Yes, so the song that we listened to says it's so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take Him at His word, Hallelujah. It says Jesus, how I trust Him, how I've proven Him over and over again, Hallelujah. And the Bible declares the man blessed who puts his trust in the Lord, Hallelujah. Just trust Him, Hallelujah, trust Him and trust His word, Hallelujah. Now, whatever we do, we need to do based upon the word of God, Hallelujah. We need to take God at His word. God said it and we believe it and that settles it, Hallelujah. So we as the believers, we just believe it and we act upon what God has said. Now, we want to speak this afternoon about a very complicated subject, but it is found in the Bible as well. And we should be, yes, addressing this, especially as Christians. And we want to speak this afternoon about the topic of contradictions in the Bible. Are there any contradictions in the Bible? Now for a reading, we will take from 2nd Timothy chapter 3 verse 16, and the Bible says all Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. So they were playing from the biblical point of view that all Scripture, not some of the Scripture, but all Scripture is given by the inspiration of God. So the Bible itself is a supernatural book and it was inspired in a supernatural way. And if you go to 2nd Peter chapter 1, the Bible does speak that the holy man of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit, Hallelujah. So the prophets spoke in the Bible says in Amos chapter 3 verse 7, "Surely the Lord God does nothing unless he first reveals his servant, his secrets unto his servants the prophets." So the word of God comes to the prophet, it does not come to the theologian, it does not come to the priest, it does not come to the seminary, but it comes to the prophet, Hallelujah. And prophets many times were rugged people, Hallelujah. When God put them on the scene, they spoke many times in ways that people could not understand. Many times God spoke through them in riddles, imperables, and in metaphoric ways. And people many times must understood what the prophets said. And in today's time, we have many, many critics of the Bible out there. And people that judge and condemn and that reject the Scripture, Hallelujah. And the problem with such people is that they have not yet fallen in love with the author, Hallelujah. Now the Bible was written by 40 different people, Hallelujah. And these 40 different people, they loved during different time spans in different places. But it was the same Holy Spirit that inspired them, Hallelujah. Whether it was Moses, whether it was Samuel, whether it was the prophets, whether it was David, the king of Israel, or whether it was the writers of the gospel or the apostles of Jesus, they were all inspired by the same Spirit, Hallelujah. And the Spirit cannot contradict himself, Hallelujah. Now it seems apparent to many people that look with the natural eye that they are contradictions in the Scripture. But there are no contradictions in the Scripture. The Bible is a perfect piece of literature inspired from above, inspired from heaven. Now we as Christians have a duty and a responsibility to give an answer to those that question about the hope that is within us. That is what the Apostle Peter wrote in 1 Peter chapter 3 that we should have an answer, Hallelujah. Now people many times don't understand. They don't understand why Christians act the way they do. We act the way we do, because we believe the way we do. We believe the Bible, Hallelujah. And we believe the Bible is the Word of God. It is the inerrant, inspired, infallible Word of God. It is the absolute Hallelujah. There is no higher authority, there is no higher standard than the Holy Bible. Praise the name of the Lord. The Bible has the last say in all methods when it comes to the life of a believer, Hallelujah. The Scripture is the supreme authority, the highest authority that there is in the life of a believer. And we as believers are instructed in the apostle of Jude to earnestly content for the faith that was once delivered unto the saints. Hallelujah. So the faith that was delivered unto the saints. How did the saints believe? They believed as the Scripture said, Hallelujah. Jesus was saying in John chapter 7, "Ye that believes in me as the Scripture is said, streams of loving water shall flow from his belly, not ye that believes as he wants to be lived or ye that believes as he pleases to be lived. But Jesus said, ye that believes in me as the Scripture is said, streams of loving water shall flow from his belly." So the saints believed according to the Scripture. They believed according to the Holy Scripture, the writings of the Bible, Hallelujah. And we as Christians, loving in thus day and age, we should contend for the same faith that they had in the beginning. And that faith was based upon the Bible. It was Bible faith, Hallelujah. It was Scripture faith. It was not the teaching of a man's faith. It was not the doctrine of a man's faith. It was not the teachings or commandments of man. It was not some creed. It was not some set of beliefs that was compiled by the Church Fathers. But the people in the beginning, they believed according to what the Bible said, Hallelujah. Back to the Bible, back to the Word, back to the Scripture, back to the way it was in the beginning. Praise the name of the Lord. So we as Christians need to give an account. Yes, we need