I'm your host, as always Tommy Brzee. It is Friday, November 22nd, around here, and we have great show for you today. We're going to start talking a little bit about some of the most important players as we head into the home stretch of the CFP race, also into the CFP just a little bit. We'll talk about those in the first segment. Then we got to get to coaches under the most pressure. There are quite a few, and we just added one to the list last night, and if you know who I'm talking about, you know why I'm talking about them, then we'll get into a little talk around all the games we just hadn't had a chance to cover, including a game last night in Atlanta, Georgia. That was absolutely insane. Between Georgia Tech and NC State, we'll break that one down. Then we'll get to my best bet to the upcoming weekend, when a little bit below 500 this past week, but hoping to bounce back, we can get back above 500 this week. Then we'll do a little bit of a wrap up, and we have huge recruiting news from all the quarterbacks, really seemingly all the quarterbacks in the country. We have a ton of different things to break down, and we will get to that at the very end. But before we jump in, I do want to remind you all, we get tons of questions and comments throughout the show, and the best way for you all to eat your question on the screen, we can have a fun back and forth here, is to use the super things, or super chat, excuse me. At the bottom of the chat on the sports network page, you can click that dollar sign, add any question, comment you like, it'll pop up on the screen, and we can have a fun back and forth here. Definitely want this to be as interactive as possible, so utilize that if you'd like to, and definitely can have a fun interaction here. But let's go and jump into this thing, and honestly, I did think about going over all the Indiana stuff, going over the strength, the schedule, all the arguments going around around the CFP. I decided to give everyone a little bit of a break. I know everyone's talking about that pretty much ad nauseam at this point. I figured we have a little bit more of a chill show today, uh, avoid some of the more hot button topics in our sport right about now. But let's get into this stuff, and let's start with the most important players in the CFP race. It feels like this year is one of those years, especially just in the 12 team playoff air in general. It feels like certain players can just change the entire season. It feels like whether it's a quarterback or a special wide receiver or a special running back. It feels like there's so many different players that can essentially put their teams on their back in a must-win game or in a playoff game or in a conference championship game, and the entire season, the entire sport could change in a lot of different ways. So let's go ahead and jump into this, and I really don't think there's anyone more powerful in this than Quinn Ears. And it's not to say that Texas is far and away the best team in the country if he can put it all together. It is just to say, when we saw him at his best against Michigan, against Florida even a couple of weeks ago, that looks like a team that is very well-oiled. Obviously the Michigan game, not quite as impressive as it once was. That Florida game didn't have DJ Lagway, some extenuating circumstances there. But all that being said, Texas does have one of the best defenses in the country. Obviously has not played that elite talent at quarterback or anything like that. But when you watch this team play, it's very, very clear. They have that pretty much every single box checked on the defensive side of the ball. The defensive line's playing incredibly well. They have a better pass rush than they used to have. They also have a back end that's right around one of the best in the country, maybe the best in the country. So a lot of things on that side of the ball are going perfectly. They have playmakers all over the field. They have one of the best play callers in the country. They have a very experienced offensive line. They need the quarterback to pick up the slack. And it's not to say Quinn Ears has played bad this year by any means. He's actually probably having one of the best quarterback seasons a Texas quarterback has had in quite some time, if I'm being totally honest. But all that to be said, he does need to kind of flip a switch. He does need to take that next little step forward. It's looked a little bit out of sync. His footwork is not necessarily his big attribute. So obviously that's something probably going to need a little bit better protection, probably going to need a little bit better run game. So he has more opening to kind of work with with that footwork. But overall, he just seems to get a little bit bogged down at certain points in the game. And he did look like a Heisman winner early in the year in Ann Arbor. It's not necessarily an elite defense that he was going up against too. But they were very good players on that side and a very good scheme in general. So it's one of those things where I still feel like this Texas offense has a thing. They have that next little step that they can take up to make them a more dangerous team. I don't know when they'll take that. I don't know if they'll take that this year. But I will say it's all in the trolls of number three. If he's going to make the plays, if he's going to step up to the plate and be the big time player they need him to be, this can be one of the teams that wins a national title. If he comes up a little bit short and plays the game that he didn't Arkansas the next two weeks, it was a very real reality where they're sitting on their couch in December. So it all comes down to number three. And frankly, I think a lot of different things could have him for Texas if he kind of puts it together. And then Will Howard is the other one that stands out to me and with the online issues, this becomes even more important because his legs are going to be huge. Whether it's whether or not it's, you know, scrambling out of a pocket that's kind of collapsing or just a couple of read options to keep the defense honest, whatever that looks like, it is going to have to be him with his legs more often now. Because Seth McLaughlin going down is absolutely huge. You have to give your new offensive line. And whether it's Carson Hinsman, actually, we do have an update on that. We'll get to a little bit later in the show. But a lot of different things going on in that offensive line room, you very much have to step up to the plate, not only as a playmaker, but as a communicator because the reality is in a lot of different systems around the country. And I assume at Ohio State, but could be a little bit different depending on the down and depending on the circumstances. But a lot of the time you will have that center calling out different protections, different blitzes, different things, different fronts that the defense is giving you. All these things are hugely important. Likely those will fall on Will Howard's shoulders now. So you'll have to figure out kind of how all this works with Ohio State and Will Howard more than anyone on that team knows that now he has to step up in a big way. Whether it's on the field, off the field as a communicator, on the field as a communicator, he's going to be hugely important. He's going to be one of those guys that can totally take Ohio State to a national title or could be one of those things where we look back and say that Seth McLaughlin injury was the game changer in the season for Ohio State. Travis Honer, I mean, kid, this one kind of speaks for itself. No doubt about that. But when you talk about Colorado, when you move towards a big 12 title or a CFP game or anything like that, you get a little bit more nervous, right? You have that offensive line that has played really good football as of late. They haven't necessarily played a Georgia. They haven't necessarily played an organ or someone like that. Also, you know, the offenses starting to run the ball a little bit more aggressively. Again, you're probably going to face a little bit more start of a front coming down the road. That means your playmaker just have to make place. And more than anyone, this guy, because he's the guy that can change things on both sides of the ball. He's the guy that can get you a pick on one side and then flip right back around and get a 50 yard touchdown on the other. He can totally change a game for you. He can get the juice in your program. He can get the juice in your team. Everyone on that team is watching number 12 at most every moment of the game. He is the most important player on that team. Obviously, Shudor Sanders is absolutely incredible. One of the most incredible quarterbacks likely going to be the top quarterback off the board in the 2025 NFL draft. All that being said, I think when you look at a couple of these other teams around, you look at some of the big games they're going to have to play, sometimes it's just going to be about that one guy making that one play. And I do think Travis Hunter is the one where just throw it up to him and let him go get one or him on the defensive side. Just let him play man coverage and he's probably going to find one at some point. So it's one of these openings where Travis Hunter is the guy that Colorado can do a million incredible things and pretty much every game and they could still lose to one of these elite teams out there. They could still fall short with a great passing game and no run game. They could still fall short with a relatively good defense, but maybe not quite as dominant against an elite offense. All of that stuff, you can get close. You need that guy to get you over the hump and this is your guy. This is the guy that really one of the best guys in the country at getting you over the hump, but he's going to be huge in this playoff race going for the next two weeks and then possibly into the big 12 championship in the end of the playoff. He's going to be the guy of number 12 can make some plays for them. Then they can beat a team that no one thinks they can beat. Then we got Carson Beck. I mean this UGA team, when you see Carson Beck ripping around the ball, you see what this UGA team is capable of and you see why a lot of people going into the season were saying three out of four is not the craziest idea in the world and Tom Frenelli actually pointed out a very interesting point when I was listening to the cover three pot a couple of days ago. Basically just said his dips Carson Beck's dips coincide almost perfectly with Tate Radledge going down with an injury. He is now