good afternoon everyone is the pre-game show before Texas takes on Kentucky I'm Texas Homer here with the Lando show and Nino's corner we're just gonna talk hang out we're also been watching kind of the games going on Florida Old Miss Indiana Ohio State some interesting games going on and then of course our game coming up in about an hour until then we're just gonna hang out throw your comments in the chat and we're just gonna chill and talk football all right guys first things first how you feeling for who you got a Lando I was gonna say if y'all notice any glitter on my nails my daughter just decided to paint all though so apparently I'm feeling fabulous today I'm hoping after the way that things went on the front the front nine this morning out in weather for Texas that will continue that trend to be feeling good here in about four hours as well so I'm feeling good man cool man me I'm always nervous before games I don't know why I get this little nervous energy man so we'll see you man I think Texas should win this game and I don't think it should be too hard but you know it's a great defense over there man I like my stokes is good you know saying I'm just I'm just I'm just worried about our team until it's over you know I'm saying this is what it is man yep I have a less this year than last year last year I thought we were gonna lose every game you know before you played it just from the past because we could lose any game but this year I haven't felt that way I felt really calm this week which also from like the better fan syndrome you're like why do I feel so calm but I just with the Kentucky offense man there's just not a lot going on there you put it that bad of an offense versus the number one defense in the country I don't really know besides global meltdown you know I don't really know how you lose this one with a 21-point spread but speaking of losing somebody we just lost the one and only Nick dude there the one way you could lose it is to turn the football over in your own territory three times like you did in the first half against Georgia that's that's definitely one formula you know and I touched on it last night I posted the project a little bit later things some things caught up to me this week but the Georgia game man it's the defense played that you got you got the same product the same dominant defensive effort that that we've seen all year long in that game as well they had a championship level performance they're just only so there's so many things that you can do when you're consistently put in those types of situations right Georgia had to amass 64 yards to score their first 20 points against us so that was the formula that was ultimately enough right there but the key today for Texas is simple for me just because of the reasons that you just mentioned and it's take care of the football and your defense is going to keep them out of the paint right it's just what they do it's not something that Kentucky has done they haven't scored 20 points against the SEC opponent all year so there's no reason that changes today we lost you Nick yeah man sorry about that man I don't know what happened they scheming up against us today they scheming up against me that'll be I think I agree the only thing would be offensive stalling yeah and it's interesting right we're not a great home team for whatever reason so that I'm really interested to watch us at home there's kind of a weird we're generally better on the road which is a flip of what it should be so that's always kind of interesting to me I want to pay attention to us at home I don't know why that phenomenon occurs what do you think whenever you're playing baseball and stuff do you if you're struggling at home what do you think that is you're like trying to please the fans too much like what what do you think that is could be it could be some of that yeah and so that's the thing that we kind of touched on behind the scenes before the show started it's a man I'm telling you that just you're you're instinctive behaviors right whenever you're pushed put into hostile environments or stressful situations man I'm telling you there's something primitive in there that we still even as analysts of this sport and for me like just the sports psychology guy that that tried as best as I can and possibly convey the human element of sport that's involved here and so when you're in a hostile environment all of your senses are heightened because of it's a it's a it's a subconscious threat that your brain is processing and trying to separate right from like their reality or I guess physical danger and psychological danger and so the teams that are most well prepared and the most I guess confident right in those that walk into those environments that that that energy can go both ways and so just as far as though like what you're saying there is an element of being too comfortable right you're like okay maybe maybe some overconfidence over comfort to where you you almost not sleep walk but it's just like okay it's like another day at the office because you're in your environment right you're those senses aren't heightened so if you don't start fast you can put you be put into a an old situation and then all of a sudden everybody's trying to do too much and it's just like you're playing catch up the hole for four quarters and as we know a man with what seems like Kentucky who are they're talented right they're not necessarily a good football team but they're a talented football team with SEC athletes NFL athletes and and they you know they can they're more than happy competing in and trying to win a slug fast and they're you know muck it up right muck it up make it dirty make it ugly and those things can compound but yeah it's an interesting question though as far as just processing okay what what are the what is the road home split situation or performance does it's kind of it's definitely an interesting thing but it's it's got to be something there's something psychological happening but it's tough to without me being there on site on the field like pinpoint exactly what it is there but that's the thing I talked about last night too is I know for a fact like we as fans maybe we could be looking ahead to A&M perhaps even the coaching staff right I think we all kind of agree that there's definitely an added level of extra preparation happening there for both teams probably I've just given this year magnitude if you listen to Ian and Paul talk all week about how Texas could technically lose this Kentucky game and still get into the to the playoff right so it's all about next week right but the players though given that it is senior night it just it does mean a little bit more they want to put on for their friends for their family for everybody in attendance watching them wishing them farewell the fan base in general and put on a show right because they've earned this this day they've earned the pageantry of this moment and so I know that the players are probably more locked in than we might even be willing to give them credit for given the current situation but yeah it's a fun topic well it's a it's a special day too right it's senior senior right you know hey hey Homer you know so for this man I think when Texas goes on the road they really treated like it's a business trip right and so you know this is their business trip to go out there and handle business and like Lando said when you're at home you're really comfortable I think it's just a mind frame of how do we you know swap over that being very comfortable at home and making a home trip also a business trip right so you know you get your your home cooking you know the chef you got all your trainers there you got your girlfriend there you got