(upbeat music) - AP News, I'm Farron Kwani. President Biden has gotten to first him look at efforts to clear the Francis Scott Key Bridge's remains and pledge the nation will stand with Baltimore. The president saw what was described as the bridge's mangled mess in one of the nation's busiest shipping lanes, the result of a cargo vessel ramming the bridge, killing six construction workers. An anonymous source revealed that President Biden has urged Egypt and Qatar's leaders to press Hamas for a hostage deal with Israel after pushing Netanyahu for a ceasefire. National security spokesman John Kirby spoke about the ceasefire earlier today. - Let's get this done. Let's get a deal in place so that we can get a ceasefire for a matter of weeks in place. - In an AP interview, US Geological Survey researcher William Yek says the East Coast does not often see earthquakes. - I wouldn't say it's unexpected, but they occur very rarely. It's not something that happens very often. On the West Coast, people are used to feeling earthquakes all the time because they're close to a tectonic plate boundary. In regions like this, the earthquakes still can occur and it's not a complete surprise, but they're just very infrequent. So people just aren't used to feeling earthquakes in those regions. - The earthquake today was a 4.7 magnitude quake and affected possibly over 40 million people in the Northeast. This is AP News. - The anniversary of the Rwandan genocide gives survivors a chance to reflect and heal. - As Rwanda prepares to commemorate 30 years after the genocide that killed an approximate 800,000 people, mainly ethnic tutsis.