back. He is fully healthy and that has been a huge thing. You saw it against Tennessee. They did not get pressure. They did not get the thing that they usually get if you're Tennessee and Tate Radledge was a big reason for it. Oh, excuse me. Tate Radledge was a huge reason for that and I think when you can get Carson back time, when you can give him a second to sit back there and digest the defense and tear people apart, he's going to do a lot of special things. He is still a guy that I think can be an NFL draft first rounder. He is still a guy that I think can be one of the top three quarterbacks taken off the board. Everything is on the table for him and this team. He's got to finish strong and I do think he will do that at least in the regular season. Then it's time for the playoff and we'll see what happens there. But obviously a huge player and one of those guys that Georgia against all odds is still very much alive for the CFP and for the national title and that guy is going to be the reason they get it or don't get it. Then he got Jordan James. He's over there at Oregon and when I look at Oregon, there's so many things that they do incredibly well and really running the ball has become one of those things. But I think when you look at a CFP game, when you look at a big 10 championship, you're going to need what I like to call at least an anchor. A guy that you can get the ball to no matter what and you know he's going to give you three yards, you know he's going to give you whatever you need to get down the field, whatever you need to get that first down. So for Penn State, it's Tyler Warren. That's their anchor. That's the guy that they say we're just going to put you in wildcat for this one play. You're going to get these four yards for us. We're going to continue this drive. A number of other guys have it. You know I think in Meckig Buka in some ways is that for Ohio State, Trevion Henderson, another one, you have to have that guy where it's just we're going to find number 20. We're going to hand him the ball and he's going to keep this drive moving. And I do think that is going to become that guy. I think Jordan James is a remarkable player. A really good counter punch to that explosive offense is just having a guy that can get those three four yards when you really need him. And I do think he's one of those guys that kind of changes this offense from a really dangerous one that can beat you anytime to one that just might not be able to be stopped. If you can get that run game going, if you can get Jordan James going to an elite level, I don't know if Oregon's going to be able to be touched by pretty much any defense out there. Sam Levitt is a player that we are not talking about enough just in general because when you look at the big 12 right now, Jodor Sanders is setting the pace for quarterbacks and he's quite far ahead of a number of other of the big 12 quarterbacks out there. But Sam Levitt, I would argue, is playing the second best quarterback in the big 12 right now. He's playing incredible incredible football. And that's why Arizona State has a chance of the CFP. I mean, you look back at that game against Kansas State. Camp Skataboo was not Ken Skataboo. He only had 74 yards rushing 25 carries. He was not necessarily special in that game by anyway. But Sam Levitt and Jordan Tyson really picked up the slack. They were absolutely incredible. And he's kind of becoming one of those guys that if you can put together two more wins, get to the big 10 big 12 championship and possibly even beat Colorado, he's going to become a very popular name one way or the other. He's going to become the guy that everyone's talking about saying can Sam Levitt lead Arizona State to a possible CFP berth. It's going to be special to watch and this Arizona State team in general is going to be really special to watch this year and going forward. And then Curtis work. This guy might be white right up there with guys like Queen Ewers and Will Howard when we talk about power coming forward because he has a chance to totally change the entire college football race. It changed the entire college football world on Saturday. He can change the mind of a lot of SEC fans on Saturday as well. But the dude has the ability to do so many different things when he towards the end of the season because this Indian team contrary to popular belief, it seems, is a very, very good team. They obviously have not played that elite team on the other side. They have not necessarily you know been able to show themselves at least against an elite power. They will get the get that chance this weekend and Curtis work will be at center stage for that. And I think he's one of those guys that if he puts together really clean football, that defense continues to play the way that they have, let's say they lose to Ohio State but get into the field. I don't think you want to see this team and it's not necessarily to say they're going to out athlete you or do anything incredible. What I will say is they're going to be really hard to put away. There's not going to be a game that Indiana plays the rest of the season, at least in my mind, where it is a foregone conclusion from the first quarter forward that they are going to lose that game. I just don't think that's that what this team is created on. I don't think that's what Curtis work is about. And I do think he's going to be one of those players that we look up at the end of the day and Curtis work is maybe even leading Indiana to a CFP win. He's a very, very talented quarterback and one of those guys that is still waiting for everyone in America to really understand how good he is. This would be the weekend to do it and then just kind of build off it the rest of the way. And then we can't talk about individual players taking over college football without talking about Cam Ward. He's been absolutely incredible this year. For some reason he's kind of fallen off in the in the Heisman race. Just had a game where they lost but he played well and then had a buy but it seems like he's almost fully out of it at this point. But two wins and you're in the ACC title game and you're one way a win a one win away from being a three seed in the CFP. So one of those situations where you can change the narrative from why are they above all the two lost SEC teams to no one wants to play this team in the CFP with how Cam Ward is playing. He is a game-changing player and one of those guys that you get into the CFP just get yourself a seat at the table and then just hope that Cam Ward can take you all the way there. He absolutely has that ability. He absolutely can be the guy that we look up at the end of the year and we say Cam Ward just took over the CFP. He just absolutely was the player of the year. He absolutely just dominated people from start to finish and didn't really matter. How many points you were scoring on that other side? They were going to score plenty and beat you. So it's going to be awesome to watch all of these players unfold and all these players kind of rise or not rise to the occasion over the next little bit but it's going to be special to watch. And definitely a lot of those players. Queen Eurus, Cam Ward, Will Howard, at least in my mind the big three going to be huge down the stretch and absolutely could totally change this race. But let's take our first break here. When we come back let's get to some coaches. We'll talk about some coaches under pressure going into this week. Definitely a lot of them including Brian Kelly who was at this list last night and I think you know why but I'll break it down right after this. Breaking news and this one is almost unbelievable. Hey, give me that crown. I'm getting my way in to get put down. It ain't your place. Don't get my sound if I want that shit that'll get it right now. I'm losing it. The news that fits the news that shit is stupid. If you choose to live or choose to dip, you choose to fight or lose your grip and lose your gift. Don't! I feel like I'm losing my mind 'cause everybody in the world died. Please, Lord, give me a sigh. A sigh. I feel like I'm losing my mind 'cause everybody in the world died. All righty. Welcome back, everyone. We just talked about some of the big-time players in the CFP race as we move forward. I still think Quinn Eurus has that ability to flip that last switch, to take that last step, and this Texas team become as dangerous as anyone in the country. Obviously has not done that yet, but two more games to possibly flip that switch and then things get really interesting for the Texas Longhorns. But let's get into a little bit of a pressure watch because we got a lot of coaches that have a lot of pressure on them this week as we get closer and closer to that CFP. But we have one coach that has nothing to do with the CFP. That we got to talk about a little bit later in this because some bad things are happening down there in Baton Rouge right about now. But let's jump in and Kurt Zignetti takes the cake. I got to be totally honest. This is his moment. No doubt about that. You just signed the extension in your opening speech at Indiana. You said Purdue sucks and so does Michigan and Ohio State. Well, you got one of them. You did get Michigan a couple of weeks ago. Now it's time to get Ohio State and then Purdue at the very end of the day. I have a good feeling that they're probably going to get that one if I'm being totally honest. But Ohio State obviously the biggest domino of the bunch. And now you're staring down the game. You're about 24 hours away from this game, 27 hours or so. But it's going to be incredible to watch all of this and more than anything. There's so many stuff happening around this Indiana program. People are saying, you know, if you lose this game by 14 points, you should be out. If you lose this game by 10 points, you should be out. If you lose this game at all, you should be out of the CFP race. All of this stuff is flying around your program. Your guys are on Twitter. They fully understand that this is happening. All you have to do is make sure that they have their task on hand. They have their mind where it needs to be, which is where their feet are on that field on Saturday, playing one play at a time. That is all his job is. Obviously these guys are going to get up. You really do not need a big raw raw speech. You really do not need to know be like punching guys on the shoulder pads and getting them going like that. They're going to be playing in the horseshoe. They're going to be playing Ohio State. They're going to be a top five team in the country. There will be juice in that team. I have no doubts