your boys there too you know so it's so you know it's it's so just everything just right there you know like for you you know so that it's not really a business trip so you know so how do they flip that mindset right yeah great points great points I also noticed too it's kind of just fun to touch on and acknowledge Sark said and I'm sure you guys read it as well we actually had a couple different pieces that acknowledged what he mentioned here on inside Texas the the scrappiness right guys kind of getting into it and practice this week right that's that's a good sign for me psychologically speaking it just uh yeah you're kind of at that at that point to where the monotony begins to take over and it's like man the dog days of the season right and the mo this whole off season leading up to this year and then throughout the year I've been kind of trying to remind people in touching on it like listen guys depth is the difference right it's the difference because the plough expansion the SEC all those things kind of come in you know to ahead at the same time right it's more physical week to week but it's also a longer season ideally for the teams that think that they're capable of competing for the national championship which Texas clearly does you're in the dog days now so you're playing more football games that's why that depth is the difference but just to hear the hear Sark acknowledge that like yeah it's getting a little bit chippy behind the scenes and then practice and it's like you got guys going going after each other that's what you want to hear at this time of year in November right this is this is what this is not cutting time and so just to me I take that as a really positive sign exactly pulling up the list of seniors I hate how they do rosters now everything's like four left two left three left I'm like just tell me who the senior he's a friend who's walking out driving me nuts what it was interesting is we have our usuals we'll talk about them because I want to give love to the seniors man because they were here when it was not good yeah and they switched it up but inside Texas Reporter yesterday Eric that they believe TAF is going to walk and Quinn is also going to walk no TAF going to walk oh yeah wow that's why I wait for the report though right and like he's because he's you know technically graduating but still kind of doing what Johnny did last year as far as game not wait for your grade wait for the grade to come back and then make the decision so TAF has been on fire man cool to watch him play piece of fire for those of you the young guys Quinn walking will be super cool and he's going to be able to also look at his grade there and kind of see so it doesn't mean just because they're walking doesn't mean they're for sure out of there but I mean it's a good hint right they're saying if my draft stock's high enough and I don't know yeah yeah so that's going to be pretty interesting let's pull up I hope while you're pulling the self-homer I want you know I know that it's kind of been a rollercoaster this season for Quinn just with the injuries and with maybe some of the inconsistencies in the pocket and with the deball and stuff like that we've all touched on it right and that's because of you know we've seen Quinn operate at that level tour we we can have those those heightened expectations from him but regardless of all that and regardless of how tonight and the the this afternoon tonight same thing and the rest of the season plays out I just I want I hope that Quinn gets the elevation that he deserves today just because he has been a true like he's he's carried himself like a pro he and in a lot of ways right his recruitment getting here from Ohio State changed the trajectory of this program right and it's not just him obviously but I just want I just want it generated it gave us that's almost that shot in the arm that we needed at that at the time right just having that that little bit of hope right and then the other recruits the the adjacent recruits and then the coaching staff as well sort of feel that I'm sure it had if it was rejuvenating to us sitting here you know all the all these analysts and armchair coordinators right but like imagine what it felt around the 40 acres and I'm obviously not in Austin so I can't speak I know we have plenty of people on this website that can but man it's just to me at the time it gave me a sign of hope and I know that it was that way as well for countless other Texas fans who lived through the dark decade and we're just looking to have some semblance of hope as we transition into the next chapter of SEC football and so for the last two years man for him to parlay all that hype and excitement and the team just kind of rally around him and getting to the college football playoff and now being in a position again at the SEC with the SEC championship still in play today I think it's cool and I just hope that fans kind of have that perspective regardless of how the season finishes I think he was he was a really positive positive thing he was a positive player no matter what for this team and for this program yeah well you can't tell the story of the program getting back into the mix without Quinn exactly and so and yeah dude I remember how hype we were we're getting a top quarterback like that like and we got Stark's offense going on remember the Texas Tech saga too that whole that whole thing was interesting and so yeah you I know that there's some consternation amongst the fans put that aside yeah they will you know Quinn walking that's important what and they did change the outlook man and change the trajectory of all of it and that's important so we need to yeah I'm glad you mentioned to have that perspective and uh it'll be important and I hope he feels that too man I think there's been some turmoil man it's got to be hard kind of psychologically with the fan base with Quinn and like that so I hope he feels a little love same here so he's also too I mean we got a he's a Texas fan yeah you know he grew up so he's one of us you know he plays quarterback but he's one of us you know and so he wants of course he wants to make this university proud he's he's one of us all right so let's look at the seniors man he's saying his name's man eat them bird you know what I'm saying so you know so this bird stay you know that's gonna be interesting he's gonna stay yeah he's gonna stay yeah he's gonna stay uh when towers at edge next year with him and boss it could be cool yeah but Cuba he's a top hundred guy in the draft this year yeah he'll be out of here yeah Baron he's a top hundred guy top top 30 guy actually probably the first rounder yeah I've seen you know I'm not gonna sit here and speculate the 40 time he's he's a first round pick in my opinion but if he runs a 451 and people docking for that that's their own he's their mom it's a Swiss army knife man he showed his worth this year man he can play inside outside inside outside nickel safety he can do it all man he's a Swiss army knife he's a Swiss army knife and should be one of the top two or three for the door this year if not the winner yep no Gavin Holmes Silas Bolden Bill Norton so Silas is coming back for another year you think I don't know if I'm not mistaken I don't know how dumb they yeah these things now are so stupid yeah that's like I don't know who's who can come back who can't but yeah I think Silas has one more year to come back yeah he's got to come back yeah he's electric man yeah he's got to get starting reps he's gonna get he's gonna get off the run day too huh yeah I would expect he should he should yeah with Gondre Morrell let me see who else we got there man I love Benda I do love me some Benda man quick I mean explosive