to answer. The apostle Paul was writing in Romans chapter 1. And he was saying that I am a debtor to both the Jews and the Greeks, to the barbarians, to the wise, to whosoever. He says, I am a debtor. So he owed them something and he owed them the tooth. And so also as his Christians, we are not here to engage in debates. We are not here to engage in arguments, but we are here to present the case for God, Hallelujah. Now God himself said in Isaiah 1 verse 18, come now and let us reason together, say of the Lord. So the Lord is inviting you to a conference, to an engagement, to a speaking, Hallelujah. The Lord wants to speak to you, Hallelujah. And many times people question God. Yes. And many times people question his word. And this afternoon's broadcast is a special edition that is dedicated to answering contradictions in the Bible. Now, firstly, I would like to stay before we go deeper into the topic that I am not a know it all. I do not know all the answers. I know some of it, but I do not know all of it. But what I know is I know the one that knows everything. Hallelujah. I don't know. I don't know everything about this world. I don't know everything about the Bible. And the scripture even says in 2nd Peter, chapter 3, that there are things that are hard to understand in the writings of Paul, Hallelujah. So there are things in the Bible is hard to understand. And the Bible says in Deuteronomy 29 verse 29 that the hidden things is for the Lord our God, but the revealed things is for us and for our children praise the name of the Lord. So there is a number of passages in the scripture that seem to contradict the one to the other. And this is a difficult stand for a Christian to be in, to stand in the arena where you need to face the powers of darkness, where you need to face the opposition, where you need to face the unbelievers, but it must be done. Hallelujah. Now, we go into the book of Genesis chapter number one. And then we read the scripture where it says that God made man in his own image. Hallelujah. Genesis chapter number one. And then we read verse 26. And God said, let us make man in our image after our likeness and let them have the meaning over the fish of the sea and over the fall of the end, over the cattle and over the earth and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image and in the image of God created him, male and female created, he them. And then you go over into Genesis chapter number two, then the Bible once again gives us an account of the creation of men. Hallelujah. And to be read, Genesis chapter number two, the Bible says from verse seven. And the Lord God formed men of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. And man became a loving soul. Now, for many people, they say this is an apparent contradiction because it says in chapter one, that God created man in his own image. And in chapter number two, it says that God formed men of the dust of the ground. And it seems like there's two creations happening. And it seems like right in the start of the Bible, there is a great contradiction. But it is not so at all. In chapter number one, God creates Adam in his image, which is a spirit image. The Bible says in the book of John chapter four, verse 24, that God is a spirit and those that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. So God created Adam as a spirit being, as a spirit man in the image of God. And then in chapter two, God took that same spirit and placed him in a body of flesh. And that body of flesh was made of the dust of the earth. And for many times, people say that, how can it be that we come from the dust of the earth? Our Creator said you are dust in your return to dust. And if you study the elements of which the human body is made of, we see that all of that is found in the earth. It's found in the dust, whether it's calcium, whether it's night of it, whether it is aluminium, whether it is carbon, whatever material your body is built up, the building blocks of your body, all that raw material, if you dig down into the earth, any scientist that studies the ground will tell you that those elements are found within the earth. And that is the exact evidence that we come from the earth. The body of flesh is formed out of the earth. Hallelujah. So man is a triune being. Yes, man is spirit, soul and body. The apostle Paul was writing about it. And he was saying that the God will sanctify you holy, or your soul, your spirit and your body. So we consist of different elements, soul, spirit and body. And upon the natural death, the spirit and soul leave the body. And the body goes back to the earth. And the Bible says in Cleasius chapter number 12 that the spirit goes back to God and gave it. Yes, but the soul journeys on to another world. It enters into paradise or it enters into the place of torment with the Bible calls hell. So there we have to prove that it is not a contradiction that God created man twice, but God in fact made man in his spirit image, which God is a spirit and that God placed him in chapter number two in a body of flesh. And we see that man is truly made in the image of God. And now just because I have a soul spirit in the body doesn't mean that I'm three different people. It means I'm one personal lawyer. And that leads us to the other great contradiction, so-called contradiction of the Bible. And many times people criticize the Bible and they say that in the Old Testament you