about that. Your job is to make sure that heart rate doesn't get too high. You want it high. You wanted them amped. You want them energized. You don't want them to get a little bit erratic, which can happen in big games like this where you feel like you might be a little bit outman. Do you feel like you might be a little bit out athlete did? Some guys can start to kind of force. You want to avoid that at all costs and Kurt Zignetti has been great about keeping these guys composure throughout this run. I don't think it'll be any different on Saturday, but obviously a huge moment for him and with that comes a ton of pressure. No doubt. And then you do have Ryan Day kind of sneakily under the radar throughout all the craziness that has been this week around this game. Ryan Day is in theory. Obviously a lot of other things would have to happen and some things would have to play around, but he could be coaching for his job this weekend. Let's say they lose Saturday and they miss the CFP. He is not getting the job back. Even if he goes and beats Michigan, I feel very confident that a 10, 2 team that misses out on the CFP is just not good enough for this year. So he and all of this craziness, all of this energy put towards Indiana and saying, if Indiana loses by this, this or that, also Indiana can win the football game. I think we've kind of forgotten that throughout this week. Indiana has the ability to win this football game. I just want everyone to understand that, but it is one of those moments where you got to keep your guys on on task because the reality is this is a team that you've beaten a lot. And there is a lot of people on your team that have just drug this team over the last couple of years. And it's going to be really easy to look over on that other sideline and say, they're Indiana and we're Ohio State. What are we doing out here? Why are we even talking about this game? We're going to go in there. We're going to tear them to pieces and we're going to move on. That's just one of those things. It pops up just about every time that one of these games pops up and we'll see if Ohio State can keep their wits about them and really fully respect the opponent on the other side. But add some of those injuries and some of the variants that it showed in the offensive game. It's going to be a handful. No doubt about that. From the pressure on the outside, from all of the implications possibly with this future at Ohio State on this game and on top of all of it, you got some injuries, you got some offensive stuff you got to do. So it's going to be a handful, but this is what those games are about. Billy Napier and pressure are like two peas in a pot. They're right where they need to be and they are going to be there for quite some time. But he did give his fanbase a huge moment last week and that subsided some of that pressure on him. No doubt about that. When they beat LSU, I think a lot of fans took a little bit of a sigh of relief more than anything else. I think they feel pretty confident about where they're going going forward, love DJ Lagway, love the direction of the program. That could all change on Saturday. If they were to get absolutely blown out by Ole Miss, if they roll into their place and absolutely dominate you, fans are going to immediately go back to what they were talking about about two weeks ago. I can almost promise you not to say that they're going to be calling for his head or anything like that. But just to say, the doubts are going to start creeping back in and a lot of the momentum that they've gotten on the recruiting trail, which has been very, very fun to watch, will probably start to wane just a little bit. People will say, well, was it just a week or were we really building towards something? So it's obviously going to be a really fun game. I do think Florida has a shot in this game, but even more than that, they don't necessarily have to lose. Just stay the course, just play good football, put up a really good fight, let DJ Lagway do his thing. And even if you lose, lose close. Don't get blown out. Don't get rolled over by Ole Miss, because then you're going to have fans breathing down your neck the same way you did a couple of weeks ago. Rhett Lashley is a coach that weirdly enough, I feel like has gone under the radar this entire year. He's done an incredible job at SMU where you're in a position where they were incredible in the American. They are not confused being where they are, because being at the top of a conference has become kind of second nature to SMU over the last couple of years, but there's a different task. Finishing out this job is totally different than finishing out the job in the American, because you're going on the road to Virginia, a much more physical, much more bigger team than you would see at the American level with a UTSA or with someone like that. So it's one of those battles that you feel confident about where you stand in the standings. You feel confident, you feel comfortable, you feel like you are where you're supposed to be. When you walk into that stadium, you're going to realize it's a little bit different than last year. A lot different than last year in some ways, but they absolutely can smell that finish line. I can absolutely promise you that they feel very confident about what they can do. All it's about now is just keeping your focus for 60 minutes on Saturday. You get that win, you are on your way to the ACC title, and then maybe you can let your focus win just for a little bit throughout the next little bit, but at the end of the day, they have every ability to punch their ticket to the ACC title, to set themselves up for a CFP berth this weekend. But with that, with all of the noise around a possible upset, there's going to be some pressure involved in definitely keeping their guys just fully engaged on this game and not getting too far ahead of themselves, is a pretty tall order for a team that has not necessarily been at this level of the ACC trying to win a title in it. So going to be interesting to watch, no doubt about them, Rhett Lashley just kind of has his hands full, keeping everyone in the moment, keeping everyone engaged where they need to be and where their feet are throughout the next couple of weeks and really this weekend. Kenny Dillingham has become one of my favorite coaches in the Olive College football. He is so much fun. He is one of the most energetic, really fun guys in all of the sport, and he has a real awesome chance this upcoming Saturday, because you look at this Arizona State program three years ago, we were talking about him like they were dead in the water. We were talking about him like her med words had left them to die, had left them in really, really bad states, you know, they had NCAA allegations they had a million different things to deal with. And then they go hired Kenny Dillingham, the youngest coach in college football, a guy that had not been a head coach before, a guy that you're looking at and saying, man, that stinks. It's probably going to be two or three years and then they're probably going to kick him to the side and say, you know, well, we'll go out and get a better guy and now the sanctions will be lifted and he'll have a better shot to succeed. That's not what happened at all. He took the sanctions. He took everything that came with this job and he has taken over. He's done an incredible job this year about as good a job as really any coach in the entire country. And now they get BYU on Saturday. Now they get the moment that would send this program into a totally different place. And I do think people are underestimating this program overall. If they win Saturday and they go to the big 12 championship and let's say they either play a close one against Colorado or outright beat Colorado and go to this CFP tournament and they go to the 12th team, it is going to be a place that transfers immediately start looking at that recruits in that state that would look towards Arizona, look towards Texas or look towards Oklahoma are going to start looking towards Arizona state. And you'd be shocked how many talented players come out of the state of Arizona, whether you whether you want to talk about Bijon Robinson or whether you want to talk about Spencer Rattler or a couple other guys from around that area. It's a lot of really talented kids. And if this Arizona state program can hit the right button on Saturday and then continue to hit it for the next couple of weeks, things are going to get really dangerous around that area. And this team in Tempe could become going from sanctions three years ago to a pretty perennial CFP contender just about in five years. It's going to be incredible to watch all of this unfold and Kenny Dillingham deserves all the respect in the world. You got to win the one on Saturday first and all that tons of pressure on this program and on that guy. Marcus Freeman, you are in the catbird seat right about now. I tend to believe you shouldn't be, but you are. You are right now. You're very, very comfortable in that spot. If you went out, you will be hosting a CFP game. And if you saw the conditions up in Chicago in the northern area yesterday, probably not what SEC teams want to walk into. I'll just be totally honest because I live in the SEC country. I don't want to walk into that. I'll be totally honest, but it's going to be incredible to watch this one more than anything. It's just about focus and discipline. This is such a tough team when it comes to misdirections and movement and looks and all of the different stuff you have to deal with with a spread option look. Just keep your guys feet still, you know, just don't get a little bit shot footed. Don't get a little bit too aggressive. Don't get, you know, don't over pursuit on an angle. Don't do all the things that a lot of teams will do against a Navy or against an army and get caught. They obviously did not do that against Navy played really, really good football. This is another game where you got to play really discipline. The defense is incredible at doing that. You got to just execute on Saturday, get that win and then you got to get one more. The pressure continues to mount around Notre Dame as they get closer and closer to that final spot because any loss from now on, you're done. No doubt about that. Brian Kelly, this one is very, very interesting because it just got more interesting last night. And we'll talk about the details around that a little bit later, but Bryce Underwood is going to Michigan. He has flipped from LSU and that was the thing. That was the thing that everyone talked about all throughout the year