guy he's gonna be a guy that's gonna test really well he's gonna test really well you know what I'm saying just a great player all around yeah he was uh what's he 19 class he was the first year he was it was him is Baron Cerrell all those guys for that year and I'll say I was reading uh I think it was I think Joe had a piece up and he touched on Jermaine Lolei being one of the super seniors yeah technically a six-year guy but he was from the 2018 class and that in that class had people like uh Justin Fields uh Caden Stearns all those guys in and I was like man that took me for uh that was a that was a time capsule right there just reading those names that think about Jermaine Lolei still being around from those those guys it's crazy crazy no Blackwell yeah yeah let's see man everything is okay for the most part just just just know it's her uh refusing to take a nap this is 2021 so 2021 okay so we have Mo Blackwell yeah Hayden Connor yeah Hayden Hayden yeah he's uh this is last year too right mm-hmm he's walking dude man this is uh Juan Davis did some of these names or I know also one man you know saying Keith Ron Lee remember he had the incident prior to enrolling yeah Baron Sorrell he's gone Juan Davis is going to be gone goners gonna be gone I mean goners man thank God for goners here Casey Kane where's he at now he's in Tulane right was this the DeGabro Floyd class too that think that was a year before wasn't it okay maybe Ben Davis he had transfer Keelance in the league right now oh he's back at Notre Dame right when he's back at Notre Dame or to LSU one of the two because we went back with uh with BK right yeah he went to LSU yeah he went to LSU you got Devon Richardson he transferred out that was a trip from 2021 man I mean just just just look at that I mean look at the guys who who stuck you know of course J.T. Sanders and worried those guys are getting paid you know J.T. Coffey left right yeah man Ishmael Ibrahim I thought Coffey was going to be a nice safety I thought he was too man Ishmael Ibrahim made all the talent but the other field issues kind of got him a big tall lanky dude man from Kemble high school I mean he was he was nice man Visitor right now he's at uh Marshall is he a Marshall talented kid man just you know Aaron's cooks that was one too remember at linebacker yeah did we flip him from TCU or am I thinking something different I don't remember that T.C.U. he went he transferred to T.C. okay he transferred to T.C.U. what it was that's what it was Jonathan Brooks man J. Brooks man yep players in this class we did Big Byron Murphy man first round draft pick Hayden Conner I'm interested to see where Hayden's going to go man um I don't know how wild it is to sorry you know go for I'm just thinking oh it's just it's just crazy to see you know Hayden Conner is a freshman there and you know just seeing the just the progression of him as a player and being one of the the best guards when it comes to pass blacky man and you know going to a lot of the games and meeting up with his dad and stuff man and meeting his grandparents and stuff it's pretty it's just pretty cool to see that throughout a four or five year span right yeah it was just kind of crazy man it is burning this 2020 oh he's 2020 class bro from Collins Vernon brought him I'm so happy for Afrikaans and brought man um when I was talking to Tim Crowder a couple years ago and I had him on the show and I asked him because you know Tim was um Tim was training a bunch of the guys in the summer time and I said Tim you got Byron Murphy here that you're helping out and you got Alfred Collins and all these guys that you know you know like that are coming with you I said which one of these guys has it right like which one of these guys if the light switch turns on it's it he goes Alfred Collins if he sees bloods and guts when the light switch comes on he's going to be unstoppable he goes he's just it's just a matter of turning on the switch he turned the switch this year man he turned the switch on this year yeah our our duties have done a really good job of that man yeah whenever it matters like in their time to get paid here yeah they should move man every year every year yeah we've seen it consistently before we keep going guys quick work from our sponsor this video is brought and make it exciting aerate the damn story of my life yeah remember Prince Dorma man oh Prince man uh where do you go Arizona State right yeah yeah he actually bought out there didn't he yeah um let's see Jake Majors big Jake man who's getting draft grades now uh as one of the top three or four centers in the country right so you know that's a lesson too man you know just stay the course trust the process and trust the coaching you know i think guys like Jake Majors are real good stories for cow flood right to show that hey man you got a guy who can stay here in the program and you know so he's here for four or five years and we turn him into a guy who's who's draftable right you know same thing with uh Christian Jones last year right you know everybody was writing off Christian Jones he comes here with a you know a cow flood man and you see just the maturation process of him and just you know just how good that he actually became and yeah man it just shows just how much coaching matters man no quite and to to parlay off that you know we were just talking about Alfred Collins and Vernon brought in a second deal before i stepped out there was the restroom but i heard some of the things you were saying and it kind of reminded me just how lucky Texas it's like i thought i want to i think that for fans just for some added perspective if we've learned anything over the past three to four years it's kind of like exactly what you're saying just about trusting the process a little bit but just at the defensive line position particularly at the interior a it's really a three-year process for guys to get into their grown man bodies and like become that you know that force necessary on the inside the defensive interior um so just like the the whole patience thing kind of coming back to that but also just how how good how how talented how good at their jobs that Bo Davis and now Kenny Baker are right to to have just turning out interior defensive line prospects year over year having the top two graded interior defensive line in last year and now you've got the top graded per pff defensive tackle again this year and Alfred Collins man it's just it's a cool process that we're seeing right now oh you want to see you want something more interesting you want to see more process yeah we just got in bought you oh man that's what i'm talking about baby let's go so six five two eighty eight defensive line Loganville Georgia we have a video that's dropping right now um but yeah we'll talk about the first year playing ball too right he's he's like so raw guy look at his fam i checked this fam out last week man i was just like holy smokes this is his first year like that's that's natural instant you can't teach fellows i mean hey man Texas getting hell man dude this is great just for Texas to be doing dude man they it's it's so good to see this staff recruit it's so good to see the staff actually develop players and then in the holes that they do have they go and fill them up with you know you know guys from the portal as well but you can't just run a team off the portal you got to be able to grow these kids and actually develop these kids and that's what Texas is going to do with this guy man what's he six four say it was six five two eighty five somewhere around there yeah um man he's he's fellows anybody that's on his chat that's that that's in the comments go look at his fam first year playing football folks just think