Another fun one Texas over here drew Kelson Paul Wildington Texas wins what 31 14? I believe Got a little weird for a second. That was a fun third quarter man, but still comfortable the whole time Even when it wasn't perfect still still getting W's man. So I feel good about it Especially because guess what it's a and a week now So it's time but good win guys. What'd you guys think kind of top the line thought? My thought is the old line ball The old line came to play today Random ball really well protected Quinn in the pocket really well. He looked confident as if he knew he wasn't on the attach today I mean, that's the thing that stands out to me more than anything That's the way you want to see your old line playing before going into next week's game Seconded and I will also offer it feels dispiriting to see 14 points on the scoreboard Defense gave up seven. Yeah, and they played really well. They completely shut down Kentucky's run game Kentucky showed a little something when they put in cutter bully and he started throwing the ball around like he had nothing to lose Which he didn't know but they adjusted to that as well And I we got intense pressure both on Vandegriff and bully Bully ended up with negative 57 rushing yards Vandegriff had negative rushing yards. I think Kentucky What did they have 40 something yards rushing total? We can get that for you right now Paul. Thanks buddy, and I Just you know, I thought that was an excellent effort. Hey, we busted a coverage. I haven't seen us bust a coverage in like eight games or something Yeah Yeah, we are human back there, but I just thought the defense played really well, but The infrastructure of the team we always talk about the stars and the glamour players and the skilled the O line and the D dominated Do you see the average per rush? 0.7 yards per rush. We're look at ours 5.3 I've it's no long runs by the way 47 Like you can jack up your rushing average with a 70 yard run, but then your other runs aren't great, right? Texas just repeatedly Every rush was productive. I would love to see our efficiency on our rushing yard and then was Great wasner was like Adrian Peterson like he was like unstoppable on the drive. It was like what is going on dude? Well, that's right. Can I can I read can I read some music to your ears? Yeah, Texas starts with the ball It's 24 14 things have gotten a little weird. It's the fourth quarter time to ice the game There's 11 minutes and 29 seconds on the clock gentlemen. We get the ball on our 14. Let me just read you the following run Weisner seven yards Run Weisner two yards run Weisner four yards Run Weisner 16 yards run Weisner 13 yards run Blue eight yards run blue one yard run Weisner two yards Run Weisner six yards run Weisner four yards run blue 13 yards run blue three yards Run Weisner five yards run Weisner one yard and fourth and goal at the UK one Guess what we do gentlemen? We ran it. We ran it Weisner one yard touchdown eight and a half minutes off the clock 15 carries 86 yards running the same two or three plays on repeat O-line running backs Way to ice football game. Yeah, there was nothing cute about that. That was just We're gonna run it down you throw it. I felt good and that's exactly what we needed at that moment, too Felt like two weeks back when it got a little scary like Arkansas. I guess got a little scary We had that drive in and closed the door got a little sketchy have that drive closed the door So I think it's two weeks in a row Where we were able to kind of finish those things Twilight Zone third quarter Yeah, I wasn't even mad during the third quarter I was just like what is happening right now? Because they started doing it to drop in the ball and like what is it? What is going on and what was funny? What's funny is when you see a fumble by blue And then you see a fumble by by Gibson and all I'm reading is Quinn's hurt take him out. Sorry. I'm like wait Quinn had claiming hurt has nothing to do with these phones like what we were talking about. Yes, Queen was living but I just thought the People were ready to it was like people had the tweets read it and say to say get clean out regardless of the situation The one he the pick you did that had nothing to do with his leg hurt nothing to do with his leg And Nothing to do with his leg. I only say that to say There's a difference between being hurt and injured. I mean I saw Campbell get up after playing limping like that is normal Dude like unless it's impacting the way you're playing You gotta know you don't fight somebody to take him out But a lot of Quinn's injury or being hurt and limping had a lot to do with it was always tied to what we play A&M next week Almost everything was followed up. Well, we play A&M next week. We play A&M next week. He has to be ready for next week That's okay, man. Like the adrenaline from the game. We'll get him through the game He'll be fine and he'll figure it out tomorrow And we get to play now we get to play CIA is Quinn gonna be quarterback versus A&M do they need to prepare for arch now we get a lot of fun Subtrefuge that can go on this next week as well with that Our defense is ridiculous Yeah Yeah, whenever we fumbled that blue fumble and then we immediately shut them down again, and they missed a kick after the announcers And so yeah, the defense is awesome man. They gave up seven points It's a It's impressive man, and I thought Trey more I trade more man these past few weeks of just Looking like he's finally in gear man. That feels good The most textbook play of a bootleg I've ever seen like amazing Just always where he needs to be. Yeah, great job Yeah, he did not bite at all is that right is that what they're crediting us with? What I'm at six sacks overall Yes six sacks 11 TFL's two interceptions Yeah, I I wrote in my preview that Kentucky's tackles were as bad as Arkansas's and that that bore out I Think in fact one of them ended up sitting out, right? He was injured so they had to even put in a reserve for a bad tackle So if you're backing up a bad tackle, you're not gonna be really good. So yeah, those guys got after it Sorel had a game Sorel played great. Our edges have played really well this back up Yeah, man seeing the senior guys get some stuff was cool. Makuba getting a pig Sorel looked good Why do you guys genuinely was fumbling so much I? Think his natural running gate is something. It's just it's just different. He he moves see The difference with me because it looks fine But when he moves the ball just becomes exposed right He keeps it tight and just there's no every shoulders, but everything stays and moves together There's just there you can't see my arms here, but there's a difference when you're moving like this and when you're moving like this He kind of has this forward like juking so he can backstep, you know And like his arms will get out in front of them and all that kind of stuff So yeah, I think there is just a natural running style because what do you do now? What you make him hold it like this and now he's awkward and not as able to cut I don't know how you I don't know how you fix it because I mean we lost against Washington pretty much for this same problem I will say this I did make a note in the first half on blue blue looks good though. Like blue blue has looked Yeah, like that. That's I mean the one two punch of why isn't there in blue right now. I mean they bought tonight The fumble erases feels like he erased