AP News, I'm Ben Thomas. Both Iran and Israel are playing down an apparent Israeli air strike early today in Central Iran. Sacramento has details. Tehran is not directly acknowledging the possibility of an Israeli strike, and Israel isn't commenting either. The Italy's Foreign Minister says the U.S. told a G7 meeting Israel gave last-minute information about the action, and while Secretary of State Anthony Blinken does not dispute it. "I'm not going to speak to that, except to say that the United States has not been involved in any offensive operations." He says the Biden administration remains committed to tamping down mid-east tensions that have been rising since Saturday's assault on Israel, which followed its own strikes against Iran in Syria. Neither claim could be independently verified. On the ground, Russian forces have been pummeling exhausted Ukrainian troops with smaller attacks ahead of a springtime advance. At the G7-4 ministers meeting in Italy, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dometro Kaleba says his country needs the West's help. "It has the military capacity, financial capacity, but it has to provide Ukraine with all necessary resources as soon as possible to save Europe from a larger work." More USAID may be coming. All four teams in the finales of the NBA play-in tournament are dealing with injury issues. The Heat will be without forward Jimmy Butler and guard Terry Rosier for their game against the Bulls, who had guard Alex Caruso go down to a sprained ankle and Wednesday's win over Atlanta. The Pelicans will be without Zion Williamson because of a hamstring injury he suffered against the Kings, who have been without injured starters Kevin Herder and Malik Monk. Meanwhile, Clipper star Kawhi Leonard is questionable for the playoff opener with right knee inflammation. I'm Gethan Kuba.
