Justice Marshall Michael issued the ruling minutes after a brief hearing. The failed attempt came only hours after the jury selection process concluded in Trump's criminal trial. Opening statements could begin as soon as Monday. Prosecutors are seeking a hearing to decide whether they should be allowed to question Trump about his recent civil court losses. It protects the rights of LGBTQ+ students, but it does not address the controversial issue of transgender athletes competing, something that's intentional to avoid raising the ire of critics during an election year. The rules also provide a wider definition of sexual harassment and change past regulations on sexual assault on campuses to ensure schools respond properly to complaints and that victims are protected.
