AP News, Good morning. I'm Ed Donny. The Labor Department says it's producer price index, which measures inflationary pressure before it reaches consumers rose at the fastest pace in nearly a year. But the increase was less than experts were predicting. Wholesale inflation eased on a month-to-month basis. The report is a bit of a relief after a report yesterday that shows inflation was surprisingly hot last month. A discussion in the Arizona House on abortion was shut down by Republicans. The AP's Haya Punjwani has the story. "Shame on you!" Soon after the Arizona Supreme Court upheld a 19th century law criminalizing abortion throughout pregnancy unless a woman's life is at risk, some state representatives attempted discussion on the matter. But we're quickly shut down. The audios courtesy of Arizona state representative Annalise Ortiz. State Representative Stephanie Stahl, a Democrat, says the world is watching Arizona. "Should the 1864 ban on abortion remain the law in Arizona, people will die." Republican state representative Theresa Martinez says the law, which doesn't make exceptions for rape or incest, can be upheld by the state. The Supreme Court returned the authority to regulate abortion to the states, where it rightfully belongs. Lawmakers are recessed until April 17th. I'm Haya Punjwani. I'm Damian Treisi and this is Markets in a Minute. Stocks held steady in early trading on Wall Street Thursday. The S&P 500 rose 0.2%. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 56 points and the Nasdaq rose 0.4%. Treasury yields eased to relieve some of the pressure on stocks. A government report on inflation at the wholesale level was slightly cooler than economists expected. It follows a hotter than expected report on consumer prices Wednesday that heavily weighed on markets. Sovereignty hot inflation has tempered expectations for the Federal Reserve to cut interest rates this year. The European Central Bank left its key interest rate benchmark unchanged. Damian Treisi, New York. In an attempt to protect young people and combat sexual extortion, Instagram says it's adding new tools that include a feature to automatically blur nudity and direct messages.
