AP News, I'm Hayl Pundrani. AP correspondent Donna Warder reports on the black community in Chicago and how some say the needs of recently arrived migrants are being put ahead of their needs. Reverend Chauncey Brown of Second Baptist Church of Maywood says migrants are being dropped off in the middle of underserved neighborhoods. Is unfair both to the communities but also unfair to the humanity that is forced into these neighborhoods. Richard Wallace is executive director of equity and transformation. When black people say we want parks that doesn't mean that we don't want X for migrants. When black people say we want jobs that does not mean that we're saying we don't want jobs to migrants. Chicago already has spent more than 300 million dollars of city, state and federal funds to provide housing, health care and education to more than 38,000 migrants. Reverend Brown says as a sanctuary city, Chicago has more work to do in making sure that resources are equally distributed. AP correspondent Charles Dilla Desma reports voting has kicked off in the India elections. Millions of Indians are voting in a six week election that a referendum on Hindu nationalist prime minister Narendra Modi, the first round of voting is being held across 21 states. Modi is seeking a third rare term in office. He's up against a broad opposition alliance that hasn't named their candidate for prime minister if they win, India's voters will elect 543 members for the lower house of Parliament during the staggered elections that will run until June 1. The votes will be counted on June 4. I'm Charles Dilla Desma. Speaking to reporters following jury selection at his criminal trial, former president Donald Trump says a stack of stories he was holding criticized the trial. These are all every single one. The NHL board of governors voted Thursday to approve a $1.2 billion sale from Alex Morello to Utah jazz owner Ryan Smith clearing the way for the franchise's move to Utah next season. The deal includes a provision for Arizona to get an expansion team if a new arena is built within the next five years. The deal will be facilitated through the NHL with 200 million going to league owners as a relocation fee. The team will officially be known only as Utah until a long term name is determined. I'm Gethan Coolba. The United States vetoed a widely backed UN resolution yesterday that would have paved the way for full United Nations membership for Palestine.