everything for everybody, but blue was balling tonight, so Yeah Yeah, I think you nailed it true He's he's running with his arm extended with the ball extended because that's sort of you know When you're running if you're getting time than a 40 you're putting your arms out and you're running So Connor when you run as fast as like me and Drew. Yeah, yeah, there's like Like you know, there's a form to it. Yeah. Yeah, no, I've heard about it Yeah, Drew's like a four nine five forty guy like me in his prime Right, I think I Think in I hope I can run that today what Drew was 11. He ran a four nine forty. What's your fastest time ever Drew? four four four I Ran a I ran a five a five seven An offensive line didn't rhyme baby five seven dude the sixth barrier. Yeah, yeah And they were like yeah, I don't we don't think you're you're going anywhere with that Said, what do you mean at five ten? You don't think I'm going to the next level Not pulling an injured Quinn was a mistake and could have blown up Yeah, I just like I felt like once he he wasn't asking him to do much The only time that I did have a question is where he called a rollout kind of her Quinn I was like no really reason to do that But he was just standing in the pocket getting it out fast like I really wasn't that concerned with him being in the game Yeah, I also think Sark was pretty The ball at that point. Yeah, I mean as evidenced Ten in one no closing out handing off the ball. There's something about that primal. Yep. Just Taking it from him. It's pretty awesome. Yeah, and if you're back to you just want to eat Because once you get rolling you can tell to Kentucky's defense wasn't they didn't have it figured out it wasn't like we were running the same play back-to-back and but I mean we did keep it simple we just they had I mean we were moving them off the line and our backs were decisive finding the gaps and just taking the yards They Trey I don't know how much he's weighing now But the way he does play bigger for his he gets every yard he could possibly get out of every run We need that you know, it's his toughness and his grit is what gets those extra yards that we would Assume we'd get from a much bigger back. He just grinds the yards out as opposed to just being able to lean forward and get him So yeah, man. He is a difference Mike. Yes, sir You know other things you we always talk about the the passing game is this finely tuned orchestra of timing You know the run game is timing too And when you get that timing down and you feel Like you can tell how things are gonna be blocked because of how the front is and what Kentucky's Bills are you kind of can time it and you you get in sync with your offensive line They're coming off on time and it I mean there's a there's a rhythm to the run game, too people think it's just moving people off the ball or you know, I'll just brutal or you know, it's There's a there's a sync Christian synchronicity to it as well and uh, Texas was feeling it Yeah He couldn't move and man being able to move super overrated as you can see I mean we still just put up thirty one. You can hand that we're that good. We don't need all this quarterback being able to walk stuff What it's about winning? That's right. He had a toward all side. He was fine. Exactly Our defense is elite the fourth down stuff was awesome Oh black felt black well went kamikaze and blew up a blocker and laley cleaned it up Yeah, I love that kind of stuff, man. They're sure a little bit about black well. It's like you have one job Go blow up an old lineman like that I'll never forget it. There's there's there were a few practices where stutter and I like Coach would get on the defense about something and I had and I just be like, hey stud I'm sorry, man like I got to come down here I'm about the ear hole you and he couldn't do anything because they're just they're just like bulls on parade, right? They're just zoning that's all that it was on block So all he could do is just take this ear hole shot But there's nothing better than coming downhill and just knocking a 300 pound lineman on his seat But just backwards like especially if you're 205 215 whatever So, you know whatever weight you are if you're explosive you can come down and put up put a lineman on this But so yeah, I love that for black. Well, especially your horse. You concentrate your force and to sit on in one spot There's nothing better Yeah, there was and that's black man a fanatic perspective calls black well game speed for that same thing Like you if you want somebody to go run and smack an offensive lineman. He's absolutely down. That's a great nickname Yeah Okay anyone have us out rushing Kentucky 10 to 1 No That's the best that we've looked all year. Oh dude. Yeah. Yeah Anthony Hill played really well. That was a very like point him down hill game And yeah, ten tackles two sacks. He had another tackle for loss. I think I mean that's He thrives in that kind of environment Yeah, we doubled up Kentucky in yards what four forty one two thirty two. I mean, that's that's how the game felt Net rushing yards 21 yards is crazy. That is wild Sarc left no doubt on the eight-plus minute drive with the running plays that work for Texas consistently freakin exciting. Yeah, it was I mean, that's all Kentucky's one games. It's time with possession. Yeah They had none in the first half. None. Yeah, that was kind of reminiscent of the end Alabama last year Those two like drive stick out is finishing. Yeah, so Kentucky ran 22 plays in the first half 22 plays for 98 yards. There were six fumbles five Kentucky We got our first muff punt Dude bold man, look just as scary as I imagine he called it fair catch the one time We needed him to return the punt. I was like dude. What is going on, man? Bolden is the Joker in the dude. He's a blast, man. He just like you really feel alive I don't always need his kind of fun He keeps you on your heels, dude. Oh, yeah, he literally way fair catch I was like dude the one time you're not surrounded by eight enemy players Also made an amazing move stiff-arming a guy on the run on that crosser and then he fumbled out of bounds. Mm That's two that's two of the six fumbles. We asked my tool. It was too. It was so that was so insane Blue was carrying the ball in the wrong arm a few times too Was on the right hash and had it in his left I don't know if you guys have noticed it throughout the season though. I do feel it's like Most there there are a lot of teams coaching pull get the ball out knock the ball out punch the ball out I'm just I feel like I've seen far more of it maybe because we have backs that are vulnerable to it Yeah, I've I've just been looking out for it more but I do feel like there there are people who come after the ball every time But once you have a reputation of it at this point I mean, there are people who will try to strip you before they even try to tackle you. So yes Uh, he's a target Yeah, all right for keep going wait one second paul and uh for we keep going guys. Let's hear a word from david McClellan. His email is also in the description below All right catch up on some of your chats paul were you able to hold your thought? Uh It wasn't that good Okay I believe it would I believe it was gonna be awesome How many sex does more have now and stay in school or move to outside linebacker full-time next year? I will you guys answer that question. I'll look up his stats. Yep to three