Yeah, there's just some things where like When you're the only person that the ref is going to be looked at and when he looks at the moment the ball is thrown You have your fingers wrapped around the bicep of the receiver It's just gonna get called like did it actually affect whether that receiver was gonna catch the ball? no, absolutely not it just The guy can only call what he's gonna see and when you're looking at it from his perspective It looks like passenger fear when you're standing behind the line and you see the offensive lineman behind the defender But his arm is in front of his head a lot easier to miss that call man cuz you're looking at five guys That's as opposed to at that second that guy is locked in on what is happening between I was gonna say you'll always start by looking at the quarterback and out from there And this was right directly line of sight. We answered back So we even when things aren't working perfect now we play complimentary football, you know Uh, we go three and out man jack fox what a massive punt puts him down there on the one yard line, you know That's a huge play and then ultimately our defense the end of that game holds Um, so I'm proud of the way they fought, you know, uh, we did what we had to do and uh, Man, we're gonna move forward. We're gonna enjoy this Uh first thing's giving win since I've been here and our guys are gonna enjoy it We're gonna enjoy it. We got a couple of days off before we're back get ready for green bay or players do and uh And then we're on to the next one. I I did feel like we were gonna make a stand Um I didn't see it, you know happening that way, but um, you know, nobody did you getting those type of games and uh, you know, um That's what you get in those situations and and you know, you're just You're trying to play off of and do the best you can, you know, because I'm also in my head thinking Before that do we need to you know Use the timeout give yourself a chance to answer back if they tie it, but yet, man And you don't and now you allow them more time to score touchdown and win the game, you know, you're going through all these scenarios. So, um You know, I was I was just proud of the way the defense held Um, I I felt good about us doing it holding. I just didn't know how it was going to play out And you guys have joined so many games by multiple points and multiple touchdowns Did people encouraging to escape this game to a certain degree this game that was so tiny? Can you seem to be hanging on for your life? Yeah, I mean, you know, it's look I told the team Um That's what I said you you know, if you're not careful you start grading your own wins and uh And that's it's good because you have these standards the way you think you should play By your own standards by what you have it has nothing to do with the opponent It's just you know yourselves and you know what you're capable of and so You know, you if you're not careful you start going too far down that thing then you you start taking wins for granted and ultimately man That's a good win against an opponent that is fought every week And this was a third game in the row division game that these those guys have brought it over there and um, so we did what we had to do to win and We'll clean up this the other stuff Uh that cost us some points. Um, I'm not worried about that But I will take this w and I'm not going to lose sleep over it Yeah, and look that that I'll be honest with that's already cleaned up It's already cleaned up. It is or it isn't and we get a guy back. We don't get a guy back and it like Wearing about it and moaning about it and bitching about it. It's like calls, right? It's like the call. It's like the door. I could sit there and throw a fit about it. What does it matter? You know, it's it's called. It's done So I know this whoever we have available. We're gonna get them ready to play and we expect them to hold the line period You got to do your job and everybody around you is looking for you to do your job so We'll give you the best opportunity to have success or put you in the best position to have success and Man and we'll go and if we got to do something different We got defensive injuries that makes us do something different offensively and special teams will do that If it's offensive then we'll play a little different on defense or special teams and and we'll we'll find a way to Uh to balance the levees Those guys some serious Uh I feel like it'll be okay. It could be a little bit, you know, we may we may We they could be down for a bit. I look. I'll be honest with you I think rudrigo is the one that that could be the worst Um, and I don't know how significant it'll be just yet, but he's the one I fear a little bit could be down Yeah, I mean look I yeah, I I didn't have a problem with the coverage That's probably the best way to say it, you know I thought those guys were competing for the ball and and uh, I like just coverage there and look I love the way it's why i build doors here, man We love the way he competes like you don't worry about him It's too big for him or he's not going to go out there and he's not going to fight the guy He's not like, you know Um, we don't exactly what