saying, yeah, things aren't going great, really frustrating season. Everything's kind of going wrong, not necessarily where I expected us to be, but we have Bryce Underwood coming in next year. And if we can get Bryce Underwood in these doors, if he can start playing and really take us to the next level, things will be more than fine. Brian Kelly will be able to find his footing. That safety net is gone. Bryce Underwood's not walking through those doors. He's walking through the doors in Ann Arbor, Michigan. So, you have things to figure out beyond that. You have a lot of players that you now have to go pretty aggressively after, especially at the quarterback position. You have players in your own class that you have to make sure you call and make sure, are we good? Are you still committed? We're not thinking about moving to Michigan. We're not thinking about anything crazy there. There's a lot on the on his plate going forward. And if they lose this weekend of Vanderbilt, oh, buddy, the noise around this thing is going to get very loud in a hurry and some decisions are going to have to be made that do not want to be made. I promise you that just from a pure money perspective, they don't want to make this choice, but maybe their hands are tied by the end of this weekend. But we'll see what happens there. And then finally, Dion Sanders, it is right there. You are incredibly close to punching your ticket to the big 12 championship in your first year in the big 12 in your second year at Colorado and prove everyone wrong, including myself, prove absolutely everyone wrong. As of right now, he's a top contender for the coach of the year, along with Kurt Signetty. That could change on Saturday as crazy as that sounds. There is one moment on Saturday that could totally change that because if Kansas goes in there and gets a win or not goes in there, if they go into Kansas and get a loss, this thing is going to get interesting because you lose Saturday and Arizona state wins or someone else wins. You immediately go from top of the table feeling great about yourself into the CFP to fully out of it and have very little chance to get back into it in the final week as crazy as that sounds. That is a real possibility for Colorado and they got to be very careful. It's just one of those programs where they've done incredible things all year. And frankly, a loss on Saturday will not change that in my mind. It will in a lot of people's minds. As we all know, people are very, very quick to tear down this program, to tear down Dion, they will do it if they lose on Saturday, if they fall and fall a little bit short of the CFP, even though it is a massive, massive success of a season, people will come after you. So the pressure mounts, no doubt about that. For all of these coaches, they are in a position where you are two inches away from a CFP birth. You were two inches away in some of these cases from possibly being fired. So a lot of different pressure all around the country. And it's going to be incredible to watch all of that on full. But let's take our first break or second break here. And when we come back, we got a little bit of a week 13 whip around. We got to talk about that game that happened just about 10 minutes from me with Georgia Tech and NC State. And then we got to talk about all the other games all around the country. Some really good ones, including that Vandy LSU game that we just talked about going to be a really interesting one down there in Baton Rouge, but stick with us and we'll break all that down right after this. We just talked about the play or the coaches excuse me under the most pressure as we head into really the final couple of weeks. But specifically this week, so many coaches really close to punching their ticket to the conference championship. Some a little bit closer to possibly getting fired. So it's going to be really interesting to watch this week break down. But let's get into that. Let's talk about all the games that went down even earlier this week and getting into this weekend. And we'll start with one that I did not have plans to talk about. I did not think this was going to be that fun of a game. But man was it. They absolutely got after each other in Atlanta, about 10 minutes from me down I 85. They really got after each other. And it was a very, very fun game. A really awesome finish where you got four touchdowns in the final seven minutes of this game. You got five total touchdowns in the fourth quarter. It was a lot of fun. They really got after each other late. It felt like NC State had locked up this game like three different times. And then Georgia Tech came right back down and felt like Georgia Tech had locked up this game about three different times. And then NC State would make a play. So incredible, incredible game. And Aaron Fylo was the story. An incredible player out of Prince Avenue actually a couple of years ago actually interviewed him. Very nice kid, incredible player. And one of those guys that he can really play. I did not expect this from him in his freshman year, but 19 for 33, 265 passing did have one pick, but had 57 rushing yards in the game winning drive and score with his legs. And on that final drive, four for four passing 33 yards passing 35 yards rushing and a touchdown. The dude was incredible. It was really awesome to watch a kid that is essentially an 18 year old kid go out there and his heart rate looked like it never got over 80. It was incredible to watch this kid go to work and was very comfortable in the pocket and might have just sent a little bit of message to Georgia Tech and maybe do some other teams out there that he is a very capable quarterback. I'm sure there were some other quarterback coaches around the country, some recruiting people that were watching this really relatively closely on Thursday. But at the end of the day, it was an incredible game and Georgia Tech ensures a winning season, which is incredible for the second year and under Brent Key. It feels like everything around there just continues to mount. Not necessarily, you know, shooting up to the top anytime soon, but absolutely it feels like they just keep putting brick on brick on brick every single year. There's another year like that. And now they go to Athens with a chance to just ruin UGA season. They'd love to do nothing more than that. And they'll need another incredible performance from Aaron Fylo to get it. And then for NC State, they got one more to get their five and six right now looking for a bull eligibility. UNC stands in the way. So we'll see what happens there. Obviously, a really fun rivalry game. So we'll break that one down in time. But another thing I wanted to talk about with NC State before we move on. C.J. Bailey is a really good player. He made a couple of mistakes in the past game, but the reality was one was a tipped around end-around type deal where he just EJ lights he picked it off and went for the touchdown. I don't blame that on him nearly as much. And then the second one was Romelohite just making a ridiculous play. So overall, an elite athlete in every sense of the word, if he can get that passing just maybe 15, 20% better. I think this is a really dangerous player. I think this is a really dangerous team as we head into 2025. But a missed opportunity yesterday, a huge game for Georgia Tech and a really, really fun one down the stretch. No doubt. And then Wisconsin, Nebraska cannot wait for this one because this is big 10 football and you best best believe it's going to be big 10 football. Even though you have a Nebraska still breaking in Dana Holgerson, Wisconsin had fired Phil Longo earlier in the week. They're offensive coordinator. It's going to be late. Nate Letton as well as Kenny Geithin kind of calling that offense and charge of that offense. So we'll see what happens there going to be really interesting to see just how either of these offenses look. But I do think it's going to be a fun one. Both these teams are desperate to get a win desperate to get over 500 and get to a bowl game at the end of this thing. And Nebraska has lost four straight. Wisconsin's lost three straight. They're just begging for a win more than anything else. And I do think it's going to be a quintessential big 10 game. They're going to keep it on the ground. It's going to be a defensive battle first to 21 24 probably wins of this game. I do think Wisconsin's going to get it done. There's more of a gut feeling than just about anything else. But I feel like Wisconsin's a team that a lot of people think much less of than they probably should. I think they're a really good team. I think they're going to be able to play incredibly defensively and they'll get the win here even on the road. Nebraska will have a million questions as they always do around this time on Saturday. And then you got pit Louisville this upcoming weekend cannot wait for this one to unfold because it's a very interesting game in so many different ways. You have two teams that last week alone were knocked out of the CFP race. We're knocked out of the ACC race. Now they got to pick themselves up, dust themselves off and try to finish this season strong because they got this game. And then Louisville, I know has Kentucky. You really want to finish this season at least with eight, nine wins if you're these two teams, especially with the way pits started, you very much want to get to at least eight wins. So Eli Holstein is back to being healthy in this game. But the starter position has not been decided. I would assume that they're going to go back to Holstein. I'm not sure Nate, Nate Yarnell played plenty good football as far as I'm concerned against Clemson. So we're not be surprised if it was him. But in my opinion, I would throw out Eli Holstein out there. It just a personal position, but we'll see what happens in that respect. And then I do think it's going to be a really fun game. I think Louisville is going to give it going to give pit their fourth straight loss. This is one of those games where I think it's going to be a real battle. No doubt about that and actually have a pick about that here in a second. But I do think they's going to be a battle. But I'm going to take the team that's a little bit more explosive. So I'm going to go with Louisville. I do think pit fights tooth and nail for this one. It's actually really, really tight. But I do think Louisville makes that one big play down the field that changes this game. Vanderbilt LSU, the game that might just decide Brian Kelly's future as crazy as that sounds. But it is more of the more underrated games of the week. I think it's a really, really