read that there is only one God over and over. It is emphasized. For instance, Deuteronomy chapter six, verse number four, it says here, oh Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord. And then for instance, you go into Isaiah chapter 44 verse six where the Bible says I am the Lord that is my name and there is none else beside me. So over and over in the Bible in the Old Testament, it is being emphasized that there is one God. And then there are passages in the New Testament that speaks of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. And then people say that the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit is being portrayed as three different gods. And that seems to be an apparent contradiction because it was one God under the Old Testament by three gods in the New Testament. Now to solve that contradiction, we need to refer to different passages. And then you will see that there is no three gods, but there is actually just one God. The same God in the Old Testament was above them. He was God above them in the puller of fire by night in the puller of cloud by day. The same God that was above them became God with them in the New Testament with the birth of Jesus Christ. The Bible says in Isaiah chapter number seven, verse 14, "Behold the virgin shall conceive and bear son and shall call his name Immanuel." That is being interpreted God with us. So he was God above us and then he came down and he became God with us. Hallelujah. The Bible says in John 1 verse 1, "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was worth God and the Word was God." And then he says in verse 14, "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us." Hallelujah. And it proved us right there that the same God which is spirit, Hallelujah. It was above us, became flesh and took on human shape, human form and dwelt with us in the person of Jesus Christ. If you read John chapter 14, the disciples were asking Jesus, "Lord, show us the Father and it is enough for us." And Jesus said, "Philip, I've been so long with you and you've not known me. He that has seen me has seen the Father and how can you so ask me? Show us the Father." Hallelujah. God was worth them, Immanuel, dwelling with them, eating with them, fellowshipping with them, walking with them. He was God worth them. Hallelujah. And many people did not even recognize him. He was God veiled in the flesh. Jesus was the body. God is the spirit and the spirit dwelt in the body. Hallelujah. Therefore, we refer to Jesus as being God manifested in the flesh. Hallelujah. Now many times people say you say that Jesus is God, but the Bible also says he's the Son of God and it seems to be an apparent contradiction. And people say that how can you be your own Father? No, it is not the case of being his own Father. Jesus is referred to as the Son of God, but is also referred to as the Son of Man. He's also referred to as the Son of Abraham. He's also referred to as the Son of David. That doesn't mean that he has four fathers, but Son of God is a title ascribed to Jesus that refers to him as the Redeemer. Hallelujah. And even the people of the book, which is the Jews, they had the revelation and they knew that if somebody says he's the Son of God, he's actually referring to himself as being God incarnate. Hallelujah. And that is why they wanted to stone Jesus in John chapter 10. When Jesus was saying, I am the Son of God. And then as they were picking up the stones, if you read John 10, Jesus was asking them of which one of my good works do you want to stone me? And then the Jews being the people of the book, the people of the scripture, the people that knows there's only one God. They told Jesus is not because of your good works that we stone you, but is because of you being a man, make yourself God. Hallelujah. Jesus wasn't saying in direct words, I am God. He was saying, I am the Son of God, but they understood it. Hallelujah. They had the correct knowledge because the Bible says that salvation is of the Jews. The Bible says that the oracles of God was made known unto them. They are the chosen people according to the scripture. And they know the Bible better than people that is not people of the book. And they knew that if somebody makes reference like that to say that I and my father are one is in fact making himself equal and saying that he is God. And they saw Jesus as blaspheming because blasphemy means that you put yourself in the same level as God. You say that you are God. But the difference was Jesus wasn't just making this claim. He actually was the claim. Hallelujah. Everything that God did Jesus did the identical thing. God raised the debt in the Old Testament. Jesus raised the debt in the New Testament. God heals the sick in the Old Testament. Jesus heals the sick in the New Testament. God forgives sense in the Old Testament. Jesus forgives sense in the New Testament. Everything that Jesus did and spoke was equivalent exactly to God, making him identical to God and in fact making him God. Hallelujah. So when we refer to him as the son of God, it's a title that refers to him being the redeemer. Hallelujah. When we refer to him as the son of Abraham, it refers to him being Hallelujah. Being the one that is the heir of all things because Abraham was an heir of the promises of God. When we refer to Jesus as being the son of David, we refer to his kingship, that he is the king. When we refer to Jesus