AP News, I'm Ed Donahue. Former President Donald Trump's Arizona went too far in imposing a long dormant 1864 law that bans most abortions. He opposes a national abortion ban and wants decisions made on a state-by-state basis. "Flard is probably going to change. Arizona is going to definitely change. Everybody wants that to happen. And you're getting the will of the people. It's been pretty amazing." At the White House, President Biden was asked what his message is to people in Arizona. "Elect me. I'm in the 20th century, 21st century. Not back then. It weren't even a state." As he fights to keep his job, the House's top Republican is set to meet this week with Donald Trump. The AP's Sagar McGani has the story. A Trump campaign official says the ex-President and House Speaker Mike Johnson will have a news conference on election integrity at Mar-a-Lago Friday. The meeting comes with Johnson, trying to keep the Speaker's gavel amid a threat from hardliner Marjorie Taylor Greene, a top Trump ally. "I always considered her a friend." Johnson says they don't disagree on philosophies. "We do disagree sometimes on strategy." Greene's furious Johnson has worked with Democrats to pass legislation, which, given the slim GOP majority, is about the only way he can pass anything. Greene's threatened to hold a snap vote on Alston Johnson, who was once critical of Trump, but has tried to keep a close relationship with him since predecessor Kevin McCarthy lost the Speaker's post. Sagar McGani, Washington. "Israel says three sons and three grandchildren of Hamas leader Ismael Hania were killed in an Israeli airstrike. Some Federal Reserve policy makers argued at their meeting last month, inflation was likely worsening. And today, the government reported price increases re-accelerated last month. Stocks are deep in negative territory at the closing bell. This is AP News. Track & Field is the first sport offering prize money at the Olympics. "World Athletics said it would pay gold medalist $50,000 in Paris. It set aside $2.4 million to pay first place winners across the 48 men's women's in mixed events. Relay teams will split the prize money, and payments for silver and bronze medalist will begin from the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. There's no sign yet of any other Olympic sport following track's lead. World Athletics is an outlier financially since it gets almost all of its funding from its own events, like the World Championships. I'm Haya Punjwani. The Green Bay Packers will play the Philadelphia Eagles when the NFL holds its first regular season game in Brazil, September 6th. The matchup in Sao Paulo will mark the first time since 1970. The NFL has played a Friday night game on the season's opening weekend. The Eagles would be the home team for the game. I'm Ed Donahue, AP News.