Yeah, somewhere around there. Let me see in school or move to oline I don't understand the choice Stay in school or move to oline backer or maybe it stands cool and moved out and Okay, all right. I'm being literalistic I would come back I mean that's that's my opinion Any player that has eligibility that's starting and playing and just needs a little bit more time to develop I mean, this is his first year playing playing at this level He's coming on on the back half of it I would keep him as an edge though. I mean Our our so our outside linebacker positions one is a true off the ball linebacker, right? And one is a effectively an edge player about 70 percent of the time at least in our our defense I would keep him there he and simmons In a rotation along with burk and vossek I I like the look of that edge room Our edge play Especially the last few weeks And led by I'll say led by trade more but the fact that he stood out stands out in general We can win with this. I mean I say win with it It's it's so many little things that are subtle if you go back and study and you watch The way they're playing is the reason why I'm not as concerned about maybe the p&m game as I should like the consistency with which That it just have played and played discipline that the way that our that our defensive line is Disrupted has been great Situationally Like that fourth in one plate like when the guys know what what they're doing It's they're right they're in the right spots even on the tricky stuff even on the boots even on all those things They're right. They're always in the right position and that's the difference in a lot of games of Are you going to give up the easy? Five yard out on the roll or on the boot or you're just going to but didn't you have a guy who's on the uphill shoulder We have a guy who's who's playing the cutback We have a guy who's flashing and making sure they're spilling and getting under the blockers They're they're doing all the little things that need to be done to help guys like Anthony. He'll go get in tax um So that good consistent discipline play That's how we get those first and downs first and second downs where we get teams behind the chains And then we get to tee off on third day. So It's it's something that seems it kind of flies into the radar Sorel has has done the same thing and stepping up and playing well. I think our I think our edges go Run game and in the passing game. I've just Man, it's it's been it's it's been fun to watch because we have not been able to Enjoy that. I would say we're not used to it. We're not used to it Yeah, three and a half sacks right now for train more to answer that question Wow, and we were talking about here with how he had zero through what his first seven first say it comes in comes in bunches It does. It seems like he's really figured it out really since vandy. You've started seeing him make a lot of plays That rushing drive was borderline erotic. Absolutely Especially when we needed it right there. Yeah, I'll say this too about texas's edges and what pikowski asked him to do So there are teams where you can rack up stats Because they just fly their edges upfield and you'll you'll blunder into a sack sometimes right but They get run on They get misdirection. You know, they like you can you can do draws You can do shop like all sorts of different stuff to exploit that And it doesn't show up as like against you on your stat sheet as the edge You know, you're still finished the year with nine sacks or whatever But people ran all over you people You know, did all sorts of stuff to exploit you texas plays pretty honest on the edge like We are not past first take off up the field on Second and seven like that's not a thing that we do. So You know, we bring it third and 11. Yeah, those guys are coming But you know, they're not bringing it like it's a pass rush on an honest down hoping to catch someone so I think that's a part of it too is Understanding when you can let it go situationally game context and then also what your responsibilities are so yeah If we're playing marsall reed. I'm not after watching what he did Playing that boot. I'm not real worried about Yeah, that's the first thing I thought whenever I saw that I was like marsall reed That's why yeah, I was projecting that as well In your years of watching texas football, would you guys say that this was the most physically dominant win during the sark era? Yeah I mean, it's hard for me to overlook Alabama last year when you just talk about relative to the competition. Yeah um An expectation That one still stands out, but yes, if you're just talking scc player regardless of the opponent I mean, I I said our line they did everything you could ask them to do tonight Um, I don't know how many sacks we gave up or quit and gave himself Uh, but I I didn't see that on my timeline today And I don't remember seeing it today in today's game outside of quimby and hurt I really don't recall anyone saying anything about pressure about line about protection I mean everything was available to them to us today both in the passing game and in the running game um Yeah, there was one fourth in short. I wish we could have back because we ran a screen and quin had to kill the ball So he couldn't have even extended if we wanted to but beyond Killing that drive on that play. I feel like everything was executed as clean as you want it And this is against the team that You know everyone says hey their defense is what's going to keep them in the game their defense is what's given everyone else trouble They've had close games against everybody. Um, so Yeah, I'm proud of this one for sure and in this season. I would say This has to be the one of the most physical especially most physically complete games by our offensive line Yep Yes, it's encouraging because Kentucky and certainly my write-ups the buildup was hey These guys don't have the quarterback play. They don't have some of the flash but In in the trenches, they can hang with anybody in the scc And that's why they played up when they play up they beat all miss That's why they can lose their Georgia by one point Um, that's why they can you know hang with ten to see for four quarters. So you know texas I thought kentucky played hard. I didn't you know, I don't think I don't think those guys quit And texas brought it to them. So that's encouraging that should make texas fans feel good headed into college station Welcome to the scc walkouts Yeah, it kentucky not scc ready by the logic everyone used against us Whenever we lost a Georgia. We are not scc ready. So whoever lost us is therefore not scc ready Any concern for our linebackers drifting out of their run fits with some regularity Well We saw that in the first play of their game of the game With lafau ran to the wrong gap, but you know what? We started firing guys down field and we're just saying play gaps play play holes, right? Like you've got this you've got this. I've got this And I thought actually we did a much better job. Um, and that's why we started inflicting some of those negative plays as well Yeah, kentucky wasn't I mean they're not the zone team who's gonna Have the backs they're gonna have to try to find the hole And and hit you with that. And so it was definitely I think once we realized like Just go hit your gaps. Just go play your gap. You don't have to search for anything It became pretty straightforward. I mean there was nowhere to run Um, what