Washington Post.com/bf24. Big win for the Broncos. Denver throttling the Atlanta Falcons 38-6 at Empower Field at Mile High yesterday. Bonix going for 28, 33, 307 yards passing. Four touchdowns. Broncos de-holding Atlanta to 54 yards rushing. From a team that was averaging 140 on the ground, impressive defensive performance. Joining us now on the studio, of course, Broncos color analyst toast of 1-3-5 of the Foxes. The Rick Lewis Show. That would be Rick Lewis. Hi, my friend. Hey, good morning. And you were there. I was there. Yeah. You got a chance to watch it in person. And here you guys. That was great because I was in the KOA box. Is that what they do? You guys do it? Yeah. They put the ruckus in. Yeah. You heard the whole broadcast. I heard the whole broadcast. So I'm sure you were impressed. Oh, man. I am so impressed. My son was saying, "Dad, that's coach." I said, "Yes." Of course. Yeah. That's right. Always has to remind him of that. Then he says, "Who's this Rick guy?" You heard by saying this. I was listening to the post-game and you guys doing the text line comments and it is... Now, first off, I love Broncos fans are hilarious, but it's always like scratching for more in the one texture, saying, "What would it be like if we won Kansas City and Dave without missing a beat? Well, they'd be 7 and 4 and you're like, "You're so good at math." So it was fun to listen to. But it was a great... Talk about a great rebound after a tough loss and how they came out and just took it right to the Falcons. Yeah. They won in all three phases of the game. A total domination, really. And guys, the Falcons have one of the best offenses in the league and they are loaded with talent on that side of the ball. Kirk Cousins, one of the best quarterbacks in the league. They held them to six points, two field goals. Broncos defense was dominant in that game and then Bo Nix had the best game of his career. Four touchdown passes. There were so many milestones in that game and you heard him if you were listening, Marty. We didn't have time to get in all the milestones that Bo Nix hit in that game for a Broncos rookie quarterback. Just phenomenal day yesterday. Yeah. One of them I heard he tied the Broncos single game rookie record didn't, didn't top it, right? He was tying it in the, in the third, but I wasn't sure if we had any updates from there. There was a, he, he, he second on the list to Marlon Brisco now, I believe for touchdown passes. But there were so many. I, I, I can't remember. My head was spinning. They just kept handing me these milestones that Bo Nix was passing throughout the game. And man, that kid is really come of age. And as we talked about in the game, or at least in the post game yesterday, he's not only in the conversation for rookie of the year, he may be rookie of the year. Jayden Daniels got off to a great start with the Washington commanders and he's starting to fade a little bit here the last couple of weeks as Bo Nix is surging. We could be looking at the rookie of the year this year. You know, and Patrick Tan at the end of the game, in the post game, he said, Hey, forget about rookie of the year. This guy could be MVP. Yeah. I don't see that happening unless he's going to have four touchdowns and no picks as we get the rest of the way. Yeah. But certainly in the rookie of the year conversation, was that a perfect QB rating? What is it? Like 156 or whatever? It wasn't quite that. But it was close. Yeah. He just looked sharp. But when we talk about this all the time, you and I, we talk about it with Dave, Coach Peyton, the best friend of any quarterback has a great running game. And that Bronco's running game, man, getting chunk plays, physical. I love the, you know, you call it the tush push, then push in. Was it Javonti into the end zone? I love just that full team effort with the running game. Yeah. And Javonti Williams, I hate to say it, I've written them off twice this year. And every time I do, he has a bounce back game. I thought it was going to be, Audrey, yesterday, and Javonti started the game and Javonti had a really good game. So he looks like he's back again. So I'm done writing off Javonti Williams or maybe I should keep writing them off and then I'll have a great game. But yeah, no, he made a difference yesterday for sure. Rick, like you said, last week, the Falcons were dealing with a host of injuries. They're dealing with even more injuries following what we saw. Looking at the season right now, how are we doing Broncos wise? Because Dave always talks about injuries are inevitable at this point. How is our team looking? Broncos are relatively healthy. Josh Reynolds will get him back. I'm hoping this week against the Raiders. He's the only guy I can really think of, only really key player that is not back. And he will certainly add something to that wide receiver room veteran wide receiver will help out. Courtland Sutton's really stepped up to bond. Vele is really stepped up. Troy Franklin. Now they're getting plays out of Marvin Mims to let's say young hungry football team and the young guys are making plays. The defense, you know, again, holding a great Falcons team that could run the ball pretty successfully to 54 yards is a testament to about how great the defense has been playing all year. Yeah. You know what, guys? Bijon Robinson is a beast of a running back, not only running the ball, but catching the ball out of the back field. The Falcons have some really, really elite skill players. They really do Kyle pitch the tight end to star wide receivers, Kurt Cousins, top five quarterback in the league. And that was just a beat down yesterday by that Broncos defense. This defense is really, really good. And we've said this all year. They're going to keep the Broncos in this all the way to the end because they're going to keep you in just about every game. They got blown out by the Ravens, but just about every game, they're going to keep you in it. I think they're going to keep this team in the playoff hunt all the way to the end. Okay. So real quick going off of that. What can we expect for the Raiders on Sunday? Raiders are really struggling right now, more than just about any team in the league. This should be a game that the Broncos should win. I hate to, you know, I hate to go so far as to say the Broncos will win the game because when you go on the road, anything can happen in the Raiders. Broncos are a big long time rivalry, but this Broncos really should win this football game. They're the better team. And if they come out and play their game, they will win the game going to ask you the poll question right now as it sits and they, of course, they are in the NBA to play, but from the eyeball test, the Broncos, a playoff team, do you, they certainly look like a playoff team. And if the season ended today, they would be right. And I think they may even improve their seating as we go through the season here and right now they were seventh going into this weekend. They may end up moving up to, you know, six, five and when you may be hosting a playoff game, possibly, you know, you keep winning. They control their own destiny and it wouldn't it be cool if they ended up playing the Steelers and Russell Wilson. Yeah. Both season. Yeah. That could happen. That could happen. By the way, your hair is on point today. Did we have hair pressure on Marty or something? I think so. All right. Yeah. I think so. So he's like, oh, Rick's in studio today. They got a little facial hair. You are looking good. I saw your tag team partner yesterday. She was in the box. Kathy Lee. And she said, have you lost weight? You look really good. And I said, was I fat or something before? And so when she said that, maybe it's the hair. Kathy's the queen of backhand compliments. I just saw this. He said, no, they made me laugh. I was like, no, I haven't changed weight. I'm just a scraggly beard in the hair. Well, thank you. Well, thank you. I love you, man. Both of you too. Call our analyst host of the Rick Lewis Show on 1035 the box. It's Rick Lewis. Thanks, Rick.
