Mike Moore Media, the first place to hear Rocky Camp County news and information. Starting today with big news at Berry Hill, micro porous LLC is investing $1.35 billion to establish a lithium ion battery manufacturing plant, creating more than 2,000 jobs. The city of Eden is the primary source of water and sewer to the southern Virginia mega site and interstate partnership with the city of Danville. Eden has provided $9 million in infrastructure funds, primarily from grants for up to 5 million gallons of water daily and 3 million gallons of sewer capacity daily as part of a regional economic development agreement. The new facility will occupy around 200 acres, leaving more than 3,000 acres for additional development. Eden should begin in 2026, it's being seen as a catalyst for others to locate here. Micro porous, initially known as American Rubber Company, based in Piney, Flats, Tennessee, has been in business almost 85 years. The company makes high performance battery separators for customers globally. Here's the latest on Trooper Wright, who was seriously injured in a UTV accident Monday. He's the son of retired State Trooper Darren Wright and Karen Wright of Eden. Trooper 17 was airlifted to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, and with complex damage to his left arm, doctors amputated to the elbow. I spoke with his dad last night, Trooper had a second and final surgery yesterday. Pain is under control, he's making incredible progress and may come home earlier than expected. Trooper is captain of the Moorhead High School Panther's football team and leader of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He has a strong faith, which is evident in everything he does, according to family, friends, school staff, and members of his church, Osborn Baptist. He's been involved in mission work in Maryland and Ohio, including Bible study with at-risk kids. Pastor Steve Griffith says the teenager has a heart for Jesus. The first thing he said after surgery was, "God has a plan." Darren wants me to thank everyone for their prayers, first responders, police, fire, EMS, Sheriff's Office, aircare, and the Rockingham County community. Response has come from so many, including former and current highway-controlled friends. In fact, Wednesday, he's got a message from Costa Rica. We'll be talking again, and I'll have additional updates. Long-time Eden business owner Peggy Goode, 77, died Tuesday at UNC Rockingham Health Care. She and her husband Jim operated a stitch-in-time monogramming for many years. He died five years ago. Goode was scheduled to be Grand Marshal of the Old Leaksville Christmas Parade the day after Thanksgiving, an event she started. Survivors include children Jason Moore and Greg Singleton of Greensboro, Mark Kates of Eden, Alison Morgan and Jeff of Kerry and Anthony Goode and Donna. Boone and Cook Funeral Home is serving the family. There will be no services. Spirit Airlines has filed for bankruptcy. It's $3 billion in debt. The company has been operating at a loss since before the pandemic. The pastor of Friendly Avenue Baptist Church in Greensboro, Matthew Queen, has resigned, following a guilty plea in federal court. He allegedly falsified records and an FBI investigation into cover-ups of sexual abuse cases within the Southern Baptist Convention. Queen will be sentenced early next year. In our music spotlight, we remember C.W. McCall, born November 15th. Let me see. I'm trying to make sure I have his music here. Okay. I got it right here. Okay. C.W. McCall, born November 15th, 1928. He died a couple of years ago from cancer. C.W. McCall had this surprise number one hit in 1975. I got a breaker 1-9. This here's a rubber duck. You've got a copy on me, big Ben. Come on. Boy, you got 10-4 big Ben for sure. For sure. By golly, it's clean, glitter to black down. Come on. He has a big 10-4 there, big Ben. Yeah, we definitely got the front door. Good buddy, we're 66 alive. Looks like we've got us a convoy. Was a dark of a moon on the 6th of June and a Kenworth pulling logs. Cap over Pete with a reefer on and a Jimmy hauling hogs. We is heading for Bear on I-1-0 about a mile out of Shaky Town. I says, "Pig Ben, this here's a rubber duck and I'm about to put the hammer down." Because we got a little convoy, rocking through the night. Yeah, we got a little convoy and she feels safe. Come on and join our convoy, ain't that's going to get nothing. We don't roll this truck and convoy, past USA, convoy. You got a breaker, big Ben, this here's a duck. Now you want to back off them hogs. Good 10-4, about 5 miles or so, 10 roger them hogs. It's getting intense up here. By the time we got into Tilts of Town, we had 85 trucks and all, but there's a road block up on the clover leaf and them bears was walled wall. He had them smokies as thick as bugs on the bumper. They even had a bear in the air. I says, "Colin old trucks, this here's the duck." We about to go a hunting bear. Because we got a great big convoy, rocking through the night. Yeah, we got a great big convoy and she beautiful sight. Come on and join our convoy, ain't that we're going to get in our way. We can't roll this truck and convoy, past USA, convoy. Hey, you want to give me a 10-9 on that big Ben? We tore up all of our swindle sheets and left them sitting on scales. By the time we hit that shy town, them bears was getting smart. They brought up some reinforcements. From the Illinois National Guard, there's armored cars, tanks, jeeps, and rigs of every size. They had them chicken coops with full of bears and choppers filled the skies. Well, we shot the line we went for broke with 1,000 screaming trucks and 11 long-haired friends of Jesus and Ashar Trims Microbus. Yeah, a rubber duck just saw a bus here. Come on, we got 10-4 shots left and you want to put that microbus in behind that suicide jockey. Yeah, you honed 9 in mind that you need the whole healthy kid in here. Well, they laid a strip for the Jersey Shore and prepared to cross a line. I could see the bridge was lined with bears, but it didn't have a dog gone died. I says, "Pig panel, this here's a rubber duck. We just ain't going to pay no toll." So we crashed a game doing 98 as us left them truckers rolled 10-4. All right, 10-4. 10-4, good buddy. Wow, haven't heard that song in a long time. She and I'm probably someone who's saying, "jeez, I hope it's a long time before I hear it again." But that was a big hit back in the mid-70s for sure. Now today's motivational moment, thanks to Livingstone Wealth Management, Raymond James in Madison. How often could things be remedied by a word? How often is it left unspoken? Always good to have you listening. Thank you for that. Have a wonderful Thursday. Be sure to count your blessings. [BLANK_AUDIO]