I do appreciate too is we do a good job of preventing backs from bouncing out Our ends even when you think they're kind of caught inside a little bit They keep their hands and they're still able to shed and get off those locks Um and keep backs bottled up So Yeah, usually if people have those types of runs against us It's between the tackles or just off tackle or just off guard Um, and it's just amidst fit by alignment It's not usually just someone just driving us off the ball or driving us down the field. So Still something we can coach on and there's usually a few a game and they never seem to uh Hurt us too terribly. So, you know, they're going to keep happening though. So we just got to Keep playing I mean truthfully they had two plays that hurt us And I say hurt relatively because they scored seven points on our defense. Right. I mean that's pretty high standard But we blew a coverage like literally didn't cover jimory macklin Uh, it happens I saw him did that but i'm not going to say anything until we go back and watch film See I looked at it and I wasn't sure I Do you think it was Muhammad? No, um, was it mcdonald? Out of mcdonald. Okay. Well, he made up. He made out lord You're about two plays where I saw mcdonald was out of place. Yeah, man I saw that on the little uh settle throw in the middle of the field against our zone We went out to the boundary and moat Muhammad was fussing at him like what are you doing? But uh, so that play and then jude baron You have just do your job. Right coaches tell you jude baron is in single coverage with brown who whatever you want to say about that guy He can fly. Yeah, baron is peeking in thinking that there's going to be an out breaking route He's going to plant and go grab the ball And no, he just carried him up the sideline and caught it on him And that was that was the traditional like when they're in film session. He's going to stop it and be like jude Just do your job, man. Yep, let the game come to you. You can't just go steal the thought um He was like And what's funny. It was a great and decisive throw that ball was never going inside. I mean their quarterback had a long I mean, I mean he drew his arm back like yeah, you saw a shoulder Yeah, you saw a shoulder tip that ball. So he was guessing that to where even in spite of what he saw the quarterback do He was already leaked inside jilani mcdonald down we got to talk about that interception the athleticism and body control of that Ridiculous to be that big and that athletic is insane man I bet he can run a five six five seven forty Oh easily dude. He'd probably beat me in the race. Be my old close. It'd be close, but I think he's all right Yeah, the interception was absolutely sick I love it from the execution standpoint. I mean there are certain things I remember being coached to do as a player and when the game time comes it's just like You do step one, but then you you don't really fully execute step two He got his hands on the receivers, but then he opens his shoulders up And really you're supposed to open up and get your eyes back to see what receivers coming back towards you So you can just be in position to make that kind of play the ball was released sooner than I thought Maybe not necessarily should have been but definitely sooner than he had a chance to get in position But as soon as he turned his shoulders He saw the ball was released and he was just going to go do his job. Anyway and made the great play like that's I love it when it works out that way because it's not supposed to It's just not supposed to but he had the athleticism to make it great So man, that was a great play athleticism recognition finished the play We need a guy in our corner if we buy a house. He's going to finish the play for you That guy gave win slow. You could reach him at 832 557 1095 He's not doing a 5 7 40 in the world of mortgages This dude to 425 And it's not hand timing like your coach in high school Who tried to make you feel good about yourself and gave you that little extra two tents Now this is electronic time, baby. This is fat f at Not my kind of fat when I eat ruffles all day watching texas football Uh, hey, here's why you want to call gave over 20 years of the industry really sharp at what he does Uh has a law degree former national merit scholar, of course a ut fanatic just like all of us He's the guy who's going to take care of us and take care of you. Give him a call 832 557 1095 I didn't think about that poll. Yeah, technically he could have also given me a bump on that 5 7 So that's even probably more depressing That it sounds like oh, yeah, you know, he didn't help you out. Did he? Yeah, I definitely wasn't laser Definitely wasn't laser time there Auburn might be pretty decent if they had a quarterback That's a game. I'm excited to watch. Is it on now? Uh, no idea. I'm stuck with you guys. I have no idea. I'm out in the wider world Is it on i'm watching bama? bamazon I want to see I want to see um, you know, i have to watch this part right now, please Our potential scc championship game opponent I want to see them tonight against an elite defense And elite defense. We have a lot about an elite defense Up there and uh, Norman. So I definitely want to see bama putting that dude The national media if you blitz a lot you're elite Like that's they get so true like with the oh you defense. They're like elite elite elite. It's like no They just blitz a lot. Hey, baby Auburn's got the ball opening possession Peyton thorne is three of four for 40 yards And they are down in agi territory. I'm pulling it up. I want to make sure ball on the a and m two second goal Do we want him to win or lose? I want them to win comfortably. I want them to be fat and happy Feeling good about themselves. So next your Aggies are more dangerous Yeah, I feel like yeah, I feel like Riding high Aggies is what we want We want them to win by like 30 points and so they come in just taking they're the best Let's get the uh insightful commentary of our august guest who has joined us What's up Hey, man, just get back from bleacher reform and people are going crazy over there. It's crazy, man Uh, hey, man. I want the Aggies to win. I wanted to win I want this game to mean something next week, man I want texas a and m to be able to Have the opportunity to to beat us next week and go to the championship game and I want us to have the opportunity to do the same thing Um I know it sounds crazy for texas fans to say that they want texas a and m to win But I want us just to uh make them cry next week when we bounced him out of this. Yeah, it's gonna That's what I want man. You know, I want the best against the best and it is what it is But it is look man if they lose today. I'm still happy and so it is what it is What would hurt a and m more? And I think it would do let them get close and taste it like they're this close. That's the end to take it I think it's better No, because they'll find excuses. I want to know I don't care if they win or lose today But I would I would be I would be happy if they're beating themselves up all this week And then we beat them again next week The stakes are already there for me. I don't know if they're going to lose next week like that's just loose Yeah, that's just how I feel about it Um Look them getting booed off the ball Oh, yeah, how many you watch the game? I don't want to get I don't want to jump the gun. I want to enjoy the win But