he is and we love it. And sometimes it makes the audio go all wonky where when he first starts talking It's like he's screaming at you from three inches from your ears But that's better than not knowing what he's talking about and when it goes up on youtube like if you watch it after the actual press conference Uh, they fix it. So that's that's really all you can ask Uh Other teams don't do that stuff and I think as lions fans sometimes we get a little bit spoiled and don't really realize how good We have it as far as that the team's relations with the fans and media goes Yeah, yeah, I'm watching both. I know we're likely gonna get Jared Um, so we should have him and I'll keep my eyes on this to see if we get the flus But he might have the flu And we may have no both the impressor from those bears. This is something that would Oh, wait. Nope. We've got him the flus the flus is loose. Give me one second It's gonna be awful for him. It's gonna be Crazy bad, uh, let me get a little bit of work here Are That ready and then I have to just do one more thing. Sorry. Um, but uh, also, uh, I thought the guys battle really hard 16 to zero, you know, we didn't come out the way we wanted to in the first half On offense on defense. Um, you know, and uh, but I thought our guys battled, you know, with, you know, holding those guys the field goals Um really helped us to stay in the game and um, we did a good job of uh resetting ourselves at halftime Offense at a heck of a job in the second half Um You know in terms of uh efficiency and scoring points and getting us in position Uh defense did what it had to do to put us in position to win the game Um as well, you know, and then it came down to that last drive, you know, the last drive right there Um You know, we were there At the end they had penalty. We had penalty that you know, we had a bunch of penalties there hands in the face We had a you know, they called a pick route on us Um, but we also have a DPI to put us in position Um, and it's not going to sound a field goal. We're going to build some penalties Really just there at second and 20 like the second was like an energetic right there. Arnold It was not bad. You know, so you literally put the arms up and like and our shoulder was third going in The fourth that we would rack re-rack that play Um At 18 seconds throw it in balance get into the field goal range and then call the time out And that that's where it was and that was our decision-making process on that again We're outside the field goal range, you know, so we needed to get a few more yards in there As close as we can get and then we're going to call time out and that's why we held that last time out Um at the end of the game. This is what a last press conference looks like from like a sense One for a long time. Absolutely for the players They put a lot of work in in a short week And uh put themselves in position to win that game So with that i'll take questions And we were hoping that he's going to call it Uh, or you know get the ball snapped and then we would have called time out right there But uh once it's under seven there It's through the corner right under the bus You're you call time out through then you're basically throwing the ball to the end zone because once it's under 12 We can't throw it inside with no time out and it was third going into fourth You know, so that's that's a big deal. So it was third going in the fourth That's why we wanted to preserve the time out How can retrospect how should you handle the final sequence? Yeah, I like what we did uh there Um again once it's under seven, you know, you're gonna you're gonna call You know time out there or actually under 12 Um, and then really you don't have an option Um, you know, because it's third to fourth you got to throw it into the end zone then so to me it's uh Uh, I think we handled it the right way. Um, I do believe that You know, he's just reracked the play get it in bounce and call time out and that's why we held it and Um, didn't work out the way we wanted it to Yeah, just like I explained, you know, we wanted to re-rack that Um, like I said get a play in bounce and then call time out and uh, that's where it was It was third in the fourth, uh, go in there, so Because at the end of the game shot the wrong situation vibes Yeah, I mean, I'm not gonna talk about specific plays But it was the play that was going inside and then because we had the time out and we'd have been in filbert range then It would have been all set Yeah, I have to look at the exact play. Um, I gotta look at the play right there Um, again, I gotta get to the bottom of that. I don't I didn't see it I mean, I saw the guy come free, um, and I know what the play was But uh, yeah, I gotta look at it Why did what was the ball snap today? Just give me this guy to get it. We just gotta do a better job together Just gotta do a better job together to to re-rack that play get it off and then uh, all time out, um You want to see because my ricks are right? So what does it mean, do you want to play football? That's the ticket, but you listen there once you get us an offense. Yeah. Yeah, you could take it down to your hope You know, you're taking it down