about that and see what he's doing on film and see what Kenny Baker you know he's gonna kill he's gonna kill it with this kid man over three crazy he's crazy he's super athletic go watch this tape man he's awesome that's what's up go ahead Texas yeah so he's all and that's the that's the third you see the second or third Georgia prospect in the 25 class that we post I don't know because uh so yeah I'm looking right now just to make sure yeah let me check too we got so Nick Brooks right Nick Brooks yeah off the level we got and bought you now at a Grayson yep uh I guess technically that's they're both from the same area huh yeah yes I see um and then also zealous six is from yeah because they're getting about Hakes man yeah that's three from Georgia but say to Georgia alone there's a couple four prospects that's an important state and this yes that's one great ground yeah yeah that's what's up that's what's up man welcome to the family in bot you if you're if you're watching this man that fires me up yeah you get an interview dude that's what's up thank you Jake majors like we said some someone I think we're gonna miss dearly like who Jake oh yeah I'm understanding of in his command of the line so smart man yeah it's hard to really put a sort of put a price tag on that that's going to be super important the brains of the operation in a lot of cases you know oh so so hummer so hummer this is what's going to be crazy right you know so when Jake leaves this year who's going to be the center now does this Campbell stay and if Campbell stays do we play with moving coal huts in the center so I think yeah I think it'll be coal huts in the center yeah and then Daniel Cruz is the heir apparent after yeah yeah exactly but that's if Campbell stage which I hope Campbell stays I think he's there I think he stays too we got to have that whole right side stay yeah you know like to be out and it's gonna go though I know it's I know man it's even continues to build man it seems less than less likely that can comes back yeah I know he has to measure those man I just wish I just I know I know hey I can't tell somebody they're not gonna get paid right go get paid man but man he would be so much I think more what's the right word I want to say best suited for to come back one more year maybe or just exactly that's what maximizes potential just like last year I think Barron could have left last year I mean draft is a third rounder maybe you know I'm saying third maybe fourth round he comes back for another year his draft stock rises because he just shows his versatility his technique is more sound he's just a smart I mean he's just where's Kim getting mocked though is he still getting first round stuff I don't like late first really second yeah I mean yeah it's hard to pass up it's hard to pass up man I know man I know it's hard to say the signing bonus at the top of the first round and the bottom of the first round is pretty substantial yeah yeah we'll see either way either way I'm happy for the kid man it's cool man it's cool to watch like you said it's enough enough not to be able to the development and taking guys and yeah like you saw NFL traits from at the time one off more and high school at Duncanville or you know by the time he ever even thought about putting on a Texas a Texas Longhorn series and so that's what's up man yeah we got one to watch out a Barron in this class he's gone go ahead Jade yeah Hallaby sorry there's a school everyone's transferred in yeah yeah you got a contract extension I believe he did yeah he's doing well he's and he's he's not just a special teams I was gonna say he's starting actually on a defense or a defense now yeah yeah he is and also man look at Moochie Dixon I just saw him run two or three good runs today man Moochie playing his butt off at SMU SMU is going to win the ACC this year look I'm going to see I think they're going to beat Miami this year man um man like Moochie's been a big part of that team this year man oh he just fumbled that's crazy we got seen another fumble yeah I was watching that some U highlights uh looks like Virginia fell back on it but hey DJ Campbell what's this a 2022 class yeah that's all juniors this is this the transformation you know this one really sort of the take shape all right all right so look at these juniors so Banks is going to leave right uh Cam is probably going to go right um Terrence Brooks is in Illinois right now so you won't believe for another year uh Campbell should probably stay I hope he stays man um Nettles gonna probably start next year you know you kind of plug and play him at left guard uh you know Brennan Thompson's in OU BJ Allen man I had such high hopes for BJ Allen man so uh Justice Finkley he should be almost ready to graduate he's so smart man tap man I missed tap I know tap was one of the ones that bummed me out when he transferred he was one of my breakup uh Canada's last year yeah I love me some tap Dre Bled so we're waiting on Dre we need Dre to show up I think next year's gonna be a shear Homer I think I think like next year's gonna be his year he's you know his biggest thing is what just keep him on the weight right Homer yeah and one just effort consistent effort yeah Gilbo is a monster we're already seeing what he's doing right now I think a position he's a starter uh Chris Ross off the team Jake Blue uh uh really good player a lot of snaps good player Malik Murphy tearing up at Duke right now mm-hmm Austin Jordan TCU yeah he's actually I don't watch some play I haven't actually sat down and watched Malik play this year yeah as you look as you look like he's commanding the offense and all that has it's it's his team you know saying you know it's his team uh I wouldn't say that they're winning primarily because of him uh but he is he's a big part of them winning if that makes sense you know what I'm saying sure yeah Cam's running onto the prize for you ranked him so low at least I don't like that ranking I want to say at the time when he committed though what would be a three star he's a three star when he committed but he's a three star across a lot of boards so yeah you know what I'm saying that's crazy uh Aaron Bryant's a guy who hopefully comes on next we're you know something good well yeah he can work continue to grow yeah yeah Ethan Burke so he's graduating but you know so my question with that was does he stay here at Texas or does he transfer out because it's like he's getting over recruited you know what I'm saying it's like yeah so this you need to keep building his body man on the strong right he needs to get stronger he needs to put on good way yeah um yeah so I think I think there is there I mean Colin Simmons is most certainly he took some snaps from Ethan Burke this year there's no question right but I still think you're gonna have that rotation and he's got a head rotation well Baron Sorrell's gonna be gone he's gonna be gone yeah that means that Ethan Burke should start if he's handling that's good he's hella dangerous yeah yeah if he he knows if he comes back he's it's go time so yeah yeah yeah so so turn it good he transferred air is on state right mmm I actually don't know yeah I think there's San Jose state oh San Jose state okay Derek Brown man I feel kind of bad for him he's looking to go to Juco this year I saw some posts on him and he was one of the good recruiter for us he was a great recruiter for us uh ag bow man is you know I missed that jumbo package a little bit you know seeing abble come out there with the number 80 jersey on you know yeah yeah co-huts and progress started center next year kind of Robinson back up center probably next year Bryce is at UNT right I think so he said north Texas because I remember us yeah yeah