one of the things you need to do when you play a rival particularly on the road is do some unasymmetrical unexpected things early I think we start off five wide Quarterback draw when yours over and over until they stop it. Yeah They'll stop it immediately palm it I can are you laughing at how you know Paul Paul. We don't gotta be wack coming through them indoors, man. We don't got be wack coming through them indoors, baby I'll never see it coming They won't see it coming. They won't see it coming I am interested, right? I don't I know lucy was saying that a and m has stuff in the bag that they've been working on for a couple weeks I know that we would have to have stuff in the bag technically Um It's just all that stuff didn't matter like once the game It matters dude Like giving giving quince wide open shots is that I think that's gonna matter man. They have a good We do need to maximize on script quin early in that game. Yeah, that's every game But yeah, like I feel like yeah, sark can scheme up like three wide open touchdowns. I'm gonna take those dude Feel strong about it Oh man sark's finally given to the fans and put in an arch package Yeah They want a package where he runs the ball and then only throws deep posts. I was gonna say Yeah We can put him at running back and he can screen out and we can throw it to him behind And he throws it Yeah, so he can throw deep for us We can talk lee and boy and get liberty hills playbook That's true Did you guys uh, what do you guys think of gold and getting like hyper targeted? I love that man sark doesn't really force it like that to one guy and I liked when he was doing that earlier So first half he finishes with five catches for 85 yards He said he's pulling a cop here, right? Yeah Second half one catch one yard. That's sark though, dude Like it's like we're never really consistent throughout a whole it's so weird how that happens That's all for me seven times. Yeah. Yeah, and like average five yards of carry on there, man Hey, man tray wasner tray wasner He's gonna make sark has some difficult conversations next year when him and Baxter in that room together because Trey's looking great, man. He like he gets skinny at the right moment You know, he he like doesn't take big hits Uh, he's just good man. He's just all around great back, man. I love Trey. Love him He looked Dude, I'm telling he looked like Adrian Peterson out there today And it made no sense I did not see that coming at all though. We were just gonna be able to run it down the throats like that And the guy that we were like hey put him in because we trust him, you know, like he's getting that So blue copped it up and then Jared Gibson copped it up because we want to do We saw that we were moving them line of scrimmage. Yeah, all right. Let's put in Gibson. Let's run gap And we're gonna power it down the and then he puts it on the ground You're like get him out of there and they're like our tray. We know you're not going to mess this up I don't believe Trey wisener's 200 pounds No, I don't need that. He's got to be about 210 215 man. He's got to be 80 I think he's oh no, I think he's like 185. I don't I don't you guys think so Yeah, okay Drew, what's thinking my bet? Is he 180 190? Do you think I've been a little bit exaggerating there? But I think he's below his listed weight Yeah, he's yeah He looks like you might be that is best 193. Okay. Okay. That's very precise Linebackers know dude when they're lining up across the line. They're like His legs Because there's a it's not just his explosive. There's a certain amount of strength He has in his legs and in his lower body because the way he's able to kind of move I'm gonna say move the pile, but to just get those extra gritty yards If you're if you're if you're buck 83 You just don't have that type of strength and just no no he has to be That muscle has to weigh a bit more than just just that I think he He's in the 190 somewhere Hey, he's pretty specific 193 to be Linebackers. They gotta know because they like it. He bigger than me I'm actually walked by tray wise. There are a few times like to do he doesn't look like a small player like these guys are They don't I mean he may look small Mix it everyone else in the field, but he plays big now Yeah, he's he's a big he plays big man. He plays bigger than his size for sure I love just just yeah for to be like, hey, man. We need you to run this game out Then that matters to coaches man like to know that he can do that Uh, that's important for Trey Going but think about every time you've seen Trey play in a Texas uniform though. Yeah, he's this is the same player He's just seeing the game cleaner than he probably ever has but he's always fought through those last few yards He's always made guys miss and just made it been tough This is who he's consistently been kind of the same way I felt about Jonathan Brooks different completely different back But every time you saw Jonathan Brooks carry the ball prior to actually being the guy you're like, man This guy looks like he could be good if he if he gave him more carries and then Very wise there's just continued to just be consistent protect the football get all the gritty yards You don't feel like he's leaving much meat on the bone. Um, just based on what what the runs are blocked for That's what's up Uh, let's talk about that that Quinn passed to home. That was also pretty sick. Oh, yeah That was a like That was like classic cliche great throw great catch Independable Right That seam route to the tight end if you throw it up high And you've got a six foot five tight end and you throw the right ball It can't really it can't be defended Right You had to have done your work earlier and like jam the tight end at the line of scrimmage, right? Otherwise, that's just a touchdown He had an intermediate pass like a couple I think before right a couple of plays before to I can't remember if it was bond or not, but that looked like the old school Quinn You know, we're like where's his intermediate passing this season that past he made look like that I thought Quinn in the first half looks composed calm Yeah, I thought the offensive line kept him safe. I thought I mean I thought he looked great in the first half Uh, he made really nice throws throws. They were like there That's what we've been missing, you know, and uh, and he looks calm and everything and most importantly decisive right and them is Their defensive line moves guys off the ball and they they play a lot of man and blitz So you got to you got to know where you're going and get it there fast I thought quin did that this week Um, it was a lot of positive stuff, especially projecting towards next week. I I really like quin on the first half it felt like Sarks priority for quin was like regardless of the looks the defense is giving We're just going to protect them the priority or protect quin Um, don't let him get antsy. Don't let him get to the point where he doesn't know where he's going with the ball Like give him time. It'll give him time to sort through the defense sort through the looks They're giving and just get the ball out to who he's supposed to get it out to He just he just wasn't under any duress and wide-eyed At any point early in the game and I think that's you know, we talk about hey get quin and the rhythm and throwing the ball Throwing the ball. I think is the part i'm not i'm less concerned about I think getting him into rhythm