there, right? So, uh, 18 and then down there right there and then once it gets under 12, then you're You know, you gotta you gotta hold on to it then So what's this? Players for not getting it snapped? No, it's uh, you know, it's it's a situation where you gotta get you know, you get to play in, right? Is snap the ball. I'll just say and get it off and then we'll call timeout. That was the whole operation We were all on the same page there. We just got to do it a little bit better Why did you guys have to blow the timeout? Prior to that 43 seconds left second and 10 it was not the clock. Yeah. Yeah, so that one there I was on the uh, you know on the offensive line Um in terms of the headset And uh, that one there was like, you know, do you guys need it? Because I'll ask them that because there's a lot of times because there's an emotion going there And we know it's going to be a delay. We did not want to take a delay that would kick us out of the kick line there Or move it back any further. Um, so I took it there Thank you Wait for him to tell the reporter to stand up straight in his chair Yeah, I mean it was the play got in, you know, there's a motion to it Um, you know, obviously the crowd noise all those things and uh, when it gets to five there Then I just I asked him if you need it, let me know, you know, because there was motion there and So we did need it and I called it That's bad. How much of the blame do you take it for this month? That's bad. Clay Holly, why do you all see the head football coach? You know, so I'm taking I'm taking the blame, of course, um, you know, that's what you do Number two time on the bus. So we didn't get it done It starts at the top and it starts right here. So accountability is right here with me And uh, again, we just got to do it better And I got to do it better And uh, I was proud of the guys the way they fought and uh, they did a good job put themselves in position They can be told they don't do it somewhere else. You've not had preparing your players for this critical moment As long as it's the way you just handled the moment Yeah, I just think that we can we know we were there in the moment. We just got to handle it better We got to handle it better. Um, no, and we're right there. He knows what this is Again, there were some penalties there at the end. You know, we were in position to score We had a hands in the face. I think that was a pretty costly one Um You know that we just got to do a better job not taking negative plays, but it's got to be Um, I think it starts right here. It starts with me About 16 is there only to get the touchdown hold the thought process and take advantage of playing So they're going for two These are better questions, right? We didn't get that but then it wasn't still 10. I believe is that right? Yeah, so oh, yeah at that point, um, that is true, but uh It was in the fourth quarter. So it's in our chart that was go for two It's not like it's in a matter It's not Contrived. Yeah, you know, this is this is emotional. You know, it's like don't give me the facts And uh, I'm just gonna pull my best foot forward on this play. You know, why did this happen? I get the work and I was actually watching the game that I'm talking about today. I'm just a reporter Like like I said, I'm just gonna keep grinding and uh working and uh, that's what I do A couple players said that you didn't have a you didn't have like the normal post game meeting the locker where you dressed the team Is that true? And what would have been the moment? No, we we typically bring it up for prayer, right? We brought it up for prayer and uh, that's what we did And uh, we uh broke it down like we normally do so it was same operation Is there a message that you delivered to them post game? Yes, and I know it's hard. No, it's difficult. Um You know, um, we still have a lot to be thankful for and that was it that we just broke it down A couple players in the matter who are shaking in their confidence in you Yeah, I would just say that we had to pull together. We just got to keep pulling together. Um, keep believing in each other Um, you know, I know these games are tight Um, you know, you know, losing by one losing by three a couple times, you know, losing by five losing by I get that Right, but we're right there. We're right there And we just got to keep plugging along And uh, it's gonna crack, you know, it's one more crack of the hammer and and it's gonna crack and uh The guys keep pushing over and fighting and we're right there It's got to keep digging maybe All right, there you go. Wow Wow, man That press conference leads me to believe he has already been told that he's fired Yeah, yeah, I'm with you on that like just the the fact that they didn't even do the meeting at the end of the game Or he was told before the game that if this goes stupid, you're gonna be you know what I mean Uh, I remember once I was working as a a retail manager in a store And uh, I had a meeting plan with my guys where I was gonna buy them all Pizza basically i'm gonna go for a pizza thing and that was gonna be our meeting And uh, then I decided I didn't want to work there anymore And uh, despite the fact that I still work there