because we flipped him from OU remember that Zach Swanson my uh my comments say beyond red is about and I're pretty good at uh you know Las Vegas not sure why that is what you say later my comments aren't coming through I'm not saying here you're here yeah I'm I finally got my first one mmm that's where I did yeah Derek Derek said Nino and then uh who was it I think Swit 63 said Lando I'm not sure oh Derek Weisner Derek Reiser my dude man that's that's uh that's the uncle of tray Weisner folks so oh it is yeah man yeah you know so that's Trey's uncle he's he's always a guest on my show anytime great great old great talk man so um well nephew nephew is killing it and we love to see it here we do yeah sorry guys I had to pull up our actual stream because for some reason on the back end we're not we're not getting any of these comments yeah we're not getting any of them yeah I just I see the one from Swit 63 so sorry you guys are in the chat for whatever reason our our technology is it's not doing a good job yeah it's kind of weird man it is annoying what's his deal is but I'm gonna read the chat through our actual live stream and then that way we can see I just got it pulled up on the phone I'm trying to keep up just to make sure people are asking questions that we need to answer I got to pull them too yeah not just a bunch of comments man everybody's like what's up um Florida's lit what's the score right now uh 17 17 still I got it on let me see make sure it oh they're about to they're about to punch it in again take dude this is the most lane-kiffin thing if this happens Laina you know Lane got his first signature win last week right that's his first signature win to go against Jordan I mean think about it like he he doesn't have a signature win last last week's his first win his first signature win and then it'll come back and get beat by five and five Florida yeah before that's a different Florida with lab i know i know lagway is is nice there it is there it is okay seven minutes when we saw they showed lagway on the sidelines when we were just beating the brakes off of them and you could see like a villain arc he's starting there you know because he's from Texas Texas doesn't take you then you have to come with Florida you're hurt you guys are there i feel like i feel like lagway is going to be problematic for us like the next couple years no doubt like we're gonna respect him right now but i bet we hate him you know next year he's a good kid man like all the respect in the world of lagway and it's clearly an awesome player man i had a couple uh i had a couple of Florida fans that i went to college with that were they were talking about that whole situation and you know we we just had some back and forth about about the coaching situation and and the buyout for Napier and all that stuff and and i just kind of told them i was like look it just goes to show you how valuable the quarterback position truly is even in college football right and yeah for instance right now you know and then that kind of like talked a little bit of sense into them a little bit i think they they kind of became a little bit more optimistic but there you know there there's there's a bunch of questions about behind the scenes with Napier just having like you know the little pads where like for special teams where every guy stands over there like in regard you know yeah uh that's that type of stuff is frustrating to them and then just to consistently see special teams mistakes like just you know self-inflicted errors where it's just like a lack of discipline and attention to detail but it just goes to show you sometimes patients can be a virtue and it's definitely playing out right now we'll see so all right guys i can't pull up comments but i'm just going to read them sure uh do you think sarx play calling will be more aggressive since he knows they can rely on the on their defense so i don't know strategically the value of not doing the bare minimum this game like if you with a and m next week you know like dude if i can get by with outside zone and screens i don't know what i how am i if i'm incentivized to keep going you know because we don't need scoring margin we're not like in that situation to get in the playoffs you know so right dude if you win by 10 it's going to be frustrating right i always say winning by 10 is fine but it's always the how we win by 10 that makes me mad yeah but i don't think there's a lot of like i don't think there's a lot of value in like stepping on the gas particular in this game now i would love it if we beat them by 70 i just don't know what motivation there is to to go hard on kentucky today i agree i guess the whole thing is it kind of reminds me of like 2019 you know saying lsu where they just went hard against everybody you know i'm saying like they didn't care for his murray state texas you had to play hard against texas um you know like every other school i mean they just went hard every game and i guess it's to just kind of instill fear the next opponent you know i'm saying so you keep letting teams hang around you know opponents who aren't as good as you or shouldn't be in the same field as you or shouldn't stack up against you start to believe that they can beat you you know i'm saying and so i guess that's my only thing but but sarks not that kind of guy you know you know we don't see him stack up points on people just to stack up points he's he's a gentleman when it comes to coaching right and so i you know he wanted to hire stoops right as a dc uh so you know he's one of those guys he he's going to win this game but he's not going to kill him he's going to give him like the gentleman 17 point maybe you know 10 to 13 point win and call it a day and she put it right on michigan too right did the finish yeah you know at the time right that that score could have we could have easily put up 50 something on him yeah man so sark does just enough to win and when he knows he has to gain one he didn't look man he backs off you know so yeah that's where i'm at like sark doesn't do that naturally and then also next week right i mean i you're basically you know like whatever your core concepts is like you're not going to see anything new put on tape no no and so and it seems like we need new to score highly yep and so it's like we're super scheme dependent so yeah i i don't expect i mean hopefully man we can put up 35 with just our base concepts that'd be awesome you know i would love that yeah but i wouldn't be i say this but i don't think i'd be frustrated with like uh not a big i need a confident win i don't want to be in question but even like a 10 point i feel better about a 10 point win here than i did versus arkansas yeah you know so give me a you know like a 28 18 win that you know like that was the same win that i think they got against Tennessee as well you know like i'm i'm totally fine with that you know what i'm saying or give me a 24 10 win like they like they had against Auburn right you know what i'm saying so i'm cool with that man um i think this defense dude i think our defense is lights out it's the top of the country right for a reason i don't think it could score against us especially at home i i like i don't see it happening so uh it should be a low scoring game but look i got texas winning this game sark's not gonna break tennessee he's not gonna go deep just to go deep you know he's gonna run the ball it's gonna be a boring game i think from our end um you know like see a lot of trade wise and just bashing people um you know like maybe see some but you know you know some gifts and also doing this thing too as well and and then just had some blue just kind of you know just busting up the guts man so yeah man i