fun one in Diego Pavia. Does he have one more up his sleeve in 2024? He's given us a lot of great moments. Can he give us one more in? I tend to believe he's got one more in him. He's got LSU and Tennessee to prove that. So it's going to be really interesting to watch. But the LSU run defense has been really bad against quarterbacks just across the board. Diego Pavia, the difference between him and a Marcel Reed, or a Jalen Milroy, or Lenora Sellers. Not necessarily the elite athlete that all those other guys are. What he is elite at is ball handling. What he is elite at is selling things and getting out in space where maybe there doesn't seem to be space. He's able to find it on the outside. He's able to really work with a lot of people's eyes and can just kind of play around with a lot of different things. So I think when you look at this LSU defense, it's really about more of them being disciplined than more of them having to just out athlete the guy on the other side. So could be a little bit easier, could be a little bit tougher. Depending on the strength and weaknesses of this LSU defense, it'll be interesting to watch that. And then LSU and Brian Kelly just need this one. We talked about it earlier. They need this one. Just so badly. If they do not get this one, then some conversations are being had behind closed doors that I don't even know if they can do anything about, but they're gonna have my promise you that. Then he got Cincinnati going over to Kansas State and this is a very interesting game because it could mean nothing. It could mean the world in the Big 12 because Kansas State, you are still technically in it. You can back your way into the Big 12 championship if everything around you goes almost perfectly right. Let's just be totally honest. Now you have a little bit more of an open path with the game over against Iowa State coming up. But at the end of the day, they very much need to get this win if they want to salvage the season at all. Even if you don't get to the Big 12 championship, nine and three season has to feel pretty good. And then Avery Johnson going into 2025 with a little bit more confidence. Maybe you get this thing rolling downhill a little bit more. And then I do think the Cincinnati team has been tons of fun with Brandon Soresby. They started the season really strong. They have lost three straight and they've really struggled to get things going. They've really struggled. They especially stick with elite athletes on the outside. So I think Kansas State has enough of those guys, whether it's Avery Johnson and Dylan Edwards and DJ Giddens running the ball, whether it's a couple of those receivers making some big plays. I just think there's too many guys for Cincinnati to deal with for Kansas State. And I do think Kansas State wins and they keep the slimmest of hopes for the Big 12 championship alive. Virginia Tech Duke is one of those games that Virginia Techs had kind of a tough season. Duke has had a very solid season when I think I would have bet on those two schedules kind of earned those two records, excuse me, being totally flipped. You know, Duke seven and three Virginia Techs five and five. If you had told me that I probably would have flipped them and said no, you're wrong. I definitely got it right. Virginia Tech has to be seven and three. Duke has to be five and five, but Duke's played really, really good football. And for that, Malik Murphy has played really good football for Duke. It's been a little bit up and down some INT trouble, especially in that Miami game, but him with Star Thomas is an elite duo. They're very, very awesome. And one of those offenses that is a little bit, you know, we're going to run the ball. We're going to run the ball. We're going to run the ball. And then we're going to hit you over the top for an 80 yard touchdown. That's kind of the way they go about business. And with a guy with the arm strength that Malik Murphy has, I cannot blame him for that. The dude can throw a thing, a country mile. It's absolutely incredible to watch. But I do think there's going to be a ground and pound kind of tough game one way or the other. I think Virginia Tech just has more guys. I think Bischall Tuten is going to come back really, really strong. I think Kyron Jones is one of those guys that is going to show up in a big time moment like this. And I do think Virginia Tech gets the win. It could be a little bit ugly, a little bit sloppy throughout this one. But I think Virginia Tech gets the win. And at the very least gets bull eligible before that game against Virginia. Then you got this one over in the Rose Bowl. Technically UCLA is the home team here. Doesn't much matter, obviously, but they are technically the home team. But it is going to be incredible to get a little bit of a taste of a rivalry before we get into the big time rivalry weekend. It's going to be awesome to watch. And this is a very interesting game because you do have UCLA that has to get a game if they want to get to get to a bowl game in the DeShawn Foster era. Obviously do have Fresno State next week, but feel pretty confident they can handle business there. But for UCLA and Ethan Garbers, they've been a very, very solid team pretty much all year. And they do a lot of the things that USC doesn't, which is essentially just scrap out games, play games ugly, play games a little bit in the 20s and the 17s and make things a little bit uncomfortable for teams. I think they can do that against UCLA. I think they can do that against USC. I do think Jade and my Ava has been huge and will be a really good player in time for USC. I think UCLA is going to have the same rolling. I think TJ Hardin has a huge game. I think UCLA keeps their title hopes alive and they got one against one of these teams. Fresno State is who they're going to be playing in a couple of weeks and they are favored against Colorado State who is undefeated at the very top of the Mountain West and it's going to be a huge one. If Fresno State were to win this game, the door would open pretty much wide open for UNLV to possibly make it back into the Mountain West Championship and then possibly get another chance at Boise State at the end of this. But it's going to be a really, really fun game back and forth a little bit and I do think it's two teams that kind of are heading in different directions in some ways. Fresno State has lost two straight. They gave up 36 points to Air Force last week. So you're looking around and you really want to go bowling. No doubt about that and you got to get this one if you do. But a lot of different things are happening all around this team and it feels like they're a little bit off kilter at different times. Now all that being said they are favored by three points here. So it's a little bit of one of those lines that are you taking it? Does someone know something that type of thing? But I'm going to be a really, really fun game to watch and I think Fresno State is going to get it done. I think they're going to give the opening for UNLV and it's one of those games that I think is played right around in the 20s. Both these defenses very solid but then Mikey Keene makes that one play for Fresno State. They win the game and they continue moving on forward with a possible shot at a definitely shot at a bowl game but would help out UNLV quite a bit with a shot at the Mountain West Championship. But going to be incredible to watch all of these games unfold. Obviously we got some big ones. Those are a little bit more under the radar but plenty of really fun ones especially on the night slate to kind of play around with and see which ones going down to the wire which ones a little bit more bland play around with your TVs a little bit and have a Saturday more than anything else. But let's take our third break here and when we come back we got to talk about my best bets. A ton of different bets on here and we're in a little bit below 500 this past weekend hoping to get back on track and I feel very good about my picks this week so we'll talk about it right after this so stick with us. talked about some of the games that we just hadn't had chance to get to throughout the week so i'm really really fun ones especially on that night slate where you don't have that marquee game oh yeah you're waiting for there's a ton of really fun ones to kind of fill the gap excuse me i apologize for that but let's get into some of my best bets for this upcoming weekend a lot of really really fun ones all across the board this one and did drop a little bit below 500 this past weekend so trying to get back on track here and get things rolling and it's going to be a really fun weekend we got a couple of games that i'm a little bit on the fence about but one that i feel pretty good about honestly is SMU covering the spread of 10 over Virginia this upcoming weekend this SMU team can smell the finish line there's no doubt about it if they win this game they were into the ACC championship in their very first year they feel very good about where they're going in the CFP and they've probably changed that program forever in a lot of different respects but at the end of the day that boston college game was not necessarily great the defense didn't play great they led uh grace and james get away in the run game quite a bit they're going to come into this one mad and when you have the linebackers that they have in a mod walker and kobe wilson they're going to get after you they are very very tough individuals and they're two guys that i don't think are going to let performances like that happen two times in a row especially against a guy like anthony cool angery who can absolutely get out on the edge and make you hurt with his legs i think they're just not going to let that happen i think this defense is going to play a whole lot better virginia team got absolutely gashed on the ground last week i think brityard smith and kevin jennings have huge days on the ground smu gets a relatively comfortable win and punches their ticket to the acc championship i do like the over in colorado kansas because it's a very enticing over i'll be totally honest with you these two teams are going to get out of after each other because you look at these two offenses right now kansas is playing it's good of football as they've played all year colorado is one of those teams that they're always good to score some points whenever you think that they're not playing well one day whenever you think that they're going to be a little bit stagnant or a little bit off they hit a big time played a will shepherd and the entire game changes so i'm not super worried