AP News, I'm Ed Donahue. The state Supreme Court in Arizona is giving the go ahead to enforce an abortion law that went into effect before Arizona was even a state more from the AP's Haya Punjwani. The 1864 law in Arizona criminalizes all abortions except when a mother's life is at stake. That also means there are no exceptions for rape or incest. An older court decision blocked enforcing the law shortly after the U.S. Supreme Court issued the 1973 Roe vs. Wade decision guaranteeing a constitutional right to an abortion. Currently, 14 states are enforcing bans on abortion at all stages of pregnancy with limited exceptions. Two states ban the procedure once cardiac activity can be detected, which is about six weeks into pregnancy and often before women realize they're pregnant. The justices said the state can start enforcing the law in 14 days. I'm Haya Punjwani. In Pontiac, Michigan, Jennifer and James Crumley were each sentenced to 10 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter, failing to take steps that could have prevented their teenage son from killing four students at his high school in 2021. Nicole Boselei spoke in court. Her daughter was one of the four students killed. "We shall know more and more, so no respect or compassion for our family. The same traits that you bestowed upon your son. The traits that have torn my family into pieces. The lack of compassion that you've shown is outright disgusting. Not only did your son kill my daughter, but you both did as well." A New York appeals court judge rejected Donald Trump's latest attempt to delay his hush money criminal trial, taking just 12 minutes to swat away an argument that it should be postponed while the former president fights a gag order. Jury selection is set to start next week. Video footage was released today. Langclothes Chicago police officers fired nearly 100 gunshots over 41 seconds during a traffic stop that left one man dead and one officer injured. This is AP News. There are some new four-legged workers at a major airport. The AP's Charles Della Desma has the story. "Meet Istanbul Airport's therapy dogs always ready to offer support with snuggles, ready rubs and sloppy kisses," the Associated Press caught up with Cookie and El Dita, two of the dogs taking part in the pet-friendly airport's new pilot project. Kadiya Demurtas, customer experience manager at the airport, says travelling can be stressful, and according to research, interaction between animals and humans could reduce stress and anxiety. "They are safe and they are 100% adapted to all environments." The therapy dogs project gets the thumbs up from Quimby Zhang, a passenger from China. "After your long flight, you need something like can keep you calm down and something that's like the dog is wonderful." I'm Charles Della Desma. And I'm Ed Donahue, AP News.