like the game you know like as a whole to answer that question more directly i forget who asked it but just in regards to sark being more aggressive knowing that he can trust the defense forgive me for not remembering the name uh who was that when you guys can pick me up but anyway the i actually see like i understand the angle that you're coming from there but for me it's almost like i see it from an opposite perspective like because of that defensive factor it's like why like it so if you're asking the question should you be more aggressive it's almost like why would you why would you intentionally be more risk or be less risk averse in putting your defense in a more difficult situation than otherwise would be um but as far as the aggression i think the aggression is something that we're gonna we're gonna see continue especially given like we need to talk about special teams probably for a second just the punting situation um and PR or yeah the punting game and the punt return game as well um but just knowing that we don't necessarily have that weapon this year with the leg like you're gonna see sark go for it on fourth and one now is that overly aggressive no i think there's a level of confidence that's kind of built into that but um some of those some of those like he's going to if it's if it's you know i don't know third and 13 sark's not going to try to throw it at the sticks and force a ball to convert on third down he's going to say okay take what we can get take what we can get and then put us in a fourth and four or less and then we're still going to be aggressive and go for it there exactly i see it yep um that's just kind of his mentality in general but as far as just like turning that up a notch because of this defense at this point no it's not like you're not going to see a a philosophical approach uh be different than than we've seen this so far this year also man i don't like for talking to psychology i don't like the big win before a and m you want to talk right yeah i don't want the emotional high like i don't want like man kentucky was easy one by 30 light work i don't i don't think that's a great thing going into a rivalry game like the best thing that can happen tonight is arkansas game that's the chore no no no no no no no the arkansas game to happen right yeah i think it happened tonight texas fans don't like this because they always want a and m to lose i don't i think a and m having an awesome game versus auburn and like kicking auburn's ass is great for texas yeah yeah you know i want them to be feeling fat and happy yeah the same reasons you just said that you don't necessarily want to see us block and tucky right yeah right on set i'm with you i'm i'm actually very much with you on that on that front damn too i want this next week of practice then being like man we got a button up or a and m could beat us you know i don't want them coming in excited of like well that was easy you know yeah that's the that's kind of but of course like i said i say that pre-game and then in the post game i'll be mad that we left me on the board yeah whatever kept it close is still going to make me mad somehow but when i still have my logic intact uh before the game that that's how i feel about it we'll see if i'm able to to keep that thought but before we keep going guys quick word from bora baker hi i want to tell you about laura baker if you're contact details she's a friend give her a call got a lot of good recruits guys in the group chat here we have our photographer sending us photos so we got facucion deck we got uh we got a lot of kids here to watch the game i would love to get him i know it's probably not that well i won't say it's probably not going to happen but yeah i would love to get facuci i don't think he's staying at OU so it's probably i was ready and yeah it's got to be us ready and we'll yeah we'll see i would love for it to be us of course yeah i mean but then OU is going to be a lot of fun are they they have a night game are they playing yeah yeah yeah it's a night game at seven o'clock man so that's Fred was interesting it's only 14 points it's 14 point game right um i thought i saw that eight am i i might be crazy maybe okay hold on okay let me check but that's gonna be interesting game man i was telling my wife today you know everybody who knows me knows me my wife's a bama fan she's from Alabama you know it's a green county Alabama um you know i was telling i said don't be surprised oh you're just going through a bunch of stuff out here that you know you guys might not be used to they don't have the offensive weapons anymore because they're all hurt but your defense is pretty damn good right and so i said don't be surprised if this game is a little bit closer than you think because nah nah nah nah we're gonna smoke them i'm like all right you know they're at home too right so we're right it's 14 points too but yeah yeah it's a 14 so yeah it you know like bama should win this game easily but it you know i think it'd be close here for the first couple quarters but we'll see if all you plays you close that's not a good sign because that i hate it not even beyond like them being arrivals like this is a bad team it's a bad team yeah it is a bad team it's a different team and offensive success rate like they can't pass like this team sucks and and just everybody's hurt because they have four offensive linemen out something like i mean their injury report's crazy man and like also like at OU right now they're so bad that like even if you think you have an injury you're going to go ahead and sit out there's not a lot of motivation for you to go on the field and get embarrassed and put bad tape right so that's the tricky part too is like they've had a rash of injuries but also i don't see anybody really rushing to get back from the injuries either because there's not a lot of motivation there motivation yeah they're they're they're in a world of hurt it's beyond just this year i mean you just look they're they're losing their top prospects or their top recruits they're losing coaches left and right they're losing games so i mean it's uh they're having to rely on basically landing that OC and that OC bring in that quarterback which is a good quarterback man and a good OC as well you know it's gonna be interesting um look man oh you this is oh man this is that's the final that's the final option you already fired roof as your DC yeah you went one one of your OC's left um to go be a head coach but also wasn't going to be around regardless somehow yeah and then you have to fire your OC this year in Game of Thrones bv's fired everyone he can before he has to get before he's the yes you know it's like they've done all the and we're Texas fans we watch this for a decade they're coming here shuffle how these games work you know and if you the the miracle hire for that OC and the miracle transfer quarterback that he brings thoroughly Gilbert you know if it doesn't it doesn't work he's out he's out you know this is the last opportunity for them to make that happen yeah that's the context that i was kind of applying their home or your spot on man it's like we we if anybody has understanding of how this stuff works it's us right we've lived through it you know so this could permeate potentially beyond just this year you know exactly it's gonna be tough to overcome but it's not the say that it can't be done we'll see yeah i'm super but tonight's gonna be a good night watch OU versus Alabama that's gonna be fun and Amber Auburn is also gonna be a fun game so it's gonna be a good night of football i'm excited for that one of this current score updates guys what's Ole Miss Florida what's uh Ohio State had the point so Florida's got the