about colorado in this respect also i do think both these defenses are good and they've started to elevate their game just a little bit i still think they can be had i think this colorado defense has done a great job i think if they are able to get blocked up front and give jail and daniel's time i think it could be a load for them to deal with so it's going to be awesome to watch this one unfold and i think when you look at the colorado uh wide receiver core so much of this season for kansas especially this last little bit has been about how good their corners have played you know melodots and kobe brian really talented players this is going to be the tallest order by a million miles and then for kansas i really do think they're going to have some success running the ball up front i think this game is going to be fast and furious to start and then maybe settle in a little bit i think we're playing in the thirties in the fourth quarter in this one pit plus eight at luivol is going to be a really interesting one because i am picking luivol to win the game so it's going to be a little bit of a battle back and forth we'll see what happens here but i do think it's one of those teams that it's just not going to let you off the hook i i don't necessarily think they're going to play the prettiest game on saturday in fact i can almost promise you they will not play the prettiest game on saturday but the biggest thing i noticed when they played klimson a week ago where a lot of things were on the line a lot of different implications but still even if they won that game they would be on the outside looking in of the acc championship but they fought that defense absolutely flew around they played really really good and they were all over uh klimson pretty much all day i don't think luivol is going to be all that different i think they're going to be all over this offense i don't think the d-play is going to come quite as frequently as luivol would like and i really do think this is going to be a very close game a little bit gross and a little bit against what luivol wants to do in it i think pit wins this one i i not wins this one i do think luivol is probably going to get the win i think it's a one score possession one way or the other for sure army plus 14 and a half i thought about going the other direction i really did think about going no to the end way i just couldn't do it i do think army has a little bit more of ability to win this game or at least stay close in this game then some people are giving them credit for they are ready for a rock fight and it's not just because they are a run team not just because they you know like to run the ball like to you know matriculate their way down the field it's because they have one of the best run defenses in the country if they're more than happy to keep this game on the ground because they feel pretty confident in their ability to stop the run on the other side obviously an entirely different stratosphere to what they've been playing before but at the end of the day you're playing really good run defense you're playing really good run defense if you are structurally sound you are structurally sound and then you just got to make the tackle in front of you so it's going to be really awesome to watch all of this unfold and i do think brison daily is just one of those players you're probably not going to stop them i'd not to say that you can't slow them down you're probably not going to stop them all the way and we'll see what happens on that but overall i do think this run defense is legit i do think the ball will have to be put into wylie lennard's hands a little bit too often and i think a couple of mistakes will come army will be able to at least keep this one close i won't uh pick an outright win but i do think army keeps this one close in makes this one a little bit more interesting for the cfp committee texas a and m auburn i do like the under in this game it might be the most confident bet that i have this week this one's going to be gross i feel very confident that i'll be totally honest with you i will say if you're an nfl scout going to this game just lock in on the front seven on either side those d-line and those linebackers those are the guys that you're going to want to be watching in this one and then there are wide receivers on that auburn side that you're going to want to watch as well but at the end of the day it's going to be an absolute slug fest i think it's going to be a fun one don't get me wrong i do love me a good slug fest every now and then but i don't think a and m's going to be able to run the ball with marcell reed with how athletic the defensive line and defensive front is for auburn i don't think auburn's one of those teams that is going to be able to go through this game without any making any mistakes without stalling out a drive in the five-yard line or throwing a pick in the in zone that just feels like something that's going to happen in this game so at the end of the day i do think it's going to be a lot of maybe some sustained drives that end up going up with field goals maybe some sustained drives that end of ending with picks or turnovers or something like that but i do think it's one of those games that is just going to be a grind you out game a and m just has to win by one point i said it earlier in the week i don't care how ugly this game is if you're an a and m fan win the game move on to next week and then give yourself a shot at an SEC title berth another wonder that i like at the exact same number is alabama oklahoma i think is going to be a really interesting game and when you talk about this oklahoma team they just badly want a spark they badly want that one thing that makes fans feel a little bit better about this season that one thing that makes you feel like okay maybe 2025 we can really get this thing rolling really get rolling downhill and more than anything you want to make a bowl game you're not even at a bowl game right now so you very badly have to get this one done and you very badly at the very least keep this one close give your fans a little bit of juice here and i think your defense is going to be able to do that you know jayla milro such a gifted runner such an elite athlete one of the best in the entire country oklahoma was really good against the run and if that's the only way that alabama is going to be able to attack them which has kind of been the way that they've attacked the last couple of weeks i think it could get a little bit bogged down the way this game this game to me just screams seven to six at half time alabama's up seven to six and you're looking around thinking maybe oklahoma can get this done i do think alabama gets the ball it gets the job done i do think they finish but i think this one's gross i think oh you uh offense is not going to score at all i don't think this run game for alabama is going to be nearly as effective as it has been the last couple of weeks and i think it'll be a little bit close i'm not picking oakland with a win but i think it'll be a little bit closer than some people think and then ucla i like them plus five against usc ucla is a team that's just battling right now i've really really started to enjoy this team i like to shawn foster when he got hired i love the energy around that program it's really started to show off and eat uh even garbers and tj harden are playing really really good offense right now i think uses in one of those spots where they uh switched in jade my ava they played relatively good football against nebraska team they got away with one at the end to get a win there but at the end of the day they're still a team that's very flawed to me they're still a team that's very much up in the air they're still a team that i worry about getting one win and then stringing that out to get another win so i'm gonna pick the team that i think just has the ability to scratch claw and fight just a little bit more i'm gonna pick ucla and that defense to get some big time plays and i think they get the win here and then we got lsu i'm gonna go i'm gonna lean into it i'm gonna lean into the pressure i'm gonna lean into the skid i'm gonna lean into the nightmare that is going on in bat and ruse right now because they need this one as bad as they have ever needed a win they need this one well not ever but in the season they need this one so bad if they don't get this one tons of questions about the future of brian kelly tons of questions about the future of the program tons of questions about the future of these players you have to get this one done you just have to so i'm gonna bet on you to do it and for a more football reason more than anything else uh the vander built team overall has been incredibly good uh over this entire year they've been incredibly good when you talk about vander built football they're six and four it's been incredible to watch but they have started to stumble as of late one of the big time issues has been getting that run game going to the degree that they like obviously lsu has been a little bit more susceptible to the run game with the quarterback but i just don't think dago pavi is the athlete to really make that as big of a factor as it was against jayla milro or as it was against marcel reed so i do think it's going to be a little bit more pendant of a performance from the uh lsu uh or defense and i think they just need it i think they just know that in that room they absolutely need to send a statement to their fans and i tend to believe they're gonna do that so it's gonna be an awesome week hopefully i can get back over uh 500 this week maybe a little eight no slate who knows well we'll just roll through this and feel very confident what coming in on monday but at the end of the day it's going to be incredible to watch all of that unfold but let's uh take our last break here when we come back we just got a weekend wrap up we're going to get into a couple of coaching carousel things very quickly just a couple of openings around and some names to watch from around those and then recruiting news that just took the world by storm yesterday we got about four of them that took the world by storm yesterday so we'll break it all down right after this so stick with us breaking news and this one is almost unbelievable yeah it's all about new customers at bet 365 because they get 150 dollars in bonus bets when they bet five dollars and even better bonus bets can be used on the spread totals and player props there you have it bet five dollars to get 150 dollars in bonus bets and see why it's never ordinary at bet 365 gambling problem color text 1 800 