because David was the king of Israel and Jesus being the son of David, that makes him also the king of Israel, not just the king of Israel, but he's the king of kings and he's the Lord of Lords. And when we refer to Jesus as the son of man, we are referring to Jesus, prophethood, Hallelujah. Because God addressed the prophet Ezekiel as son of man. And that was a title that goes hand in hand with being a prophet. If the head goes hand in hand with prophethood, Hallelujah. And that is how it is when it comes to Jesus, Hallelujah. Now it seems another apparent contradiction that there is also a third person in the Godhead, which is the Holy Spirit. But if you closely study the scriptures, you will see that the Holy Spirit is not another God that we worship. The Holy Spirit is the same God, Hallelujah. The Bible says in Genesis 1, did the Spirit of God move upon the waters? He hovered upon the waters. And then the Bible says that God is a spirit. So that spirit that was having upon the waters, it was God himself. If you go to Matthew chapter 1 verse 18, the Bible says the birth of Jesus Christ was in this manner. When his mother Mary was a spouse to Joseph before they came together, she was found pregnant of a child of the Holy Ghost. So the Holy Ghost is responsible for the pregnancy of Mary, making the Holy Ghost the father of Jesus. But the Bible then says in Luke chapter 1, that the child which shall be born shall be called son of God, son of the Most High. So if the Most High is his father and the Holy Spirit is his father, that doesn't mean he is two fathers. That means that the Holy Spirit is the Most High and the Most High is the Holy Spirit. So we as Christians are not pagans, we don't worship three different gods, we worship one God. That one God manifests himself in different ways. He manifests himself as the father, he manifests himself as the son, he manifests himself as the Holy Spirit. That one God has many titles. He is called the Rose of Sharon, the Lily of the Valley. He is called Wonderful, Mighty God, Prince of Peace. He has many titles but he is one God. Even in the Old Testament he had different names of redemption. He had the redemptive names Hallelujah. He was called Jehovah Raffa, the Lord that heals you, Jehovah Jare, the Lord that provides, Jehovah Nissi, the Lord Ribena, Jehovah Shama, which is the Lord is present. He was called Jehovah Raha, which is the Lord my Shepherd. He was called all these different names but they didn't make him a different person. It made him still the same person just in different manifestations. To Abraham he appeared as El Shaddai Hallelujah but to Moses he appeared as Yahweh but there doesn't make him a different person. In the same thing in the New Testament Jesus is called many titles but he has one name and that is Jesus. Now we're going to take a break quickly after the break we're going to go again into this topic of apparent contradictions in the Bible. God bless you. Readiest river. Readiest of you. Readiest river. Readiest river. It is so sweet to trust in Jesus just. Oh just to take him and his word just to rest upon his post. Oh just to know the sin, the Lord Jesus, Jesus, how I trust him, how I prove him more, how I know Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Jesus, how I trust him more, how I pray to trust him I am so glad that I learned to trust thee. Precious Jesus, Savior, friend, oh yes he is, and I know that thou art with me will be with me to the end. You know I'm so glad that I've learned that I've learned that I've learned to trust thee. Precious Jesus, Savior, Savior, friend, and I know that you are with me as you are and will be with me to the end. Jesus, Jesus, how I trust him, how I prove him more, and Lord Jesus, Jesus, praise Jesus, oh Lord, praise Jesus. Feel more, sing it now, Jesus, Jesus, how I find you, how I prove him more, and Lord Jesus, Jesus, praise Jesus, oh Lord Jesus, to trust him more, oh for grace, oh yes Lord, yes mest, to trust him oh, oh for grace, yes Lord, radio yes river, our station, our talent, and our people. Yes, it is wonderful to trust in Jesus, the Bible declares blessed is the man that puts his trust in the Lord, and also if you go into the book of Romans chapter number 10, the Bible says clearly that he that puts his trust in the Lord shall not be put to shame, hallelujah. Behold, I lay in Zion a precious stone, and he that believes in him shall not be put to shame. Just put your trust in Jesus people, and you will not be put to shame. Just take him at his word. So we're speaking about his word today, and we are answering the apparent contradictions that people claim they're eating the Bible. And we were speaking about the divinity of Jesus, and we proved that the scripture says he is God. So Jesus is not another God, we don't worship like pagans, different gods, but we as Christians worship one God, one God manifest in different manifestations, manifested as the father, manifested as the son, manifested as the Holy Spirit. Now, another apparent contradiction is that the genealogy of Jesus doesn't line up. If you go into Matthew chapter number one, you read about the genealogy of Jesus, and if you go into Luke chapter three, you also read about the genealogy of Jesus. And if you trace back all these names, then you see that some of the names are different, but all of the names go back either to Abraham or to Adam, hallelujah. Now, some people say