or just into a place where he feels confident and recognizing what the defense is throwing at him I think that's what a difference was today. I feel he just had time early and time to sort out everything He just yeah, he did not have any stress early on in that guy Pretty clear. Isaiah bond was out there as a decoy. Yep No, I agree Sounds like his ankle regressed maybe in practice this week Yeah, that was a bummer Yeah Between them and more but to not have it him and more out there Don't look all right in the first half at least. I can't even judge this. I can have because it was so weird fumble it can't even But more dealing with the injuries so bold and got more of a play there Was it bond that almost had that nice catch in the end zone? It was on the fade ball wasn't it? Yeah, that was bond, right? That was fine. Yeah, that was They allowed some contact Yeah, yeah, that was the one. Yeah, that's the one As long as they're consistent throughout the game. I don't care as long as you call it straight Like if everyone can play then good if it starts being one-sided, that's when I have issues with it. Yep I know fans were not happy early in the game Oh, look at these so trained it up at 6.1 Blue at 6.4 Yeah, I mean That's pretty nuts dude One carry coughed it up and they're like out. Yeah, yeah back to the back of the clock You rush for 250 Your longest run is 21 yards. That means you're consistent, dude That means you're consistent six five six yards of pop man. Yeah, I love it I love it It was yeah, it was so strange because we haven't been that consistent. I just did not see that coming. I didn't either And it felt good A behomer, you know, so this is something that we had to talk about this morning, right? Is we wanted to see texas go into a gritty game, right? And so this game was a 17 point win But it was still a gritty game, right? So, you know, so this was a comfortable win for texas, you know, so it went about 17 points But it still was a win that texas had to fight for all into the fourth quarter So I actually liked them getting tested here for the entire game and when the game was on the ropes what it's start dude He ran the ball. He trusted us off mr Line, you know a 15 play drive here right to shut down the game, you know last week against arkansas a 14 play drive Well, we ran the ball to shut down the game and then against florida We had the game one, but a 15 play drive to end the game Right, and it's all running the ball. And so it just showed us how physical texas is man. So Um, look I like our shots next week, man I I love with sark did here in the second half once quen got rattled. He just said, all right quen calm down trade coming here and do your thing Let's run the ball down there throat this be physical unless it's in this thing, man So beautiful, uh, you know, just close down to the game Yeah, and you get a ton of coaching points this week like they know they didn't play perfect But we were also never threatened the same thing as like vander built and even arkansas fans get nervous Like there was no point during any of those games where we were going to lose Yeah, they got a little weird, but I like that there's tons of stuff To talk about and focus on going into this week Playing a name, but I guess just missed their field goal, huh? Oh did This is the satisfaction did I can't wait to get a gatewatch in here and it's like They're gonna lose this game. I don't want them to lose Hey, I'm fine with them losing Man, I want to know I want the height of cruelty. I want them to like Be so close to their first sec and then we can take it from That feels that feels stronger because if you you give them a week to cope that they're not going to be in the championship I want I want it at the at the pinnacle there to take it. We'll talk about pentacles and letdowns You're an old miss fan. Oh You just had the big win No, it's brutal. You have a buy To get healthy to prep. You know florida's your last big remaining obstacle And you're still old miss you're still nine and three and it didn't matter that you rolled out the checkbook And you bought all these dudes who and they're all like coming together in jacks and dartas started 45 games and You know, you got all these guys And you just still go nine and three and you're not going to make the play off See because that that ends up being more reflective of kiffen right because kiffen's our human could always be Yeah, it could be like I was always old miss and I didn't have the resources or the talent or whatever It's like dude. You had all the advantages versus And and still you didn't do that's just purely on coaching So that's even a different he can't even lie to himself and be like it's because i'm out gun versus Georgia, which is true You know, they've had a lot of people outgun. They had good players old players. They had yeah NFL guys and still man It says lane being lane. I mean that's that's lane kiffen Right like he's gonna always lose games that he should win He's never had a signature win until this year. He finally got a signature win and you know like last week Right. And so he finally gets it. We're like maybe lane is turning the corner And then he turns back to lane again this week, right? So it just that's just that's just lame and he's he's him Right. I think that's what stands out though about this Texas team versus every other team in the SEC this year is We have we haven't lost to the team for supposed to be you know, yes, we're supposed to beat Georgia But if you're gonna lose to a team That would have been the team to lose to we didn't lose to arkansas We didn't look we didn't lose these games if old miss would just would have won the games that they should have won Yeah You would have the district they will miss lost to this kentucky team at home They threw the post touchdown oberin. Sorry about that. Oh, are you serious? They threw like a 63 yarder on them. Are you serious? Good. Oh my god. Hey, you're you're drew. I'm sorry for interrupting. You're a hunter. You're right. We didn't drop mrs Old miss lost to the same kentucky team at home. Yeah, it did Happened if you just beat win the game just but you can't drop these games Texas has not dropped a game like that this year They didn't lose to arkansas. They didn't lose to vandy I mean all these teams that everyone's saying hey, they have a big win They lost the teams that we beaten that's true And well, and even if it wasn't comfortable, we still beaten them. We just haven't lost any games. We weren't supposed to That that georgi game felt Hulks dude georgi that their defense came out on fire. That was the anomaly. That's not what georgi is That's why I was so frustrating doing analysis like me and paul do We're like we're telling you guys georgia is a pretty weird team and they come out and have worn a good game And but as soon as that ended I was like they're gonna drop another game. They're too inconsistent I wonder how much that last drive helps us in recruiting our big all-iron visitor. So michael vassusi Oh use uh top commit offensive lineman offensive tackle Is out as on campus at texas and I believe he will be at a and m next week as well To watch that game. So I guess be on the lookout for a possible flip to texas or texas a and m or something along that Lines and that would be a really big get façuzi's a good player That's funny man. He's a nerd on lore. It's already acres. What's up, man? Oh, you just