You Will Surely Succeed
[Music] Good morning, I want to read 72 for the first seven, chapter 26, verse 25. And Saul said to David, "Blessings on you, my son David, you will do many heroic deeds, and you will surely succeed." Then David went away and saw return home. This is what I want to talk about this morning. You will surely succeed. I know you are going to enjoy this word this morning. Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders. Let me walk upon the waters, wherever you would call me. And take me deeper than my feet could ever wonder. And my faith would be made stronger in the presence of a Savior. And Spirit lead me where my trust. Father God, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ on this morning, made past Amy, we join our faith with your wonderful people. And we pray for every last one of them that they would be successful God. The word of God declares in Joshua chapter 1, verse 8, "This book of the law shall not depart from out of your mouth, but you shall meditate therein day and night that you may observe to do according to all that's written therein. For then you will make your way prosperous and have good success." We pray for your people this morning. That day would be a successful people. Whatever they put their hands to do that is in line with your will, cost them to succeed beyond measure in their marriages, in their relationship with their children, on their jobs, in their education, in their business dealings God, in their ministries. We pray for success in every aspect of their lives. In the name of Jesus Christ, someone say amen. Blessed be the name of Jesus. As we continue our series, "Overcoming Adversity," on this morning, this is what we are talking about, you will surely succeed. Praise God. You will surely succeed. So we pick up where David is talking to Abner and confronting him from a distance. Abner, that's Saul's, one of Saul's general, and Saul himself is there. But David is making the point because remember, David does snuck in and God costs a deep sleep to fall on everyone. David, they took his spare and his water jug. Listen to what David said, "Why are you chasing me? What have I done? What is my crime? I'm innocent. I'm not trying to kill you, Saul. But now let my Lord the King listen to his servant. If the Lord has stirred you up against me, then let him accept my offering. But if this is simply a human scheme, then may those involved be cursed by the Lord. For they have driven me from my home, so I can no longer live among the Lord's people. And they have said, "Go worship pagan gods." Must I die on foreign soil far from the presence of the Lord? Why has the King of Israel come out to search for a single flea? Why does he hunt me down like a portrait on the mountains? David is confronting him. David said, "Look, I'm nothing in comparison to you. You are the King. I'm running to and fro like a vagaborn. I'm innocent, Saul. I don't want to bring harm to you. I just meant good. You're my father-in-law. I love you. I care about you. What's going on? I'm innocent. I am absolutely innocent. I had opportunities after opportunities to kill you and to destroy you and to wipe you out and annihilate you and eliminate you. But I refuse. My men even wanted to do it. They wanted to kill you for me. But I said, "No, I'm not going to let you do that. God forbid that you put your hands against the laws and on it. I'm innocent, Saul. I'm innocent." And wow, David's words overpowered Saul, and Saul came under conviction. And look at what he said, "Then Saul confessed, I have sinned. Come back home, my son, and I will no longer try to harm you. For you valued my life today. I have been a fool and very, very wrong." It was too late. David wasn't going back. Uh-uh. That season's over. Saul had blew it too many times. David couldn't trust him. Saul was driven by evil spirits. Come back. No, Jesus. Come back to where? For more supposed to be flying at my head. Saul, look at David as a dartboard for target practice. He wanted to kill him. And you invite him. That season's over. Remember Jonathan told David. He said, "Look, this means that the Lord is sending you away. The Lord is sending you away. That season's over." And he's coming back to the palace to be, which no, sir, no, Jesus, that season's over. I'd dare someone say, "No, sir. That season where I was your dog, that season's over." I ain't going, uh-uh. Can someone say, "Uh-uh, no, Jesus. Go back, no, sir. Nope, I'm on my own. God didn't give me my own army. I'm going to just stay out here and hang with God." So, but Saul is repentant, but he couldn't be trusted because he would say he's sorry and then he would go and try to kill David again. So, you can't trust somebody like that. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways. You can't trust him. Watch this. David said, "Here is your spare." "Okay," David replied, "Let one of your young men come over and get it. The Lord gives his own reward for doing good and for being loyal. And I refuse to kill you even when the Lord plays you in my power, for you are the Lord's anointed one. Now, may the Lord value my life. Even as I have valued yours today, may he rescue me from all my troubles. Don't read a God, this is some serious integrity. Thank you, Holy Spirit. Listen to verse 25, "And Saul said to David, 'Blessings on you, my son, David, you will do many heroic deeds, and you will surely succeed.'" Wow. When David went away and saw return home, the chase was over. The chase was over. Saul never chased David again after this. Even your enemies are saying it, "You will surely succeed." You will surely succeed. Wow. These words are coming from David's "Ouch enemy, King Saul." He realized, "I can't do nothing but David, God's got him." And he confessed, "You will surely succeed." I'm here to tell somebody this morning, "You will surely succeed." Oh. Thank you, Holy Ghost. You will surely succeed. God is on your side. Father, me and Pastor, we cover your people this morning in the blood of the Lord Jesus. We thank you for making them a success. We thank you for bringing them out of adversity and helping them to overcome all of the adverse situations. Thank you for turning the tables in their favor. In the name of Jesus Christ, I'm going to say amen. Listen, we want to throw the dogs wide open to give you, if you haven't, give you an opportunity to partner with us in this ministry.