that the gospel according to Matthew says that Joseph the husband of Jesus, he was the son of Jacob. And then again, it speaks about in the gospel of Luke that Jesus was or Jacob was the son of Heli or Heli. But if you study closely upon examination, you will see that the gospel of Matthew portrays the leanness of Jesus through Joseph, which was his stepfather, not his biological father. And the gospel according to Luke traces the genealogy through Mary, the mother of Jesus. Now, because Mary was the daughter of a father, Heli, and obviously, Joseph now becoming a husband and the Bible doesn't record Mary having any brothers at all. That automatically means that Joseph now becoming the son of law of Heli. He now becomes the heir of Heli according to the law of inheritance, which you can read in the book of Leviticus, Hallelujah. If a man then has no sons, Hallelujah. But now, one of his daughters Mary's husband and then husband then becomes his son in law. So the gospel according to Luke traces the leanness of Jesus through Mary, which also goes out of the tribe of Judah. And the gospel according to Matthew traces, the genealogy of Jesus through Joseph, which also comes of the tribe of Judah. And that fulfills the scripture that the Messiah would come from the tribe of Judah, Hallelujah. The Bible says in Genesis 49 verse 10 that the Redeemer shall come out of Shiloh or until Shiloh shall come. And then also Isaiah chapter 54 says that the Redeemer shall come out of Jacob, Hallelujah. Now Shiloh was an ancient or wording on name that refers to the Messiah and Shiloh was predicted to come out of the tribe of Judah. So there we have the prophecies already speaking that Jesus would come under the tribe of Judah. So just because you are reading different names in the two lists of genealogies, that doesn't mean that it's a contradiction of names. It just means that the one speaks about Jesus coming from the leanness of Mary and then the other one speaks through Jacob. Jacob being his adopted father, Hallelujah. And that proves that he actually came from the tribe of Judah and that solves the contradiction. That's the end of the story. Now another contradiction that many critics of the Bible outline is the account of the crucifixion and of the resurrection. And if we go into the different gospels, we read for instance in Matthew chapter number 28, the Bible speaks that does happen with the resurrection of Jesus. In the end of the Sabbath as it began to dawn to what the first day of the week came Mary made the lean and the other Mary to the sepulchre. And behold there was a great earthquake for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone from the door and set upon it. His countenance was like lightning and his arrangement white as snow. And for fear of him the keepers did shake and became as dead man. And the angel answered and said unto the woman, fear ye not. For I know that you seek Jesus which was crucified, he is not here, he is risen. And he said, come see the place where the Lord lay. So yeah clearly speaks about one angel that was present and this angel even deceived that from heaven. But now if we go into another account of the gospel, let's say for instance the gospel according to Luke that also gives an account of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. And this is where many people sometimes say but the Bible is incoherent and it's full of contradictions. Now if you go with me to the book of Luke 24, now upon the first day of the week very early in the morning they came under the sepulchre bringing the spices which they had prepared and certain others with them. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre and they entered in and found out the body of the Lord Jesus. And it came to pass as they were must perplexed they about behold two men stood by them in shining remnants. And as they were afraid and bowed down their faces to the earth they sit unto them. Why see ye the loving among the dead? He is not here but he's risen. Remember how he spoke unto you there when he was yet in Galilee saying the son of men must be levered into the hands of sonful men and be crucified and the third day rise again and they remembered his words. And returned from the sepulchre and told all these things unto the leaven unto the race. He was Mary Meg the lean and joanna and Mary the mother of James and the other woman that were with them which stole these things unto their apostles and they would seem to them as idle tales and they believed them not. Now here it seems like an apparent contradiction at the resurrection of Jesus. Matthew speaks about one angel and Luke speaks about two angels. But what we must bear in mind about the gospels to solve this contradiction is that the gospel of Matthew portrays Jesus from a certain point of view. It represents him as the king and Matthew writes to a Jewish audience to prove to Jesus to them that Jesus is the Messiah and the dee is the king. The gospel according to Mark portrays Jesus as the servant Hallelujah as the one that came to heal and to forgive and to do the miracles but he also had a message to deliver. The gospel according to Luke portrays Jesus as being the son of men which is the prophet or the prophet and then the gospel according to John portrays Jesus as being the son of God or the manifestation of God in the flesh. Now these are four different men and they were writing from four different