ball again but it looks like Ole Miss just forced a point on their end so it's always going to get the ball back with four minutes to go uh down seven oh mr down seven yeah old mr down seven we're about to get the ball um and then somebody in the comments a second ago mentioned you uh Georgia trying to lose to UMass is that true what did i see i was 21 14 last time i saw okay but i was about a quarter ago oh it's for rap now 45 21 now okay okay all right they score more points on Georgia than we did no gonna stay dude there's twenty four hundred Georgia what the hell's going on there that's that's good and they they ran the ball all over him too and now we can find more valuable like specific game prep really is like they they they they overlooked Mississippi State the week before they played us there's no doubt about it right same thing anem's probably doing right now looking looking ahead to uh to us in favor uh or you know putting Auburn on the back burner it's uh a stuff matters man i i don't know i don't know there's college footballs by only 22 year olds but we can stop the Indiana nonsense now as well yeah 31 15 yeah i'm not like all season they've been the story it's like i'm just not watching them i don't buy it you know oh yeah you were in fairness you were saying that uh like back in week four i remember you saying that you're like i i don't know you like talk to me on week 10 week 11 you know we'll see yeah cuz they didn't play pin state this year um well people i've heard i heard silly people say like man Texas indiana same thing man like they haven't come on dude Adam fit in one and i'm like dude there's a difference between the 38th rank schedule and the 106th rank schedule you know exactly that's a five schedule 106 like yeah you know so it's like it's stuff like that for them to just be like it's the same thing as Texas it just disqualifies here it's not the same at all not the same it's not the same at all number two we got what we're not getting but we have top 25itis yeah when you look at like s&p plus like ranking all the teams also man enough of this top 25 we need every team needs to be ranked it needs to be one through 133 because otherwise it screws with stuff because Texas hasn't beat top 25 but Texas has beat a lot of like top 40 top 50 it's not like we're playing 100's like it's viewed very easily yeah so it's like the whole concept of like why why is don't we have total rankings it makes no sense so it's like we need to we need a group that needs to rank everyone fully that way we don't have these dumb like oh they don't have top 25 wins well say this say i didn't play any top 25 but i played 26 27 28 a weekend and week out and then you're comparing me to the team that's playing teams that average a hundred eighties and hundred like it's not the same thing so i don't know it doesn't have the top in but we've played solid teams that are not super bad so that's kind of the we just lose context so easily in the sport man but we need we need everything ranked the entire the entire league or the entire fbs ranked for sure yeah yeah and i guess you'd have to let a computer do that obviously right yeah but you yeah you would have to have like some solid metrics like i've heard like point differential i don't always love that because that's so like schematic dependent right like that like if you're a run up to score offense right but you know something about sark earlier having a little bit of respect right like sark sark could beat teams like that and because he's not air raid not he's not throwing it because he's not running up score you can have problems with score differential yeah you know and there's also like control teams right like there's really dominant teams that like win by 14 but their style is ball control yeah so like point differential just accounts for like who's who's running air raid you know and so that i don't like that specifically i kind of like efficiencies right when you're given opportunities do you score not by points right because if you if you're a quick offense you can have 17 drives in a game some offenses like in tucky to play slow they only have like 10 you know so it's like it's really about when the oppressing opportunity is presented do you score not what's your total volume you know yeah i think what's going to be interesting man is i looked at the last game and texas ran a lot of 12 personnel last game homer you know and um seeing that i think in tucky is kind of like middle of the pack when it comes to you know this actual rush defense you know i think texas is going to run 12 a little bit more this game and going to slow the game down a lot you know i'm saying i'm starting to slow it down yeah exactly exactly so i think this could be a you know this could be a uh no kidding um how many plays we had the last game we had 70 plays last game and the in the in the defense played 58 plays it was at 100 and 128 plays this could be a game kind of that same range maybe even a little bit less 115 plays between both teams kind of game they're trying to be super efficient super efficient yeah yeah so you know i can see texas running a bunch of 12 personnel which they did the last game um and then just kind of grinds you down and then you know like in that fourth quarter you know texas closed it out with like a 13 play drive or something in the fourth quarter you know what i'm saying so i can see texas doing something like that man whereas a very efficient game um take take what the defense gives you run the ball very well you know uh just a numbers game with stark man so look look i can see a 12 personnel being a big part of this game yeah yeah uh yeah that's that's definitely interesting man i think uh fans need to be prepared to be frustrated in this first half yeah like that's just that's the design of that's the whole point of kentucky right like that's what they're trying to do and they still got i mean they got damn walking they got athletes man like that's what we have to get used to in the SEC yeah thank you yeah bear brown brown i mean those guys are fast man if two of my favorite wide receivers if they could actually utilize them they'd be scary but they just don't pass um so they they got guys there's no questions about it it's just they're basically like they're trying to do vandy vandy and them have a similar philosophy vandy is executing better than them and you saw when they played vandy they lost it's always interesting when you see two of the same style go head to head yeah um so kentucky can tucky frustrate you and can they upset guys clearly they can so i i don't think it's super fair like unless you know quin throws three picks and blue fumbles nine times i think i think you should expect it to be a little bit frustrated in this game i think that's just kind of the style of it and like i said sark doesn't have you know unless you get down or something sark has no motive to show a new scheme or something that he knows is going to break the defense exactly so i could see it and i think you know sark's gonna throw screens we're gonna try to run i don't i don't think like i said there's a lot of motive to do cool stuff in this game so it might be a little bit frustrating as a fan yep i agree i noticed something i don't know if you guys picked this up in the film study i didn't watch a ton of kentucky like i haven't obviously watched every snap but um just kind of doing some stuff behind the scenes i noticed they're like they're they're two impact players up front in particular right with walker and uh uh big number big number zero what's his name come on yeah yeah they um they tire pretty easily man i noticed just like some lackadaisical effort right well they're playing too much