when that meeting was supposed to happen Uh, nobody got free pizza You know at that point I was like, no I'm uh My my effort level just went to what am I contractually required to do? I All right, let me and that's the press conference. We just got Yeah, like he was supposed to start the play with like 18 seconds left and just didn't for Reasons, I don't know we got we got Jared gaw for the podium Let me get okay And uh, and and in the meantime, he's to hand out the pizza to the folks in the chat. All right, we'll get Jared on right now It was crazy ending right like Thought we won thought we were gonna go over time thought we were gonna have a chance to have our final drive Thought we won again, you know, like it all kind of kept happening um Ultimately our defense, you know been don't break and made those plays at the end those sacks were huge Um, some of the stuff on the back end was huge covering Um, and they made it happen. But yeah, it was a good win and uh, don't care how it happens Don't care against who division game on Thanksgiving. We'll take any way we can I really like doing the opposing coaches press conference. Yeah We have the best I was just talking about it. Why? You know the you know in your NFL career you have these bucket list items and you know, holding them parties Obviously number one, but like the whole eating the turkey after the Thanksgiving win Is up there too and and that's something that I'll never forget and um, they was actually pretty good and the stuffing was good and Uh, we were we were having a good time and um, it's awesome. It's a memory all out forever David was eating carrots. Yeah, I don't know he don't you know, oh, he maybe was hungry It is Yep, but how frustrating was it maybe some self-inflicted things a little bit? Yeah, it was more it was more that you know, obviously the turnover hurts and um Some of the penalties hurt and then we just had some some crap plays down there that we didn't execute very well and um It just wasn't wasn't our best performance in the red zone and uh, we we got to be better We'll learn from it's good to learn from that stuff and get better But that is a good unit in the red zone over there But we had certainly had our opportunities to make plays that we didn't make Yeah Yeah, yeah, it was good a couple good ones to him and um Got himself open on both of those and uh, pretty right on on but he's he's a good player and he's finally getting back to himself at this Point and it feels good 16 nothing yet and you know Yeah Yeah, I think Like the red zone stuff like we had a chance to make it 28 nothing or you know Whatever it would have been if we were scored all the touchdowns and and even you know at the end on that drive at the end of the Half, you know, make it 23 nothing um or even 19 nothing if we get a field goal, but Uh, you you just know that you kind of left the door open a little bit and you know, all right like, you know It's this gonna be a game now, you know, and we've kind of put ourselves in this position unfortunately and Uh, have to kind of, you know, fight for it now and continue to finish this game and I thought they fought about well That that team is a good team. They're talented and they did a good job fighting and um, we were able to close the door at the end Yeah, it's huge. Yeah, he's he's he's he's right where he needs to be. He's he's doing a good job I know that was a mistake by by him, but um I'm proud of him the way he handled it and the way that you know, he he stood up and took responsibility and um We'll move on. There's no problems there Yeah Yeah, that was a fun one that we've been working on for a while and um Uh, it just hadn't come up for whatever reason and uh, he got it and didn't quite have the look to throw it So it didn't you know, it didn't work out, but um, he made two or three guys miss on the tackle and I was kind of giggling the whole time watching it And in that position at the end of the game, like he'll avoid it was that obviously, you know Up in the stands of the press box. It looks like much easier to manage, but just keep your take on how that game ended 30 seconds for the sack and the title. Yeah ended in our favor Um It's hard man. The end of the game stuff. It's hard. It's real time decisions um, both sides are making and um, it's a lot of reps and it's a lot of time spent on those situational stuff and Um, we came out on top today. Um, I thought Kayla played really well and uh, I'm sure we'll have our battles for a long time, but yeah, he's a good player and did a good job Yeah, yeah, well it wasn't yeah You kind of would like him to throw it away. Um, that's what we were joking with him about But he's like, no, I'm only gonna get this chance once I'm gonna try to break some tackles So be I think he got back to line of scrimmage. No harm, no foul Yeah, it's fun to see that obviously is the dearest, you know, is a new addition to our team, but um, My husband doing a good job since he got here on on defense on or I'm sorry on scout team You know, making it hard on us and then obviously in the games now he's doing a great job and um It's fun to see guys step up. It's never fun to see guys get hurt or get injured