get a hundred dollar credit on your next ad campaign go to linkedin.com/results to claim your credit that's linkedin.com/results terms and conditions apply linkedin the place to be to be so so so so all righty welcome back everyone we just talked about my best bets for this upcoming weekend definitely a week where i'm feeling a little bit confident and sometimes that means you're gonna do terribly sometimes that means everything's gonna go right so who knows what happens but let's get into a little bit of a weekend wrap up because we got some things to get to and we'll start with the coaching carousel that ease us away in and then we'll get to that recruiting news i promise you that but first we got to talk about the owl off folks we have an owl off in coaching for college football right now fau rice temple and canisaw state they have all fired their head coaches they are all owls every coach that gets hired from those four programs going forward i want i want like a power ranking as we go throughout their years i want to know who has the best winning record at their new program who's doing the best who is the biggest owl of the bunch that's what i want to know over the next five years but talking about a couple of guys that were let go from these universities tom herman was the coach at fau been a little bit of a tough couple of years for tom herman but at the end of the day i do think he's going to be someone you're going to want to watch for all the oc positions open around the country oklahoma would be a very funny one i won't argue with that but definitely would be very interesting to see all that unfold definitely going to be a guy that has plenty of offers on the table if i had to imagine for temple they did get rid of fran uh not fran brown why am i um standrydon excuse me standrydon is who they got rid of over over there at temple i promise you by monday by the end of the month at the very least he will be a running back or run game coordinator somewhere he's a very very talented coach and one of those guys that he was at texas uh when a lot of those great running backs rolled through like b john robinson like roshan johnson and he's absolutely going to get a call i might be from the nfl level to be totally honest really good at that level and that's actually where texas got him from or actually gordetech got him from back in the day so it's going to be interesting to watch all of that unfold he's a really really talented coach i have no doubts that both those guys will get jobs somewhere i think tom hermans probably no see at the college football level i think uh standrydon has a little bit more maneuverability to that upper level and then for kennesall state they fire brian bohannon they shouldn't have i'll i'll leave it at that for the time being i don't know who's going to be the next head coach here i think there's some good options even in that state to kind of play around with but at the end of the day i think they should have kept brian bohannon so i'll leave this one alone for the time being we'll see what happens on the other side of this one and then mike bloomgrin he got fired from uh rice and i do think he's another guy to watch for an oc job somewhere out there so all these things considered just be on the lookout next year we will have an owl often if i need to keep track of the rankings i'm more than happy to do that but it's going to be really interesting to watch more than anything it's going to be fascinating to watch who takes these jobs i've seen it a couple of different people fa us all charlie white jr the offensive coordinator for old miss was on the table so we'll see how many power four coordinators want to go because the state of the sport right now seems to be if you keep your wagon hitch to a very big time program or a very big time uh conference excuse me if you keep your wagon hitch to a very big time conference you're in a very good position going forward as like as a coach if you go to a smaller school you're in a very interesting place with some of the financials that will have to happen around there so we'll see what happens maybe charlie white will take that fa you job and get it back to where lane kiffen got it his uh his head coach right now but going to be interesting to watch all of that unfold and the owl off has officially started and i will keep you updated as it unfolds i promise you that a couple other fires here charlotte did get rid of bif pogie one of the best characters in all of college football i hate to see him go i'll be totally honest with you but it sounds like he is going up to an arbor to help help out with his french her own more and michigan's uh finished to the season so definitely something to watch there we'll see if he maybe gets picked up by that staff but definitely a very talented guy and one of my favorite player people in all of college sports just by the look alone humas did fire don brown a very experienced very long time head coach that actually did coach at michigan for a little bit uh some time ago and they go to athens this upcoming weekend this humas team does so it's going to be a tough job for the interim over there i'm not sure exactly who that is but obviously going to be about as tall of an older as you could possibly ask for for your first job as an interim coach but then you do a ball state they got rid of mike new up there and probably had to happen at some point i ball states one of those programs that's always in a weird spot in the mac but obviously you get the right coach things started to really roll mike new just wasn't quite that right coach very talented guy and definitely someone that i expect to be on a staff here pretty soon but obviously a very very tough blow and one that could lead to if they make the right hire let's just say could lead to some nice times over there in ball state another development is jim mackewain is going to retire at the end of the season central michigan head coach and he just got a big win over western michigan last weekend it's a little bit weird the timing to me overall maybe the nc double a investigation that's going around around him and michigan and all of that craziness is hanging over his head just a little bit although he has had a really long career so nothing to be said you know if he's just retiring to retire more power to him hope he has the best of lives the rest of the way and definitely a very talented head coach that gave us plenty of really fun moments and i'll just leave it at that for the time being uh mac ground is the final one here he sounds like he's going to stay the head coach at unc going into the 2025 season i'm really surprised by this i'll be totally honest with you i thought he's going to hang him up at the end of the year i thought he was going to uh wrap it up but the dude loves football nothing more can really be said he absolutely loves football he wants to be around football and there's a quarterback in that unc uh group called brice baker you'll see him next year and that might be a great reason to come back if i'm being totally honest because that dude can play but it's going to be incredible to watch all of these coaching hires and fires and movements and coordinating hires are a huge part of this it's going to be incredible to watch all that unfold and will obviously keep you updated as it does but moving to recruiting this was big news brice underwood the top quarterback in the country has flipped to his home state team in michigan from lsu the reports are a lot of money i'll be totally honest with you 10.5 i saw i saw 12 million it's ridiculous no doubt about that but that's the game we play that's the game that just about every sport in the world plays so here we are uh we've gotten to where a lot of us didn't want to be but we're here um but the kid is an absolute program changer six three about 200 pounds elite thrower elite runner of the football one of those guys that can change the way that you do business can change the way that you call an offense can change the way that you recruit can change the way that everything in your program and everything in your offense in particular goes he is a game changer in every sense of the word he is a guy that very few guys have looked at his tape and said anything but is that cam newton is that a kid that can totally take over a sport is that a kid that can totally take over a program and essentially win a national championship by himself in in some respects he is as crazy as that sounds he really is that type of guy so way to recruit by sharon more and dave portnoy and a couple other guys around there but an incredible incredible flip and one of those things that this is the point this is the moment if we're down the road five years seven years and uh michigan is playing in their third national championship in five years this will be the moment that you can look back to because this is the moment where every recruit in the country everyone around uh the michigan program everyone around the big ten started looking at michigan just a little bit differently and those recruits around the country they're already starting to flow in there's a couple of D linemen there's a couple of O linemen there's a couple of wide receivers that have already started to poke poke their head that direction this michigan class could get very special in a hurry this is a player that i don't want to overstate him but it's very hard not to the kid can go he is so so so good and he's one of those guys that can totally change your program and what you do as a program going forward it sounds crazy i know it sounds hyperbolic i understand that it is not this kid is different in every sense of the word and if michigan get the right thing out of him he's going to play right away if they can get the right thing out of him in 2025 ooh buddy it's going to be a very very fun thing to watch i can promise you that so going to be incredible the flip side of that is he did flip from lsu where does that leave brian kelly we talked about it earlier in the show that was always the thing it was this year isn't going that well you know we're struggling things aren't going as cleanly as we want but we have Bryce Underwood coming in and when he comes in everything will be fine we'll be able to really hit the ground running that's why we didn't go after people in the portal because we needed the money to give to this kid because he's that important because he's that special well that kid's not in your building anymore that kid's never coming in your building he's not walking through those doors he's walking through the ones up in an arbor so you