dude yeah and walker was a first round pick and they're playing too many snaps yeah they don't have a lot of good depth there and so it's making them just like if you made sweat play 60 plays a game you're gonna look bad yeah yeah he's a bad man dude because walker walker's draft stock has really taken a hit this year yeah because he was projected to be a first round pick this year coming out and like you said at home he's just been playing too many snaps man so he's one of those guys man which is about 350 pounds and you know very athletic guy really good feet too as well he's a guy you know i've listed cowboys be somebody like that but yeah no doubt talk about it so listen back to the MO though right it's what what are we what do we start to show off with depth is the difference right this this is the the home stretch man you got to have that depth especially up front that's Texas Fans should know this by now but we just don't look at it look at the interior snaps nose quiche on silvers at 232 snaps and then Khalil Saunders is a rotational tackle he's at 212 well Dion Walker is at 421 oh my oh wow yeah he's doubling the other guys in reps i think Alfred for context Texas fans like Alfred Collins prior to the Arkansas game was somewhere like in the what 230s 240s right so he's like the story i mean he's like he's almost doubled him yeah 421 reps are keeping them out there all the time and that's just not good for and it's 340 pounds yeah almost 350 right he's like crazy and he is taking snaps off he physically he has to take snaps off you can't do it out of it that's crazy man yeah so that that's the big problem with him but man if you kept his reps down you know he's getting 30 40 a game he's also that's a very different player but they're at both ends so that'll be the tricky part so they really have a what is it a three-man rotation of guys inside that have over 200 snaps right yeah yeah and then Texas has Texas has what five right yeah they don't have the depth oh man Florida just got a turnover ball game ball game baby man did you see the i was i was kind of keeping up with the chat my notifications for uh for the chat behind the scenes to Homer she's the most lame kiffen thing ever dude it's the most lame kiffen thing ever man especially when kiffen kiffen this big dude kiffen was like i don't know if you even want to make the championship game yeah it's like look and i'm not even oh my god god he's got his point he has a real point i get it so i'm not mad at this point but it is just funny that his mind was on that and then you come out and also man old miss was the one like if yeah i think last week i was they're like who could win at all it's like old miss man they're hot they're hot you know but the problem is you you can get cold too so i was looking at the attempts it looked like uh if i read it correctly jackson dar only had like 23 or 24 pass attempts i'm guessing florida just played ball control they just went at them all night yeah all morning and uh but we look at the old miss got rushing on the house it's not over yet they got three-time ass lift right so yeah it's not over florida's doing classic florida yeah uh man i like napier i like napier loosing all controlling big shots yeah yeah yeah i did too i did too i liked them when he was at there too you know because we played them too didn't move about three or four years ago yeah when he was still at Lafayette or yeah they had gailed their coordinator was still there man like i like napier the florida fans are really mad at them but it's because you know florida's province has 42 total rushing attempts and counting right now yeah it's just uh you know florida fans are just like texas fans at the time you know we're we're so used to you know you have an error right where this is like this like this like this memory of you know like you being good and then you go through a decade or you go through a stretch where you're not you know we had to try the strong years and then we had the time of herman years right and then we had like the end of mac and and going through those years you're like this isn't what i'm used to kind of thing so you're in a hurry to get these fixed right one thing about school is like florida and and like texas when things aren't right we're able to you know quickly fix them you know you know because we got to find answers to do it right and so you know like that you know like all that kind of helps to swivel florida's getting on the right track you know what i'm saying you're getting the right track well i think i like too that they were like look we can pay his buyout or we can just put the money behind him in nyl right now yeah yeah and so having lagway come in and be that guy man this is uh this is good and i was against this to Homer because i was just like this team's office line it's not that great um and like i wouldn't put that kid out there and kill him all right but he's he's showing that he belongs man yeah he he's going to be a baller man now can he play fully play quarterback because whenever we when i had to prep for him he was the second to worst intermediate passer in the league and he was the worst short passer and he was the best deep passer so he wasn't playing quarterback he was playing throwing bombs yeah you know so it's like kind of like marvellous there dude if you just watch lagway highlights man you're going to come away as like Heisman right but so he saw it's a long way to go and like playing quarterback promise arm is insane he's a good kid so you're not kind of any off-the-field issues he's a smart kid he's going to be able to figure out the offense he can run he has his legs yeah and he's clearly other players are excited to play with him so yeah i think he's going to be at home run it's just can he can he be fully play quarterback besides just throwing sick highlight plays yeah very important again so lagway it's like the jayla milro two years ago you know so like when he was able to get snaps and he had the deep ball going he could run the ball very effectively that was a superman trait but it was like it was like just the short passes you know you know stuff in the middle those are things that kind of got them kind of kind of hung up right and so you've seen him over the years get get better at it he's still not the best at it you know but he's gotten better at it year in and year out and lagway superpowers the deep ball i mean he's an all right lagway's an all right runner but he's not a runner yeah like he's a hockey quarterback that can run but his his superpower is is the deep ball you know it's like he was leading the country there man like he's he's sweet with it man he's killer with the that's gonna get another shot by the way yeah oh miss got a minute left man you know let you go in and drive and also real quick too like is anybody feeling better right now than Florida's athletic director given the vote of confidence when he had every reason not to two weeks ago and then they go put these two performances together back to back yeah dominate and lsu the way that they did and then now uh if this score holds here if they can get one more stop putting Ole Miss to bed as well that'd be uh consecutive top 25 they're gonna be fun next year man i know we're gonna have to go to the swamp it's gonna be a trip all right we got to get ready for our game yeah let's get ready man got to go appreciate you guys fans thank you guys so much for hanging out we will be here post game as soon as the clock strikes zeros me paul and drew we'll be talking about the game hopefully it was a fun win appreciate everyone and welcome!
It's the final regular season home game at DKR. Can Texas handle business versus a down Kentucky Wildcats?