points of view. The one writer includes some detail that the other writer did not see. It would be the same as four people sitting in one room looking at one painting. The one would say that the painting is in the form of a square. The other one would say that the painting is the color blue in it. The other one would say that the painting is big and small letters in it. The other one would take note and say that there are trees in the painting and there is birds. So each one is a specific detail or angle from which they are looking Hallelujah and the same applies to the gospel whether it is the gospel according to Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Each one is giving a different point of view of the same story Hallelujah. So where Matthew is saying there's one angel that came down and rolled the stone away. It is in fact so that it was one angel and afterward they appeared another angel. So by the time they got there the stone was already rolled away and then there were two angels but it was only one angel that ascended down and it rolled the stone away. So that doesn't mean that Matthew is lying when he says one angel and Luke is lying when he says two angel. No it could also be that the writers came upon the scene. The one came there while the one angel appeared when the other one came upon the scene there was already the second angel that appeared as well. So that solves the contradiction. Another contradiction that pops up that people many times hold and they say but this is not true, that's not accurate is when it comes to the numerical records that the Bible gives the statistics. For instance if you go into the book of Numbers which is the book of numericals or statistics we see that the Bible gives a record that there were people that died from the camp of Israel because they committed a terrible sin of idolatry and fornication and then the Bible says that the number of them that died of the plague were 24,000 and then you go over into 1st Corinthians chapter 10 and then the Apostle Paul says that because of the disobedience of this fornication in idolatry they fell in one day 23,000 and now people say but Numbers says 24,000 died and Corinthians says that 23,000 died but upon close examination of the scripture if you just read in context and you read from left to right and you read word for word you will realize that Paul says in one day 23,000 fell. Numbers says the total was 24,000 but the majority of them which was 23 out of 24 they died in one day so that doesn't mean that Paul was inaccurate when he was saying 23,000 or Numbers was inaccurate when he says 24,000 but it is an actual fact proving that how powerful the wrath of God was that God devoured 23,000 of them in one day Hallelujah. Now people that is a list of some of the examples in the Bible there are many many other passages of scripture which people claim that the one scripture speaks against the other but what we must remember at all times is that we must know the author of the book the author of the book will give you guidance in the book if somebody writes a book and you study it you will read that book with your understanding with your interpretation but if you have an interviewer sit down with the author of the book only the author can make the contents of the book more clear and that is how it is with God for us to understand his word we need to have a relationship with him Hallelujah there needs to be a relationship with prayer and walking with the Lord and it is then that the Lord reveals his word to us now many of the disciples they were walking with Jesus they were walking with Jesus for three and a half years and many of them still could not understand some of the things we see for instance that when Jesus told them in Matthew chapter 16 that the son of man has to go to Jerusalem and be crucified by the elves and the priests and that they had to arise again on the third day we see that Peter a man that was following Jesus a man that believed in Jesus a man that was preaching about Jesus it was the same Peter that said God forbid that it will not happen to you Lord and we see that Jesus rebuked him and said go the hand Satan because you think not the things of God but the things of men so Peter being a loyal disciple of Jesus he didn't fully understand what he was all about but the longer you walk with Jesus he eventually came to understand that Jesus had to die according to the scriptures he had to be delivered he had to be captured he had to be crucified for the sins of the world so that he can redeem us hallelujah so that he can save us and pay the price for our sins but Peter walking with Jesus for such a long time did not comprehend another example is Philip he was walking with Jesus but he still thought that there was a higher being than Jesus and he says Lord show us the Father and it is enough and Jesus said Philip I've been so long what you never know me he didn't see me has seen the Father and so it can happen even with us as believers that we don't know all things but the longer we walk with the Lord and the longer we have a relationship with him he eventually takes us deeper and deeper into his word and gives us the correct understanding but it is very important that you must have a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ now many people come with an academic mind they come with the intellectual mind and they try to interpret the Bible with