lost a fumble their collapse is funny Dude, they're gonna be five and seven. It's five and 17 man. They might be LSU They might be LSU They're gonna score. Well LSU lets everybody score but still yeah, so i'm saying They might they they might be LSU and go six and six and get the bowl win But I'm able you know like yeah, who knows five and 17. That's a five. How many wins do they have right now? Four a five they got five wins. Oh, you asked five Yeah, they have to win one of these to get ball eligible and they ain't beating Alabama tonight Yeah, and yeah LSU's gonna beat him next week. Oh, no, man. This elite defense they have That was driving me nuts when we were doing the preview We did get a four star defensive tackle joseph mabachu. Yeah, and bachu. Yeah, he's he's legit Nice. Yeah. Yeah, we got him today and uh just started playing full blog. What this year? Yeah, man. You can see incredible athlete good frame and he's gonna be put on a lot of weight Um, well six five two ninety already and he's only Yeah, six five two ninety play football for one year and everybody wants him in the country. He's he's great man Yeah, the upside very explosive very explosive there And another Georgia player, right? So we're recruiting these High density southern regions too to to be able to play SEC ball the nationalization of recruiting is crazy. It is Yeah Well, you just man with nil man because what what was the on three report today? It was like in bachu's in meetings with the texas staff and new could be coming later No, like and they reported that that's not like behind the scene stuff. They're like under wood, right? So he got an offer from LSU. What's your best and final? With his attorneys plural Yeah, I know you hired an attorney right when you were you signed your national area intent Um I had my high school coach standing over my shoulder. We didn't even read it. It was just like happy to slide I don't remember reading the thing It's like we never got mad though drew like when you're on campus and you see one of your teammates like driving a Ferrari and be like Where did that come does that that never got to you? No, I didn't see any Ferraris Um, no, no Dude color Are you just being technical that it wasn't a Ferrari? Well, I I didn't there was so there was a guy on my team who had an escalator brand. No, I'm sorry He had a link in that it was clean too, but yeah, what color It was black. I think I know you're talking about He was he was my host so when I came in I was like, oh damn bro, like this what we doing? But uh, yeah, he was on one like that everybody else they they had to you know It was you know, we all had to get it differently Yeah, thank it at a different time The way you know things have changed is when drew was in college like uh, an older alum like me Might be like, hey, I'm gonna get this guy's bill and just pay his waiter He's in for like a $41 meal and he's like do we have to report this? So I don't I don't know Dude then the new and I'll escape is crazy because like like I said We're getting towards the end of the cycle and you know eric or just our report like hey random florida player We've never heard of is interested You know, and so it's like it's just a trip now man to kind of the new game And I it's gonna be interesting with the cap when when does the cap come into play next? Now and theoretically Yeah, the cap's gonna happen for real. Well, yeah, but no like on the books. They're having like yeah next next year They're gonna have next year or two years they're gonna have a cap but the cap is no cap as the kids say Yeah, but I know it's like 18 to 18 to 22 million or something like that But it's up in the fell right like you may have to implement a draft Uh, but there's gonna there's gonna be whole new opportunity man because now we don't have Uh, you know all the channels and stuff do like the team management portion of the nfl We didn't have that in cfb now. We're actually gonna have like the concept of cap and all that But it doesn't matter because it's not a draft process If you can draft then you can cap because I I pick you and there's nothing you can do It's true Now it doesn't matter because I can they can go anywhere in the school so any alum can pay them whatever They're just they're picking random Concepts within the nfl structure that they want to adopt and not only in tip of it is just hey We don't want anyone going over this it's not to actually Implement a system that works. It's just to limit the what's on paper above board it It they're gonna have to keep tweaking it or just go ahead. They're gonna keep making these Two-yard gains instead of just saying hey, you know what let's just take a step back and just fix it once and for all It's just it's not doing enough Yeah, no part of nfl free agency Has where you can transfer to a school get paid And then a month in you're like, I'm sad here And then you transfer back out in the spring to somewhere else like that's that's not a feature of when you sign your contract for the giants Yeah, what's the word? I'm facusi no idea, but Stay locked in to inside texas because i'm sure justin will have no it's justin or charlie Or eric wapsman notes on facusi after he leaves But when they're on campus you let them do their thing and hang out and have whatever conversations they need to have That's crazy You ever play a video game? Well, I just I just saw ryan williams like a play and it just makes me think on video games if you guys have played on i'm like playing football ncaa When the ball is in the air, there's always The receiver seems like speed up just to get to the ball right before it gets there like an additional burst just to get to the ball and extend his arms out It's like I see ryan williams Already have separation and then just get a little bit more right before the ball gets there Like you can lead a receiver like that and it just you can really throw him open this dude is i'm scouting for for for scc championship game right now and uh He's sick. I saw a game where I don't know how many receivers did this to you drew, but when they catch it do a pirouette Drop down Hands go like this over his head and then he takes off running up this high five Like if you saw it in a movie you'd be like this is stupid. Yeah, exactly Dude, he did he did two of those plays in that game He had the one where he bobbled it six times and twisted one and caught it And uh, I was talking to an alabama friend and he was like dude. What's crazy is how much more ceiling he has And i'm like dude to act like that dude has more stealing. It's just mind boggling Well, like he's never touched a weight Dude, it's like it's crazy to be that good and be like yeah, he still has years of development. It's like now man He's 18 and could legit like go to the league he's 18. Is he herpes and like prison pushups? Yeah Yeah, maybe i need to start doing that. Yeah, he's sick man Dude, yeah Yeah, watching bama's gonna be a trip man. I haven't watched him since vander belt honestly Well, I don't have a choice in my wife's from alabama's. I gotta watch him every freaking weekend. So Yeah, how do they live? Yeah, you know They're good Are we running jail in milro this game? Yes Yeah, that's true. That's true Right. Yeah, but you're thinking about alabama. They can't cover people on the bat at all at all They can um, and I think texas defense can kind of wrangle milro enough I think let's say wrangle