got some things to figure out now you did free up some money no doubt about that you did free up a little bit of money to go you know really go get big game hunting over the next couple of weeks as we get closer to national signing day you got to execute you got to do really really good work in if he doesn't then the clock has started ticking on brian kelly at lsu now i don't think they're gonna fire on this offseason because if you've seen that buyout it's a hefty number but at the end of the day i think it might just be a clicking time a time bomb at this point i'll be totally honest now obviously all this can change over the next couple of weeks but if the numbers that i saw around these n_i_l_ deals were accurate i don't know if lsu can really compete in the n_i_l_a_ or era the way that we thought they would but obviously still very much up in the air a huge loss for this program still got time to kind of build it up over the next two weeks and make this a little bit less ugly as you go into it but that was the guy no two ways about that definitely a huge loss and we'll see what happens going forward with that because brian kelly's job just got a little bit less secure and then you do have julian lewis another top 10 quarterback in the country regardless of where you look he is committed to colorado he decommitted from usc earlier this weekend they've already replaced him with someone that we'll get to here in a second but julian lewis is a fantastic player and it sounds like dion has the guy that is going to keep him in bolder he is going to stay in bolder this upcoming season he will be the head coach of colorado in 2025 unless crazy things happen over the next couple of weeks but at the end of the day a very very talented quarterback one of those guys that has really elite touch really elite ability to just get the ball where it needs to go not necessarily elite arm strength by any means but absolutely executor of a football game they kind of pick you apart type of quarterback kind of like a bricy on or kind of uh i'm thinking of another example i'm blanking but kind of like a bricy on where nothing physically is going to necessarily jump off the page by any means the ball is going to get where it needs to go more often than not and really a lot of the time it's going to get where it needs to go so i don't know if he's i have to assume he's going to be the starter right away if i had to imagine but i don't know if he's fully ready i do think there's going to be a learning curve at the next level i do think he's going to play right away but i do think he's getting there's going to be a little bit of a learning curve and if that uh offensive line can take a little bit of a step forward things get a little bit more interesting but overall very talented quarterback but i think year two is probably where you're going to want to see him really really flourish that being said he's taking over for a dude uh dion sanders finally found the replacement for his son shardir sanders and they're going to want him to hit the ground running so a lot of pressure on him no doubt about that but it's a great place to be an absolutely a team and a program that can really flip a switch going forward over the next couple of years and then we got talk about the guy that took louis a spot in the usc class and that's usane longstreet a very very talented player that wasn't a and m commit but flipped shortly after the news with uh louis and this guy is a physical specimen as you can see on your screen he is a physical specimen the dude can do anything you want him to do with the football is a relatively good runner not necessarily elite like some of the other guys in this class but absolutely can move around absolutely can make some plays and he's one of those guys that just feels like a link in riley quarterback it feels like almost a better version of jaylin hertz in some respect so it's going to be awesome to watch this thing unfold it's going to be awesome to watch this guy play because i think he's going to sit one year and get a transfer quarterback or maybe it'll be jade my oven next year or melor moss next year over there at usc but at the end of the day whether or not he sits one year or not the second he walks on the field he is going to be a special player for that usc team and then finally one more flip just for fun kevin spirey a very talented quarterback in the 2025 class has flipped from oklahoma to uh florida state a big time win for florida state and to me it has some very very obvious signs that no see hire is not too far away obviously we'll likely wait till the end of the season but there is a name in bren and marion that has been thrown around a lot he's worked with mike uh norvel in a number of different places if he gets the hire this could be a special offense in 2025 especially if he gets full play calling duties this could be a very special group and i don't think kevin spirey is going to be a quarterback for that group i do think they're still going to have to go out and get a guy from the portal for 2025 but a very special guy waiting in the wings in an offense that if you bring in bren and marion uh marion it's going to get special in a hurry so a crazy day in the world of recruiting no doubt about that we're only two weeks from signing day so we'll keep you updated with all the craziness that goes on because i don't think it's going to stop anytime soon but we got to get to some injury updates really quickly here for Ohio state we do have an o-line update for you guys karson hinsman is going to move from left guard to center and then austin seravel is going to move into that left guard position i thought it might be luke montgomery it is going to be austin seraveled who played at at points earlier in the year but got injured found his way back so going to be a huge part of this offense and we'll see what happens with maybe they move it around again maybe hinsman goes back to left guard you kick uh you have donvan jackson at left tackle and then you bring in a younger center who knows what happens throughout this game but that seems to be the way that they'll trot out on the first series and we'll see what happens the rest of the way for indiana you're relatively healthy no two two ways about that nothing big to report here and no mysterious injury popping up for kurtis work which is very very good news no doubt about that but moving on to notar name army for notar name the biggest thing is howard cross he is still questionable for this game is moving in the right direction it seems but we'll see if he's uh gonna play probably gonna be a game time decision devin for it as well kind of in the same boat there we'll see what happens there anytime you can have as many of those running backs on the field you feel pretty good if you're no other day and so jeremy love can pick up the slack but you'd love to have a little bit of a counterback on there as well and then for army you're healthy pretty much across the board you are very healthy right now brison daily is someone to watch because he's still working his way back from a little bit of an injury he gets hit on one weird play this thing could get a little bit interesting so definitely something to watch there but overall army is very healthy probably as healthy as they've been in a couple of weeks here in ready to hit the ground running on saturday and then a couple of little things i was totally wrong about him reparish i thought he was coming back this week he probably won't be back this entire year there's so many different things happening around injuries and a million different things that it will slip my mind from time to time so apologies for that but omus does need to running back to step up uh they need rashad aimis or someone like that to step up in this spot and obviously ulysses bentley will likely be the guy but a lot of different things going on around there so they're gonna have to find the run game one way or the other against the floor defense that playing really really good against the run and then the big news for old miss though is trey harris we'll be back for this game a huge huge thing for that offense and we'll see how big of an effect he can have how close to a hundred percent he is in this game and then not an injury that we didn't know about before we did no quay robinson was going to be out for the year i'm just interested to see what that pass rush looks like without him he's a very talented player and one of those game records on that defense you take him out of that pass rush do they have the guys to get home to the degree that they need to gonna be a really interesting thing to watch this week obviously the oklahoma oline not necessarily super stout but definitely a group that can make you earn it and it'll be really interesting to watch what that alabama pass rush it looks like on saturday but going to be an incredible week and one final thing before we get uh before we wrap up here is we have a top five game this upcoming weekend we have number two against number five in the horseshoe i understand everyone's mad about strength the schedule i understand everyone saying indiana's no good and tennessee's the best team in the country or every scc two lost team deserves to be in a over every one lost big 10 and big 12 team i get all that and i find myself somewhere in the middle of a lot of those conversations just enjoy the game on saturday go in with an open mind if you're an scc fan that doesn't feel like indiana should ever be in go in with an open mind just watch that team play it's very very fun they're a very good team and they deserve a little bit of love on the other side if you're an indiana fan that says anyone that says regardless of the result here we should be out of the field you're ridiculous just sit down watch your team play the biggest game that you've played in a very very long time and enjoy that moment i understand all this craziness i understand the arguments are easy to get in involved in but just for saturday at noon sit down in your couch watch two top five teams go at it in one of the best places in all of college football the losing its program of all time against one of the most winningest programs of all time it's going to be special and it could totally change the course of the course of the big 12 a big 10 going forward so a lot of different things can happen on saturday but let's just put all the anger aside just for a couple hours on saturday and appreciate what we're watching two top five teams and one of the best venues in the country that's about it enjoy the college football this weekend but