the same and there is many times where they find themselves walking in circles and finding not in the Bible that they are not able to untie because they come with the academic mind to interpret the Bible but when it comes to the Bible it is the word of the Lord and you need the mind of the Lord to understand the word of the Lord and the Bible says in Philippians let the mind that was in Christ be in you also the mind the understanding hallelujah if that mind is in you then you will understand the Bible says in first Corinthians chapter 2 that the natural man does not understand the things of the kingdom of God to him it's foolishness and that is how it is with them that are intellectually or academically programmed they look at the Bible with that type of lenses and they interpret it the same way but what you need is the lenses of God hallelujah you need God's way of seeing things God's way of thinking and that is imparted to you by the baptism of the Holy Spirit the Holy Spirit gives you the understanding of the word of God without the spirit of God you will not understand the word of God and as I've said there are many many others it's just that our time is a bit limited we're making ready for past the Clayton Gabriel's who come up to line up so we can go further and further there are hundreds more examples in the Bible where the prescription speaks of one thing year one thing there and then it seems that it's an apparent contradiction but it is not the case at all hallelujah you just need the Lord to open your understanding we see that after the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ in Luke chapter 24 the Bible says that there was two men walking to Emmaus hallelujah or from Emmaus and they were speaking about the things that were happening here in Jerusalem how that Jesus was crucified and now that is now the third day since all these things happening and these two men they were really disheartened they were despondent because they thought that it would be Jesus that would deliver Israel now out of the hand of the Roman Empire but now it's already three days since he passed on and while they were talking these things Jesus appeared in the much and they didn't even know that it was Jesus walking with him and many times he can so happen that the presence of God goes on the way cook nice God hides himself in simplicity hallelujah look at the birth of Jesus born in a manger over a manure pile amongst the animals in a store look at the humble and simplicity that he showed during his earthly ministry Jesus said that the foxes have holes in the bursiveness but the son of man doesn't have a place where he can lay his head Jesus loved a humble simple life and people must eat a million miles they didn't know who he was and so it was with these people that were on their way or from Emmaus and then Jesus was speaking to them and the Bible says then openly they're understanding so that they can understand the scriptures and as it was becoming now to the point of sunset they wanted Jesus to teary with them but we see that Jesus just broke the bread he blessed it and then he vanished out of them much he disappeared and then they realized that Jesus was worth them hallelujah the Bible says then their eyes were opened and they knew him hallelujah now that is what you just need to understand the scriptures you just need to walk with Jesus they were just walking with Jesus without even realizing that they are walking with Jesus hallelujah and then eventually at the end he opened it all up and they understood that it was him and they said to themselves did our hearts not burn within us while he was with us in open the scriptures now if there's a burning desire in your heart God sees it hallelujah the Bible says is the dear pence after the the book after the water so does my soul pant or thirst after the oh God if there is a hunger and a thirst in your heart God will see that hunger God will see that thirst and God will eventually fill it the Bible says in Matthew chapter 5 blessed are those that do hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be filled hallelujah the Lord will fill you eventually the Lord sees the desire and so it was with these two men on the way from Emmaus that there was a burning in the heart there was a desire hallelujah and Jesus saw the desire in the heart and he opened the understanding to understand the scriptures and maybe there's also burning in your heart this afternoon to want to know more of the Lord hallelujah to walk even closer to him than ever than ever before and the Lord sees the desire and the Lord will fulfill their desire many people have grown up in church all their life but they know nothing about God there's a saying that says there are people that know less about God than a rabbit knows about snowshoes and what does a rabbit know of snowshoes snowshoes he knows nothing he just knows when he snows he must go in a hole if you give a rabbit snowshoes he won't even know what to do with it and many times that is a sad case of people that grew up in the world of Christianity they know Sunday school they know church but they know nothing about God they know less about God than a rabbit knows about snowshoes and that is a sad case people but there is still an opportunity for you to start a relationship with Jesus Christ and if there's any out there tuned in right now in the radio land it like to start a relationship with the