them all together. I think I think texas has the athletes wrangling enough You know what i'm saying? He's just electric man. Uh, it's just his his short passes, you know, like I don't think they're you know as good as they should be at this level right now But this deball is just straight amaze man. Uh, but he has a superman power man. He's super empowered his legs All right, and so if texas, you know could just wrangle him You know, so that's the key but texas has to get your a&m first and then if they do, you know, I think alabama gets passed You know, um, you know The uh the uh team up north today and then next week against Auburn and be very interested, especially since Auburn is beating him You know now, but that's always a tricky game But you know milro just has a superman power man. His legs are just awesome I mean, he's he's just great at that man and it's it's actually planted since it's a middle school year So here's what is now Did uh pen state end up winning? Uh, let me see. I have no idea I know, uh, it's one by a point At middle school, uh, yes, that's good A point Arizona state beat by you Colorado lost to Kansas and your standards apparently pushed an official. Oh, did he? That's what they're saying come on. She door Internet headlines are super reliable. So I know that Kansas beat them soundly, right? They beat him pretty good too Man, I know the execs are pissed How are they kindly come on? well Why you lost I thought Colorado still plays against Arizona state Yeah, the states look pretty good. That's what's weird too. Yeah, they look really good Colorado They end with Let's see. I got him right here. They end against, um, they got okie state next week Marcell reeds look quarterback and pretty well here fellas Like as far as like knowing what he's supposed to do like extending the play not running Like Marcell reads he may he's far improved from South Carolina He looked good last week in their little fcs game too And he threw a pick as soon as I said that that's it. Thank you. Jeez I'm gonna keep complimenting it They do this during our game. Yeah, that's Literally Homer's like he looks great. He looks great pick there. It was uh, oh, it's Thompson. Huh? Yeah, here's the replay. Oh, bro. Oh Jerry Thompson got it. Yeah Well, hey, go ahead bug Um, yeah, I need to keep compliment and read man because uh, that's good stuff He's bought every 10 for 48 yards in a pick shut up conner Dude, did you when you watch the very South Carolina man Not good. He's like mora. He's aware of his concepts like he's looking at the right South Carolina as a team. You don't want to get behind on dude. They're a huge two man That's a scary team like simon rocket sanders Sellers like that's a huge team of guys They're huge and their edges and their interior d line can pass rush like maniacs If you fall behind and you have to pass predictably, they will mess you up. Exactly physical team too, man I don't know my execs Everybody Every national talking head has hyped up fixes at a and m next week And they're not hyping it up because the rivalry the rivalry actually matters like it does to us, right? They're hyping it up because of the playoff implications and Now that the playoff implications are Looking bleak at least early out there I just have you watched auburn play this year drew. Oh, yeah. Okay. Okay. Hey, the game is not Make no mistake. I know I know I know very well. The game is parking over. They are the Aggies of Alabama It's just the the assumption that oh, yeah A&M's it's going to roll into Auburn and We'll be looking. We can't wait to watch Texas A&M in Texas play No, man. This was not going to be Even against Auburn like this was not going to be a roller game for them on the road. True Yeah, this is what's their record. What's Auburn's record in conference six? They're one in five in conference, man Yep, but the problem with it is standpoint. Yeah, they're not that far from A&M And that's where that's why this committee bothers me and people joke with me on the forums Because they're like, oh, you think like a Vegas handicapper should be on the committee I'm like, yeah, actually a Vegas handicapper would be very helpful for those people Yeah, people that put their money where their mouth is and have real-world consequences for being wrong Well, and and also people really struggle with the idea of differentiating between Non top 25 teams because the thought is internet has taught us Everything's either amazing or garbage. Yeah, there's nothing in between. There's no gradations, right? And so What people struggle with is well, it's not a top 25 team. What top 25 teams have you beaten? Yeah, first of all top 25's arbitrary I mean 14 through 30 are very similar football teams. Correct. There's a huge difference in that from first to 25th There's a massive there's a massive difference between the 30th football team in the country, Auburn, Florida And number 87 Yeah, Michigan state And people act like because they have the same record These are comparable wins and it's like Auburn on a neutral field against Michigan state is a double digit favor So like people don't know how to line this stuff up. We were talking about that on pregame That is where a giga sky can be helpful Well, we need to rank Every team like s&p like you need to know one through 133 like this whole top 25 thing is silly have to adopt tranches just like march madness does Right. They're like, hey, Texas has is six and one against top 100 teams. Yeah uh Iona You know, they might play in a small conference, but they played noncon and they're three and one against top 50 teams Well, we were talking about I heard somebody say That Texas and indiana are the same thing. They haven't been to one top 25 And if you look Texas is 38th in strength of schedule and uh, indiana's 106th So to act like these are the same thing and if you say Exactly what I just described. Yeah, it's like Texas has beat a ton of 40th in the country teams That's a huge difference people don't understand that if you play arkansas Vanderbilt, florida and kentucky in succession Yeah All right teams power ranked around 30s and 40s Yeah, if you're an elite team, you have a 40 45 percent chance of going for an o against that sleep Yeah, that's just math okay if you play a bunch of 90th ranked teams power rated teams The same elite team has a 90 91 percent chance of going undefeated. Yeah Yeah, we just we've lost all scale the top 25 thing is silly We needed everyone just needs to be ranked and there needs however metric we can figure it out But they're going to tell us we haven't played anybody when next week. They're gonna say we still hadn't beat anybody They don't know The goalposts keep moving. You know, it's just it's going to keep happening. That's just being a texas fan, man They'll the day they give us our flowers. I'll be absolutely shocked because it's never gonna happen Good blood my mind. Y'all ready to get out of here any final thoughts or anything? Good man. Are you guys ready to get a hate watch in? I know I am. Hey, I'm ready. I hate watching drink some uh some bourbon Yeah Look this game wasn't like beautiful. It wasn't a a piece of artistry Oline dominated defense dominated. Exactly. I'll take it. The things that travel two things that travel, man All right fans. Thank you drew paul nick. Thank y'all and hook them You You You (upbeat music)
Let's discuss the Texas performance vs the Kentucky Wildcats.
