AP News, I'm Ed Donoghue, Fed Chair Jerome Powell says higher inflation will likely mean a delay in interest rate cuts until the end of the year. We've said at the FOMC that we'll need greater confidence that inflation is moving sustainably toward 2 percent before it be appropriate to ease policy. We took that cautious approach and sought that greater confidence so as not to overreact to the string of low inflation readings that we had in the second half of last year. But since the start of this year, inflation has been ticking up. More potential jurors have been sent home today in New York, and former President Donald Trump's Hush Money trial. No one was chosen yesterday on the first day of jury selection. No one has been chosen yet today. The people dismissed today either said they could not be impartial or they had other commitments. Former federal prosecutor David Weinstein says Judge Juan Mershon has to stay impartial after all the things that Donald Trump has said about him. The defendant is trying to egg on the judge and get him to say something that would show some sort of a bias which would require him to recuse himself. So he needs to be even tempered and the judge understands that he is going to be the focal point here and he's probably used to it so he will keep himself above the fray. Trump is accused of falsifying business records as part of an alleged effort to keep salacious and he says bogus stories about his sex life from emerging during the 2016 campaign. The Supreme Court questioned whether federal prosecutors went too far and bringing obstruction charges against hundreds of people arrested for their roles in the Capitol riot. The AP's Mark Sherman reports, "Some justices seem to be favorable to not charging them with obstruction of an official proceeding." "Another possibility is that the court could take a more measured approach and require lower courts to evaluate on a case-by-case basis." Republicans in the House have sent the impeachment case of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to the Senate, forcing a trial. This is AP News. The Prime Minister says a French construction worker who confronted a man who stabbed six people to death in an Australian shopping mall is welcome to stay in the country for as long as he likes. It follows a knife attack at a church in Sydney. Here's the AP's Charles de la Desma. The incident of the saw a bishop and a priest wounded during a church service was an act of terrorism. The police arrested a 16-year-old boy on Tuesday after the stabbing at Christ the Good Shepherd Church. That injured Bishop Marmarie Emmanuel and a priest. Fairfield Mayor Frank Cabonek, talking to AUBC Network, described the incident as "a terrorist attack on our way of life." "A terrorist attack on faith or the terrorist attack in Australia." Local resident Ramshin Shimon expressed his devastation over what had happened. "People aren't really heartache since the stuff that happened in Bondi. People still feeling really sad and upset." I'm Charles de la Desma. And I'm Ed Donahue. AP News. Rapid expansion. We're ready. Economic crisis. We're good. Worker shortage. Good. AI. Got it. What if a celebrity buys the company?
