean this might be it and by the way if you have gold or you have oil I mean I think gold's probably going a little bit higher here but I mean it's up 14-15 percent year to date if you want to sell some it's up like 27 percent since October uh well um it's actually done better than stocks so you know I wouldn't really be chasing that stuff here at these I mean it's it's probably going higher because they're going to print money but it's had an awful good run so yeah and again if you want uh you know you can go to local silver silver mint dot com local silver mint dot com and that's where silver Dave is he's got gold and silver and uh he's he's willing to uh to talk with you directly and wear no hamster uh john thank you for checking in I was thinking to you today when I when I heard him going crazy at uh you know uh at 830 when the numbers came out and then I then you know I thought well there's got to be a little more to it than this but not that you're going to see it on CNBC or but uh you know the reality is is not what they what they make it out to me is it ever well now and you and like I say when you when you're dealing with a base of 130 or 160 million jobs somebody said to me well how can you get it how can it be 300,000 instead of 100,000 it is sort of a rounding error but but there's no doubt that that these numbers don't comport you know recently in particular with all the layoffs but you have to understand the way the layoffs work just FYI if people are listening out there if your company lays you off and they give you six months severance and they keep you on the payroll as long as you're on that payroll even though you've been fired or released from your company your calendar is working because you're uh getting a paycheck base yeah yeah but there's been a 1.3 million decline number of decline in the full-time employment over a year to year from and again it's 1% because it's 134 million base but still that's 1% that's not it's it's it's not a rosy picture when you're when you're having fewer people work in full-time thank you john I appreciate you checking in have a good weekend you too how watch out for that food apocalypse that the woman from Vermont who was quoted in the journal was saying Len you're next with how we car go ahead Len hey howie i love your show i'll be brief i just got back on the supermarket i'm 82 years old i'm a registered nurse at his work most of my life in fact i'm still working two shifts a week with a private duty patient i just got my week's groceries but 32 dollars in the way i did it with dale bread going to the half price counter uh just watching every penny so i can pay my escalating property taxes gasoline to get to work and try to help my son and my daughter-in-law he's a long-term proctor he drives to do jersey every five nights a week and they they cannot buy property they can barely make ends meet so i appreciate how what you say i listen to most days i love your show and what i don't get and maybe you can explain to me is why the progressives hate this country so much i i wish i could Len i i ask it's a recurring question i i don't understand that i you know maybe maybe they don't like the way things are but do they think what they're doing is going to make anything better that's that's the key isn't it it's just going to make things worse i mean they're going to turn this place into Haiti or or Venezuela is is that what they want why why do they think people are uh fleeing to come up here for a free ride how can they be so unpatriotic and ungrateful for what this country has done for them and i just don't get it and thank you for listening howie thank you and you're dealing with the food apocalypse like the 74-year-old woman from on it like everybody else in the united states it's and it's this is uh we just got to try to get out of it uh you know we're about 210 or so days away from the election we got to get that we got to get this thing turned around the guy earlier will say and uh you know don't you know our vote doesn't count Massachusetts you can't think that way you can't think that way you know Reagan carried Massachusetts uh twice actually i think he carried i think he carried it twice so uh things things can turn around but uh it requires everybody to work hard and get out and vote thanks for the phone and i get like breaking news so but breaking news was the job before about the three hundred thousand what it was so so what i don't even know who my provider is so you can't ask me i don't know but it's one of the big ones i can but anyways about an hour later i turned the tv on and it's all about the earthquake and i looked back at my phone over the next four or five hours that was they still had the story on about the three hundred jobs i mean unbelievable you know that they didn't go to the to the to the breaking news you know uh yeah you know if it if it bleeds it leads as they always say and no one no one got heard in this earthquake but at least they could you know they could interview man in the street and just send out a camera you know right outside the the newsroom so i i guess i guess i can kind of understand but you know that those those job numbers they're always fake but they seem to be getting more and more fake as uh as time goes on jim thanks thanks for the call jesse you're next with how we car go ahead jesse yes uh howie how are you doing good yes i live up here in main too uh it's a good place to live isn't it yes it is well yeah i grew up in southern california and i'm going to make it short you know i grew up my my dad was in military and he's from vermont and we were kind of stuck out there for probably for 15 years but anyways you know it's funny about what they talk about racism that was never an issue until somebody brings it up you know everybody just sort of learns to get along you got to move on and just get with it and then right one day he just said we're getting out of there we moved up here probably 1970 and you we all worked in the great north of the paper and boy he bought a bunch of farmland and i told my son even back then i never seen my he was a sergeant the marines okay i never seen my dad cry but when kiddity got shot he cried and when reagan was president i i started to understand and politics then i started paying attention when reagan was in there we made good money and he bought the swan and then i started realizing like my dad said you know something's not right so even in the 70s he said don't don't feel right and so we all talked about when chariot came in and bought all these paper machines everybody oh it's a no no it's not a it's the beginning of the end well nobody wanted to hear it they all happened just all you shut up second school shut up we don't want to hear it well my dad was right so yeah i know you got you're lucky you got land anybody anybody who's got land is is fortunate that's why that's why the foreigners are buying up all of the land because they they know things are are falling apart in their own countries they're coming over here and they're making things fall
