V Česku raketově stoupá počet obézních dětí, bijí na poplach lékaři. Zdůrazňují dále, že starost o tělesnou hmotnost a zdraví nemohou rodiče nechat jen na samotných dětech. Velkou změnu musí obvykle provést celá rodina, jen tak zabrání vážnějším průšvihům. Jak na to, čím je nejlepší začít a proč se vyplatí dopřát dětem hodnotnější dárek a odměnu než další tabulku čokolády nebo kopec zmrzliny?
Podle posledních dat z roku 2021 ze studie praktických lékařů pro děti a dorost žije v Česku přes 16 % dětí s obezitou, nadváhou pak trpí bezmála 10 % dětí. „Vždyť on z toho vyroste.“ Tuto frázi jste již nejspíš někdy slyšeli. Jde o častý omyl rodičů či prarodičů, kteří se jím uklidňují při pohledu na baculaté batole nebo předškoláka s počínajícími tukovými pneumatikami kolem pupíku. A mnohdy mu podají další kousek čokolády nebo naloží porci knedlíků navíc. Netušíce, jak moc mu tím zakládají na problémy.
