Speaker of the House Mike Johnson was promoted in hopes that the house GOP would function better than it did under Kevin McCarthy. But as time goes on and as more and more foreign wars break out, it's looking less and less promising for the new Kingfish from Louisiana. Though Speaker Johnson is right, he has virtually no leverage. His biggest mistake is airing the dirty laundry on the Republican Party on television, network television. This is very simple. I'm operating with the smallest margin in US history. I have a one vote margin. In order to get something into this underlying package, we have to have the votes in the floor to pass a rule. That's how the process works here. The rule allows for the substantive bill to be put on the floor. I don't have all my Republicans who agree on that rule, and that means the only way to get a rule on the floor is that it requires a couple of Democrats. Well, they're not for the border security. That's not their policy. Some of these folks like open borders. That's what their votes show and indicate. And so we don't have a way. I literally don't have the numbers. I don't have a way to merge it together. Johnson admits not only the party's obvious crippling division, but also that without the great MAGA real estate mogul in charge, the GOP can't make a deal.
