This is AP News, I'm Rita Falle. More than 200 chemical plants will have to reduce toxic emissions that are likely to cause cancer. That new rural just issued by the EPA. It says the plants are spread across Texas and Louisiana, the Ohio River Valley, West Virginia and the Upper South. Norfolk's Southerners agreed to pay $600 million in a settlement related to last year's trained derailment in Eastern Ohio. Prosecutors are asking the Supreme Court to reject former President Trump's claim that he is immune from prosecution in a case charging him with trying to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. Trump has argued that former presidents enjoy immunity for official acts while in office. But both the judge presiding over the case and a three-judge federal appellate panel in Washington have forcefully rejected that claim. In their latest brief, Special Counsel Jack Smith's team rehashed many of the arguments that have prevailed in lower courts, noting that federal criminal law applies to the president. Prosecutors also said that even if the Supreme Court were to recognize some immunity for the president's official acts, the case should still be permitted to move forward because much of the indictment is centered on Trump's private conduct. I'm Lisa Dwyer, Egypt says a new cease-fire proposal has been presented to Hamas and Israel. It would include a six-week pause in fighting in a prisoner's swap. Meanwhile, says the AP's Charles D'Aledesma, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has escalated his pledge to invade Rafa in a video statement on Monday. He declared it will happen as a date without elaborating. The driver of a semi rammed a police vehicle in St. Joseph Township, Michigan, then crashed into a home, say authorities. The driver tried to run, but got into some sort of altercation with a police officer who shot him, they say. The driver later died. This is AP News. A big money laundering trial is underway in Panama. The trial of 27 people charged in connection with the worldwide Panama Papers' money laundering scandal is underway in a Panamanian criminal court. Those in trial include the owners of the Masak Fonseca law verm that was at the heart of the 2016 Massive Document League. The Panama Papers included a collection of 11 million secret financial documents that illustrate how some of the world's richest people, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, hide their money. One accused lawyer, Jurgen Mosak, was President of the United States. Mosak saying he is not guilty of such acts. U.S. authorities say the firm also helped conceal taxes owed to the IRS. I-Norman Hall. They've been celebrating following Yukon's second consecutive men's basketball championship. Some windows were broken, street signs taken down, but mostly peaceful, they say.