or have to have to leave the game But when guys are able to step up and make those plays and and make a name for themselves on national television. It's fun What is it? Yeah, he's added a lot energy. I mean energy and and understanding of where we're at in our Season and what we're looking for and and he brings that energy every day. He's obviously such a great player on the field physically but um I think emotionally and and and uh is is juiced daily, uh bring something to that defense. It's fun Yeah, yeah, like I said, it's kind of a bucket list for me was to win on Thanksgiving and and now we can start a new streak of winning Um But yeah, it was big it was big and certainly that game came down to the wire there and was You know, you're worried about which way it's going to go But to get the w in the way we did and to end that uh skid that we've been on and and kind of put that to rest It's another kind of check off our list that we've been working on for the last handful of years and and and it feels good Thanks guys. I I diverged from wisdom Rizdans thinking on whether you want that first week buy I think especially with your buy week so early this season this year You absolutely want that first week of the playoff as a buy week And uh and just rest your way into the rest of the playoffs just because man these guys have been on a grind for a long time Yeah, every game you don't have to play against a playoff team with a hutchinson not playing Is a is a good week in my opinion as much as I'd love to watch as many lions games as possible Uh Having the the more time off everybody gets at the end. So I have a feeling maybe nikey did that whole thing and put all that that whole thing together because Well, and they're even back up from there There's the sonic 3 movie like I was loving the first half that the sonic 3 movie trailer came out While everything else is going on while they're getting decimated by the run game. I'm like, oh, man This is just if you're a bearish fan. You're absolutely choking on a turkey leg right now Sausage is already gone. Um Maybe it was maybe it was the movie. They may be pushing a little bit a little bit of promotions Hey, we can pump this up in Detroit with a little bit of love for their local team. So There's always something behind it. Nothing's real anymore. It's all astroturf. You know, I mean If it's if it's not AI, it's a miracle at this point And that game actually really know that that game happened Because you know, I got a local AI that could you know, maybe give you a play Yeah, you're gonna see some seven-figure people, you know, like one play looking almost like a real football game It's we're pretty close to that Two feet just inside the goal line. Oh, could the script be going to us? That's an interesting question to start asking at this point. I know you need another covert yet You get all the people out of the stadium and you'll be able to do that though Too many witnesses enough Yeah, actually the crowd. Yes. Well, I get how these I don't I don't I don't think there's a flat But it's the kernel of the truth that the whole thing stumbles from that you can you can kind of You can always go behind Plus, there's the whole ronfunch is I think said it. He's like, you know, like I get not believing in every conspiracy theory Yeah, but not believing in any conspiracy theories I think the government's just telling you the truth a hundred percent of the time mk ultra was real You know, look it up. Look it up. Okay, let me go crazy Yeah It was That's the game. I'm not a conspiracy theory guy, you know, I thought mk ultra was a conspiracy theory. We don't know That's just When I found out this is only like two years ago that I found out that mk ultra wasn't a conspiracy theory That was like real and the government had actually admitted it. It blew my fucking mind. Like I was like what? Yeah, oh yeah I suspect there are things we don't know my friend that would absolutely alter our belief in reality Wait, we're losing connection. We get seven days till we hit Bideswin and uh, hopefully all the guys who needed this week off get as much time as they need on the all day weekend To be able to actually play next Thursday. Yeah. There's inside the post it might as well been right down the middle It's a win. It puts us 11 and one Obviously things to clean up obviously players to get healthy We had a short four day run. We've got a seven day run before green bay And then uh after that we've got a 10 day run Before we uh, we run into The buffalo bills. So that's that 10 days is going to be crucial ahead of that tough game That'll be really really good for us and uh, I'll be willing Willing to uh to see what's going on there. Um, that'll be lines up Now that we've done this part Of it to have seven days for green bay and then a bigger break before Buffalo I kind of like that. I like that We'll see how it plays out. We'll see what happens with the the team and uh and the boys on that one and that buffalo game That could actually get flexed. I think to monday couldn't it? I really hope it doesn't because I will be able to watch it if it does I'll still luckily still be in town, but um, yeah, that's a crazy one.
